Pocket Monsters (2023) Speculation Thread

I think you might be taking the the past thing too literally when the games heavily imply they just come the future / past of an alternative universe.

They entire thing about the Paradoxs is that they don’t make sense and you’re not supposed to question this
I would assume that you’re suppose to question their (Paradox Pokemon) existence since the games emphasize that the lore of their history are a mystery (enigma) which may explain why the characters within the game’s universe have attempted to research what they are and are unsure of where they’re from.

The fact that these pokemon are labeled as being a “Paradox”, gives the reason to question what they are. It seems the anime is following in this same concept of idea regarding their mystery.

Aqua being on the chart is wild even though the dust has settled on that utterly shambolic manga ending.

Liko's popularity isn't waning and after the events of today's episode stands a chance of going higher next month

For what it's worth, the votes for this poll would actually PREDATE the manga ending. The dust hadn't even been kicked up yet.

To be fair THAT incident was a few chapters before the end. I think it might be worth adding the voting period as it can give us a good idea as to why, say, Akane won it in December.

Put it this way, I don't think Kana's making February...

So when it comes to future Paldean story arcs I wonder what they will cover. An obvious bet seems to be the Blueberry Academy but aside from that I really wonder. Team Star and Arven's stories seem to either be resolved offscreen or omitted, Id be surprised if they go back to Kitakami for Ogerpon, Pecharunt and the lousy three at this point. I felt they may have been setting up the Ruinous Treasures with Raifort but how would that really play into the narrative? And Im really worried and curious about whether best girl Nemona would have any more impact in the series now

It's from the 8th/9th/10th to the end of the month two months earlier. So November 9th to November 30th for this particular poll. That month's issue had a big 10 page article on Blue Lock with lots of interviews and features, so it's not a coincidence characters from that show are all over the poll.

I'm not sure because we already had a whole thread dedicated to Naranja Academy, so a second school thread is unnecessary.

Arven may have a bigger role in the Area Zero arc.
Team Star may still appear (even briefly) even if "Starfall Street" has already ended.

I mean them appearing isnt equal to a paldean arc. And its honestly very weird they didnt appear at the end of the terastal arc anyway.
I think if Arven was to play a major role he would have already

Not necessarily. If he wasn't supposed to be an important character, he wouldn't be shown.
Even note that Penny and Paldea E4 also seemed unnecessary at the beginning, but it turned out otherwise.

The BBC (UK national broadcaster) were allowed into OLM for today's Blue Peter episode. Not much to shout about, but I wonder if we'll see more from these two? Team Masuda are busy on Beyblade X and Team Kumemura Pokémon which are both on BBC iPlayer. My thought was OLM supporting the new Aardman Pokémon movie because Aardman is so close to the BBC.

I tangented from Horizons but I think it might be of note

Europeans getting real close in recent years. Helps season 2 of the dub comes out next week and yeah the whole Aardman collaboration series just a few hears from now.

Given the children's current level of skills as trainers, I never expected them to defeat Geeta, even if it was a 3 v 1.

As the top Paldea champion, I expected Geeta's battle prowess to be on par with Legendary Pokemon.

I hope I'm misunderstanding things, as it seems that the anime is breaking the trend of legendary pokemon and champion level trainers feeling less intimidating within the story from how they were portrayed in previous story arcs.

With that said, it appears the children may end up acquiring Rayquaza alot sooner then expected.

Huh, I didn't expect to see Card Captor Sakura there, I thought the anime ended awhile ago. Also I'm strangely not surprised and even sort of amused that the most popular anime/manga character in all of Japan (even if just for the month) is not a character from Pokemon, Naruto, or some other big and famous international franchise but is some random dude who is the star of a sports manga barely known outside of Japan.

It did, it's just an extremely popular franchise, so Sakura ranks nearly every month.

Blue Lock was airing at the time, and as mentioned, had a huge feature article in the magazine that exact month. And it IS extremely big and popular.
Wikipedia said:
By July 2024, the manga had over 40 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. In 2021, Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.
