Name: Shoyu Reinelds
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Kingdom: Fontaine
Specialty: Moves with punishing secondary effects (i.e. Scald, Brine, Razor Shell)
Equipment and Skills: Warrior Ability: Typhoon – Increases Attack and Range of all allied Pokemon.
~Wields a spear, which is surprisingly flexible when a great deal of weight is applied, and is unlikely to break as a result of any amount of force. As a result, Shoyu can use it as a pole for vaulting and the like. However, it is rigid enough when it needs to be used as a weapon.
~Shoyu is talented as a gymnast and is quite athletic, despite an average level of strength.
~Fun fact: Despite all appearances, Shoyu is absolutely terrible at fishing.
~Shoyu makes awesome smoke bombs.
(Weapons and Abilities of your character, this is important because a skilled warrior can fight alongside his/her pokemon)(you also could include the warrior ability)
Personality: Shoyu is one to, quite literally, “go with the flow,” taking many things in stride. It’s extremely difficult to tell when Shoyu is angry, which in and of itself is a rare occurrence. When he is angry, however (which would instigated by an incessantly wrong and terrible type of behavior), he will become much quieter than usual and focus on the task at hand with an increased intensity. As it is, Shoyu tends not to speak unless spoken to, but is by no means silent. He does tend to speak in a fairly melodramatic way, and enjoys showing off sometimes, but never raises his voice, even when anger. Above all else, Shoyu remains “cool,” and maintains a benign, uncaring manner at all times. This gives a sense of apathy to the untrained eye, but Shoyu’s fluid constancy gives his friends a comforting sense of confidence coming from him, and his enemies are easily intimidated by his deceptively easy-going nature. Shoyu is fiercely loyal to his friends and is usually soft spoken about their faults, warming up to people quite quickly. He is, in fact, quite suave and smooth in his way of talking, and speaks in an almost rolling manner. This leads him to be popular with most of the ladies, and although he doesn’t particularly mind the attention, he does tend to get slightly annoyed at mindless fangirls, though he still accepts their accolades. His fighting style involves consistently thwarting his opponent’s strategies or dodging or parrying their attacks in order to wear them out, despite not maintaining a good defense or particularly good attack. His intelligence is somewhat above average, and although his strategies tend to be relatively weak, Shoyu is particularly skilled at seeing through lies and opposing plans quickly, making him an excellent judge of character.
(example quotes:
“I guess we’ll just have to crush you, huh?”
“Look, I may not want to win for myself, but for the sake of my kingdom, why not?”
“So you’ve beaten me, huh? Nicely done, mate!”)
Appearance: Shoyu has sea-green eyes and an easy-going expression that seems to be permanently etched on his face. His hair is a light ocean-blue, and is tastefully messy, with a medium length that barely touches his shoulders in the back. He stands at five feet and ten inches, and does not have particularly broad shoulders. His physique has defined muscles, but not particularly large. As opposed to having a “berserker” body type, Shoyu has athletic limbs that don’t seem strong, but prove to be quite agile. Shoyu does not wear a shirt on most any occasion, but instead has a shoulder guard and a black cape to provide warmth. This same cape is frequently used for Shoyu’s many displays of dramaticism, constantly being thrown back. Shoyu wears tattered and baggy navy blue pants that barely touch his ankles. He tends not to wear shoes, but when he does, they are thin sandals that do not impede his movement.

History: Shoyu was born at the crux of change in Fontaine, when fishing was still a large industry, but was also making way for more business-oriented trades. His family was not particularly wealthy, but was a pioneer in the trading industry, investing heavily in the business. It proved to pay off, as the warlord of the time appointed Shoyu’s father to be the official advisor of such matters. As such, Shoyu grew up with busy parents who still cared for him. He had two older siblings, the oldest being a brother and the younger being a sister. These were the people who practically raised him, with his brother, Shogo, teaching him how to take things in stride when Shoyu was angry, and his sister, Sara, teaching him how to work harder when things were difficult. The Reinelds family never achieved aristocracy, but remained important in the business sector of Fontaine, and Shogo and Sara went on to found their own bank after growing old enough. However, the mellow Shoyu decided to pursue his own destiny elsewhere and studied battle strategy in Illusio at the age of 14, showing an aptitude for recognizing holes in others’ strategies despite an average mind for creating strategies of his own. He continued to travel around Ransei, discovering an affinity for the athletic training provided in Avia, Viperia, and Yaksha. As he continued to travel under the tutelage of famous Warlords, both current and retired, Shoyu found that he could be quite helpful in settling disputes and helping solve peoples’ problems, so that’s what he did. Eventually, Shoyu returned home to Fontaine with many achievements under his belt and he had become a bit of a household name in the growing Fontaine. His amiable personality exponentially increased his popularity, and he became somewhat legendary, although he reacted somewhat nonchalantly to this fact. His family welcomed him with open arms. Therefore, when the games were announced, the people of Fontaine could speak no other name than Shoyu Reinelds.
Species: Quagsire
Nickname: Al
Gender: Male
History: Al and Shoyu first met in Terrera when Shoyu was bored and took a break from the intensive training of the warlord Yukimura by going to the swamp. There, he noticed a flock of Gligar attacking a certain Quagsire who was apparently trespassing on their territory. The Quagsire simply took it in stride and even dodged quite a few attacks as he finished his meal. Sensing a kindred spirit, Shoyu linked with him and took him back to Terrera. There, Shoyu dubbed the Quagsire Al, and they became the best of friends. Soon, their achievements were known throughout Ransei, and Al happily continued to eat well due to their revenue.
Special Appearance: N/A
Personality: Al is a very hard to read Pokemon, with a complacent look plastered on his face and the ability to take many hits without showing signs of pain. Al loves eating immensely, but can move very fast when the situation demands it. He looks up to Shoyu quite a bit, however, and will not do a thing without Shoyu’s approval.
