"Pokémon: Intensity" - Season 9

At long last, it's finally here. Sorry I kept you hanging for so long. And extra-special thanks to Sherlock Shuckle for giving me the inspiration for episode 9ACP04 and helping me overcome my writer's block. As usual, here's the first six episodes, with more to follow in the coming days and weeks. Enjoy!

“Leader of the Hack”
Episode 8ACP23
Original Airdate: 9/16/11

Ash and Misty are enjoying their new life together in Pallet Town. However, neither one of them is gainfully employed at the moment. Ash decides that, for once, he’s going to get a job doing something he likes to do, not wanting a repeat of his years at the bike shop. Checking the newspaper for job leads, Ash hears from Professor Oak that the Viridian City Gym is currently being reconstructed after the old gym building was demolished a few months ago, and the Kanto Gym Leaders’ Union is looking for a new member to head the gym. Ash realizes that this would be the perfect opportunity for him to get a new job while still doing something he enjoys. He approaches the Kanto Gym Leaders’ Union and announces that he wants to come out of retirement, but union leader Lance tells him that his Pokémon are too out of shape to be used as fighters. Furthermore, there is already another contender for the position of Viridian gym leader – AJ, the unofficial gym leader whose Pokémon are in much better physical condition. With only a week before the decision is made, Ash realizes that he must train his Pokémon like never before in order to make the cut. Meanwhile, Misty is discontent just sitting around the house all day, and decides that she wants something to do too. While Ash trains his team in the Viridian Forest, Misty stops by the Viridian City Pokémon Center and requests a job application – she would like to try and become a Pokémon nurse. Though the Pokémon Centers are usually operated by the nepotistic Joy family, Misty is still offered a trial period. Meanwhile, Ash can’t get his Pokémon to show any enthusiasm about competing for the position of Viridian gym leader. Pikachu and the others would much rather continue to live their life of retirement than put in hard labor every day. Irritated, Ash inspires them by reminding them of how much their hard work paid off twenty years ago when they were still competing in the regional league challenges. Agreeing to help out their trainer one more time, Ash’s Pokémon kick it into high gear. At the Pokémon Center, Misty proves to be a very competent nurse, but she has to bring Togetic with her to work every day. When Togetic’s constant complaining gets to be too distracting, Misty snaps, screaming at Togetic to shut up. Appalled, Nurse Joy fires Misty on the spot. Back at the gym, Ash must combat AJ in order for the union to decide which one of them is more worthy. Sure enough, Ash’s team manages to flatten everything AJ sends out, and Lance commissions Ash as the new Viridian City gym leader.

“A Giver Guns Through It”
Episode 8ACP24
Original Airdate: 9/23/11
Guest Voice: Wayne Brady as Craig

Having fled Japan, Jessie, James, Meowth, and Giovanni pilot their stolen helicopter across the Pacific Ocean towards America. Giovanni announces that their new base will be in New York City, a town so busy that nobody will be able to find them. Regardless, Jessie and James just want to be on the ground, as they’ve been on the run for weeks. Finally, their chopper touches down at LaGuardia Airport, and the four villains make their stealthy escape into the city. They find an abandoned brownstone that proves to be spacious enough to accommodate them, and Giovanni immediately puts Jessie and James to work on their first assignment in America – finding at least one new partner. Jessie and James prowl the streets of New York City, which are crawling with lowlifes. However, they want to make sure that nobody they hire will ever outperform them, and they settle on a homeless man named Craig. Eternally grateful for being taken off the street, Craig promises to help Jessie and James with whatever they need. After Craig cleans up, Giovanni gives him a uniform and a gun, welcoming him to Team Rocket. Craig is slightly surprised, but still decides that he can’t just walk away from the people who helped him and agrees to go along. Upon Craig’s first bank robbery, he manages to do quite well with Jessie and James’ help. However, after several more crimes, Meowth begins to suspect that Jessie and James are paying more attention to their new partner than they are to him. This suspicion compounds further when Giovanni agrees to give Craig a raise for his achievements. Distracted by his dislike for Craig, Meowth’s performance begins to worsen, and Giovanni expresses his displeasure. Fearing that he’ll be fired, Meowth decides to put an end to Craig once and for all. In the alley behind the brownstone, Meowth intends to shoot Craig and dump his body, but before he can do so, Craig gives Meowth all the money he received with his raise, as a token of appreciation for helping him off the streets. Stunned at Craig’s generosity, Meowth finds himself unable to murder his partner. However, Giovanni witnesses the act and berates Craig for giving his money to a Rocket agent who did nothing to earn it. The act gets Craig fired, and he returns to the homeless mission from whence he came. Jessie and James are sad to see their partner go, but Meowth can at least rest assured that his spot on the Rocket roster is still secure.

“Wally in the Family”
Episode 9ACP02
Original Airdate: 10/7/11
Guest Voices: Matthew Lawrence as Wally, Teri Polo as Gardevoir

Though Ash and Misty have moved back to Pallet Town, May and Max are still residing in the Battle Frontier. May is once again concerned that she will never find a boyfriend, and she begins getting desperate after searching for so long. Eventually, Max suggests that his sister should try “the final frontier” – video dating services. May offers herself up by video and sends it to every male in the service’s register, but gets no responses. Utterly depressed, May ends up at a singles bar in an attempt to drown her sorrows. On her way out the door, she runs into a green-haired man and causes him to drop the Poké Balls on his belt. May helps him gather them up, and the man introduces himself as Wally. He explains that he is a trainer who has spent most of his life in the Hoenn region, having received tutelage from Professor Birch’s son Brendan. May exclaims that she once dated Brendan, and the two trainers hit it off very well. To May’s great surprise, Wally asks for May’s phone number. Upon giving it to him, May happily returns home and announces to Max that she’s found someone new at last. On their next date, May and Wally allow their Pokémon to mingle, and the trainers themselves discover how much they have in common. May begins to suspect that Wally may be the man she’s been looking for all these years, but Max warns her not to take her relationship too fast. May ignores her brother, still too caught up in her romance with Wally. After a month of dating Wally, May is already anticipating what their wedding might be like, but then decides not to wait and prepares to ask Wally herself. Max tries to stop her, insisting that she’s getting too excited over having a boyfriend, but May accuses Max of trying to stand in the way of her happiness and pushes him aside. On her next date with Wally, May asks him to marry her almost immediately. Though Wally is taken aback, he agrees to her proposal. May and Wally quickly begin planning their wedding, and decide that they must move to a larger house in order to accommodate their new life. They gather up their things and move to Saffron City in the Kanto region, and May excitedly calls everyone she knows and tells them the good news. Ash, Misty, Brock, Delia, Tracey, Oak, Gary, Norman, Caroline, and Professor Birch are all highly suspicious of May, suspecting that she’s caught up in the uncontrollable euphoria of her relationship. On the day of the wedding, nobody can keep their silence. May is horrified to see that everyone in attendance objects to her marrying Wally, and even Wally himself believes that he might not be ready. When Wally walks out, May is heartbroken, but Max assures her that she needs to learn that a true relationship takes time to develop.

