"Pokémon: Intensity" - Season 10

Jesse GS the II

"Pokémon: Intensity" - Season 10

Last one, I swear.

Seriously, though, this will be the final season of "Pokémon: Intensity". However, I've tried to make it fun, featuring many of my trademark callbacks to the original series. We'll begin with these first six, including the conclusion of last season's cliffhanger and the momentous 200th episode, containing a crossover that I just couldn't resist. Have fun.

“The Mt. Pyre Handgun Massacre”
Episode 9ACP23
Original Airdate: 9/21/12
Guest Voices: Johnny Depp as Will; Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Phoebe

After being arrested for Karen’s murder, Ash is held at the Lilycove Police Station to wait for his trial to commence. Fiercely interrogated by the police, Ash maintains his innocense, but the evidence all points to his guilt. He uses his one phone call to contact Misty, who assures Ash that she will try to clear him of all his charges. Pikachu and Togetic agree to offer their assistance, and they begin searching for clues. They already know that Ash is innocent, and they try to think of who would have a reason to not only kill Karen but frame Ash for doing so. They recall that Sidney had previously lost his battles with both Karen and Ash and vowed revenge for it, and file him as their top suspect. Locating him at a memorial service being held in Karen’s memory, Misty pulls him aside and questions him, but Sidney insists that he didn’t kill anyone. In fact, he had no motivation for it - his angry facade is merely a way of masking his inner insecurities and fears that he’s not as good as the other members of the Hoenn Elite Four. Having unearthed Sidney’s true sensitive self, Misty deduces that he couldn’t have been the killer after all. Meanwhile, Brock and Phoebe are just as rattled about the murder as everyone else. In Phoebe’s lodge room that night, Brock assures her that he can protect her from any other attacks from whoever the murderer might be. As Phoebe leaves the room to get more ice, she is attacked from behind by an unfamiliar hooded figure who tries to strangle her. Brock manages to come to her rescue, but the figure escapes down a hallway and mysteriously disappears. As Misty tries to figure out who else had a motive, Pikachu and Togetic try to think about who could have gotten into Karen’s room without tripping the burglar alarm. They remember how Sabrina’s Psychic Pokémon have the ability to scramble electronics, and they suspect that she may be the culprit. However, Sabrina has an airtight alibi for where she was at the time of Karen’s murder, and Misty points out that she has no motive. In addition to this, several other trainers at the retreat own Pokémon with Psychic abilities. As Karen’s burglar alarm was not tampered with, Misty deduces that it had to have been a Psychic attack that disabled it. This narrows it down to either Koga, Morty, Agatha, Will, Tate, Liza, or Phoebe, as they all own Pokémon with Psychic attacks. But Brock points out that Phoebe herself was attacked, eliminating her as a suspect. When the other Psychic trainers at the retreat begin to notice the presence of a strange hooded figure around the island who disappears almost instantly, they begin to get suspicious. Finally, Sidney is attacked on the last night of the retreat, but manages to defend himself and get a good look at his attacker’s eyes. He tells Misty that they were narrow, and seemingly hidden behind the attacker’s hair. Misty takes note of Will’s eye-obscuring hairstyle and places him atop her suspect list. No sooner does this happen than Will enters Misty’s room, congratulating her on how much effort she’s putting into her search and offering to shake her hand. Misty wonders why Will doesn’t bow like everyone else in Japan does, and notices a whitened set of fingerprints on Will’s glove - Ash’s fingerprints from when he shook Will’s hand earlier. It all suddenly clicks in Misty’s mind: Will got Ash’s prints through his handshake, then lifted them, made a duplicate glove of Ash’s hand, and placed the prints on the handgun before planting it in Ash’s room. Will realizes he’s been found out and tries to escape, but Pikachu and Togetic immobilize him, allowing Misty to tie him up and call the police. Upon Will’s arrest, he explains his motive - he has always seen himself as the most underappreciated Elite Four member, and wanted to achieve higher billing by eliminating the other trainers who specialize in his elements - Psychic, Ghost, and Dark. He arbitrarily selected Ash as his patsy, then had his Xatu deactivate Karen’s burglar alarm, allowing him to enter her room and kill her, then had Xatu teleport him into Ash’s now-empty room to plant the gun and then teleport back upstairs to the crowd of trainers. Though Will has no regrets, he is still sentenced to life in Hoenn Maximum Security Prison. Ash is finally released and thanks Misty greatly for helping to free him. Meanwhile, Phoebe decides to split up with Brock - though she is grateful for how he saved her life, she really wants someone a little more fiery...and has her eye set on Sidney.

200th EPISODE
“Skeeving Las Vegas”
Episode 9ACP24
Original Airdate: 9/28/12
Guest Voices: William Petersen as Gil Grissom; Marg Helgenberger as Catherine Willows; Gary Dourdan as Warrick Brown; George Eads as Nick Stokes; Jorja Fox as Sarah Sidle

