Pocket Monsters (2023) Speculation Thread

We’re 11 episodes into this arc, in a show whose story arcs never last more than 20+ episodes.

There’s definitely no way we’re finishing this plotline until next arc at the bare minimum.

Plus, if it was really the end, they would’ve advertised it as such by now,
Well, I suspect the story's plot of finding Rakua, may either carry over into the next upcoming arc after "Rayquza Rising", which may start in April of 2025, or start up during Fall of 2025 and conclude toward December of 2025.

However, I would assume the next story arc, after "Rayquza Rising", will likely be a "side adventure" arc, like the training arc and the story's plot of finding Rakua may conclude in a final arc that will happen in Fall of 2025 and conclude on December of 2025.

Whatever happens, I have a hard time imagining if the anime writers are planning to keep this story (Horizon) going until 2026, like some fans suspect, especially when a great portion of the story's plot (Terapogas memory, the collection of the six heroes, and the location of Rakua) will have possibly been fulfilled by 2025.

Unless, the anime introduces an epilogue, like what was done with the previous story in 2019, it feels as if the horizon series maybe reaching its climax by December of 2025. Just doesn't seem to be enough plot elements in the story to keep it going for very long. Feels like the story was intended to be a short adventure.

I mean, if it really comes down to it, they can always just do another story. There's enough unused SV elements to use, like the Treasures of Ruin.

Yeah, they could do another story. However, I'd be interested on how the plot would reasonably be of value to the overall story.

For example, if the anime writers were to introduce a plot of how the island of Rakua could be reached within a specified time within a year, such as a specific upcoming month within the season, then I would assume this would allow for the horizon series to include more side adventures for the RVT as they wait for Rakua to appear, which would allow for them the free time to explore more of Paldea and other regions around the pokemon world.

I hope this may be the case, as this would allow for Liko and Roy to catch more pokemon and allow for the anime to introduce more SV and other game elements into the anime.

Also, Merry Christmas everyone.

I hope that the theory that Pokémon Lucius is Gouging Fire turns out to be wrong. It seems too random, and besides, Paradox Mons appeared well after Lucius.
This Pokémon may still be Entei, just different from the one we saw.

I still have doubts about Gouging Fire being one of the six heroes considering Entei's reputation (lore) of being a pokemon that roams around the world and there being more than one of Entei species existing in the pokemon world, since they are said to be born from volcanoes.

Considering Gouging Fire's lore, its said to be a pokemon regenerated from a fossil and does not seem to be a pokemon that roams around the world as much, since there are little to no sightings of it being seen. Its reputation just doesn't seem to meet the description of Lucius's Entei.

I hope we get a plot twist of Entei vs Gouging Fire.
I agree with you and I tried to explain in the review thread of HZ78 why I think that Gouging Fire is just a lore and still not Lucius' Entei.

Anyways, the whole search for the Six Heroes raises a very interesting and fascinating question that I haven't discussed yet:
Considering that Lucius' story happend over 100 years ago (and that he might be "frozen" and still alive(?) in that huge dome created by Terapagos), how can it possibly be that his Pokemon are still alive?
Or to put it differently: How old can Pokemon get anyways?

Considering that most Pokémon are based on animals, it's possible that they live as long as their real counterparts (although it was said somewhere that evolution extends their lives).
As for the "Six Heroes", Rayquaza and G-Moltres are legendary Pokémon, so they can live for an incredibly long time, and as for the rest, maybe they were infused with Rakurium when Terapagos put up the barrier in Rakua.

In the flashback we can clearly see that Lucius was in Area zero when he faught Entei, it's obviously gauging fire and that Rystal was just confused

Honestly? I kind of feel like if they did another storyline, they’d to another original storyline like they’re doing with Rakua.

I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that they all seemingly got a part of Terapagos's power. They got surrounded in energy orbs and those same energy orbs are what they give back to Terapagos that seemingly brings back its strength.

Well, if its revealed that Lucius did in fact catch an ancient Entei (Gouging Fire), then I guess wouldn't be too surprised since Lucius's team consisted of very rare pokemon; A shiny Rayquza, a Hisuan Scyther (Kleavor) and Galarian Moltres.

With the RVT and Explorers entering Area Zero, some fans suspect the possibility of a wild Paradox Pokemon, aside from Entei, being acquired by a few of the cast. If Coral catches Scream Tails, then I probably wouldn't be surprise if Roy acquires Great Tusk, though I highly doubt Roy will get one.

I guess my only expectation now is that Roy's starter fully evolves (Skeledirge) by the ending of this arc.

I do think the team is reaching Laqua at the end of this arc. I highly doubted so before, but the dub’s second season is called “The Search for Laqua”. We have about 10-12 episodes left of this arc. The next 3-4 will be about Area Zero, and we’ve seen in the preview that they will fight Rayquaza there as well. Not that I like it, but It’s not that rushed that the remaining 7 episodes cover the journey to Laqua and the climax with the explorers.
The question is what would the next arc be about. Perhaps they lose the battle and Gibeon gets the Raqurium at it spreads its influence throughout the Pokemon World. Amethio could finally join the RVT and travel with them to solve what his grandad triggered. Who knows. We really need a Pokemon ZA trailer to see if it makes sense for Liko’s story to continue with this video game’s. I really hope this is not the end of this wonderful series.

Exceed would be explored more next year and they can use other regions we haven't been to yet in this series for further plots.

All the Rising Volt Tacklers from the Pokémon anime are gathered!
The Pokémon that have recently come on board the Brave Asagi seem to be enjoying their lives there as well. It looks like Friede accidentally drank some Yabacha tea though... You can use this picture as your header, so make sure to try it out, okay?

Great tusk is finally debuting, nice. But the Corocoro magazine doesn’t show the rest of the paradox anime artwork, right? I wonder if the Iron Hands and Valiant on the other leaked scan will debut or not. It will be interesting if the Future Paradoxes even appear at all….
