Pokémon Battle Academy (Official RP)

Please read through this introduction or you may not understand some of the events. It looks like alot of writing, but read through all of this and everything will go smoothly.

Official Sign Up Thread

Just a simple, beginner style RPG.

The world of pokémon. Filled with excitement and adventure, Ash and his friends Brock and Misty, travel the world, with Ash aspiring to be a pokémon master... but we don't like that story anymore. We at Pokémon decided to actually let years pass, and three years after that, out new story begins.

Run by Lance of the Elite Four himself, the Pokémon Battle Academy has become the most talked about thing in every region. Trainers from around the globe have gathered at Slateport City in Hoenn, just to enter this facility. It is mainly designed for medium level trainers, with tutors, and many battling classes alike. Beginners are also welcome, with the simplest classes and specially trained tutors. Specialised contest teachers are also present at the academy to teach aspiring co-ordinators the basics surrounding combinations and appeals. Teachers are hand picked by Lance himself, with the idea of Strategy, and Power in mind. The Battle Academy definately is something that an aspiring trainer does not want to miss out on.

However, Lances true intentions in the creation of the academy are spread amongst rumours. They say that Lance is looking for one trainer, who he will call upon to do him 'a favour'. Other rumours say that Lance will be holding a tournament, and winner gets a shot at the elite four of any region he/she chooses. There are many other theory's surrounding this, but one not well known one holds alot of truth.

A secret organisation, known as The Crusade, have recently come out of hiding. They're intentions in the past were to revive a certain pokémon, which was held in a fossil. Now this may seem simple to ordinary Fossil reviving technology, but this one was different. It required three gems, or 'Relics', to be able to revive this pokémon. Its power was said to rival the power of Arceus, with the ability to change its type and resist attacks of certain types. Its power however was not as great as Arceus', and they modified its genetic makeup. Special forces managed to hunt the crusade down eventually, and put a stop to this. The escaped members, including the leader, fled and went into hiding, whilst the Fossil was put in a museum. However...

Friday 13th, June. The date was no coincidence, the date the fossil was stolen. Security tapes from the museum showed a strange man wearing a black cloak, staring at the fossil. It was midnight. The hooded figure stepped forwards, somehow passing through the rope that guarded it, and did not set off the security alarms. He raised his arm towards the fossil, and picked up the frame which contained the fossil. Still no alarms. Almost strolling out with the fossil, the man turned to the camera. The darkness of the room hid everything apart from a dark green eye, and the pale skin surrounding it. The fossil had been stolen by someone.

Now if this rumour spread, people would think to themselves, 'Why the battle academy then? Whats the point?' This is the reason the rumour isn't popular. It was just a hunch to them. But to Lance, it was more than that. You see, supposedley, the three relics to ressurect the fossil were hidden on the island. Lance was one of the few people that knew this, the only others being Cynthia and Alder. The Battle academy was a disguise, and protection of the relics.

And you as a trainer, are to become part of this great Academy, and furthermore, be part of possibly one of the greatest story's to ever be told in the world of Pokémon. You find yourself in slateport city, having taken a boat, plane, car, or any form of transport. You have already signed up for the academy prior to the trip, and you have exactly 30 minutes before the boat leaves. You may have time to socialise beforehand, but most should logically be done on the boat, or after you are placed into your dormitorys(dorms). There are 4 dorms; The Artic-Uno Dorm, rooms designated 1A, 1B, etc, The Zap-Dos dorm, rooms designated 2A, 2B, and... you get the picture. The fourth dorm is the Teachers Dorm, which is self explanitory. They are each located on four different parts of the island. The island is divided into 4 sections. There are three spits of land branching off from the island, the dorms being situated at the tip of each spit. When you get off the boat, you will arrive at a place called Dragonite Harbour, which has stalls with pokéballs and merchandise, and holds fairs occasionally. Wild pokémon do live on the island, but in small numbers, so catching pokémon is limited. So, here we are in slateport city. You must be nervous, because you're about to become part of this academy.
Rules:
- Standard SPPF roleplaying rules - If you haven't read them already, dont bother.
- ABSOLUTELY NO GODMODDING - An RP i joined had a person that did this continuously, and I will not stand for it. Two strikes and you're out for this.
- If your character is to have a romance with another, please no 'Love at first sight' bull, unless you have clarified that your characters hae met before and already has a crush or something like that.
- If you don't agree with something someone has put, or you feel it offensive, don't start flaming the person and causing arguements, tell me. I will not stand for rule breaking in my rp and I WILL deal with it.
- Be active. If you are on holiday/any other reason you can't post, tell me beforehand and I will exempt you of this rule. If not, not posting atleast 4 times within a week, you are out.
- Don't take control of the RP. I've also had a problem with this in an RP, where the person completely made up his own plot and controlled the rp, no names. I have a plot layed out, I will decide when events occur, I AM THE GAME MASTER, You are NOT.
- If i sound strict, I apologise but it is only because I want the RP to run smoothly.
-Please double space between paragraphs, it is so much easier to read.
- When posting, put the name of the character you are posting as as the title of the post, as I have done. If you have multiple characters, divide them however you want, but so we can see that they are two different characters.
- Have fun!