Flying back towards Japan, Giovanni realizes that the Rocket helicopter is almost out of fuel, and must land in order to refill it. He ends up setting the chopper down in Nevada, on the Las Vegas strip. Jessie and James take advantage of their free time by donning disguises and hitting the casinos. While they entertain themselves, Meowth takes on the guise of a short man in an overcoat and passes his time at the slot machines. Having never played the slots before, he quickly becomes hooked on the premise. Meanwhile, Jessie and James hit the casino floor themselves, and when Jessie flings an olive out of her martini, it lands on a roulette wheel and knocks the ball from its original spot, causing one man to lose all his winnings. Infuriated, the man accosts Jessie and James and demands that they pay him back for everything he just lost. Irritated, Jessie and James casually invite the man to an empty hotel room to reconcile their altercation, but when he gets there, they end up killing him instead. They dump the body down the laundry chute and forget about it. However, Giovanni is distraught to learn that they have just committed a crime inside the hotel, reminding them that Las Vegas has one of the top Crime Scene Investigation teams in America. Realizing that their evidence will give them away almost certainly, Jessie and James set off to collect as much false evidence as they can to plant in the hotel room before the CSIs arrive. When the body is discovered, the Las Vegas CSI team shows up promptly, led by the dry-witted and enigmatic Grissom. As the investigators prowl the area, Willows notices that there are scrapings of paint on the body’s clothes that match the inside of the laundry chute. Following the inside of the chute with a tiny snaking camera, Sarah notices a splotch of dried blood on the opening that leads to the eighth floor. Unbeknownst to them, Jessie and James have just left the hotel room after deftly sprinkling the floor and furniture with hairs and skin flakes that they discretely collected from numerous patrons around the casino. As Stokes and Warrick collect the evidence, they bring them back to the lab to be sampled for DNA. Having thrown the CSIs off their trail, Jessie and James prepare to leave - but first, they must pry Meowth away from the slots. In doing so, they rip off Meowth’s trench coat, and being mistaken for a strange breed of cat, he and his partners are bounced from the casino by security. They meet up with Giovanni at the airport to set off again towards Japan. Meanwhile, the CSIs have found evidence of at least thirty people being at the crime scene, but everyone they call in for questioning has an alibi. They do, however, find one pink hair and one blue hair among the numerous bits of evidence, but they can’t possibly figure out how either hair could be natural and not dyed. The bizarre amalgam of inconclusive evidence leads Willows, Sarah, Stokes, and Warrick to break down into verbally and even physically attacking one another, and Grissom wonders aloud how the heck he and his team ever figure anything out.

“Same Sex Japan”
Episode 10ACP01
Original Airdate: 10/19/12
Guest Voice: Rupert Everett as Julio

While visiting Professor Oak one day, Ash and Misty can’t help but notice that Tracey isn’t his usual self. Instead of his usual boisterous attitude, he seems depressed, and only puts a half-hearted effort into his work. When Misty asks if something is wrong, Tracey laments that in the six years since he’s come to terms with his homosexuality, he hasn’t had so much as one boyfriend. It won’t be long until he reaches his 40s, and he’s beginning to worry about whether or not he’ll ever find someone. Ash and Misty point out that he won’t find anyone if he doesn’t look, but Tracey’s schedule at Oak’s lab is too restrictive on his free time. Oak agrees to give Tracey shorter shifts and full weekends off if it’ll help. With his new hours, Tracey plans to devote his off time to finding that special someone once and for all. Unfortunately, as Tracey has never been able to find time to search for a boyfriend before, he has no experience in the area of talking to men, and can’t seem to impress any man he meets. Desperate for pointers, he turns to Misty for advice, and she helps Tracey to ease into the dating scene without coming across as too inexperienced. Her advice works wonders, as Tracey soon captures the interest of Julio, a gay man from Viridian City who is fascinated by Tracey’s knowledge of Pokémon watching. The two agree to meet again, and Tracey is ecstatic over the idea that he may finally have found the man of his dreams. The date goes off without a hitch, leaving Tracey more confident than ever. However, a week later, Tracey notices that Julio hasn’t contacted him for another date as he promised. Concerned, Tracey calls Julio to find out what was wrong, and Julio earnestly explains that things just didn’t click with him. Though Tracey is disappointed, Ash and Misty encourage him not to be thrown so easily and to continue playing the field. When Tracey returns to Viridian City, however, he makes a startling discovery - he spots Julio at an outdoor restaurant, holding hands with a woman. Crushed, Tracey mopes back to Pallet Town, distraught over the fact that one date with him has defected Julio to heterosexuality. Despite his friends’ attempts to cheer him up, Tracey is convinced that no man will ever love him. It isn’t until Professor Oak reminds Tracey of the devotion he’s shown to obtaining his goals in the past that Tracey’s confidence is rejuvenated, and he decides to call Julio himself and find out what the truth is. Julio straightens everything out by explaining that he’s actually bisexual, and was unaware that Tracey wanted to reunite with him. Agreeing to another date, Julio arrives at the lab that weekend to pick Tracey up. It is at this point that everything goes south, as Julio meets the wheelchair-bound Professor Oak and is startled to see that Tracey is Oak’s assistant. Julio reveals that he has always been strongly against Oak’s teachings and verbally assaults the poor professor until an enraged Tracey tells him to leave. Tracey apologizes to Oak, and decides that romance will undoubtedly have to wait even longer than he expected.

