I'm going to buy the Japanese version Pokemon Box Ruby & Sapphire (w/ GBA Link Cable) and wondering does this work with Japanese games of emerald, firered, and leafgreen?

It should Sheik! But you might have to have a japanese gamecube/wii? i think the games have regions.

My question:
Will one be able to transfer pokemon from Diamond and Peal onto Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Fire Red and/or Emerald then store these new pokemon and pokemon with new moves etc on pokemon box?

I have question. I got Pokemon box and I know you take other people's pokemon but have to have pokedex up to 100. I just got to 100 in Emerald and I can't take back my old pokemon?! WHY NOT!?!?!?!?!?!

It obviously doesn't recognise the Enigma Berry as a valid berry.
It's a "Holding Place for E-Reader Berries" and normally unobtainable isn't it? Sorry, I don't know too much about the berry itself.

Only the PAL version of Pokemon Channel allows you to transfer Jirachi to the GBA games. Since you have "e-reader" in the options, it doesn't sound like you have that version. (I don't remember there being an e-reader option in my menu).

For Emerald you need to have the national dex, so check that.

Hi all, this is my first post here at Serebii.net's forums.

I have a couple of questions.

1. In pokemon box, when it comes to getting the Surfing Pichu, what are the requirements on the 1499 pokemon? I've heard differing versions, and as a result, I'm not sure what I need to do. Some say they must all have the same trainer ID (in which case they don't make it clear whether that means the ID of the trainer on the GBA game copying, or the pokemon's OT ID), others say they must come from the same cartridge (in this case, it's not clear whether it has to be the same game, or if you can restart the game and continue filling it up). Can anyone state it clearly, whether or not I can transfer pokemon of differing OT IDs from the same cartridge (in this case, Emerald), and continue even after restarting the game?

2. I have been getting mixed signals regarding PAL Pokemon Channel's Jirachi transfer to Emerald. Some sources say it can, others say it can't. Since I don't have Ruby or Sapphire, and I want Jirachi (and, being Australian, can't use the Colosseum bonus disc, even if I could get one), I was wondering... Can I get it from Channel now (transferring to Emerald directly), or am I better off just waiting for Diamond/Pearl and hoping to get one in a GTS trade?

Thanks a lot, to anyone who can answer my questions.

EDIT: I have an additional question regarding Pokemon Box - If I were to breed a heap of eggs, and store them in there, would the eggs count towards the 1499, or not? In other words, do I have to hatch all of the eggs before they count, or can I just put the eggs in directly?

Pokémon Channel FAQ By PkmnTrainerJ (Version 2)

============
GAME BASICS
============

Q: What is this game?
A: A game where you watch TV with Pikachu.

Q: Do you need to play this game over 5 days?
A: No. Change your GameCube game calendar and then the time on Channel will move forward.

Q: How does the time work in Channel?
A:5:00 to 9:00 A.M. = Morning
9:00 to 4:00 P.M. = Day/Noon
4:00 to 7:00 P.M. = Evening
7:00 to 5:00 A.M. = Night

=========
CHANNELS
=========

Q: How do I get new channels?
A: Watch them all, make a report to Oak, then the next day you will have new channels.

Q: I have some missing channels even though I have Jirachi. What are they?
A: They are the Japanese & Spanish Pichu Bros. discs. Find them in crates.

=======
ITEMS
=======

Q: How do I get new items?
A: Shop 'N' Squirtle. Will add a list here soon.

========================
JIRACHI (PAL VERSION ONLY!)
========================

Q: Oh, okay. Do I get anything special from this?
A: Jirachi (PAL).

Q: How do I get Jirachi (PAL)?
A: Get the Starlight Projector on the sixth day and go to Camp Starlight. After that go to Options on the main menu, choose Jirachi and follow Oak's instructions.

Q: What do I need to download Jirachi (PAL)?
A: You will need a GCN-GBA link cable, a GBA, and either Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. This download is not compatible with FireRed/LeafGreen due to how Hall Of Fame data is saved.