Rules extra:
- When evolving pokémon, pm me beforehand. Your chances of evolving your pokemon will be assessed by your post quality, and how many battles said pokémon has been in. If you have terrible post quality, you can still evolve your pokemon if it has won alot of battles. However dont just post npc battles so you always win, and if i see you doing this you will get a warning. In the case of item evolutions/trading, they are exempted from this rule. However it is advised not to use evolution stones straight away, as the pokemon will not learn certain moves. Trading is risky, and make sure you can trust the character you are trading with. If your pokemon gets stolen, then you should'e chose a better trading partner. :p
- When catching a pokémon, also pm me first. This will mainly be assessed on your post quality aswell. You can decide which pokemon you want to catch, but I will decide whether you catch it or not. It also depends on rarity. Say for instance you wanted to catch an Absol, or a stong single evolution pokemon, you will need to have a better than average post count to do so.
- You're probably thinking 'Well that gives you an unfair advantage, you can catch whatever you want.' Wrong. Judging by all your first posts, I will pick a 'Co-Game Master'. They can give warning, but not ban people. If they see something that deserves a second warning, they can leave me a message so I can infract them accordingly. They will have the job of this whenever I would like to catch a pokémon.
- If i find you haven't read the rules, you will get a warning.
Everyone, have fun again.

"Yes i'd like to buy some potions please." a man explained to a market salesman. His black long hair blew out of his face, only to reveal shades that hid his eyes. A large purple rodent sat by the mans leg, staring up at the shop keeper, and happily exclaimed "Nidoooo!"

"Heh. Sounds like you're going on a big adventure RIco." the salesman replied. "How many do you want?"

"You know it uncle. I've signed up for the Battle Academy. I'll become stonger than ever after training there!" Rico replied, holding his clenched fist up, pumped up and ready for the challenges that he would come across. Calming down slightly, he said "Four please."

His uncle looked at him skeptically. He knew what the Battle Academy was, but he was unsure about Rico going so far away. However, he knew that Rico could take care of himself. Taking some potions from the bottom shelf of his stall, he placed them in a bag, slightly pausing for a moment. There was no one in the queue for his stall, he had time. "Well I know someone who would like to say goodbye before you leave" his uncle smirked, pulling out one of his pokeballs, releasing his huge version of Rico's Nidorino. It raised its arms high and yelled "Nidooooo!"

"Ah Nidoking! Its been a while." Rico was incredibly happy to see him, he hadn't seen Nidoking since he first got his Nidoran. Nidoking smiled, and turned to stare at Nidorino. They were somewhat rivals. Nidoking clearly outmatched Nidorino in strength, but Nidorino classed him as his rival. Nidoking chuckled and put his huge hand on Nidorino's head, as if to say 'So long.' Nidorino smiled and nodded. Another customer came along to the stall and Rico had to move.

"Wait Rico!" his uncle shouted after him, Rico immediately turning and coming back. "Take this. Dont use it yet, you remember when you're meant to use it right?" he muttered, handing a dirty purple stone to him.