“Raiders of the Lost Heart”
Episode 10ACP02
Original Airdate: 11/2/12

At the Pewter City Gym, Brock notices a steep decline in the performance of his Rock Pokémon. Steelix, Golem, and Sudowoodo get trounced in virtually every battle they participate in. Deciding that a training session is in order, he invites Ash and Misty to the mountain ranges outside the Indigo Plateau in order to help him build his team’s experience. Ash and Misty agree, though Pikachu and Togetic object to the trip and are brought along against their will. Among the rocks, Brock is quickly distracted from his training efforts when his sparring battle with Ash extends into a nearby excavation site. Among the scientists there, Brock recognizes a familiar face - Eve, the archaeologist whom he had met in the mountains during the training period leading up to Ash’s participation in the 1999 Indigo Plateau Finals. Eve is excited to see Brock and his friends again and invites them to see her most recent discoveries. During these events, Pikachu and Togetic become bored and wander off on their own. Togetic insists on leading the impromptu expedition, but ends up getting them both completely lost. Upon realizing that the two Pokémon are missing, Ash sends Swellow and Charizard to scan the mountains from the air, while Eve and Brock agree to search on foot. During their search, Eve admits to Brock that she’s missed him in the 20 years it’s been since they last met - nobody else has shown the same interest in her work that Brock did. Though Eve and Brock begin harboring a strong attraction towards one another, their search of the mountains yields no positive results. Ash and Misty inform the local Officer Jenny that Pikachu and Togetic are lost in the mountains, and Jenny promises to do all she can to find them. Hoping that the Pokémon will turn up soon, the trainers spend the night at Eve’s excavation camp. Eve invites Brock into her tent, where they further explore their blossoming relationship with each other. Meanwhile, Pikachu tries to lead Togetic back to civilization, but the two Pokémon discover a pair of strange-looking ancient artifacts in the rocks. Though Pikachu recognizes them immediately, he barely has time to warn Togetic before she inadvertently activates the primitive Poké Balls, unleashing the ancient Alakazam and Gengar that inhabit them. Disturbed from their slumber again, the ancient Pokémon demand to know why they have been summoned. Pikachu asks if they can possibly hitch a ride back to the excavation site, and the Gengar and Alakazam grudgingly agree. The distant stomping of the Pokémon catches the attention of those at the site, including Eve and Brock, who are horrified when they find the source of the commotion heading for them. Promising to protect Eve at all costs, Brock sends forth his Steelix, Golem, and Sudowoodo to do battle with the behemoth Pokémon, not realizing that Pikachu and Togetic are atop their backs. Togetic attempts to fly above the commotion and make her presence known, but a barrage of rocks thrown by Steelix ends up knocking Pikachu off Gengar’s back and into a midair collision with Togetic, triggering Pikachu’s still-unnamed Electric/Psychic attack. The attack manages to banish the ancient Pokémon again, though it also leaves Togetic severely smoldered and irritated. Eve is grateful to Brock for attempting to save her, but she is more infatuated with finding out more about the artifacts that contain these creatures, sheepishly explaining that archaeology is still her first love. Disappointed, Brock returns home with his friends and their Pokémon, still glad that he was able to get his training done.

“The Contest Years of Our Lives”
Episode 10ACP03
Original Airdate: 11/9/12

Still in therapy with Dr. Umemiya, May begins to wonder what she wants to do with her life. As the years have gone by, she has never gotten a steady job. Umemiya suggests that she should find something that she’s good at, but May can’t think of what her area of expertise might be. It isn’t until she goes home and looks at her ribbon case that she realizes her one true passion in life has always been participating in Pokémon Contests. With the Kanto contest circuit having disbanded several years ago due to lack of interest, May decides to return to the Hoenn region. She and Max move out of their Saffron City apartment and take the next ferry back to Littleroot Town. Norman and Caroline are surprised to see their kids show up at their Petalburg City home, where May announces that she’s coming out of retirement to do the entire Hoenn contest circuit all over again. Setting off to register at the newly constructed Coordinator’s Center outside Rustboro City, May notices several familiar faces on the Wall of Fame - many of the coordinators she had previously met on her first pass through the circuit are still in the game. May registers again and eagerly anticipates participating in her first contest since 2006, but her spirits plummet when she sees an all-too familiar face enter the lobby - Harley has just re-registered as well. Upon learning that his old rival is now going to be competing with him again, Harley reassures May that he will not make her coordinating experience pleasant this time around. Back at Petalburg City, Norman informs Max that he’s been thinking about retiring as the Petalburg Gym Leader, and wants to pass the gym on to him. Max is enthralled, but the fact remains that, in spite of how much he looked forward to it as a young boy, he never actually became a trainer. With neither the time nor the skill to participate in the Hoenn Gym Challenge, Max decides to take the intellectual route and study the intricate workings of Pokémon training in order to be worthy of taking his father’s place. Meanwhile, May is warming up for her first contest in Slateport City, in which she decides to utilize her most experienced contest participants, Beautifly and Delcatty. When the contest commences, May proves to the audience that she has not lost a step in the 13 years she’s been away from coordinating. Moving up the ranks, May is shocked to find that her final appeal will be against Harley. Enduring Harley’s relentless trash talking, May manages to outperform her rival nearly to the point of winning. Infuriated, Harley loses his composure and prepares to take a lunge at May, but in doing so, steps outside his designated area of the arena and is disqualified for interfering with the appeals procedure. May accepts her first 2019 Hoenn Contest Ribbon with humility and confidence. Back in Petalburg, Max shows his father what he’s learned about training but fails to defeat him in a practice battle due to his lack of physical experience. Norman assures Max that he won’t be retiring for quite some time.

