Pokémon Clue!
As you may have guessed, this is based on the board game Clue (or as some would call it, Cluedo). Except it's Pokémon style!!! Also, since we want many people to play, there will be a lot more cards to hand out. The first round will be set in Kanto. Instead of a murder mystery, we will try to find out who caught the Mewtwo. Instead of rooms, there will be different cities. Instead of weapons, there will be different types of Pokeballs. And instead of the usual six suspects, there will be many different characters.
Here's how it works, for those of you who don't know the game: The goal is to figure out three things: The person, the Pokeball, and the location. Everyone will be handed out the same amount of cards. The cards can be any combination of cards from any category. If you have a card or are shown a card, you know that that person, ball, or location is incorrect, and you can cross it off your list. Once you know all three things, you can make your final accusation. If you're correct, then you win. If not, then you can't make any more guesses for the rest of the round.
Here are all the suspects, balls, and places:
I will use a random number generator to determine which card from each category will be a crime card.
Now we get to the gameplay. Each person starts off in Pallet Town. Part 1 of the turn is the move. Everyone must post what they are going to do. You can either choose to stay where you are, or you may go to to any location right next to where you are. Meaning: You can only go to a location where you would not need to pass through any other of these locations to get there. And routes do not count as locations.
So for example, if you're in Pallet Town, you can only go to Viridian City or Cinnabar Island.
If you're in Diglett's Cave, you can go to either Viridian Forest, Pewter City, Vermilion City, Lavender Town, or Fuchsia City.
If you're in Fuchsia City, you can go to either Celadon City, Safari Zone, Vermilion City, Diglett's Cave, Lavender Town, or Seafoam Islands.
Also, just like in regular clue, there are secret passages. In this game, there will be a secret passage connecting the Pokémon League and Lavender Town, and another secret passage connecting Bill's House and Cinnabar Island. Here is a very large map of Kanto I found online for reference.
So after everyone has moved, I will announce the second part, which is the guessing. When you're in a location, you must make a suggestion in the thread to one player. You must guess one person, one ball, and only your current location. There is no rule against suggesting something you already know is false, but most of the time, it's not a good idea.
When that's over, I'll announce phase 3: the responses. Let's say someone suggests to you "Bruno with the Net Ball at Mt. Moon. If you have the card to prove that one of the three is false, you tell that person via PM. If you have more than one card that matches the suggestion, you choose one to tell that person via PM. If you don't have any matching cards, you PM them saying so. All PMs will be sent to me as well as the person to whom you are responding. Once that's done, the new round starts.
So there are 72 cards, not counting the three "crime cards" that will be set aside. So that means either 18 players with 4 cards each, or 12 players with 6 cards each, depending on how many people want to sign up. So let's start with 18 and if not many people want to sign up, we'll move it down to 12.
If you have any questions, post them in the thread, cause other people might have the same question.