“Minding the Storage”
Episode 9ACP01
Original Airdate: 10/14/11
Guest Voice: Winona Ryder as Colette

As the new gym leader at Viridian City, Ash treats his opponents fairly. His primary strategy is to continually switch out Pokémon of different elements in order to keep the challenging trainers on their toes. In order to maintain a variety of types, Ash switches his team around every week, keeping Pikachu by his side and substituting five new Pokémon each time. This strategy proves to be effective, as each trainer admits to Ash that he is a truly challenging opponent. However, one week while Ash is swapping his team, his computer crashes moments after he deposits his five Pokémon. Logging back onto Professor Oak’s storage system after rebooting, Ash finds that he can’t withdraw anything. Concerned about his team, he, Misty, and Pikachu visit Professor Oak, who inform Ash that he’s having difficulty with his storage system’s software. No trainers have been able to withdraw any Pokémon lately, and not even he himself can get into the network to access the storage facilities. With nearly all his Pokémon trapped in Oak’s storage unit, Ash begins to worry. Neither Tracey nor Gary can figure out what’s wrong, so Oak is left to call in the top expert on Pokémon storage – Colette. Colette announces that she can fix the storage system, but it will take a week to get the parts she needs. Meanwhile, Ash is left to fend off the challengers at the Viridian City Gym with only his Pikachu. Of course, this wears Pikachu out, as he is forced to take on every opponent and has no effect on Rock-and-Ground types. Misty agrees to help out by loaning Ash a few of her Pokémon, such as Golduck, Gyarados, and Togetic, who reluctantly proves effective with her Metronome attack. Still, Ash finds it difficult to make it through the week, and is overjoyed when he learns that Colette has repaired the storage system. Ash finally withdraws Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, Butterfree, and Pidgeot for the week. However, none of them show any interest in fighting when they get on the battlefield – they laze around and disobey. Ash calls Colette and asks what happened, and is horrified to learn that Colette has installed a happiness rater in Oak’s PC. Much like the technique used in Bill’s storage system, Pokémon now decrease in happiness the longer they are left in storage. Colette realizes that the rater is working on too high a capacity and agrees to fix her error. In the meantime, Ash is still left with five disobedient Pokémon. He begs them to obey during their battles, but they merely attack him. However, Pikachu jumps onto the field and reminds them of what Ash has done for them, and that it was not his fault that he could not withdraw them from storage for so long. Realizing their selfishness, Ash’s Pokémon revert to their former states of mind and proceed to win Ash’s battle for him.

“The Parent Crap”
Episode 9ACP03
Original Airdate: 10/21/11

Repulsed by the condition of the pool in the center of their gym, Violet, Lily, and Daisy decide to clean it. Realizing that they need more manpower for the job, they invite Ash and Misty over to help. While scrubbing the pool walls, Ash notes that Violet and her sisters always call on him and Misty to help them out at the gym, and asks why they don’t ever talk to their parents about such matters. Almost immediately, Ash realizes that he’s struck a nerve, as Violet, Lily, and Daisy tell him to drop the subject immediately and get out. On the way home, Ash asks Misty why she’s never, in the 20 years that he’s known her, so much as mentioned her parents. Misty solemnly explains that, when she was very young and her sisters were only a few years older, their parents left for a brief run of errands and never came back. Though Violet, Lily, and Daisy were only children, they were left to raise Misty and run the gym themselves. This eventually led to their superiority complexes, and their poor financial skills resulted in Misty only having hand-me-downs all her life. Horrified to finally learn about his wife’s sordid childhood, Ash encourages Misty to try and reunite with her parents. Pitching the idea to her sisters, Misty immediately sets out a country-wide search for the mother and father who abandoned her. At first, nobody comes forward, and Misty begins to suspect that her parents may be out of the country, or perhaps even dead. But her suspicions are eradicated when an elderly couple comes knocking on the door of the Cerulean City Gym, claiming to be Jacques and Rose Waterflower. Misty, Violet, Lily, and Daisy are thoroughly overjoyed to have their parents back, and finally receive their explanation - while driving around that day, their car had skidded off a bridge and into a river leading to the sea, where they were picked up by a ship heading to America. Only recently had they returned to Japan. But among all the joy and emotion in the Waterflower family, Togetic does not buy Jacques and Rose’s story. She searches through Rose’s purse and Jacques’ wallet, finding driver’s licenses that identify them as Frank and Pearl Yoshiwara. Believing Misty’s “parents” to be a couple of con artists, Togetic tries to inform Misty of her discovery, but Misty angrily dismisses her, saying she doesn’t want her destroying her reunion with her parents. Ultimately, however, Frank and Pearl’s cover is blown when a routine police stop during a family outing leads to a high-speed chase and their arrest. Frank and Pearl admit that they only posed as the Waterflowers in the hopes of usurping the sisters’ gym. Upset over being fooled, Misty apologizes for not believing Togetic.

“Con Hair”
Episode 9ACP04
Original Airdate: 11/4/11

Giovanni sends Jessie and James on their first heist in America – robbing the ground floor of the Chase Manhattan Bank. Descending from the air in their chopper, the agents quickly make their way to the vault, immobilizing the security guards that try to stop them. However, as they escape, Jessie catches the eye of an innocent bystander. When the police arrive, the bystander acts as an eyewitness and describes Jessie to a sketch artist. Within days, every newspaper and TV network is plastered with Jessie’s image, labeling her as a wanted suspect in the bank robbery. Jessie realizes that steps must be taken to avoid her detection. Based on suggestions from Giovanni, Jessie decides to alter her hairstyle, finally ditching her beloved long hair for the much shorter cut she briefly sported 12 years ago. Meanwhile, James and Meowth have brought in another hopeful new recruit to the Rocket ranks, a former drug mule named Tyra. However, what Tyra hasn’t told her new employers is that she’s a closeted lesbian. Placed on her first secret mission with Jessie and James, Tyra believes the short-haired Jessie to be a member of her own team and becomes unavoidably attracted to her. Jessie doesn’t catch on to this fact until Tyra gets her alone in the alley behind Rocket HQ and tries to kiss her. Thoroughly unsettled by her coworker’s advances, she clarifies that she’s married to James already, but Tyra isn’t convinced. She begins to believe that Jessie is afraid to admit her feelings, but despite all her prying, Jessie backs off every time. Eventually, Tyra approaches James and asks him what Jessie’s situation is, and he tells her why Jessie had to revert to her short hair. Jealous of James’ relationship with Jessie, Tyra attempts to exact revenge on him by squealing to the cops regarding the location of Jessie and James’ next robbery, claiming that the woman from the Chase Bank heist will be there. However, Jessie and James catch wise to her scheme and pull out of the mission before the police can arrive. Back at the base, Giovanni expresses his anger with Tyra for nearly exposing the Rocket organization, but understands that she’s in love and decides not to have her whacked. Instead, he knocks her unconscious – and when she awakens, she’s on the front step of the police station, dressed in Jessie’s uniform with a wig glued to her head identical to Jessie’s long hair. Believing themselves to have the bank robber, the police arrest Tyra on the spot. At base, Jessie decides to keep her short hair as a change of pace.

Well, I guess news travels pretty slowly...

It seems I'm stuck again - this time, I've got a main plot for an episode, but I can't think of a subplot for it. While I brainstorm, I'll at least give you the next four episodes that I have completed.

“Jeers of a Clown”
Episode 9ACP05
Original Airdate: 11/11/11

Delia has Ash and Misty over to the house for a visit one day. While there, Ash notices how busy Mimey is in his duties of household chores. Out of curiosity, Misty asks Delia how much she pays Mimey, and Delia, somewhat flustered, admits that Mimey doesn’t work for a paycheck but out of the goodness of his heart. Ash and Misty note that, even if Mimey isn’t getting paid, he should at least deserve a vacation. Delia agrees, and surprises Mimey by giving him the following two weeks off. Pleased, Mimey spends his first few days lying around the house, but worries that he’s getting too lazy and starts doing random chores again. Delia assures him that this time is his own, that he has the right to make his own decisions, and he can do whatever he wants. Mimey takes this advice to heart and goes out to see the rest of Pallet Town, as he rarely ventures off of Delia’s property. Intrigued by the construction in a vacant field, Mimey discovers that the Pokémon Circus he was previously employed at has returned, and his old owner Stella is still the ringmaster. Stella greets Mimey with open arms, but laments that her act has not been the same since he left it 19 years ago. With his vacation time, Mimey agrees to be a “guest star” in her act, and invites Delia, Ash, and the others to see him perform. On the night of the show, Mimey wins over the crowd with his balancing act and Barrier abilities. Stella is so impressed that she asks Delia if she can have Mimey back as a permanent cast member in her act. Delia is surprised, but Mimey doesn’t object – he claims that he can go back to a life of showbusiness, and that he would keep in close contact with Delia while on his travels. Ultimately, Delia agrees that Mimey has the right to decide for himself, and allows him to rejoin the circus. On the road again, Mimey prepares for a thrilling career, but it soon becomes apparent that Stella does not want him to lose focus in the least. In the rehearsals for the next show, Stella works Mimey to the bone, whipping him mercilessly when he fails to perform correctly. Back at home, Delia is having a hard time adjusting to not having a housekeeper and finds it difficult to do even the simplest household tasks. Realizing that she’s too accustomed to Mimey’s presence, she and Ash set off to Stella’s circus to get him back. Mimey realizes he’s made a mistake, but Stella refuses to let him leave again, claiming that he’s essential to the act. However, Mimey has gotten used to making his own decisions and retaliates against his abusive ringmaster, willingly returning to the understanding and accepting Delia.

“You Get Your Life”
Episode 9ACP06
Original Airdate: 11/18/11

Still living in Saffron City, May and Max have their share of disagreements. When Max finds his sister poring over her old Pokémon Contest ribbon case, he chides her for living in the past and refusing to move on. May notes that she’s just reminiscing, and that Max doesn’t even have any prospects in the present. When Max shoots back that she doesn’t have any either, both siblings realize that they should put some serious thought into deciding what they want to do with their lives. While May looks for a paying job, Max is still living off his repaid student loans from his brief stint at the Johto Institute of Technology and decides to get a career doing something he’d enjoy. Taking advice from Ash and Misty, Max searches for a fun career and decides that nothing could be more fun than helping his longtime idol, Professor Oak. He approaches Oak in his lab and asks for a job as an assistant, but Oak already has Tracey. Going for the next best thing, Max decides to be Tracey’s apprentice. Meanwhile, May finds herself at the Celadon City Department Store, where some of the highest-paying jobs in Kanto are. Hoping to become a product tester, May is somewhat offset when the store’s manager tells her that such jobs aren’t done at the store. Instead, May is placed in the only available position – saleslady in the perfume department. Back at Oak’s lab, Max finds that he’s learning a great deal from Tracey. In fact, Max is even more intrigued by Tracey’s pastime of Pokémon watching and decides to take after him instead. To familiarize Max with the intricate world of Pokémon watching, Tracey takes him to a meeting of the Pokémon Watcher’s Institute. There, he learns that watcher Dr. Quackenpoker is holding a retreat in the Orange Islands over the coming weekend and is looking for volunteers to come along. Quackenpoker is generally seen as a joke, and only Tracey and Max agree to accompany him. In Celadon City, May learns of one of the fringe benefits of being a perfume saleslady – she is also required to be an apprentice at the Celadon City Gym. When gym leader Erika sees how inept May is with her Venusaur, she is skeptical. May seals her fate when she grudgingly laments that she doesn’t even like perfume, and Erika fires her on the spot. In the Orange Islands, Max’s initial excitement turns to despair when Quackenpoker gets all three of them hopelessly lost. Forced to spend the night in the wilderness, Max nearly goes insane due to the incessant sounds and intrusions of nature. Finally, Tracey assumes the position of retreat leader and uses his Venomoth and Azumarill to find the way back to civilization. Max decides that Pokémon watching is certainly not the career for him after all.

“Aggravated Lizard in the Air”
Episode 9ACP07
Original Airdate: 11/25/11
Guest Voice: Michael Chiklis as Blaziken

