Eh, idk about here and the ongoing context, but I've often seen the tears of joy and clown emotes being used to mask frustration and put on a 'happy/amused' face (usually on Insta and Twitter) by people when they're on the losing end of a debate/argument, especially if it's used out of thin air when there's absolutely no amusement factor to whatever is being discussed.
