Pokédex/Attackdex Errors

Discussion in 'Serebii.net Discussion' started by Serebii, Sep 5, 2006.

    Trainer Yusuf VolcaniNO

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/disarmingvoice.shtml

Meowstic-F's level is not listed for OR/AS.

    Edit(Merged previous posts): As a general rule of thumb;

TM and HM listings do not show Hidden Abilities. Surf's TM listing doesn't show Hidden Abilities for example.

Level-Up listings don't show OR/AS Levels for alternate forms. As mentioned above, Meowstic-F doesn't show up.

This hasn't been fixed by the way.

Wormadam Sandy Cloak doesn't show up.

On Itemdex, pressing Poké Doll links to:
    http://serebii.net/itemdex/pokédoll.shtml

When in reality, it should link to:
    http://serebii.net/itemdex/pokedoll.shtml

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/stealthrock.shtml

Wormadam formes are still not listed.

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/irondefense.shtml

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/magnetrise.shtml

    These lack Trash Forme.

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/absorb.shtml

Cacnea and Cacturne's HA, Water Absorb has not been listed.

    Edit: http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/mindreader.shtml

Ninjask's HA, Infiltrator, is not listed.

    http://serebii.net/attackdex-xy/naturepower.shtml

Energy ball should be Energy Ball.

Edit: This one is more techinical but Venomoth is described as having Silver Powder in OR/AS:

    http://serebii.net/pokedex-xy/049.shtml
    http://serebii.net/itemdex/silverpowder.shtml

    But ORAS page claims otherwise:

  4. The following is in regards to the RGBY Pokedex only (currently titled RBY Pokédex) - http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/

With Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow and Green about to be released and that area of your site probably about to receive some more traffic, it might be worth fixing a handful of errors/omissions on the RBY Pokedex. Not as long as it looks, just formatting things for (hopefully) your ease, using your Pokedex's terminology, layout and sorted by id number.

    ---1/3---

    Eevee Location Data Incorrect:
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/133.shtml
Lists that Eevee is available in Cerulean City, rather than Celadon City.

    ---2/3---

Lack Of Game Corner Location Data:
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/147.shtml - Dratini as Example.
    http://www.serebii.net/rb/gamecorner.shtml
Most pokemon that can be received at a Game Corner, do not have that listed as a place where they can be received.

An example of it being listed correctly would be Porygon:

    ---3/3---

Minor error (not pokedex, but related and found while working on the above, hope you'll forgive it):
    http://www.serebii.net/rb/gamecorner.shtml
    The line
    "Pokemon #030 Nidorina/ #033 Nidorino: 1200 Coins"
    should read something like
    "Pokemon #030 Nidorina (Red)/ #033 Nidorino (Blue): 1200 Coins"
as they are version exclusives to the Game Corner.

We only list things like Game Corner in those listings if it's the only place it can be

    Extra Info

We have a question with a friend.

When you seek for parents that learn some moves by level as pre-evolution (things like Nasty Plot Pichu-Pikachu, or Reversal Riolu-Lucario), aren't listed in the respective egg groups as an option for breeding (for example, Houndour don't consider any of both cited cases, etc). ¿These cases can be added to the lists? This can be seen at least in gen 4, 5 and 6 dex, and I think is an omission.

Thanks for your time, an excuse my english (still need practice).

It's a bit of a tricky thing to do, and requires some complex algorithms

This isn't so much an error, but a request to make sure that some bit of information is more clear.

For the Gen VI Pokedex, if there is a way to clarify that Shedinja will ONLY appear in a standard Pokeball and nothing else, that would be helpful. I was forced to soft reset a couple times until I ended up googling why Shedinja wasn't appearing. I'm only requesting this because it would be nice to have every tiny scrap of information available on this site. You've already put so much work into it already, just needs a few tiny tweaks and some clarifications.

Maybe put it on Nincada's page under the evolution and put something like: "Empty party slot, standard Pokeball ONLY" or something like that.

Well we do have this http://www.serebii.net/games/pokeball.shtml

  11. Focus Punch describes the Speed Priority as a -3, but fails to account for the change in generations. According to Bulbapedia:

    "Generation III
Focus Punch is a decreased priority move. The user of Focus Punch will charge up during the beginning of the turn it is executed, then attack at the end, unless it is hit by another Pokémon's attack before launching its own, in which case it will lose its focus and be unable to attack that turn. The user's focus will not be broken if its substitute is attacked, or if the opponent uses a status move (even if it deals damage, such as through the use of Pain Split).
Its charging phase has a priority of +8."

    Generation IV
Focus Punch's charging phase has a priority of +6. If the user is hit before the attack, it will say, "<Pokémon> used Focus Punch!" before it says the "<Pokémon> lost its focus and couldn't move!"

It should at least mention the priority change somewhere on the move's page.

Bulbapedia also talks about priority moves as well, Serebii mentions there's a range from +5 to -7, but according to Bulbapedia its +5 to -5. So I don't know who to believe.

I noticed that Spritzee and Swirlix isn't included in evo/trade section.

Maybe they changed it, but I assumed RBY went unchanged when released on VC.

Magmar and Electabuzz can't learn Metronome via TM anymore?

    SM Entries
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-sm/125.shtml
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-sm/126.shtml

RBY Entries which show Electabuzz and Magmar both knowing Metronome via TM.
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/126.shtml
    http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/125.shtml

It's a bit of a weird situation with those two, since they can't learn it via Move Tutor in Gen 3 games but now suddenly they have access to it.

New egg moves mostly don't show up.

Persian's Flatter, Sneasel's Throat Chop etc. do not show up.

    This is a general issue.

What do you mean "don't show up"? They show up fine for me

LOL I see another error. :p

Just to summarize, Magmar and Electabuzz are missing TM35 Metronome from their Transfer Only Moves list.

  17. Rockapheller

    Rockapheller Darkness of Umbreon

I don't know if it's a common mistake for Sun/Moon Pokédex but the moveset for Kadabra/Alakazam is completely wrong as far as I can recognize. Alakazam does not learn any attacking move until Lv. 21 now unlike the previous generations. But I am assuming all the previous generations' moves are copied from XY/ORAS and will be fixed in time?

EDIT: A second check, I am sorry it is not completely wrong. Only Confusion at Lv. 16 does no longer happen. Apart from that, the moves until Lv. 23 are definitely correct and the rest should be fine.

That's due to a glitch in the game. If you hacked in a Level 15 Kadabra and levelled it to Level 16, it would learn Confusion http://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/evolutionmoves.shtml

    High Jump Kick

The move Hi Jump Kick was renamed High Jump Kick from Gen 6 onward. This has caused an issue of broken links in the navigation menu at the top of the pages for this move. For example, if I navigate to the Gen 7 attackdex for this move, I can click the link to take me to the Gen 6 attackdex entry and it works fine, but then I click the link to take me to the Gen 4 attackdex entry and it cannot be found. However, if I remove the "gh" from "high" in the url, then it will take me to the correct page.

Just for reference, I made a list of broken/working links:
