I've caught a female Kecleon in PMD2 after shoplifting in Mystifying forest. YIPEE!!! And I have never used any kind of cheat device on any game, before anyone asks. She's level 44 and has Attack 255, Sp Atk 255, Defence 255, Sp. Def 255, and HP 284. She's great, every move she has is like a OHKO move. She needs 63,538 exp pts to go up to the next level, so I used two joy seeds and a golden seed. Each time she gains a level, she gains 1HP but the other stats don't go up, I assume they are already maxed out. And she needs 65,000 points to go up each level. The question I have is, is her strength set purely by the 255 values, or does her actual level make her stronger even though these stats don't alter? Her HP and recruitment chances will increase as her level goes up, and she'll be able to learn new moves, but is that all that will alter?

First the double post is uneeded, the edit button is there for a reason.

The answer to your question is when you use joy seeds or golden seeds the level raises but the stats don't. Your attack power and defense ability rely on these stats so if you wish to have the same power as your level then I suggest leveling up because you get more experience in your stats and your attack power and defense ability increase making it eaier to win battles where as if you just level up the only thing changing is the number and nothing in terms of stats and ability get nothing when using the level-up seeds. The HP will increase but the recruitment chance will decrease because the levels are rising and it is easier to get a lower level Pokemon than a higher one.

You are mixing the mechanics of the main games with those of PMD: Stat growth is scripted, that means that the stats a pokemon gains when it levels up, and their base, are already programmed, and will ALWAYS be that, unless you use items to increase them. 255 is the cap for Atk, Def, SpAtk and SpDef in those games, because of how hexadecimal works (HP caps at 999).

Seeds do not alter stat growth.

Next time, before making up false info out of guesses, don't say anything or do a bit of research.

Kecleon not gaining anymore stats is normal, as they won't go any higher, just like any other Pokemon with 255 in any stat.

And Keckleon has a VERY odd stat growth, at certain levels it gets a +90 boost or something, and has very low base stats, and doesn't get a increase for a long time. In 2, in any case, in PMD it is normal, it just is overleveled.

Speaking about level, YOUR level is the only thing that increases recruit chance. The enemies' level doesn't have any modifier, the SPECIES does.

I am aware I made a mistake but when using a Golden Seed the stat increase is the same as if you were going to level up one level. A Golden Seed increases your Pokemon by five levels but only increases the stats by the average amount of one level. The fact that Kecleon is different to other Pokemon still doesn't amount to the fact that The Scary Dragon could have found out all this information by looking before posting.

I disagree with you in the stat increase provided by the golden seed, as I got increases ranging from 5 to 10 after using it, while the Pokemon I used it on increased 1-2 points for level up. In any case, I'll check it up (and now I have an excuse to be overleveled, it was done for SCIENCE! :p)

Yeah, I agree with True Eriorguez. Golden seeds do raise your stats by the equavalent of 5 levels. The reason why some people think it doesn't is that some pokemon have low stat gain in certain stats, eg togekiss. That's why when they grow 5 levels, some of their stats only grow by, say,3.

Then could you please tell me WHERE to look, as I have been unable to find this information out by doing rather a lot of looking. The only information I can find on this site is www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/352.shtml and this clearly doesn't fit with the one I have caught, and also gives a maximum value for Sp. Defense as 372. Am I just clicking on the wrong buttons or something?

Yes, I agree with you. Each joy seed increased her HP by 1 and the golden seed increased it by 5. And each time she levels up naturally, she just gains 1HP and nothing else, apart from a new move occasionally.

Do you know where I can find this stat growth information? I took her into Zero Isle West once. I'd taken my two joy seeds and the golden seed - I only ever use these for experiments and then turn the gameboy off without saving, I never use them for keeps. But they just didn't help. I won't be taking her there again!

IIRC, I got that info from the same page that has the WM generator, but I don't remember the direction (I have the WM gen downloaded, that's why). I'm not sure if the jump happened at Lv. 40, 50 or 65, but it was in that range.

Oh, and that dex is of the main games, and the main games have a different stat system that the MD games.

1. Once you recruit Dialga at Temporal Tower, will you be able to go back to Temporal Tower to train? And what happens when you release Dialga from your team if you do?

2. In Aegis Cave after I beat Regigigas, the giant stone came up and said to close your eyes, and I said yes. What happens if you say no?

Once you have recruited Dialga you can freely go back and train in Temporal Tower and if you release Dialga it is gone forever. It won't be back at Temporal Tower so if I was you I'd keep it.

Hello. I was in Shimmer desert yesterday and I had to fight Groundon, however, when I defeated him, I couldn't recruit him. I thought something was wrong, so I turned of my DS, and tried again. The second time I defeated him, I was able to recruit him. My question is, sometimes, when you beat bosses like Groundon, don't you always recruit them?

Also, ive been into Final Maze, and I saw Jirachi. I tried to recruit her, but she fainted, and didn't recruit her. My question is, will I be able to try and recruit her again?

How do you get a Stoneplate or Enigma Part?

And how to you get do dungeons like Joy cape, Mt Wind or Enclosed Sea? I haven't heard of these places before.

Nope, Groundon isn't an auto recruit for this game. You'll just have to try again until he'll join your team, same with many of the other ledgendaries.

You will have a chance to recruit her again. I promise she'll be on that floor next time you go around the maze.

Through option missions I believe.

I believe the names you are using are the Japanese names for them. Still, you'll unlock these dungeons through optional missions as well. Just keep checking the mission board until a mission for one of these dungeons comes up. ^^ Well, the Enclosed Sea you speak of is actually Surrounded Sea and you'll get it after beating the main storyline. Corphish will mention it to you.

Hope this helped. x_x;

I've started going to the '7 treasures' dungeons. So far I've been to Articuno's and Giratina's. I went back to Articuno's to do some missions, but couldn't battle Articuno at the end of the dungeon. I know that happens with other dungeons, but that's usually when theres multiple levels beyond (like Uxie's dungeon), not when there's just one (like Mt. Travail). Is there a way for me to battle Articuno after doing missions? I didn't know if bringing it's treasure would work or not (last time I brought the amber tear)

-the Stoneplate or Enigma Part can be obtained by doing prospecting missions from the left bulletin board in the guild. In the description it'll say something like 'Let's go find the Stoneplate'. The missions appear at random, so keep an eye out for them. Don't get discouraged if it takes a while; I think I was finished with the storyline before I finally got one.

-I think my dungeons have a different name, but I think the equivalent would be Happy Outlook, Mt. mistral and Surrounded Sea. For those first two, you gain access through escort missions that appear randomly on the left board, just like for the stoneplate. They'll say something like 'Let's explore an unknown place', with the destination as ???. For the surrounded sea, that opens as you move through the story; I believe Sunflora tells you about at some point, but I'm not when sure exactly.

Also, for Mt. Mistral, watch out for Drifblim and their ominous wind attack.

You won't be allowed to fight a dungeon's boss if you're doing a mission. That applies to all dungeons.

The 7 treasure bosses have a 70% recruit rate. So does the regi trio (not gigas).

Boooooooo. What a ripoff.

Actually, my understanding is they run from -10% to 22% for the 7 treasure bosses, and the regis are -12%, according to the data from bulbapedia (and factoring in any bonuses).

thanks for the suggestion Chuk, i probably will use tons of sleep seeds to protect pikachu. i did however find out this morning that skitty can learn solar beam. so that and the sleep seeds should be enough, i hope