"Th-This is... a moon stone?" Rico stuttered, staggered by what his uncle had given him. "Yeah, I know when to use it, when Nidorino learns toxic spikes right?" he looked down at Nidorino, him and his pokemon looking at eachother with a serious face. He looked back to his uncle and shook his hand. "I'll miss you uncle, thankyou." he finally walked off, removing his sunglasses and revealing his black eyes, swishing his hair out of his face at the same time. Nidorino followed shortly behind, looking at the other pokemon gathered around Slateport city. These would be his friends, and his opponents at the same time. Rico did the same with the people around, and felt the same. "Dont worry Nidorino, we'll win against all of these." he said, Nidorino nodding in agreement.

"All right guys here we are almost at the Pokémon Battle Academy" Cal said with excitement

"I wonder if there is an entrance exam of some sort..." Cal wondered

"Squrtle!" Blaster shouted pointing at the ferry leaving Battle Academy, they will be using

"I wonder how different contest classes and battle classes are? I have signed up for both for Blaster and Elekid for battle and Dawn for contest as Dawn can't battle well and has a weak sp attack for a psychic pokemon..." Cal thought

Just then a girl with red hair, a black shirt and blue jeans came by...

"I challenge you to a battle!" she said

"A-a battle now?!" Cal said shocked.

"No one has ever challenge me to a battle OK lets see what you got" I said

"Hm This will be a 1v1 Go Blitz!" she shouted

a Blitzle came out of its Pokeball

"Thunder type huh?" Cal said

"Go Blaster!" Cal said

Blaster stood in front

A crowd soon from as the battle started

"Blaster use Aqua Ring! followed with withdraw' Cal shouted

Blaster withdraw into the shell as he used aqua ring

"Blitz use Charge followed with shock wave!"

Blitz charge up energy and strike Blaster with the electricity

"Follow up with Take Down" the girl ordered

"Blaster use Water Gun full power" Cal ordered

Blaster's water gun hits Blitz with a critical hit

"Blitz!" the girl screamed

"Lets finished this!" Cal said

Blaster jumped above the soaked Blitz

"Cage Of Ice" Cal said

Blaster released an Ice Beam aim directly below himself where Blitz was standing soaking wet...

Blitz was frozen solid, Blaster was the winner

"Yes my first victory in the Battle Academy!" Cal cheered

"Congrats I'll be seeing you" the girl said

"By the way whats your name?" Cal asked

"Yuri" she said before returning Blitz into the pokeball and disappeared into the crowd

"Well we better board the ferry now I guess, after all we have enough potions and I bet they have at least have a healing terminal " Cal said...

Slateport City Marketplace

"Ooh these plushies are absolutely adorable! I'll take them." A red head girl said to a salesmen in an outdoor marketplace. The girl handed him a large sum of money, then the salesman handed her a bag containing her purchaces, which she then handed the bag to a boy following behind her, who was already carrying a large amount of shopping bags already.

"Shouldn't we be waiting for the boat Mari?" The dark haired boy asked. A Castform was sitting on his shoulder. He was carrying a lot of bags that belonged to his friend, which contained berries, Pokemon plushies, and other essential items.

"Oh relax Tim." Mari replied. "It's not gonna be here for another half an hour, so we have time to kill. Plus, the marketplace is here, and I've got shopping to do." With that she happily skipped along to another vendor.

"Castform." Casty the Castform said with a slight giggle.

"I don't know what your laughing at. If you had arms you'd be helping me carry stuff too." Tim said to his Pokemon as he followed Mari.

(They can't always be super long. :/)

"Hmm.....this place is just too overcrowded."Akoto moaned as he walked around slateport city.

"Aipom! Aipa-Aipa!" said Yo-yo

"Heh, you seem pumped for this, eh Yo-yo?" Asked Akoto

Aipom gave a big grin, obviously excited and ready to battle at any time.

"We have time before the boat leaves. I guess we can look around.......i wonder if they sell any good items here."

Akoto went to a nearby poke'mart and stocked up on some supplies, basic stuff like potions and antidotes.

