Urk, goin' back a few pages... but Mawile does, fortuitously, have two sprites in this generation! So that's a total of three, counting RSE. I saw its HGSS sprite and assumed it was new, but then discovered that it was actually introduced in Pt. It's only a subtle difference, but I really prefer it. Doesn't seem to be on Bulbapedia yet, though, or in Serebii's dex. It's a conspiracy, I say...

I've looked at the new sprites for my other favourites, and... I'm really not sure what to make of Miltank. I had such high hopes after seeing that gorgeous Sugimori artwork... It's a cute sprite and all, but I don't think the sitting-down pose suits her. It doesn't seem right for such a quick Pokémon. I suppose I've just grown attached to the idea of the nimble, dancing Miltank of PBR...

Vaporeon is pretty, but it can't compete with the DP sprite. Machamp is pretty nice, though. I think this might be the first time I've actually liked Machamp's sprite.

Yeah, the second one (Platinum's) is better, even if it's a subtle change.

I like the change in Another Forme Giratina's sprite as well, for his moving frame, I think it was? His wings are slowly turning into strange talon-like hands... It's quite something.

...I still think Mewtwo's new look is an abomination to his nature, however.

Cos they were busy complaining about how Quagsire had funny colors and the Eeevelutions were weird.

I guess then when the RSEmakes come out next year we might notice the good HGSS sprites! (just kidding by the way there is no such thing and I'm using it only as an example)
But damn the platinum sprites and the hgss sprites show how good spriting has gotten in my opinion. Except for Quagsire mc blue. It can go burn in hell. But hgss quagsire can haz hugs.

Can only speak for myself, but I didn't pay Platinum much heed when it came out, given that it was just an update of a game I already had. It's only now that HGSS is being explored that I'm discovering new sprites (and also the animated back sprite thing, which is a nice enhancement I didn't realise Pt had...).

Although I do like that they improved it's second frame.
In Pt it's second frame was just the same as DP's second frame.

I think that Charizard looks great. Better then D/P/Pt.
Quilava is also good, look a little boring, but it's better then D/P/Pt.
And you know which sprite looks better, Magikarp!

The fish got skills and more power now. Looks more alive now!

Who elese is really dispointed with the look af the new sprites? I don't think there is a single one there that I like more than the Diamond and Pearl sprites.. How sad.

I take this back - The new sprites are really starting to grow on me! Well done!

I really like Dragonite's new sprite. It has a bit of a boring stance, but it looks better than DPPt's, in my opinion.

I love the HGSS sprites!They're so simple!

Charizard's is awesome,and Ampharos's,and Lugia's,and Totodile's,and Bulbasaur's,ect.!

The only one I really,really hate is Jolteons!It looks so weird!Platinum's is way better!If anyone would care to compare,then you would see my point.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but what happened with Seadra!? Horsea and Kingdra look great, but Seadra looks extremely disproportionate. It'd look better if it's torso and maybe it's head were a bit bigger--it's fins and tail look HUGE!

I don't know, Seadra looks just fine to me.
But Houndoom looks horrible