“3rd Schlock from the 'Son”
Episode 10ACP04
Original Airdate: 11/16/12
Guest Voice: Antonio Banderas as Meowth-In-Boots

Ash begins to experience a lull at the Viridian City Gym. Often, entire days go by without anyone challenging him. Just when Ash considers going home early one day, he receives a visit from his old Hoenn League rival Morrison, now in the last leg of the Kanto Gym Challenge. Ash is grateful to see Morrison again after 13 years and willingly accepts his challenge, pitting Pikachu against Morrison’s Metagross. In the middle of the battle, Ash is greeted with another familiar challenger - Tyson, who is also hoping for a chance to win an Earth Badge. Tyson willingly waits his turn while Pikachu and Metagross duke it out. Ultimately, Ash prevails, and informs Morrison that he can come back another day and challenge him again. Morrison exits, but he secretly spies on Tyson’s battle through the gym window. Tyson pits his boot-wearing Meowth against Ash’s best Pokémon, succeeding in knocking out everything Ash sends forward. Ash congratulates Tyson on a battle well fought and rewards him with his Earth Badge. Morrison is bewildered as to how Tyson’s Meowth could possibly be stronger than his own Metagross. The next day, Morrison returns to the gym, but rather than requesting a rematch, he wants Ash to help him train. Ash is surprised to see his once-confident rival now in need of his help, but explains that he can’t - the League Rules require Gym Leaders to be impartial to their challengers. However, Ash does explain that Misty is a retired gym leader and can probably help him out. That night, Ash invites Morrison to his home, where Misty agrees to teach him the best ways to approach his final battle. Togetic, however, doesn’t like any of Morrison’s Pokémon and decides to stay out of the proceedings. However, she does take notice of Morrison’s supply of giant onigiri, and having grown tired of Ash and Misty’s cooking, she desperately wants one for herself. Morrison can’t give her his secret recipe for them, so she decides to make them herself from scratch. Finally, Morrison is confident that he can win against Ash, but the rematch goes just as poorly as it did before. Morrison, still desperate for his Earth Badge, decides to consult Tyson instead. Tyson is busy training for the upcoming Indigo Conference and gladly takes on Morrison as an opponent, and the battle ultimately ends up pitting Tyson’s Metagross against Morrison’s Metagross. Regardless, Tyson is the victor. Now furious over the fact that he can’t seem to win against anyone, the competitive Morrison accuses Tyson of having cheated in order to get his Earth Badge. The two trainers fight until Tyson’s Meowth tells them how to settle things once and for all. Each trainer has a rematch with Ash - Tyson goes first and wins again, but he is followed by Morrison’s long-awaited victory. With his new Earth Badge, Morrison is confident about his approaching participation in the Indigo Conference, even though Ash secretly confides in Tyson that he let Morrison win just to get him to shut up. Back at home, Togetic finally completes her homemade giant onigiri, but nobody wants to try them. Togetic decides to keep them all for herself, and gloats about having nailed Morrison’s recipe perfectly, despite her own winces and stomach pains over how poorly she’s made them.

What can I say about your latest episodes? I can't describe how much I enjoy your stories.

I didn't expect it to be Will out of all charcters. You made quite the startling choice there.

It's great to see May's a corrdinatior again. It's her talent. She should stick with it. :)

Keep up the great work.

Oh, and just a bit curious...

What are your plans after you are done with this season? :)

Ah, so Will was behind the entire murder plot! Too bad he got just jailtime, instead of the good old Sarge treatment (aka a shotgun to the head, and a Warthog(Chupa-thingy) over his mutilated body).

I hope the final episodes shall deliver that good stuff of it all... with a hint of legacy too... ;150;

I was frozen today!
Well, since my week's been so slow, I've only managed to complete another four episodes, but here they are anyway. Not much to say about them, except that I've always wanted to do an episode like 10ACP07 - it's one of those kinds of plots that you know you have to save until the final season.

“Rockets Are From Mars, Altos Are From Venus”
Episode 10ACP05
Original Airdate: 11/23/12

With the threat of Team Rocket having finally dissipated in Japan, Giovanni is confident that he, Jessie, James, and Meowth can make their return to the country without any police interference. However, Giovanni knows better than to return to the same location they were in before their exile, and rather than set up their base in Viridian City, he decides to go for another locale. Jessie and James suggest somewhere in the Johto region, as fewer Team Rocket agents were stationed there in the glory days, and it would be a good chance to hire some new recruits without much investigation. Giovanni settles on one of the most serene and unsuspecting towns in all of Johto - Olivine City. Deciding to inhabit the now-abandoned Olivine Lighthouse, the Rockets receive an unpleasant surprise when they are captured by two women in a set of matching uniforms adorned with patterns of lips. Brought to an underground lair beneath the lighthouse, Giovanni and his agents discover that the lighthouse is already being used by the all-female Team Alto as their secret base. Alto Boss Marisa hears Giovanni’s plight and is initially disinterested, as Team Alto is dedicated to the criminal abilities of women, not men. However, Jessie appeals to Marisa, convincing her not to turn them in to the cops so quickly. Marisa gives it a second thought, and Giovanni takes the opportunity to bargain - he and his agents will merge with Team Alto to become an accomplished organized crime syndicate again. Having heard stories of how competent Team Rocket agents had been, Marisa agrees. She appoints Giovanni as her second-in-command, and teams Jessie, James, and Meowth with two of her better Alto agents, Annie and Oakley. The two Altos are not particularly enthused about sharing their missions with James, but they trust Jessie’s abilities instantly and quickly incorporate her into many of their plans, usually requiring James and Meowth to wait in the getaway vehicle. This naturally perturbs them, as both competent agents are being suppressed merely because they are male. James asks Jessie to try and persuade Annie and Oakley to treat them fairly, but the two Altos immediately see through Jessie’s persuasive efforts and kick all three of them off their team. Meanwhile, Giovanni is constantly being bossed around at Marisa’s orders, and expresses his extreme displeasure at such treatment. However, Marisa finds herself infatuated with pushing Giovanni around, and having never known the joys of true romance, she assumes that she’s in love with him. Jessie and James return to the Alto base to find a reluctant Giovanni pinned to the wall in Marisa’s misdirected embraces. Upon the exposure of her secret, Marisa orders Giovanni and his agents out of her office, officially breaking up their partnership. Jessie, James, and Giovanni are disappointed that their brief tenure in Team Alto has failed, but Meowth has planned his own form of revenge. Miles away, during a getaway in Alto Mare, Annie and Oakley’s rocket boat explodes as a result of the timed incendiary bomb that Meowth has placed in it.