".....Yo-yo...should i try and....talk and talk to frostbite again? You know, about the whole Sharp Claw situation?" Akoto asked Yo-yo

Yo-yo's face suddenly turned a little grimmer, and he shook his head not knowing what to say.

"Sigh*....i mean i know that evolution would make him stronger, but....i dont get why he refuses to evolve......am i wrong in trying to convince him to?...I just want sneasel to be the best it can be, but at the same time i want him to be happy...."

Akoto sighed again.

"Maybe i can get some advice from someone on the boat? Someone with experience in these kinda things......"

Akoto took out sneasels pokeball.

".....oh well. Come on yo-yo lets looks around some more before the boat leaves."

(Sorry if its kinda short.)

Nidorino eyed up all the pokemon that he and Rico walked past. It was good to see so many people joining up for the academy, and good to know wht kind of competition he would have, Nidorino simply gave the look of 'I'm better than you dont mess with me' to them all. Re-entering the market place, he noticed that his uncle was off duty, and decided to look around the other stalls.

"Ooh plushies!" he heard a girl cry, and turned around, noticing Mari and Tim. He smiled and attempted to walk off, but noticed something. The boy had a castform. It was an extremely rare pokemon in these parts, and he had been dying to see one. He decided it best to talk to the boy.

"Hey, thats a castform right? I've always wanted to see one, there extremely rare in these parts." he said to the boy. Upon realising that he seemed rude, he corrected himself. "Sorry, I get like that around rare pokemon. My names Rico, this is Nidorino." he held his hand, signalling Nidorino to say hello. It let out a cry, and then looked at Castform, weighing up the competition yet again. He smirked.

While Mari ran off to buy more things, Tim was approached by a boy who looked close to his age. He had a Nidorino with him.

"Hey, that's a Castform right?" The boy said. "I've always wanted to see one, there extremely rare in these parts."

Tim opened his mouth to say something, but then the other boy realized he forgot to introduce himself and spoke again.

"Sorry, I get like that around rare Pokemon. My name's Rico, and this is Nidorino." He gestured to his Pokemon. The poison type let out a cry, then looked at Casty and smirked.

"Yeah, I got him from my dad." Tim said. "He was a scientist at the weather institute." There was some sadness in Tim's voice after mentioning his father, but he quickly perked up again. "I'm Tim by the way, and this is Casty. Nice to meetcha."

The Weather Pokemon let out a cry and grinned.

"So, I'm guessing your going to the Pokemon Battle Academy too?" Tim asked

Noticing Tim pause when he mentioned his Dad made Rico think. Gears clicked in his brain as he understood why he grew sad. Something must've happened there... I better not apologise though, bringing it up again will just make things worse. Nidorino looked up at Tim at this, also noticing his pause. He thought for a little while, then looked back up at castform.

"Yeah im here as a trainer. Nidorino and the rest of my pokemon are all eager to battle." he said patting Tim's castform on the head a little. "I take it you're a co-ordinator with a cute lil' guy like this?" Nidorino tugged at his leg because of this; making assumptions of other peoples pokemon was something Nidorino didn't like. Rico shrugged off Nidorino, not realising why Nidorino was annoying him.

While Akoto was walking around, Yo-yo was getting overly entusiastic, and started running around at full speed.

"!! Yo-Yo! Quick running, your gonna run into someone!"

Yo-yo didnt even hear Akoto. He kept running so fast that Akoto could bearly keep up. Dodging person after person, Yo-yo kept on speeding through the streets.

"Argh, Yo-yo! Its so diffiult when he gets like this- Jolt! Help out and catch Yo-yo!"

Akoto through the pokeball into the air, and out came Jolt, the Luxio with an attitude.

Jolt dashed down the streets, unti he finally got close to Yo-yo. Jolt used shock wave to finally put Yo-yo to a stop, making him land near 2 boys with a nidorino and castform.

When Akoto went up to Yo-yo, he picked him up, for he was a little dazed by the shock wave.

"Jolt, i think that might have been going a little overboard..."

"Lux!" Jolt scoffed as he turned his head.

"*Sigh*...."

Just then, Jolt noticed the Nidorino standing next to one of the two boys talking. He went up to it and gave it a scornful glare.