As the gym leader for Viridian City, Ash considers himself fair and balanced. He never goes easy on an opponent, and accepts any defeat with humility and a sense of pride. His Pokémon take no issue with being defeated either – except for the powerhouse Charizard, who has yet to be defeated by any opponent. However, Ash soon finds a familiar face in his gym – Harrison, the trainer who defeated him in the Johto League Silver Conference 15 years ago. Harrison has recently taken on the Kanto Gym Challenge, and only needs his Earth Badge to complete it. Ash is eager to have a rematch with his former sparring partner, and the battle soon pits Ash’s Charizard against Harrison’s Blaziken like before. However, despite Charizard’s best efforts, Blaziken uses the same strategy he used 15 years ago to win. Though Ash willingly gives Harrison an Earth Badge and wishes him the best of luck, Charizard is devastated. That evening, Charizard cannot get his mind off his loss, no matter how much Ash, Misty, and Pikachu try to console him. The fear that he might not be a worthy fighter begins to build up in his mind, and as a result, his performance in gym battles begins to get worse. Ash can’t get Charizard to stop moping and eventually quits using him in gym battles altogether. When Charizard confides in Togetic regarding his depression, Togetic tells him that it’s Harrison’s fault – after all, Charizard spent years training in the Charicific Valley and should be unstoppable, so clearly Harrison is using foul play tactics to win. In his depression-addled state, Charizard believes Togetic and becomes infuriated. Ash notices this newfound hostility in Charizard and decides to let him fight again, but Charizard’s aggression is not meant for his opponents. During one match, where Ash’s opponent taunts Charizard for being weak, Charizard flies out a window in a blinding rage. Ash worries about his Pokémon and has Professor Oak try to track him down from the lab. Spotting him flying in the direction of the Indigo Plateau, Ash realizes what Charizard plans to do and sets off to stop him. At the Plateau, where the quarterfinals for the annual Indigo League Conference are underway, Charizard spots Harrison on the field in the middle of a battle and begins attacking his Pokémon from the air, bent on preventing him from ever reaching the semifinals. Ash arrives and tries to talk Charizard out of it, and Misty has Togetic apologize for what she said, but nothing can bring Charizard down – except a round of tranquilizers from the Wild Pokémon Control officials that arrive. Back at home, Charizard admits that he flew off the handle and vows not to do so again.

“About Lust Night...”
Episode 9ACP08
Original Airdate: 12/9/11

The Chinese Team Aqua and Team Magma are still constantly at war, with bosses Archie and Maxie hell-bent on stealing each others’ victories. When Team Magma plans to steal every item in the new wing of a recently-opened museum, Team Aqua spies catch wind of the plot and prepare to beat them to it. However, when both show up at the museum, both are cornered by the police. Narrowly escaping, the two teams are shocked to find that both their bosses are publicly wanted by the Chinese police force. Deciding to continue their business in a place that won’t be on a constant lookout for them, Team Aqua decides to relocate to America – and naturally, Team Magma is hot on their tails. It just so happens that both teams set up shop in New York City, right under the nose of Giovanni and the slowly recuperating Team Rocket. During a bank robbery, Jessie and James are surprised to see Harlan and Isabel are each trying to get to the vault first. When the two commanders notice they’re being watched, they confront the two Rocket agents and promise to wipe them out of America in the hopes of their respective team becoming the reigning kingpin. Reporting this information back to Giovanni, Jessie and James relocate their base from the abandoned brownstone to a condemned factory on the East River. Meanwhile, Archie and Maxie both want Team Rocket destroyed, and send their top agents on a citywide search to find everyone who might conceivably be a Rocket agent. Not knowing that Jessie, James, and Meowth are the only agents left, their searches turn up nothing but more animosity between the teams. However, Harlan closes in on Giovanni’s new hideout and believes that he has it made – until Isabel shows up and tries to beat him to it. Jessie and James find the two agents creeping in through the ductwork, but neither Harlan nor Isabel can agree on who will carry out the assassination, leading to a physical fistfight between the commanders. Sick and tired of having to put up with this, Jessie and James kick Harley and Isabel into a closet and lock the door, then call up Archie and Maxie. They inform them that they will free the two agents if both Team Aqua and Team Magma agree to get out of America for good. Inside the closet, Harlan and Isabel realize that their feud is based solely on the fact that their two bosses hate each other. After a discussion of how they got into their businesses, Harlan and Isabel realize how attracted they are to each other. Jessie and James open the closet door to find the two commanders consummating their newfound passion, and disgustedly tell them to leave. Back at their respective bases, Harlan and Isabel hand in their resignation papers and leave together, having discovered that life is too important to spend hating each other. With their best field agents gone, Archie and Maxie grudgingly travel back to Japan to start recruiting again, each still vowing to destroy the other.

Brilliant! Well done, I like the descripitions! Can you link me to the first 7 series?

I was frozen today!
The first seven seasons are readily available in the Completed Fics section.

As for where I'm stuck, it's an episode where Gary borrows Ash's Pikachu for a research experiment at Professor Oak's lab. Before he can return Pikachu, Gary has to go with his grandfather on an emergency trip to the Orange Islands, but fails to inform Ash, leaving him without his star Pokémon for an indefinite period of time. In order to get him back, Ash finds out where Gary's gone and heads down to the islands himself to set his reneging friend straight. I'm happy with this plot, but it's not enough to fill a half-hour and I need a subplot for it. I want to do something involving Misty and Togetic, since Togetic doesn't have a hell of a lot to do this season. I haven't played up Togetic's teenage tendencies in a while, and I'm hoping to do something like that, maybe involving her romantic life (which is something I've never really delved into before). If anyone's got any ideas, feel free to PM me with a suggestion.

YAY!!!1111!!!

The next season of Pokemon Intensity is released!

I really, REALLY like this serie of fanfics (well... it's not really true fanfics but... who cares?)! You have a way of portraying the characters as they should ; neither exagerated, neither OCC.

Really... this is excellent, as usual.

Cheers!

NOTE: Togetic? Sentimental life? Having that self-centered brat fall in love is an amusing thought! Go ahead with it! Also... Pikachu with Gary? I expect "shocking" results!

Anyway, I can't wait for the next part of your fic.

good episodes!

and you say you want to involve Misty and Togetic somehow...... and you maybe want to involve her romantic life...

how about you change it so Misty and Togetic travel to the orange islands with Ash, and maybe Togetic could fall in love with a random pokemon that they met on the island? Maybe one of Gary's pokemon!

or maybe:

while Ash has gone to the orange islands, Misty and Togetic decide to have a 'girls night out' in an attemp to create a strond bond, like thyey had when togetic as a togepi, while out in the town, togetic meets an attractive pokemon that she instantly fall is love with, and Misty trys to agrees to help togetic try and get the pokemon of her dreams.

and just incase you don't see this I will probably PM you

I agree with the romance thing. she could fall for something like a Hitmonchan, but after a while she annoys him so much he hits her? Maybe something like that.

tis a good idea! because like Jesse said via PM, it dosen't collide with the main storyline, just like Absol's didn't!

I was frozen today!
Seeing as how it's Christmas and all, I've only had time to write another four episodes, but here they are anyway. And thanks again to Sherlock Shuckle for inspiring me on 9ACP10 - turns out, with the subplot he gave me, I was able to tie it into the main plot after all.

