No, it wouldn’t, at this point if any of them came back and evolve it wouldn’t be DEM at all because of the amount of time that has past and the fact that they went through an entire region with Ash.
Almost all of them haven't done any battles since the Sinnoh League or the end of their respective sagas.

Yeah but you gotta admit that Brock didn't know when to call it quits 'cause he kept invading every girls' personal space almost the entire time he was in the main cast...

The irony being that while Takeshi did encroach upon the personal space of female characters, Kasumi, Masato, and Gureggru did the same thing to him whenever they'd try to get him to stop. So while I don't defend Takeshi's behavior, I did think that it's hypocritical of those characters to essentially do to him what he was doing to others.

That was only done because Dawn at the time had a Cyndaquil of her own.

Do not try to move the goal post. They didn’t have to bring back Cyndaquill and evolve it during the Sinnoh League, but they did.

So no they can pretty much bring back sny reserve they want and evolve it.

As I said, Cynadquil only evolved because Dawn had one. Any reserve coming back and evolving now would just be a DEM for the purpose of making Ash look stronger than he actually is. And, most of you want this.

I still don't get this argument. Hikari wasn't the focus of the Shinou League, and I can't really remember her Hinoarashi appearing there for more than a few seconds at most, so why would Satoshi having his own Hinoarashi at the time be cause for his to evolve? There being two Hinoarashi in the cast wasn't a problem because their screen-time didn't overlap much in the first place, so I don't think that was the reason for why Satoshi's Hinoarashi evolved.

I wouldn't like it, as it would be a DEM just to make Ash look stronger than he actually is.
How would any of them evolving be a DEM? Evolution is natural and Pokemon evolve through all sorts of circumstances. Especially when they have a ton of experience, which Ash's Pokemon have. Besides, they could come back and 3volve during or after battle, like Cyndaquil.

And Ash won't look artificially stronger. His Pokemon will BE objectively stronger, and most of them honestly deserve an upgrade after all the work they put in/after being shafted.

Some of them were meant to be more comic relief than strong battlers.

They can still be strong AND comic relief. Or they can just drop the comic relief angle and let them evolve past the need to be jokes.

They might be worried that the kid audience might be confused between the two, which might also be why Paul's Torterra and Gliscor disappeared entirely after Ash got his own.

That’s not a excuse, as they were all still battlers.

Stop grasping at straws. Ash’s Cyndaquil evolving has nothing to do with Dawn having a Cyndaquil especially when Ash’s Cyndaquil and Dawn Cyndaquil were never on the main cast at the same time as each other.

It would not be DEM for any of Ash’s reserves to come back and evolve.

How would kids get confused between the 2 when Dawn wasn’t participating in the Sinnoh League.

I think what would force Ash to use reserves is if they implement the Pokémon World Tournament from BW2 into the anime and just make it so some PWC/PCS matches happen to occur during the tourney.

Maybe Ash goes to Unova for a tourney hosted by Don George but he's holding Type-Specialist tournaments where the contenders have to sign up with 3 Pokémon that all share one single type.

That way Ash can use his current members but also bring back old ones for back up.

Although I do think that Croagunk was the perfect wingman for Brock because unlike Misty and Max, Croagunk was able to learn how to read the situations so it didn’t stop Brock or interfere if it saw that the girl Brock was flirting with actually had feelings for him.

It mainly just interfered in cases where the girl didn’t seem to have feelings for Brock. Now Misty & Max on the other hand clearly weren’t good at reading the situation, sure a lot of times they were right but there were times when they shouldn’t have interfered.

Like for instance when Max interfered with Brock flirting with Lucy even though it was clear that Lucy had feelings for Brock.

And when Croagunk attacked Brock he used poison which looked like it hurt. Brock was always miraculously allright after that but I always thought that Croagunk jabbing Brock and Misty and Max pulling Brock's ear was as bad or worse than Brock grabbing a girl's hand and saying dumb flirty stuff.

Too old for your rubbish..

Remember Ash evolving his Bulbasaur and Squirtle when May's were a part of the main cast? Good times..