"Argh, Jolt dont go bothering them!"

Akoto ran up to them, trying to prevent Jolt from starting a fight. But Jolt was still glaring Nidorino.

Casty smiled when Rico patted on the head. "Castform."

"Nah, I'm personally not into that kind of thing." Tim replied, "I'm here as a trainer as well. "My friend who's coming with me is a Co-Ordinator though."

As if she had been called, Mari passed Rico and went over to Tim, both hands contained shopping bags which were filled with all sorts of things. "I'm baaack." She said "Your not going to believe this, I actually found a Castform plushie at one of the stands." She pulled out the plush toy from one of the bags, and showed it to Tim. "Isn't it adorable? It was at a good price too." At that moment, was when she noticed Rico. "Oh, who's your friend?"

"And here she is, Rico this is my friend Mari." Tim gestured to his friend.

"Hello." Mari said politely.

Horns blared across the Slateport Docks, as a host of ferries, yachts and fishing boats cruised in and out of the city. Moats of light shimmered across the ocean as the waves beat down on the beaches, carrying with them the salty tang of adventure. Leant on the railings, Don stared out wide-eyed across the port. The air was alive, crackling with the noise and bustle of the crowd. A thousand faces, a thousand stories, a thousand different possibilities. In a place like this, he mused, anything can happen.

Something hard rapped him across the leg, buckling in his knee. “Mawile!”

Grinning ruefully, Don looked down at the figure besides him. “Can’t you just enjoy the scenery?” he asked imploringly.

Suri stuck out her lip. “Maw.”

“I suppose not,” he chuckled. With a sigh, Don left his post and glanced across the quay. A few stragglers were gathering together, but they had a good while yet before the ferry. “Come on then, let’s check the place out.”

Like everywhere, the marketplace was full of the city rush. Young trainers swarmed the narrow streets, all manners of strange exotic Pokemon tagging along beside them. Some faces flickered nervously from stall to stall, some lit up by waves of excitement, others lost within the tide of their own thoughts. But on every face, the same expression gleamed – anticipation.

Further from Fallarbor than he’d ever been, Don felt entirely at home.

As he examined a miniature steam boat, Don felt an incessant tug at his sleeve. He glanced down, to see Suri bouncing on the spot, eyes wide and imploring. She was a picture. “Mawile-maw?”

He followed her gaze. Around the store beside them, a small knot of trainers were gathered around what, from first glance, appeared to be a small, beaming puffball. Don paused, caught between irritation and curiosity, and gave in.

“Alright, alright.” Smiling faintly, he set the boat down.

“Mawile!”

“No Suri, you can’t stroke it.”

“Mawwwwww…”

As Mari approached, he chuckled slightly at how she was completely in control of Tim. Nidorino also chuckled at the Castform plushie, thinking it to be embarrassing. "Hey there, i'm Rico. I hear you're a Co-Ordinator." Rico said, whilst smiling. "This here is my partner, Nidorino" he made the same gesture he had when he introduced Nidorino to Tim, however Nidorino's eyes were fixed elsewhere.

A luxio had approached Nidorino, as if it was eager to battle. Nidorino and Luxio continued to stare eachother down, until the Luxio's trainer appeared and tried to stop the fighting. "Nidorino snap out of it! Save the battling for on the boat." Rico shouted in nidorino's ear, attempting to pull him back. Nidorino was having none of it, and Rico felt it best to return him.

"Sorry about that, Nidorino doesn't back down to a fight..." he trailed off, looking at Luxio. He could tell it would be an interesting battle between those two, and although he didn't know how strong it was, but being Rico, his overconfidence would get the better of him yet again.

"I'm Rico." he said, not forgetting his manners this time. "Your luxio looks eager to fight Nidorino, how about we battle? I hear the boat has a battleground on it, we can arrange it on the boat. Whaddyou say?" Rico smirked, giving a look into the trainers eyes, letting him know that he wouldn't lose.