“Pass the Rodent on the Left Hand Side”
Episode 9ACP10
Original Airdate: 12/16/11

As a freelance Pokémon researcher, Gary often spends time at his grandfather’s lab, overseeing Oak’s latest experiments. While in Pallet Town one weekend, Gary takes a quick trip up to Viridian City to pay Ash a visit at the gym. For old times’ sake, the two engage in a one-on-one battle that pits Pikachu against Gary’s Blastoise, and Pikachu wins admirably. Impressed with how much better Ash has gotten over the years, Gary congratulates him on having control over such a powerful team. Later that week, Gary and Professor Oak collaborate on a research experiment involving Electric Pokémon and asks Ash if he can borrow Pikachu for data collecting. Ash is unsure at first, but agrees to loan Pikachu out for as long as Gary needs - under the condition that Pikachu won’t be hurt. Meanwhile, Misty realizes that she and Togetic are developing more and more animosity between each other and tries desperately to create a bond between herself and her Pokémon, but Togetic wants no part of it. At Oak’s lab, Pikachu proves to be very valuable to the experiment, which Oak and Gary are conducting on behalf of Professor Ivy in the Orange Islands. When Gary rewards Pikachu with a Rare Candy, the Pokémon astonishes both researchers by spontaneously using a combination Electric-and-Psychic attack that neither of them have ever seen before. Realizing he’s made a breakthrough, Gary sets off with Pikachu down to the Orange Islands immediately. After they’ve left, Ash tries to check up on Pikachu, only to find that Gary is gone. Tracey, tending to the main lab, explains that Gary said something about going to the Orange Islands when he left. Recalling what Gary was saying about Pikachu earlier, Ash suspects that Gary’s taken Pikachu for his own Pokémon team. To find out, Ash catches the next blimp to the Orange Islands, leaving Misty and Togetic alone for the weekend. Misty takes this opportunity to take Togetic on a girls’ night out in Viridian City, but Togetic is still distant – until, while exploring Viridian’s entertainment district, she has an encounter with a male Muk. Having always had a thing for dirty boys, Togetic is unavoidably attracted to Muk, but he seems oblivious to her advances. Misty realizes that she can develop a bond with Togetic by offering her romantic tips, and before long, Togetic has won Muk over. Meanwhile, in the Orange Islands, Ash finds Gary at Professor Ivy’s lab and demands to have Pikachu back, but Ivy is so impressed with Pikachu’s attack that she would like to keep him in her collection. Despite Ash’s usual tendency to surrender his Pokémon when they are needed elsewhere, Ash refuses and takes his Pikachu back. Gary apologizes for leaving without first informing Ash, and the three head back to Pallet Town. Arriving home, Ash is taken aback to find Togetic’s repulsive new boyfriend in the house, but also sees that Togetic having a boy in her life has seemingly tamed her. Ash and Misty are overjoyed – until Pikachu spontaneously releases his new Electric-and-Psychic attack on Muk, repelling him from the house and returning Togetic to her sullen state.

“Owner of a Bone-ly Heart”
Episode 9ACP09
Original Airdate: 1/6/12
Guest Voice: Dustin Hoffman as Cubone

With Ash constantly at the Viridian City Gym, Misty finds that she is often at home for hours at a time with little to do. Togetic offers no consolation, so Misty takes it upon herself to fill the void in her life. That evening, she consults with Ash concerning something she can do to keep herself occupied, and Ash encourages her to do something she enjoys, just like he’s done with his life. Knowing that she likes working with Pokémon, Misty decides to take up a job at an abused Pokémon shelter. Meanwhile, at the Viridian Gym, Ash finds his battles being constantly interrupted by an intermittent scratching on the windows. He is alarmed to find the source of this disturbance – a large Fearow is continually attacking the glass. Pikachu recognizes it immediately as the Fearow that has caused Ash trouble before, primarily as a Spearow when it attacked Ash on his first day as a trainer in September 1998. Having discovered where Ash works now, Fearow vows to make Ash’s life a living hell, but Ash maintains that he can withstand the threats of a bird. Elsewhere, Misty finds work at the Viridian Pokémon Mission, one of a chain of shelters operated by Mr. Fuji in Lavender Town. However, the work turns out to be more complicated than she thought, as many of the Pokémon there are jaded products of harsh street life and refuse to listen to her, instead sympathizing with Togetic. Misty is about to quit when she finds an orphaned Cubone among the patrons of the mission. Cubone’s saddened demeanor and even sadder story of how his mother died encourage Misty to adopt the Pokémon for herself. While dividing his time between living a normal life and fending off the aggravating Fearow, Ash congratulates Misty on adopting a Pokémon that needed her. However, Togetic and Misty’s other Pokémon are suspicious. They catch Cubone rooting through the kitchen drawers and Misty’s bureau, and when they try to confront him, Cubone threatens bodily injury upon them if they say anything. When Misty’s favorite necklace goes missing and later turns up in Togetic’s sleeping area, Misty is outraged. Determined to clear her name, Togetic plans to catch Cubone in his own game. She and Ash’s Blastoise approach Cubone and get him to tell them his intricate plan to steal Ash and Misty’s valuables and then move on to another home, scavenging the most expensive items. However, Blastoise has hidden a tape recorder in his cannon well and plays the whole confession back to Misty, who sends Cubone back to the mission and apologizes to Togetic. At the gym, Ash is sick and tired of dealing with Fearow, and prepares to do battle with him. But Fearow finally agrees to leave on the condition that he is able to vent his anger in the one way he’s always wanted to – he hits Ash in the head with a rock.

“Miserly”
Episode 9ACP11
Original Airdate: 1/20/12

While celebrating his parents’ 16th marriage vow renewal anniversary, Brock realizes that he still hasn’t settled down with a girl yet. Wanting a relationship as long lasting as the one his parents have, he promises himself that he will find the girl of his dreams before the year is over. This is much easier said than done, as the singles population in Pewter City is virtually nil. While visiting Ash and Misty in Pallet Town, Brock voices his concerns to his friends, and Ash advises him to hang around the Indigo Plateau – many of the female trainers there are still single. Brock takes this suggestion to heart, but his trip to the Plateau yields no results. On his way back to the stadium’s main entrance, Brock encounters a female trainer named Katy, who explains that she has recently completed the Kanto Gym Challenge and is looking to find someone to train with in the months before the annual Indigo Conference. Brock agrees to help her out, and they begin their training sessions. Over the course of their training, the two grow steadily closer, and Brock begins to think that he may have found his perfect woman. Unfortunately, Katy takes the relationship a little too close to heart and begins smothering Brock with affection. Realizing that Katy may not be the woman for him after all, Brock lets her off easy during their next training session. Katy seemingly takes the news calmly, but then proceeds to knock Brock unconscious. When Brock awakens, he finds himself tied to a bed in Katy’s downtown Celadon City apartment. Katy, with a maniacal glint in her eye, tells Brock that now they will always be together. The next few days are a nightmare for Brock, as Katy puts him through all kinds of mental anguish while nobody else can figure out where he has gone. Finally, Brock demands to be set free, but Katy doesn’t take kindly to being yelled at and warns Brock that he must be punished for such behavior. She says she must go out to buy a sledgehammer and leaves Brock alone in the bedroom. Terrified, Brock takes advantage of Katy’s absence and tries to shake a Poké Ball off his waist. Finally, he manages to set forth his Crobat, whom he instructs to go and get help. A few hours after Crobat leaves, Katy returns and prepares to administer Brock’s punishment. She places a block of wood between Brock’s ankles and is just about to take a swing with the sledgehammer when Crobat returns, flanked by the local squad of Officer Jennys, who arrest Katy immediately. Shaken by the ordeal, Brock returns home and decides to rethink his promise to himself.

