Charizard - was the last pokemon to return to Ash's team in the Original Series and became his team ace.

Sceptile - was Ash's last Pokemon from Hoenn to evolve and become an ace in the Sinnoh league against Tobias.

Infernape - was the last Pokemon to activate his ability and fully mastered, then became the ace of Ash's Sinnoh team.

Krokorok - the last Pokemon caught and later evolved as a Krookodile, became an ace from Unova Ash's team.

Greninja - got his final arc and became the ace of XYZ Ash's team.

Pikachu - last time fought Guzma before the league and then against Kukui became an ace.

Gengar - the last pokemon that gets a special gimmick and....

gengar is the only one who really looks weak for now of ash's current team, the rest of his team is pretty even in power or similar
