Should Ash and Goh receive a Kubfu each, do you think they will immediately evolve in a potential IoA arc itself? I mean, just to immediately portray the "difference" (easier to show with 2 Urshifu w/ different formes despite aesthetically the same than 2 Kubfu)...

I would actually love for them to use the companions showing up to show Koharu around all the possibilities she has as a trainer (which was actually referenced in the Eevee episode). Like a Brock episode to show nurse school, Serena showing performing, May/Dawn showing contests, and so on. Serena and May specially would work great with Eevee meeting Sylveon and Glaceon.

ALL HAIL THE GORILLA-FROG!
I think that too, though if that's really the case, this sure would be a weird way to test the waters.
Recasting someone like Chuck was kind of a given, but this is a way different situation than that...

I could had sworn the Japanese voice actor passed away a while ago, but apparently, he's still alive albeit retired now.

Morax

King of heroes
Remember guys serena promised ash to be a more "charming woman" when they meet again. I can only see her coming back at the tail end of this anime.

Mr.Munchlax

Great Ball Rank Trainer
As long as Billy Beach/Carter Cathcart/Whatever He Calls Himself still voices Gary in the dub, I'm perfectly fine

there's a part of me that prefers Ash getting the water form since while seeing him get another dark type would be interesting, at the same time i'd like to see him use one of the ones he already owns under the "standards of Nanu" first.

cause even though G-Farfetch'd has a couple of dark moves, it's not a dark type or fights like something based off nanu's standards.

edit: before anyone responds I know what your going to say about "Why should it matter?" hear me out.

Nanu is the first dark type specialist to actually show up in the anime, everyone previously has been an elite 4 member that we've never seen (granted this current series could in fact change that) so i'm willing to say this, when Piers shows up, should he have a different view on how dark pokemon are handled in combat then by all means Nanu's view can be challenged.

but until then, going by the standards of Nanu, if your not using dark pokemon like he did your not using them right, and Ash has not used any of his in that manner.

That could easily happen without the need for her to learn from them specifically, though. COTDs could easily fulfill that role. Frankly, the thought of the previous companions being used for her benefit just doesn't sit well with me, because I dislike the concept of hand-holding and mentoring in general, especially when it comes to characters that should have bigger purposes.

I eagerly look forward to Ash using Dracovish against her, I would love to see Grapploct try to apply it's submission hold on the thing
That and Dracovish loving it’s liquidation cuz it’s made out of water.

Wow I wonder if it will have water absorb and not strong jaw!? I just assumed it must have strong jaw as a Dracovish.

If one or both receive Kubfu, I fully expect their Kubfu to evolve during the arc since Kubfu can only evolve in the towers, so I don’t expect their Kubfu to evolve the traditional way, so I can see a 4 episode arc happening and I still expect the arc to end with Ash taking on Mustard one way or another.

While I'm not a fan of Dracovish per say, the one thing I do think will be interesting to see is how the animators portray it in battle. It's such an odd Pokemon, that I could see it being used either for comic relief or as a serious threat. It reminds me of Goodra in that regard.

It's easier to return a battler with a loose goal than it is to return someone who's focused on contests which aren't relevant at the moment. Sure they could come up with some convoluted reason to include them in the current story, but it's just easier to return someone like Iris first, or Brock and Misty who despite having other goals (in Brocks case anyway), are still battlers and this is a battle heavy saga. Heck, even bringing Cilan back before the other girls would be easier..

Riiiight, the battle heavy saga that’s barely even brought up competitive battling for 10 episodes.

If anything, this is the series easiest to bring anybody back for whatever reason given all the wide ranging fillers we’ve gotten. Frankly, i think iris is being brought back now just because she hasn’t gotten a cameo yet.

Momentai!
here is my prediction for iris
1.axew-fraxure-haxorus- I think anew will fully evolve and learn moves like flamethrower, dragon claw and stomping tanturm
2. emolga- done
3. excadrill-done
4. dragonite- same as in bw
5. gible-gabite - will learn sandstorm, rock slide, and iron head
6. kingdra- another dragon Pokemon she catches in johto and will have hydro pump, agility and hyper beam

i'm starting to hope that regardless of Axew's status, I really want Ash to get Scraggy out when Iris appears, who knows if Axew did evolve perhaps it could as well and they go at it like the bros they are.

I wonder how rage filled people would be if they gave her a Tyrantum.

While the parallels in advertising between the boys with the dogs and each getting a galar fossil may be isolated incidents, there are a couple twin Gen8 pokemon that I am curious about, namely the Applin branches, and the alternate forms of Urshifu and Toxtricity.

Ash likely wont get a Toxtricity, and neither Applin evolution seems popular enough that the writers would further expand Ash's rotation team with one. I could see Goh joining Ash on the tower trials as another story arc, alternatively Ash takes it with one of his rivals/ fights Mustard with the other form.

I think that they would evolve in the arc/ episode and not remain a Kubfu for long because of the series episodic nature.

If Ash does get a Kubfu I'm hoping one goes to Bea as well for her and Ash's eventual rematch. Though when the DLC content will be adapted is anyone's guess.

My one reservation with this is that while Bea may turn out to be Ash's main rival outside of the masters 8 (and he still has past rivals showing up), it's allot of investment into one single opponent.

There is the Lucario and Grapploct rivalry, Pikachu and Farfetch'd may want redemption, then you tackle on Ash and Bea having Urshifu. While it looks like Ash will have a rotating team, I wouldn't want them to invest too many pokemon into one opponent.

Actually Toxtricity is actually pretty popular heck it’s one of the most popular Pokémon when it comes to the gen 8 Pokémon. As for the Applin line Appletun is actually fairly popular as well, so if Ash doesn’t get them it wouldn’t be because of a lack of popularity.

Plus given the nature of the current series Ash getting a Toxtricity isn’t as unlikely as you think or are trying to make it sound if anything Toxtricity has the same chances as some other Pokémon being just 50/50 in that it really could go either way when it comes to whether Ash will get one or not.

I wasn't saying Toxtricity is unpopular, I was referring to the 'curse'. Neither Flapple or Appletun strike me as the same popular powerhouse as the rest of Ash's team. So while I could see Ash rotating his team, and they may use the boys to show off both forms, I don't think it's very likely.