“I Feel Pity”
Episode 9ACP13
Original Airdate: 1/27/12

Taking a coat out of his closet, Ash reaches into a pocket and finds the badge case in which he’s stored his old Kanto Gym Challenge badges. Looking at them again, he realizes that he never really earned his Boulder, Cascade, Marsh, or Rainbow Badges in the traditional sense. Misty insists that the things he did do to obtain them were worthy of a reward anyway, and that any trainer would be more than happy to receive a badge purely as a debt of gratitude. Ash decides that she’s right and puts his suspicions to rest. The next day at the gym, Ash finds his opponent to be a familiar face – Otoshi, the trainer whose badges were once stolen by Jessie and James. Otoshi tells Ash that he has been trying to complete the Kanto Gym Challenge for years, but he was never allowed entry to the Indigo Conference without the eight badges sanctioned by the league, and it was always impossible for him to defeat Giovanni for an Earth Badge. However, Otoshi’s attempts at defeating Ash are just as fruitless, as his Marowak and Dodrio are easily subdued by Venusaur and Pikachu. Otoshi begs and pleads for Ash to give him the badge he needs to fulfill his lifelong dream in spite of his loss. Ash remembers his own pity badges and agrees to give Otoshi the Earth Badge as a reward for how bravely he fought. Pikachu thinks that Ash made the wrong decision, but Ash is confident – until Otoshi admits to the League Officials that his eighth badge was obtained through pity. Ash soon finds himself arraigned before the Kanto Pokémon League Commission on the grounds of administering a badge to a trainer who didn’t earn it. Facing a trial, Ash turns to Misty for help, and she advises him to firmly state his reasoning behind giving out the pity badge. This reasoning doesn’t fly with the KPLC board of officials, who plan to suspend Ash from his gym for six months. Ash cries unfair sentencing, citing precedent in the four pity badges that he earned back in 1998. This only leads to a further investigation that lands Brock, Erika, Sabrina, and even Violet, Lily, and Daisy in the same hot water that Ash is in. All seven trainers are tried before the highest powers in the Pokémon League, with Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance presiding as the jury. The League officials maintain that a trainer can only get a badge by beating a gym leader in a Pokémon Battle, but each of the leaders in attendance insist that Ash proved himself strong enough to deserve a badge, claiming that moral fiber and integrity are more important than who wins a fight. After a lengthy appeals process, the league agrees to drop the charges on one condition – Ash must go back to the Pewter, Cerulean, Celadon, and Saffron City Gyms and earn his badges traditionally. Ash agrees to these conditions, and prepares to visit the four cities again. Both he and Misty realize that, even if your heart is in the right place, your best efforts are probably worthless in the end.

NOTE: Edited 9ACP11 - originally, Katy was Kaede, from the as-yet-unaired-in-America Hoenn Conference, but I decided that her personality didn't fit the plot.

Here's four more, featuring the returns of four familiar characters, as well as three of my favorite guest voices (I tell you, it's a real hoot to put celebrities on this show).

“Mother and Crook Reunion”
Episode 9ACP12
Original Airdate: 2/3/12
Guest Voice: Kathleen Turner as Miyamoto

Jessie and James’ attempts at recruiting new Team Rocket agents have been going very slowly, and they begin to fear that they will never expand their team. However, Meowth prowls the streets by night and hears of a vicious gang of hardened criminals known as the Slayers that gather in the darkened alleys of downtown Manhattan every night. Attempting to recruit a few of their members, Jessie and James brave the Slayers’ harrowing initiation process and are allowed to freely walk upon their turf. The group’s leader, a scraggly-haired brute named Slash, agrees to join forces with Team Rocket upon noticing that Jessie bears a distinct resemblance to one of their former members. Curious, Jessie looks at the Slayers’ record of previous members and is shocked to find her birth mother Miyamoto among their former ranks. Noticing that her date of tenure is shortly after she was believed to be killed, Jessie suspects that her mother may still be alive somewhere. Gathering information from the other Slayers about her last known whereabouts, Jessie takes a leave of absence from Team Rocket and sets off with James to find Miyamoto. In the meantime, Meowth is left at the base to train the new recruits under Giovanni’s watchful eye. Jessie and James’ search for Miyamoto takes them well out of New York City, into the unsuspecting rural areas of Albany and Buffalo, and finally to mere miles outside the Canadian border. Jessie locates Miyamoto’s current residence – a county prison in Rochester. Upon her visit, the weather-beaten and bedraggled Miyamoto is overjoyed to see her daughter again, explaining that she faked her death in Japan in order to avoid the police tracking her down, then moved to America to start anew. Back at the base, Meowth completes his training with the Slayers, and they begin their lives of organized crime. However, Giovanni learns that the Slayers have a much more unorthodox method of operating, involving many more casualties than necessary. Though he tries to explain that their ammunition budget will only go so far at this point, Slash feels that he is being held back and takes his criminals’ business elsewhere. In Rochester, Jessie tries to help her mother break out of prison using the same tactics that she and James used a year and a half ago, and during the ensuing prison riot, Miyamoto makes her break for freedom. Reunited, Jessie and Miyamoto must flee again when the police spot them. Jessie sets the Rocket helicopter down in the Canadian mountains, where Miyamoto must go into hiding again. Though Jessie is sad to see her mother leave again, she is relieved that she was able to help her gain her freedom once more.