“Moon Over May-Ami”
Episode 10ACP06
Original Airdate: 12/7/12

The date of May’s second contest at Fallarbor Town is quickly approaching, and May is doing all that she can to prepare adequately for it. This time, she selects Blaziken and Venusaur as her entries, and decides to train them to the best of their abilities for the appeals process. However, neither Max, Norman, nor Caroline can offer her much help, as they know virtually nothing about Pokémon coordinating. Worried, May visits the Coordinators’ Center to gather advice, where she encounters Janet and Chaz, the coordinating couple who sparked her interest in the contest circuit 16 years ago. While the two coordinators help May hone her abilities, elsewhere in the Hoenn region, Harley berates his Cacturne and Banette for their poor performance in the previous showdown at Slateport City. Knowing that May will be competing in the Fallarbor contest, Harley devotes himself to never even allowing her to make it past the quarterfinals. Upon learning that May is training with Janet and Chaz, Harley decides to disrupt May indirectly by attacking her mentors. Getting Janet and Chaz alone together after one training session, Harley strikes up a conversation with them and manages to steer it to the topic of why the two coordinators are a couple. The devious coordinator manages to get Janet and Chaz to reveal their pet peeves about one another, and before long, he has driven a deep wedge between the two that threatens their relationship. Harley is ecstatic - he believes that, if Janet and Chaz are too angry at each other to train May, she will be extremely vulnerable during the contest. When Janet and Chaz cancel their next training session with May, she discovers that the two coordinators are harboring a deep resentment towards each other. An attempt to get them to work together fails miserably, and May is left with no choice but to enter the Fallarbor Town Contest without Janet and Chaz’s help. Much to Harley’s disappointment, May makes it to the final round, which pits her against another one of her past opponents, Grace and her Medicham. In the events leading up to the appeals process between the two coordinators, Grace tells May that even if her teachers are quarreling, she still has all her previous coordination experience to draw on, and reminds her of their last encounter in 2004. Her spirit lifted, May gives her all in her bout with Grace, despite Harley heckling her from the stands. Janet and Chaz, also in the crowd, recognize Harley’s voice and realize that he split them up only to interfere with May’s performance. Confronting the coordinator, Janet and Chaz realize that they love each other too much to let themselves be driven apart by petty differences and shout their encouragement to their protégé on the field. May’s confidence is further solidified, and she manages to win the contest, earning her second contest ribbon of 2019. Harley slinks out of the contest hall infuriated, while Janet and Chaz happily commend May for a job well done.

“Liberty Hell”
Episode 10ACP07
Original Airdate: 12/14/12
Guest Voice: Vivica A. Fox as Chantelle

While shopping in Viridian City one afternoon, Misty is surprised to find an abandoned Mail containing over 2,000,000 yen on the sidewalk. Knowing what the only moral action to take would be, Misty turns the Mail over to the police, who announce it as missing for the next thirty days. Togetic can’t believe that Misty did this, saying that she should have kept the money for herself, but Misty, Ash, and Pikachu ignore her lack of morality. When the 30-day limit comes and goes, nobody claims the money and Misty is allowed to keep it. Togetic’s head is immediately filled with avaricious thoughts, but they are quickly dashed when Misty instead donates the money to Mr. Fuji’s Abused Pokémon Shelter. The donation pulls the financially-troubled charity out of the red, and an eternally grateful Mr. Fuji publicly announces his thanks to Misty for her consideration. When the media arrives at Ash’s house to talk to Misty about her generosity, Togetic butts in with sarcastic and false comments that Misty received the money through all sorts of illegal activities and that she actually hates Pokémon. Disgusted, the reporters leave with the totally wrong impression. Though Togetic snickers at her prank, Misty is beyond appalled and infuriated. She angrily declares that this is the final straw, but Togetic is not intimidated - until Misty drags Togetic up to Professor Oak’s lab and officially releases her back into the wild. Ash thinks that Misty acted too rashly, but Misty insists that she’s put up with Togetic’s antics for too long and is unable to tolerate her unbelievable disrespect for everyone and everything else. Left to fend for herself, Togetic has no qualms at first, but after several nights in the unfettered wild of the Kanto region, she begins to think that she really has overstepped her boundary. Flying across the sea aimlessly, Togetic soon finds herself back on the shores of the Hoenn region, where she hopes she can start a new life. Almost immediately, she finds herself captured by another trainer, an ambitious and experienced girl named Chantelle. Chantelle is a collector of Pokémon whose outer beauty conceals inner strength, and Togetic fits the bill nicely. As it happens, Chantelle is also a very lenient trainer who believes in the free expression of her Pokémon’s opinions. No longer feeling oppressed, Togetic is confident that Chantelle is the perfect trainer for her. Meanwhile, back in Pallet Town, Misty and Ash find that life without Togetic is tranquil and calm, and they can carry on civil conversations uninterrupted for the first time in ten years. Pikachu, however, has nobody to relate to, no counterpart for his imaginative ideas. He begs and pleads for Ash and Misty to get Togetic back, and after much pestering, the two trainers reluctantly cave. They set out to track down Togetic’s path, interviewing people who may or may not have seen her. Back in Hoenn, Togetic is unnerved when Chantelle’s journey takes her through the all-too-familiar Kingdom of Illusions. The enigmatic Princess Sara welcomes Chantelle and her team, but the sinister Hansen has still been jockeying for the throne for the past 15 years and, thanks to an amendment made to the kingdom’s charter several years ago, either a Togepi or a Togetic can be used as the key to the monarchy. Hansen and his Ninjask and Shedinja quickly accost Chantelle, with the intent of stealing Togetic once and for all. Togetic takes Hansen out with one swift kick to the crotch and takes to the skies, taking refuge in the dimension of the Togepi’s Paradise over which she once ruled. However, the Togepi who live there remember her reign of tyranny and descend from their dimension, offering Togetic to Hansen. Chantelle’s team manages to take down all of them, and she beckons Togetic back to her. At that moment, Ash and Misty arrive to try and persuade Chantelle to give Togetic up. Togetic doesn’t want to leave her new trainer, until she realizes that she misses Pikachu as much as he misses her. Abandoning Chantelle, Togetic returns to Misty’s team, then proceeds to read her the riot act for releasing her in the first place. Ash and Misty happily zone her out.

