I doubt that rumor of the starters getting regional evolutions is true, since think about it.

If the regional evolutions turns out to be more popular than their normal counterparts, it basically has become a marketing disaster, since then the normal evolutions are kinda problematic from now on.

Its especially problematic for Typhlosion and Decidueye in that case, since they are already the most popular fully evolved starters from their generation.

Yeah, and Decidueye is even playable in Pokken Tournament.

Capitalism baguettes thought.
If something will make money who cares what happens.
That's why Pokemon like Charizard get two unique special Mega Evolutions and gets to become the Ace of a champion while Blastoise and Venusaur get sidelined.