“I Love You Lots and Latias”
Episode 9ACP14
Original Airdate: 2/10/12

At the annual meeting of the Kanto Gym Leaders’ Union, Lance amends the union contract to include two weeks’ paid vacation a year for every gym leader, to be used whenever they want. Ash leaps at the opportunity to take his vacation right away – he fears that, with him at the gym all day, he may not be paying as much attention to Misty as he should. Ash surprises Misty with their vacation plans – two tickets for a fourteen-day trip to Alto Mare in the Johto region. They time their visit perfectly, as the annual Alto Festival is in full swing. While Ash and Misty enjoy the romantic qualities of the town, Togetic has more ambitious plans on her mind. She drags Pikachu to the canals and explains how she plans to enter the approaching canal race, in the hopes of earning enough money to have her own room built onto the house back in Pallet Town. Pikachu points out that she isn’t eligible as a racer, and Togetic looks around for someone whom she can get to represent her. Meanwhile, Ash and Misty run into a familiar face – they encounter Bianca at an outdoor restaurant. Ash remembers that the last time he saw Bianca, the two of them kissed, but his memories are displaced when he meets Eric, Bianca’s new boyfriend. Eric is a champion Pokémon trainer and a prime historian at the Temple of Alto Mare, dedicated to preserving the legend of Latios and Latias. Though Ash and Misty agree to spend some more time with Eric and Bianca over the next two weeks, Ash can’t help but feel the slightest bit jealous of Eric. However, he doesn’t dare tell this to Misty, who’s elated with all the quality time she’s been able to spend with Ash lately. When Togetic meets Eric, she tries to convince him to participate in the canal race on her behalf, putting on her best “pretty-please” facade. Eric agrees to her proposal, promising to give her a share of the winnings if he succeeds. Later that week, Ash runs into Bianca again, but Eric is not with her. Much to his surprise, Bianca tells Ash that she’s missed him deeply since the last time he was here, and then surprises him further with another passionate kiss. Greatly taken aback, Ash is confused beyond all belief. When he meets Eric and Bianca again, he tries to corner Bianca into admitting what she’s done, but Bianca maintains that she has no clue what he’s talking about. Misty tells Ash to stop being ridiculous, and Eric angrily accuses Ash of trying to break up his relationship with Bianca. By association, he also reneges on his agreement with Togetic. Exasperated, Togetic convinces the canal race referee to allow her entry as a racer, and she enters Misty’s Golduck as her Pokémon. Meanwhile, Ash is determined to get Bianca to admit to her deed, and he takes Misty to Bianca’s house that night. But Bianca still insists that she has never kissed Ash before, not even the time he remembers 16 years ago. Perplexed, and with Misty growing steadily more angry with him, Ash walks outside and stops dead in his tracks when he sees Bianca standing on the sidewalk before him. This time, Bianca follows him out of the house and sees herself standing there as well, noticeably unnerved by it. All three finally uncover the truth when the other Bianca admits her ruse and transforms back into the legendary Latias before their eyes. Latias apologizes for misleading Ash, and agrees to let him live his life with Misty, the woman he married. The next day, Ash and Misty return home, but not before Togetic competes in the canal race – and finishes dead last.

“And They Called It Kitty Love”
Episode 9ACP16
Original Airdate: 2/17/12
Guest Voice: Ben Stiller as Parasect

After Jessie and James’ latest bank robbery, Giovanni proudly announces that Team Rocket now has enough money to fund the sale of black market goods. However, in order to sell any goods, Jessie and James must obtain them first. They decide to go to where the biggest money is and break into Macy’s Department Store, emptying out the electronics department by night. On the way out, Meowth notices a store named Cassandra’s Apothecary. Recognizing the name, Meowth wonders if it’s owned by the same Cassandra who once took care of him when he was sick, but Jessie and James remind him that she’s all the way over in Japan. Nonetheless, Meowth returns to the store the next day, stealthily avoiding the police inspecting the break-in. He finds that Cassandra is indeed the proprietor of the store, and she is quite happy to see him again. Meowth remembers all the things she did for him years ago, but finds that she still has a Pokémon in her life – the Parasect that Jessie and James prompted into evolution. Realizing that Cassandra dotes more on Parasect now than she ever did, Meowth develops a severe case of jealousy. Regardless, he must hurry back to the Team Rocket base before he misses his next mission, during which, Jessie and James ask him where he’s been. Dancing around the subject, Meowth finds himself cornered when Jessie and James tell him to stay away from Cassandra’s store, given that it’s within such close vicinity to where they just committed a crime. Meowth still likes Cassandra, though, and refuses to stop visiting her – especially not when he still feels compelled to get her attention off of Parasect. Meanwhile, the Macy’s security guards notice that, despite the surveillance cameras in the electronics department having been obscured during the heist, Meowth is still partially visible in some of the footage. Not having a clear shot of him, and having never seen any Pokémon before, the guards submit the footage to the police, who put out a sketch of a criminal of short stature that vaguely resembles Meowth. When Cassandra sees the image on TV, she’s surprised to see the resemblance. The next day, Meowth actually skips out on a mission to visit Cassandra, during which he attempts to lock Parasect in a delivery truck bound for Connecticut. However, a passerby recognizes Meowth as the criminal seen on the news and calls the police, who quickly surround the loading dock. Meowth hides out in Cassandra’s store, admitting his crime-ridden lifestyle, as well as his devotion to her. Not wanting Cassandra to get hurt, Meowth gives himself up, but the police think he’s some kind of mutated cat and have him tranquilized by animal control. Meowth awakens in the pound, where Jessie and James arrive in disguise and grudgingly bail him out. Cassandra pays him a visit before he leaves, telling him not to come see her anymore. As Parasect smugly gloats about his victory, Meowth punches the bug Pokémon in the face.

“Mutiny on the Briney”
Episode 9ACP15
Original Airdate: 2/24/12
Guest Voice: Gilbert Gottfried as Peeko

Over the course of a lazy weekend, Ash and Misty look for activity at the Pallet Town Boat Show. Though neither of them are very big on boats, Misty figures that it’s at least marginally related to Water Pokémon training. Eventually, both of them realize that they’re fooling themselves and prepare to go home, until they run into Mr. Briney from the Hoenn region. Ash introduces Misty to the sailor, recalling how Briney helped him get to Dewford Town during his Hoenn adventures. Briney invites them to see his prized yacht anchored in the harbor, with which he is hoping to win first prize in the approaching boat races. However, a squabble between Pikachu and Togetic results in a misguided Metronome attack that turns into a Rock Tomb, crushing the hull of Briney’s boat and causing it to almost completely sink. Distraught, Briney fears the worst – he lives out of his boat now, and without it, he has no place to stay. Feeling sorry for him, Ash and Misty offer him temporary residence at their house. Briney is grateful for the opportunity and takes up residence in Ash and Misty’s guest bedroom, preparing to begin work on fixing his boat tomorrow. His pet Wingull, Peeko, shacks up in a cage in the living room, a containment to which he does not agree. Ash, Misty, Pikachu, and Togetic are kept up all night, distracted by Peeko’s endless squawking objections to being locked up. In the morning, Briney starts fixing his boat, but finds that he doesn’t have enough equipment. Trying to order the equipment he needs, he finds that it won’t be available for him to buy for the next three days, just barely leaving him time to fix his boat and participate in the race. This is even worse news for Ash and Misty, who must put up with Peeko’s endless blithering for three more nights. It takes a great toll on Ash’s performance at the gym, as he is barely able to stay awake during his battles. Unable to withstand the torture any longer, Ash and Misty tell Briney that he must either find another place for Peeko to sleep or else move out. Briney agrees to let Peeko fly around at night, but on the morning of Briney’s race, Peeko doesn’t return. Briney sets out to look for him, and asks Ash and Misty to fill in for him in the race. Again, they know nothing about sailing, but they attempt to wing it in order to help out their friend. Ultimately, they fail miserably and end up doing even more damage to the boat than before. Briney returns, having found Peeko again, and comforts Ash and Misty, reminding them that their attempt to help him was what mattered. With the boat damaged again, Briney asks for a few more days at Ash and Misty’s house. Wet, tired, sore, and miserable, Ash and Misty tell Briney to take his bird and find a hotel.