“Office Waste”
Episode 10ACP08
Original Airdate: 1/4/13
Guest Voice: Ricky Gervais as Frank Kamemoto

With May and Max now living with their parents in Petalburg City, Norman and Caroline can’t help but notice that Max isn’t doing much to earn his keep. His dreams of becoming a Pokémon trainer having fallen by the wayside years ago, Max has become something of an intellectual slacker. Finally, the day comes when Norman and Caroline tell their son to go out and get a job. Though Max is learned in the ways of Pokémon, he doesn’t have many skills that would earn him a high-paying career, and he turns to Ash and Misty for help. Ash explains to Max that he didn’t get to where he was very easily - he had to spend seven years at the Goldenrod Bike Shop before he became the Viridian City Gym Leader. Realizing that he can’t aim too high early on, Max goes out to Rustboro City and quickly secures himself a part-time job at a restaurant. The first week of Max’s employment doesn’t go very well, and he is nearly ready to quit when he is complimented on his work ethic by a well-dressed man who has just finished eating. Max recognizes the man as Mr. Stone, the president of the Devon Corporation. Stone is so impressed with how hard Max works that he offers him a job as an intern at the Devon building. Grateful, Max immediately accepts the offer. May, Norman, and Caroline are amazed at how quickly Max has moved up in the world, and Max heads into his first day at the Devon Corporation feeling confident. His initial duties consist of bringing in coffee and replacing office supplies, but while sitting in on an employee meeting, Max makes several suggestions that Mr. Stone considers to be genius. So impressed is he that he promotes Max on the spot, making him an engineer. Most everyone is supportive of Max, except for a bitter employee named Frank Kamemoto, who has worked at the Devon Corporation for 20 years and has never been promoted for any of his suggestions. Irritated with the apparent favoritism behind Max’s promotion, Frank resorts to weaseling in order to exact his revenge. He begins to fiddle with Max’s projects behind his back, but every time he does so, Mr. Stone still commends Max on his great work. Still furious, Frank tries to find some way to get the president to see that Max isn’t perfect, and finally gets his chance when Max violates the “no coffee mugs” rule in the break room. However, when Frank brings Max before Mr. Stone with this infraction, Mr. Stone just smiles and congratulates Max on his individuality, then commends Frank for caring so much about the company. Frank and Max are bewildered until Mr. Stone’s son Steven arrives - he has been out of town on a business trip and was unable to make it back on time to deliver his elderly father’s medication. Upon taking his pills and regaining the ability to make informed business decisions, Mr. Stone realizes how stupid Max’s ideas are and fires him on the spot. Max returns home without a job, but he is still pleased - he now qualifies for unemployment benefits.

These are great! Is Frank Kamemoto a parody of Frank Grimes from the simpsons, may I ask?

Nice job! I'm wondering just how many episodes you plan to do for your final season. Remember, don't aim too high, or you'll never get it done. :)

I can't decide which ones are my fav still, though I did like "Office Waste" very much.

I really can't wait for the next installment.

I'll be waiting patiently for it. ^_^

Sweet Murgatroyd, I'm lazy...but in spite of how long it's been since the last update, I humbly offer the next four episodes. It's my mission this season to tear down as many conventions from the original series as possible while still paying them homage and satirizing the hell out of them. I can only hope that I pulled it off.

“High School Consequential”
Episode 10ACP09
Original Airdate: 1/11/13
Guest Voice: Michael J. Nelson as Josh Noriyama