Q: What is Jirachi's info?
A: Trainer - CHANNEL
ID No - (Depends on game)
Met in a fateful encounter at level 5.

Q: Depends on game. What do you mean?
A: Each game has a preset trainer ID for Jirachi, so if you get one from one Channel and another one from a different version of Channel, they will have different ID Nos.

Q: Can you get more than one Jirachi per cart?
A: Yes, but you will need to restart on that cart and beat the Elite Four once again.

Q: What berries can Jirachi hold?
A: So far, I have seen Galon, Salac & Liechi berries attached to ones that have come from my Channel.

Q: Can Jirachi be shiny?
A: Yes. My friend got a shiny Jirachi from my Channel. Grrr.

Q: Do I have to complete Channel every time I want a Jirachi? (cxoa)
A: Nope, just save it as complete and then as long as your cart has beaten the Elite Four and the Trainer ID hasn't had Jirachi before, then download away.

Q: Is the number of Jirachi's limited? (cxoa)
A: See above answer.

Q: Can I nickname Jirachi?
A: No, as it counts as a traded Pokémon.

Q: Can I come into the topic, disregard the first post, and ask about getting Jirachi on a non-PAL version?
A: No. I will have to cause you pain.

=========
WEATHER
=========

Q: How can I change the weather?
A: Slowpoke will change it for you on the Weather Channel.

=======
DONUTS
=======

Q: Do those donuts at Colbat Coast do anything?
A: Nope, just there so you don't get bored.

==========

==========

Q: How do I get new Nice Cards?

Pokémon Box

============
GAME BASICS
============

Q: What do I need in order to play this game?
A: A GBA, A GCN-GBA link cable, and either Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen.

Q: What can I do in this game?
A: This 'game' is a storage system for your Pokémon. It can store 1,500 Pokémon.

=============
SPECIAL EGGS
=============

Q: Do I get anything special from this?
A: You get Pokémon with otherwise unobtainable moves.

Q: Which are?
A: Swablu, Zigzagoon, Skitty & Pichu.

Q: What moves do they have?
A1: Swablu learns False Swipe
A2: Zigzagoon learns ExtremeSpeed
A3: Skitty learns Pay Day
A4: Pichu learns Surf

Q: So how do I get them?

A: You get them all as eggs.
A1: Swablu is given to you straight away when you insert a new Game Pak.
A2: When you have deposited 100 Pokémon from one Game Pak onto the game, you will be given Zigzagoon.
A3: When you have deposited 500 Pokémon from one Game Pak onto the game, you will be given Skitty.
A4: When you have deposited 1,499 Pokémon from one Game Pak onto the game, you will be given Pichu.

Q: Can they be born shiny?
A: Yes.

Q: Will they be able to relearn these moves if they forget them?
A: No.

============
WHERE TO BUY
============

Q: Where can I get this 'game'?
A: It was avaliable with the Colosseum Mega Pak when Colosseum was first released, but I was lucky enought to find a pre-owned copy. Try eBay or shops that sell pre-owned games.

Q: Is it/was it avaliable in America?
A: It was originally available from the Pokemon Center in NYC, but only for a limited time. -TRJessie579

=================
GETTING 1,499 POKéMON
===================

Q: How do I obtain so many Pokémon?!
A: Obtaining 100 should be an easy task, but I'll give some help on gaining more.

1. Magikarp Breeding
Get a Magikarp/Gyarados from another game and breed it with a b]/Gyarados of yours. If you have Emerald, get a Pokémon with Magma Armor/Flame Body. Then the eventual eggs, which occur at the fastest rate possible, will hatch in around 600 steps. You can gain a large amount of Pokémon this way to shove onto Box.

2. Safari Zone Crazyness
If you're rich, hit up the Safari Zone and throw Safari balls at everything until your boxes are full, transfer and do it all again.

Just an update on this one - I got the extremespeed zigzagoon egg with about 90 pokemon in Box, but a heap of eggs as well, so I'm assuming that eggs count towards the 1499.

