Pokémon Champions General Discussion

Based on? Usually Nintendo says the game is compatible if it is, rather than listing it as untested and unknown compatibility. Serebii also only says it's available on iOS android and Nintendo Switch and no mention of Nintendo Switch 2.
Considering that Pokémon Champions is supposed to be where the main meta takes place and the fact that starting with Winds & Waves all main series Pokémon games will be exclusively for the Switch 2, it’s pretty safe to say that Pokemon Champions will compatible on the Switch 2 at some point.

I'm wondering if there are any story coded important NPC battles coded into the game...

Because Pokemon champions doesn't have NFE pokemon Crabominable can finally learn Crabhammer (normally it only gets it via its pre-evolution), While I'm not the biggest fan of a lack of the pre-evolutions this is one fringe benefit.

I have always wished for an official version of showdown that I can transfer my in-game teams to. Therefore, I'm enjoying champions quite a bit as it is, and I am happy to give it time to improve without much complaint. Are there threads for discussing strategy yet, or is this the place to do it?

It's a Switch game, the Switch 2 is inherently backwards compatible with Switch games, especially the ones that released after the Switch 2 launched.

The only time Switch games had issues with compatibility with the Switch 2 was if they were early in the life cycle, and they were mostly 3rd party games. The only notable exception was, for some odd reason, Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

I heard there's no 6v6 full battles in private matches. Pretty lame..........

Considering what its intended for, I'm not surprised.

Singles has not been the official format for a long time and if there was any singles, it was going to go with the in-game Battle facility method of only bringing three of the six into battle.

There's even the 20 minute timer that you cannot remove at all.

Well, here's also hoping Showdown doesn't get the Shutdown, because if it does...

(and it's a real possibility, given that Champions is basically Showdown's niche; Showdown only existed for so long because despite the random WIFI battles introduced in Gen 5, the move to 3D models in Gen 6, and the rise of VGC from Gen 5 onwards, Showdown was never in direct competition because it was merely a battle simulator and not a game about the journey of adventuring with Pokémon that the main games sell themselves on. That and they hadn't released a battle simulator game since PBR back in Gen 4...)

... the fandom is going to spill so much bad blood when their only option to play the competitive formats that aren't VGC or regulated by the games is gone.

The Anti-Nintendo tech bros are already going off hard on the game for its lack of options, graphics, etc. with things like 'ACCEPT THE SLOP!'

Thr controls in the menus are so bad. I can't even figure out how to view the new recruit line-up so I've been stuck waiting on the old one for half a week now because I can't figure out where the refresh button is. Already tried touch screen, mouse mode, all sorts of buttons, looking in different menus, I just can't find it. How is it advertised as refreshing every 22 hours when I'm on the exact same lineup for 3 days now? It rolling the exact same lineup of 10 Pokémon with the same moves in the exact same order several times in a row is statistically impossible, something is going on here.

You have to recruit in order to get a new lineup. If you don't want to spend the VP you can trial recruit and then return.