Once Akoto had got ahold of Jolt, Nidorino's trainer managed to stop his Nidorino from taking Jolt up on his little "battle offer".
Akoto was pretty embarassed by this, and was about to apologize when Nidorinos apologized instead. He said his name was rico, and asked akoto if he wanted to battle on the boat, for he noticed Jolts eagerness to fight.

"Oh, umm....sure. So sorry about this. My Luxio has a bit of an attitude problem" Akoto said looking down at Luxio. He then returned Luxio back into its pokeball.

"Your Nidorino looked ready to fight Jolt head on. I can tell its pretty brave."

Yo-yo climbed up onto Akoto's shoulder.

"This little guy had ran off so i sent Luxio out to try stop him. I guess i should have known something like this would happen, what with all these people and pokemon everywhere. Luxio can pick a fight with almost anybody-"

Right then, Yo-yo jumped off of Akoto's shoulder, and started running again.

"Ah- Yo-yo! Ugh, sorry i gotta go after him quick before runs into someone. If i see you on the boat, ill be sure to battle ya!" Akoto said as he started running to catch aipom.

OCC: Sorry about late start. I was busy. Quick question: Does the Battle Acadamy have Wi-Fi? Dawn has a laptop.

Dawn Randal,
Staleport market.

Dawn Randal was looking around the market. She hoisted up her green bag, and dug through it. The girl pulled out her pink wallet, and took out the money her parents gave her. Not much. Dawn frowned at this, but contunued to walk around. She came to a shop where many people where gathered.

Before she drew any nearer, Dawn sent out Conch, the childish Oshawott. She drew nearer to them, but didn't say anything. "Conch, lightly throw you shell near them." whispered Dawn in Conch's ear.

He did so, and now it was her chance. She was hoping they were friendly. Dawn walked of to the group, and started to try to talk them.

"Oh, hi. I'm sorry, but my Oshawott accidentally threw his shell over here. Mind if I get it?" After she said that, she knew that she should of just came up without the shell plan, and said "Hi".

OOC: Rooms have computers for research purposes, but can be used for whatever. You dont need a laptop.

Before Rico could reply to Akoto, he scarpered, chasing after the aipom. Releasing Nidorino again, he kneeled down to him. Nidorino frowned at Rico, unhappy that he had been returned.

"Look Nidorino, save the battling for when we have time. The boat is gonna be leaving soon. We can battle on the boat, save it for then." Nidorino frowned again, gave a "humph", and turned his head. Rico smirked and said, "Besides, that luxio will be a piece of cake." Nidorino replied to this, with a smirk of his own.

Nidorino sensed something nearby him, and his senses proved correct. A shell had been lobbed over his head, and it landed infront of him. Nidorino immediately turned around, whilst Rico inspected the shell. Nidorino's instinct kicked in again, staring down the sea otter, as if to say 'I'm better than you.' A girl came running past, saying that the shell belonged to her Oshawott. It seemed too coincidental for Oshawott to have lobbed its shell towards some trainers, and Rico figured that the girl was trying to find an excuse to say hi. Rico smiled.

"Sure go ahead." Rico said, stepping to one side and allowing the girl to come through. "Looks like you're here for the academy aswell. I'm Rico." He noticed Nidorino eyeing Oshawott down and nudged him with his leg. Nidorino payed no attention and continued to stare it down.

"I'm Dawn, Dawn Randall," said Dawn. She noticed Rico's Nidorino staring at Conch. The little Oshawott was staring back, but he looked scared. Normally he'd hide behing his scalchop, but he threw it. Another flaw with my plan, Dawn thought as she picked up the shell and handed it back to Conch.

Conch just hid his face behind his shell, but he was happy it returned. Dawn decided to give the Nidorino a real stare-down, so she sent out Lady, her Snivy. Once sent out, she saw the purple pokemon's stare. Lady pushed Conch out of the way, and gave a famous Snivy leer to the Nidorino.

"So... Who are you guys?" Dawn pointed to the others near her.

