Black & White (PG-13)
I wrote a 150 page Pokémon script last December and this is one of my first times really putting it out there, so here it goes... It's written in proper screenplay format, so if it gets a little confusing let me know and I'll try to make it a little clearer to read as it goes on. Just tell me how the prologue reads for you and I'll try fixing it up as best as I can!
Genre: Action/Adventure & Comedy
Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence, language, crude humor, and some sensuality
The story itself takes a lot of nods from various Pokémon media, including the Pokémon Black & White games themselves, Pokémon Special/Adventures manga, and The Electric Tale of Pikachu in particular, but it is all basis for my own original stories... Hope you enjoy!
Prologue
N (V.O.)
I don’t know what it is. But just being around nature... gives me this... This rush.
EXT. GARDEN - DAY
A young child sits among a bed of flowers. His eyes are wide and full of life, of intrigue to the world around him. He climbs on the back of a massive, red creature with massive eyebrows that are alight of flames... It’s called a DARMANITAN.
The usually aggressive animal is surprisingly GENTLE with the child, leaping from its place on the ground and swinging on TREE BRANCHES and doing FLIPS in the air like an ENORMOUS MONKEY. The child giggles, holding onto the Darmanitan’s red hair. It lands on its feet and the child keeps giggling...
N (V.O.)
Ever since I was young, I had a connection to the world around me. The creatures that inhabited it. The creatures I saw as equals.
Other creatures - a small mammal with red and yellow eyes and puffy cheeks called a PATRAT, and a black and red fox called ZORUA - join the child. He pets them, smiling down at them.
EXT. FOREST - DAY
Young N stands among the foliage, watching as his friend Darmanitan is DRAGGED into a red and white capsule called a POKE BALL, tears well in his eyes as a young girl picks up the capsule and grins happily. She looks at the Pokédex in her hands.
He stares at the Pokédex -- eyes watering -- he sneaks away into the foliage again, crying to himself...
N (V.O.)
I lost so many of my dear Pokémon friends... Taken from me by those who call themsleves ’Trainers’ who aspire to catch them all and document them like test subjects. These ’Trainers’ supposedly grow bonds with their Pokémon, putting them through battles with each other to gain experience and grow stronger...
EXT. FOREST - NIGHT
A plump, mean looking boy lets a small, cheery little bird Pokémon, called a PIDOVE, out from its Poké Ball.
N (V.O.)
...Some of these Trainers truly have the heart, while others are simply cold. If a Pokémon is not deemed strong enough, they’re abused verbally and physically before being let go altogether.
The boy tosses the Ball to the forest floor and STOMPS on it. It shatters to pieces. TIGHT on the Pidove’s heartbroken expression, tears forming as its trainer walks away, leaving it behind. It tries to fly after him...
...But the trainer sends out his MUNNA, a floating pink creature with a purple floral pattern on its side. It uses telepathic Psychic powers to stop the Pidove in its tracks, throwing it around uselessly against trees. It then drops it. The trainer smirks, satisfied, before recalling Munna and carrying on his merry way.
PAN down to the Pidove -- Eyes closed, beat up badly --
INT. N’S CASTLE - DAY
N, now in his early twenties, with long hair and a vacant expression, dressed in royal garment, stands at the end of a long red carpet. He has women named ANTHEA and CONCORDIA - one on each side - escorting him down the carpet.
Baby blue hooded figures stand on both sides of the carpet, watching N make his way down.
N (V.O.)
I’ve been dreaming of a world that doesn’t exist for too long. It’s time for a change... it’s time for a brand new world. A world of no more abuse, no more battles, no more pain...
N makes his way to the throne. Anthea and Concordia disperse behind the massive chair’s arms, one on each side.
A massive man, burly, with a very intimidating robe that depicts a bright eye surrounded by plenty of designs imprinted on it, with a golden eyepiece over his left eye, steps forward. His name is GHETSIS. He holds out a bright red crown, encrusted with diamonds. He places it atop N’s head as he takes a seat on the throne.
N (V.O.)