Still without a permanent base, Giovanni and his agents continue to scout around the regions for an ideal place to set up. Giovanni decides that the crime-laden slums of Lavender Town in the Kanto region would be satisfactory, as well as a place with an ample source of potential new recruits. The abandoned Pokémon Tower is selected as the official home of the new base, and Jessie and James set out immediately to scrounge up more revenue to renovate the crumbling tower. Unfortunately, Lavender Town is so run down that hardly any businesses are worth robbing. Prowling around the homeless district, Jessie and James stumble across a particularly desperate man who begs them for spare change. When Jessie tries to shoo the man away, she is shocked to discover his identity - Josh Noriyama, the boy whom Jessie had a crush on in high school. Overcome with a sudden feeling of sympathy, Jessie takes Josh off the street and promises to find him a better home. Naturally, James is wary about this development, not knowing what may become of Jessie being reunited with her old flame. Meanwhile, Giovanni discovers that the Pokémon Tower is still infested with Ghost Pokémon, as the playful Gastly and Gengar that reside in the attic playfully disrupt Giovanni’s attempts to work. When none of Giovanni’s Pokémon have any effect on the Ghosts, Meowth takes it into his own hands to eradicate the spirits once and for all. Elsewhere, Jessie outfits Josh with better clothes, and Josh is eternally grateful for her hospitality. He laments the fact that he dropped out of high school and became a delinquent of sorts, never being able to fulfill his secret desire to join Team Rocket. Jessie happily explains that she and James work for Team Rocket, and they are currently looking for new recruits. She agrees to give Josh a tryout as a new agent, but James is even more suspicious. While Meowth does battle with the Ghosts, Giovanni accepts Josh into the Rocket organization and provides him with his uniform, teaming him with Jessie and James for their next crime. On their way to pilfer the Kanto National Bank in Saffron City, Josh tells James just how much he’s missed Jessie over the years - he never got to tell her in high school, but he’d always been infatuated with her. James can’t take any more, and vehemently reminds Josh that Jessie is already married to him. Josh doesn’t appreciate being thrown around, and decides to let Jessie decide who she really loves. To nobody’s great surprise, Jessie informs them that she loves James and always will - they are married, after all - and she only helped Josh off the street because she knew him and felt sorry for him, not because she loved him. Josh leaves Team Rocket in a huff before the heist can even commence. Jessie and James decide it’s for the better and return to base, only to find Giovanni and Meowth standing beside a massive pile of rubble - Meowth’s attempts at getting the Ghost Pokémon out resulted in his accidental implosion of the entire tower. Not one to let minor setbacks get in his way, Giovanni leads his agents off again on the search for a base.

“Why Kiss a Girl?”
Episode 10ACP11
Original Airdate: 1/25/13
Guest Voice: Kathy Kinney as Grumpig

As the third Hoenn contest grows closer, May begins to lose some of her initial enthusiasm for coordinating. Even after her extensive therapy sessions, she still longs for a boyfriend, and her contests have taken away from her personal life. With this in mind, she decides to keep an eye out in the coming weeks for a man with potential while still devoting time to her training. The next contest is in Verdanturf Town, and when May goes there to register, she encounters Kelly, another of her previous opponents. Kelly is overjoyed to see May again, and is even happier when she learns that the two will be entering the same contest. May and Kelly get together to train outside of town, and during their training session, May is introduced to another coordinator who is entering the upcoming contest, a handsome man named Joel. May finds herself smitten with him, but Kelly doesn’t seem to notice. After May sets off for home, Kelly confides in her Grumpig regarding how much she’s missed May over the years. Unbeknownst to May, Kelly has recently come to terms with her bisexuality and has an ever-increasing crush on May that she has not told anyone about. She plans to finally tell May of this decision on the day of the contest. However, May and Joel have already traded phone numbers and have planned to meet again before the contest. The two coordinators quickly develop a rapport with each other, and May suspects that she may have found her first true boyfriend since becoming a coordinator again. When the contest arrives, May works her way up the ranks until she finds herself squaring off with Kelly. She has an unusually easy time winning against Kelly, and after their appeals are over, May asks Kelly whether or not she let her win. Before Kelly can confess her feelings, May is called back to the arena to compete against her final opponent - Joel. Kelly watches with bewilderment as May and Joel trade semi-romantic banter across the arena. Finally, May emerges victorious, earning her third ribbon - and Kelly is horrified to see Joel rush over and hug her. Furious, Kelly rushes over and makes it look as if she and May are already involved in order to fend off Joel. When Joel doesn’t believe it, Kelly grabs May by the shoulders and kisses her. Offset, Joel decides then and there to stop seeing May, who is shocked at Kelly’s behavior. Kelly declares that she’s in love with May and doesn’t care who knows it - but May apologetically informs Kelly that she’s straight. Deflated, Kelly allows May to leave, but agrees to remain friendly with her. As May leaves, Joel approaches Kelly and asks what all that was about. Kelly admits that she’s bisexual - and, taking advantage of her dual-pronged sexual fascination, secures a date with Joel.