Mazu Sun
Slateport City Harbor

Busy places had always irritated Mazu. Too much noise, too many people, it was just too busy of a place for him. Luckily, he only had to come to the harbor to board the ferry to the academy and things would be quieter. As he strode down many of the piers, looking for the boat, he observed pokemon that were out and walking with their trainers, trying to see if any of them were just pets, or battle hardened warriors. To his dismay, there weren’t many pokemon out and about so he ignored the crowd as he spotted the boat. Close to the boat were many trainers and students who were showing off their pokemon who were having the stare downs. He smirked when he saw a nidorino glaring at a snivy who had its typical smirk glare at the nidorino. From type alone, the nidorino would have the advantage, but he had seen plenty of battles where type didn’t mean a thing at all. But from his view, it would definitely be hands down nidorino if it listened to the commands of the trainer who seemed to be struggling with keeping him from outright starting a battle. It did give him a thought though, but he decided against showing any of his pokemon.

Shifting the weight of his backpack a bit, he walked towards the group, intending to ignore them all and wait till it was time to board the ship and leave. He might battle a few if a pokemon catches his interest. He smirked slightly at the thought of a trainer being completely baffled when their pokemon become so confused from his style of battling. He took out his black pokegear to check the weather near the academy and was pleased to know that it would only have a few small clouds in the area, but mostly clear.

"So...who are you guys?" Dawn asked pointing to Mari and Tim, who were the closest ones to her.

"I'm Mari, and that's Tim." Mari answered before Tim could respond. "We're also here to attend the academy. He's a trainer and I'm a Co-Ordinator."

Tim grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. Mari had pretty much said everything there was to say. He then noticed that Dawn had sent out her Snivy for some reason. It had shoved the Oshawott aside and was giving Nidorino a staredown. "Uh...you might want to watch those two." Tim said, pointing at the two Pokemon. "By the look of it, they look ready to kill each other."

Dawn nodded. She knew that they may start a fight. She started digging through her green bag and pulled out an oran berry. She lightly tossed it in front of the Nidorino, and told him, "Please stop staring. I don't want to battle now." She was about to pet him, but Dawn remembered the spikes.

"Anyway, I was gonna do some shopping before the ferry leaves. I'll see you all on the ride!" She waved to them, and returned all her Pokemon. Then she moved on to a shop selling pokeball seals.

"Ai?" Yo-yo said, not understanding why Akoto would want to.

"Rico,....he had a Nidorino. Nidorino evolves with a moon stone. Im just wondering if maybe he can give me some advice on what i should do about sneasel evolving, since they both have similar methods of evolving...."

Akoto quickly ran back to where rico was when he met him before. However, upon arrival Nidorino now was staring down a differnt foe, a female snivy.

He walked up to rico, trying not to disturb the 2 pokemon.

"Hey, Rico."

Akoto was about to try and talk tom him when suddenly, Yo-yo seemed to have hearts in its eyes. It was looking at the snivy.

"Rico i have....a question. Would you be willing to hear me out. I know we just met a little while ago but its....serious. I-"

Yo-yo jumped down from Akoto's shoulder. It rushed right next to the female snivy, apparantely infactuated.

"Yo-yo what are you....?"

But the trainer returned snivy, leaving yo-yo somewhat dissapointed.

Seeing there were other people around, Akoto introduced himself.

"Uhh....Hi, my name is Akoto. Sorry for barging in like this, but i wanted to talk to Rico. And you two are?"

With Dawn's leaving, Nidorino backed down. The leer hadn't affected Snivy at all, but a leer from Nidorino would send any pokemon packing. "Nidorino, what did I tell you about doing that?" Nidorino smirked, fired up and ready for a battle with anything. "Heh. You'll get to battle on the boat Nidorino." He turned to Mari and Tim. The unforseen circumstances made him turn his back to them and it seemed slightly rude.

"Sorry about that, Nidorino can't resist. He doesn't like to be beat by anyone." Rico said, looking down at Nidorino, who was still smirking. Nidorino had sensed another pokemon nearby. Aipom and Akoto were coming over, and Nidorino yet again glared at Aipom, weighing up the competition.

"Hey, what did you wanna talk about Akoto?" Rico replied, not knowing what Akoto meant. Not many wanted to 'talk about something' to Rico, as he was lazy at best before he met Nidoran, and it had imprinted on people. It was a change in Rico's life, having friends to ask advice from him.