There is too much gray in the world. It’s time for it to simply be just... black and white.

The Team:
Sheldon the Oshawott --> Dewott --> Samurott (received prior to Chapter 1, evolved in Chapter 5, evolved again in Chapter 15)
A hardy, loyal, dependent but easily discouraged Oshawott with dreams of one day becoming a mighty Samurott. Wore Samurott armor on his head in order to pretend he is as mighty as his evolved form, until he lost to N and dumped the armor, feeling not worthy enough to wear it. Having evolved into Dewott during the Striaton Gym battle and then again into Samurott in the final gym battle in Opelucid City, Sheldon is now very confident.
Pikachu --> Raichu (caught in Chapter 2, evolved in Chapter 10)
A rowdy, rambunctious, disobedient and quite frankly violent Raichu (formerly Pikachu) that does not take a liking to Hilbert at all. Since evolving, Raichu has been shown to be more obedient, though he still takes the opportunity to shock Hilbert whenever he can.
Sewaddle --> Swadloon --> Leavanny (caught in Chapter 4, evolved in Chapter 7, evolved again in Chapter 11)
As a Sewaddle, she is a fairly energetic member of the team, remaining so upon evolution, quite the opposite of Swadloon's mopey appearance! However, she is not very fond of being knocked out of trees while sleeping, possessing a quick temper.
Archeops (caught in Chapter 6)
An angry Archeops that was captured from Fennel by Team Plasma. It was part of their plan for 're-fossilization'. Archeops quickly learns to trust Hilbert. She is very loyal and powerful, if not fragile.
Sandile --> Krokorok --> Krookodile (caught in Chapter 7, evolved in Chapter 8, evolved again in Chapter 10)
Krookodile is strong, he knows it and he's proud of it. He can get a bit carried away in his endeavors to show off his mighty power. He's also not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, evidenced as a Sandile when his entire pack fled the scene when Hilbert attacked, whilst this particular Sandile remained oblivious to the situation (leading to his capture). However, what he lacks in smarts, he makes up for in power.
Minccino --> Cinccino (caught in Chapter 10, evolved in Chapter 18)
Its tiny stature allows it to be useful in battle. Evolving at N's Castle and participating in the final battle, Cinccino is known for its Skill Link ability
Meloetta (caught in Chapter 19)
Meloetta was captured by Team Plasma, who used her haunting song to brainwash people into releasing their Pokémon. Rescued by Hilbert, who catches her with a Heal Ball
Released:
Zekrom (caught in Chapter 17, released in Chapter 20)
Zekrom was caught by Hilbert in order to face off against N and Reshiram. It was released following the battle.

The Team:
Axew --> Fraxure --> Haxorus (received prior to Chapter 4, evolved in Chapter 11, evolved again in Chapter 15)
Iris's first Pokémon. Received from her grandfather at a young age. Childish and inexperienced as an Axew, upon evolution it proves its strength by defeating a wild Druddigon in battle and allowing Iris to catch it. Showing off its newfound strength and confidence in the gym battle against Hilbert, Fraxure evolves into a mighty Haxorus.
Servine (received prior to Chapter 4)
An elegant, vain Pokémon with a love for dancing. Somewhat vain. Given to her to start off her trio of Grass, Water, & Fire types.
Ducklett (received prior to Chapter 4)
A bit stupid, if not powerful. Given to her to start off her trio of Grass, Water, & Fire types.
Egg --> Larvesta (received prior to Chapter 4, hatches Chapter 9)
A Pokémon egg. Given to her to complete her trio of Grass, Water, & Fire types. Unknown what is inside.
Deino (caught Chapter 9)
Caught on the Driftveil Drawbridge. It is a bit meek. A child, but still a tough battler, this is a special Deino as it knows the mysterious 'Destiny Bond' attack, a move not native to its species.
Druddigon (caught Chapter 11)
Caught inside the depths of the Dragonspiral Tower. It is a very territorial and brutal fighter. However, despite its power packing an immense punch, this old Dragon's endurance is lacking