But please, does anyone have answers to the other two questions?

hi bbe do u know any of the new pokemon?

coolcat4yade, I think you might have the wrong thread. This thread is for discussion of Box and Channel. The Lati's can be caught in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, and the new pokemon are in Diamond/Pearl.

Hi Aielyn.

Sorry you don't seem to be getting much in the way of replies to this. I can answer one of your questions tho.

With regards to pokemon counting towards the egg rewards, it counts pokemon placed into box from the same game, not the OT of the pokemon. And I mean game rather than cartridge - so if you use the same cartridge but reset your game, you start at square one again.

The easiest thing to do is combine it with some other monotinous task - like searching for Feebas.

Personally I think it's easier to do with S/R because you can half fill your team with Zigzagoons and expect a steady influx of nuggets to pay for all the pokeballs! Not so easy in Emerald with the changes to the pick-up items.

As far as absolute confirmation about Emerald. I don't know for sure. Unfortunately I've re-started my Emerald and so I don't have the National Dex yet. If nobody has replied to you by the time I get round to finishing, I'll test it for you. :)

Incidentally... if worse comes to the worse, don't worry too much about that surfing Pichu.
if this is accurate, you will be able to get a Pikachu from Battle Revolution with Surf AND Volt Tackle, and with a Light Ball too.

Okay, my question: I'm playing pokemon channel, I have seen every weather stage in the viridian forest and never seen a beedrill, and i have sent pikachu out in all weather at all times of day, left fishing for hours to catch a cloyster, i have got nice cards off nearly every other pokemon, aside from a couple of camp starlight nights and a couple of the ruin of truth ones and latias. Is there something else i need to do to trigger them out?

Answers:
With the person after jirachi, it appears on sunday night at camp starlight, and it comes up in the special menu. Yes there is an e-card menu under the special menu, i think you can play your e-cards on the t.v or something, cause you get a couple when you buy pokemon channel too, this may be only an australia thing again.

Thanks for the reply. You covered the part that was more important - you've confirmed for me that I need to get Surfing Pichu before I transfer my pokemon off Emerald and restart (for getting the other starters, as well as the other Lati). Fortunately, I just got Colosseum, and I've already restarted Leaf Green, so I've got plenty to do in the meantime (and that's just pokemon - I've got other games coming out soon for the Wii/DS before Pokemon Pearl).

The issue of Channel and Emerald is less important, as I won't get the game unless it is confirmed. If necessary, I'll start trading my Legendary Birds (of which I will have four, between Colosseum and three plays through of Leaf Green), and my extra Legendary Dogs (XD as well as Leaf Green), and the extra Groudons, Kyogres, and Regis (from Emerald re-plays) to get Jirachi and the other event pokemon.

Oh, and Shiny Rokon - according to the Pokemon Location Guide on Gamefaqs' Pokemon Channel page, you need to be in Viridian Forest in the evening when it's rainy to get Beedrill. I hope that helps.

I'm going to buy the Japanese version Pokemon Box Ruby & Sapphire (w/ GBA Link Cable) and wondering does this work with Japanese games of emerald, firered, and leafgreen?

Yeah, these do, and you don't actually need a Japanese Gamecube/Wii. Just get a Action Replay or Freeloader to run imports, since the Pokemon Box you're getting is Japanese.

Rock & Roller
Don't suppose anyone can help me out with the Emerald/Channel link thing? I have channel - only completed day 1 at the moment - playing it ona wii. I hope to be able to trade the Jirachi to my Emerald game as I no longer have Sapphire :eek:

Anyone shed some light on this as to whether it will work or not.. if not I will have to post up here with what I find... my Emerald is the UK version (PEGI 3+) but was bought earlier this year - so sometime after release.

Heliotrope

it shone! ^_^
I tried to send a Jirachi to Emerald, but it didn't work (Ruby/Sapphire work fine, though).

A message came up saying "You have to have hall of fame data to transfer Jirachi" (or something to that effect).
