but now goh can literally catch everything he sees (if he has enough pokeballs ofc)
so writers wont have any problem of adding grookey to goh

Problem is that Goh gets Grookey because of one single reason: He only has 2 Pokemon on his main team, one off which is already fully developed. So the moment Sobble evolves, he needs another one. At that to the fact that Grookey is more popular than Rillaboom (Which means it ain't gonna evolve, since Rillaboom doesn't sell plushies, while Grookey does), Grookey going to Ash is basically impossible, especially since Ash is already in the higher end of the Super Rank, who most likely enters Hyper Rank soon, which they just can't make believable at this point anymore.

They will give ash a first stage mon still cuz after sirfetch'd ash has literally no mon in team he would develop aside from giving dracovish one battle(the fully evolved ones don't get development that much look at dragonite,gengar) and the battles are going to mostly going in offscreenland aside from some major ones like gym leaders which are like 10 battles
Means ash would have nothing to do

Writers have made PWC a joke and don't care about popularity ( See Dracovish, a bit above Rillaboom I guess)
Believable? They already made it unbelievable by making a rookie have two legendaries.
Everything points towards me( even Riley's prediction), so basically Ash getting Grookey is confirmed.
If you wanna bet, then quote!!!

He already has his 6 and he's barely done anything with them outside Lucario and sometimes Farfetch'd.

Unless Dracovish sits at the lab

I think it'd be neat if we had a character aspiring to be a writer. There's a bunch of types though: are they a novelist, someone who writes short stories, or something like a picture book author (where they're more artist than writer)? A short story writer could be the one framing/narrating episodes, for example!