“Fear of a Bit Player”
Episode 10ACP10
Original Airdate: 2/1/13

Paying Professor Oak a visit one weekend, Ash and Misty find that he already has a visitor - Professor Lund and his family of LaRousse City. Lund and Oak are currently collaborating on a research project in the Hoenn region, and Lund has brought his family and friends to see the Kanto region. Ash immediately recognizes Lund’s now-teenage son Tory, who is now proud to announce that he’s a Pokémon Trainer, having completely overcome his fear of Pokémon. Also staying in Pallet Town at the time are Tory’s friends Rafe, Rebecca, Sid, Catherine, and Audrey. Misty has never met any of these people before and is eager to meet them, while Ash invites Tory to battle him at the Viridian City Gym. Tory accepts, but on the way out of the lab, he exits through the wrong door and finds himself in the Poké Ball storage facility, where Tracey is tending to several of the Poké Balls on one of the uppermost shelves. Trying to see what Tracey is up to, Tory accidentally tips Tracey’s ladder, causing the entire shelf to crash to the ground and resulting in a massive explosion of opening Poké Balls. Tory is caught in the ensuing stampede of Pokémon, and while Tracey and Ash round them up, Lund and Yuko are distraught to find their son huddled on the floor, unhurt but with his fear of Pokémon firmly restored by the traumatic incident. The next day, Tory’s fear is still prominent, as he cowers in fright at Butterfree and Ratatta on the street. Realizing that something has to be done, Lund and Yuko take their son to Ash’s gym, where Ash tries to remind Tory of how brave he was around Pokémon the last time they met. He tries to hold a battle with him as he promised, but Ash’s Pokémon intimidate Tory too much. Overcome with fear, Tory rips his Poké Balls from his belt and renounces his status as a trainer, then storms out of the gym. Ash feels terrible about this development, and he and Misty feel that they need to do something. Meeting with Tory’s friends, they all invite him over to Ash and Misty’s house to try and convince him that Pokémon are nothing to be frightened of. They all send out their Pokémon for proof, but Rafe’s Blaziken, Sid’s Blastoise, Misty’s Golduck, Catherine and Audrey’s two Masquerain, and especially Rebecca’s Metagross only amplify Tory’s fright. Pikachu and Togetic try to talk Tory out of his fear, but Tory’s refusal to see things their way only infuriates Togetic to the point of slapping Tory around, accentuating his fear even more. Finally, Professor Oak and Tracey propose that they try to ease Tory’s trust back by introducing him to some of the least threatening Pokémon around. Ash and Misty take Tory to Mt. Moon to introduce him to the Clefairy that live there, but Tory is intimidated by the Zubat fluttering around the cave. Their troubles deepen when they encounter an all-too familiar face - the Jigglypuff that followed Ash, Misty, and Brock around the Kanto, Orange, and Johto regions for five years has finally caught up with them again, and has gone totally mad with anticipation that someone might hear her song. Though Ash and Misty try to escape, Tory cannot run fast enough and winds up cornered by the Pokémon. In desperation, he picks up a rock and throws it at Jigglypuff, hitting it square in the stomach. The rock turns out to be a Moon Stone, and it causes Jigglypuff to finally evolve into Wigglytuff. Tory sees the googly-eyed puff ball doubled over in pain and realizes that he really has nothing to fear after all. Confident, he captures Wigglytuff and tosses her microphone into the bushes. Lund and Yuko thank Ash and Misty greatly for helping their son, while Ash and Misty agree not to divulge the fact that they were actually the ones who ran in fear.

“The Longest Guard”
Episode 10ACP12
Original Airdate: 2/8/13

In an attempt to encourage Pikachu and Togetic to get some exercise, Ash and Misty tell them to go play outside for a while. Pikachu and Togetic are immensely bored outside, until they find a Gloom wandering aimlessly through the backyard. Suspecting that it may have escaped from Oak’s lab, Pikachu discovers an ID tag on the Pokémon that bears the inscription “If lost, please return to Melanie’s Abused Pokémon Shelter”. Ash and Misty recognize the name Melanie and realize that the Gloom escaped from the shelter that Ash obtained his Venusaur from back when it was still a Bulbasaur. He and Misty set off to return the Gloom, and when they arrive, Melanie is extremely relieved to see that nothing has happened to it. She explains that her Pokémon have been wandering off a lot lately because she’s been taking night classes at the nearby Cerulean City Community College and has been unable to devote all her time to the shelter, and the temps she’s been hiring aren’t all that good at their job. Ash allows Venusaur to see his old master for a chance to catch up, and while Ash and Misty survey the shelter’s grounds, Melanie admits to Venusaur that she needs him to return to his old guarding duties. Venusaur is taken aback, not able to fathom the thought of abandoning his trainer of 21 years. When Ash learns of this request, he finds it even harder to grasp - he’s already reclaimed all seven of the Pokémon that he released over the years, and he doesn’t want to give up another one. However, he realizes that, if Venusaur’s presence is needed elsewhere, it would be selfish of him not to comply, and with a heavy heart, he agrees to give Venusaur back to Melanie. As the week progresses, Ash notes that his gym battles are going somewhat differently - though his Meganium and Sceptile are both accomplished and much faster Grass Pokémon, neither of them know Solarbeam, which was Venusaur’s signature and most powerful attack. Though Ash still thinks that he made the right decision, Pikachu reminds him of what a strong bond he and Venusaur had - aside from Pikachu himself, Venusaur was the one Pokémon that Ash had owned for the longest period of time. Ultimately, Ash realizes that he’s let his selflessness get in the way of his friendship with his Pokémon, and he sets off to regain his friend. However, when he arrives at Melanie’s shelter, he is shocked to see it abandoned. Gathering information from the locals, Ash learns that Melanie has relocated to the northern Hoenn region. Remembering that Melanie said she was taking night courses at Cerulean City, Ash suspects foul play. He and Misty travel to Melanie’s new location outside Meteor Falls, but Melanie refuses to surrender Venusaur. Calling her on how she seemingly abandoned her classes, Ash discovers that Melanie was lying - she took no classes, hired no temps, and she doesn’t even care about raising abused Pokémon anymore; she just wanted Venusaur back. It’s actually her unbridled laziness that’s resulted in her Pokémon continually wandering off. Insisting that Ash can’t take Venusaur back, Melanie tries to make Venusaur attack Ash to get him to leave, but instead Venusaur picks up Melanie with his Vine Whips and tosses her into the nearby lake. Venusaur then readily returns to Ash, who promises never to release one of his Pokémon ever again.

You're episodes are the best. I loved the Mt. Pyre Handgun Massacre.

Well, what can be said about your newest episodes? A high school crush returning, Kelly found to be bisexual, Tory catching the evil Jigglypuff and Melanie cleverly stealing Venusaur! What other plots could you possibly come up with?

I still don't have a favorite for this season.

You're doing a great job! Keep up the good work! :)

*patiently waits for the next installment.*

Jesse, are you trying to pretend the Battle Frontier Jungle Battle never happened? Sceptile does know Solarbeam, but hasn't used it since that match.

Don't worry - any and all ambiguities between the original series and this series (like, for instance, Ash being the 2006 Hoenn League Champion) will be explained in the series finale.
