Previously, I thought that Marnie would appear because of the "popularity" of her fans, which would suit her in the Master Class.
England = football fans, popular players, Wembley Stadium.
Galar = Pokemon fans, especially for Marnie, one of the popular trainers from Galar, Wyndon Stadium.
They are almost the same.

I always figured that Marnie would've been taken Bea's place as Ash's Rival in the PWC, in fact I wonder why they didn't go that route in the first place but in retrospect, it's probably for the better that they didn't because knowing how the Anime works they probably would've just turned Marnie into a pseudo kuundere archetype with a crush on Ash
I'm baffled why they didn't use Bede tho. He would've made such a great rival to Ash. Maybe they thought he'd too similar to Paul and Trip?