I found this bit funny!

Good ones, but I'm not sure why, but they don't have the same feel as the others, probably because I forgot they lived in Pallet.

those are good episodes!

the TR eps were the best out the 4 episodes I have to say! I forgot American's didn't know what a pokemon was...

*giggles* Nice choice of voice for Peeko. The somewhat-annoying squack behind Iago and Digit is a perfect match for the little Wingull.:D

Amphoroz_26

I'm angry ya'll! >:3
Wow! You're stories are so interesting!! But I wish togetic was a bit kinder and cuter once in a while, like it was when Togetic was togepi in anime...
I give you a 9/10 or maybe even a 9.8/10!

“Hollywood Scuffle”
Episode 9ACP17
Original Airdate: 3/16/12

After a particularly heated gym battle against a typical challenger, Ash notices that it’s 5:00, and prepares to go home for the evening. No sooner does he lock the gym doors than he is approached by Langston Sakashi, a legendary filmmaker who is currently putting together a documentary on Kanto’s greatest Pokémon trainers. He asks Ash’s permission to film him for a week, to get a good idea of how he lives and works. Ash has no problems with it, but Misty and the Pokémon object to having Sakashi’s camera crew invade their lives. Within the first day of filming, it becomes apparent that Ash has made the wrong decision, as cameramen poke their lenses into every crevice of his life. However, Pikachu quickly becomes enamored with the filmmaking process and is enraptured with the workings of the crew. By the time Sakashi clears out, Pikachu has become obsessed with the idea of directing his own productions. Ash, Misty, and Togetic are quick to point out that Pikachu can’t pursue such a goal, since he’s not actually human, but Pikachu ignores their derision. Borrowing Ash’s camcorder, he plans to put together an independent film of his own design. Meanwhile, Sakashi’s documentary is finally released to theaters, and Ash and Misty go to see it - but they are shocked to find that Sakashi has managed to put a negative spin on every bit of footage, turning it into an exposé piece that portrays Ash as a horrible person. Ash calls Sakashi and demands an explanation, but Sakashi merely states that he had to spice up the footage somehow, because it was too boring otherwise. Around Pallet Town, Pikachu finishes assembling his own documentary, a piece about the inner workings of the town starring many people he knows. Learning of the impending Tokyo Film Festival, Pikachu wants to submit his work, but only humans are eligible. To bypass this restriction, Pikachu sends in his film under the pseudonym “Patrick Ohtani”. When the film festival commences, Pikachu receives word that his film has been chosen to compete. Ash is surprised that Pikachu has actually submitted something, but he plans to take him to the festival for a more important reason - Sakashi will be there, and Ash wants to have a word with him. In Tokyo, Ash approaches Sakashi and demands that he rescind the accusations placed upon him in the documentary, but Sakashi refuses. Later, Pikachu discovers that his documentary has won Independent Film of the Year, but when he goes up to accept his award, the judges are shocked to see that “Patrick Ohtani” is a Pokémon. Pikachu tries to endear the crowd with an impromptu speech, claiming that it’s not his species that matters, but what he had to say in his film. Regardless, the judges take the award away from Pikachu and give it to the second-place winner - Langston Sakashi, for his documentary. Though Pikachu is discouraged, Ash feels less irritated with Sakashi’s portrayal of him, feeling that if it won an award, it can’t be all that bad.

“Divine Secrets of the Blah-Blah Sisterhood”
Episode 9ACP18
Original Airdate: 3/23/12

Forced to take Togetic out to dinner with them one night, Ash and Misty worry that she will cause a scene and warn her not to act the slightest bit anti-authoritarian. Togetic agrees to sit at the table and do nothing. However, halfway through the evening, Togetic suddenly begins fidgeting. The fidgeting soon escalates into a fit of yammering almost incoherently and banging off of walls. Mortified, Misty pulls Togetic outside and reprimands her severely, but Togetic claims that she had no control over what just happened. As it turns out, Togetic is about to turn 20, and the laws of nature are wreaking havoc with her mind. Ash learns from Professor Oak that every Togepi and Togetic, upon the 20th year of their life, must return to their birthplace to breed. This means that Togetic has to return to Grandpa Canyon, where Ash first found her as a Togepi egg two decades ago. Ash, Misty, and Pikachu agree to escort Togetic back to her birthplace, and they set off across the Kanto region. Upon arriving at the canyon, Togetic wanders around, trying to find the exact spot where she was born. Meanwhile, Ash lets his Pokémon out to stretch, but Charizard is immediately fixated on a familiar figure on a rock ledge - the Aerodactyl he fought 20 years ago upon his evolution. Remembering the event, Aerodactyl demands a rematch, and Charizard willingly accepts. Elsewhere, Misty and Togetic finally find what they’ve been looking for - Togetic’s original nest. To both their surprise, Togetic’s family still lives there. Togetic’s mother is ecstatic to see her daughter again, but she looks at Misty with derision upon finding out that it was she who her daughter has been in the custody of all these years. Togetic, however, has more important concerns - she must find a mate before her breeding period ends. Meanwhile, Ash agrees to referee the rematch between Charizard and Aerodactyl, but the fight soon escalates to one of gargantuan proportions as the two Pokémon soar all over the canyon, blasting Fire Spins and Hyper Beams back and forth at each other. Worried, Ash and Pikachu run off to try and calm down the two Pokémon before they do any serious damage. At the breeding grounds, Togetic’s family has found her a male Togetic with which she can mate. Misty is eager to get the process over with, but Togetic’s mother vehemently states that after the breeding is over, her daughter is going to remain in the canyon. Togetic’s mother wants to raise her daughter properly instead of driving her to cynicism like Misty did. However, Togetic hasn’t been consulted on this, and she claims that she’s gotten used to life indoors. Before mother and daughter can argue any further, Charizard and Aerodactyl’s battle takes them to the breeding grounds, and the multitude of Togetic take cover. However, one of the Togepi eggs among the many nests hatches, and the Togepi that emerges emits a Sing attack that renders both Charizard and Aerodactyl too drowsy to fight. With both Pokémon fast asleep again, Ash calls a draw and prepares to leave with Misty and Pikachu. Togetic agrees to come with them, claiming that now that she’s gotten to know her family, she wants nothing to do with them - including their breeding rituals. Misty is glad that Togetic has chosen to remain with her, but Togetic maintains that she’s doing this purely for the living arrangements.

“The Last of the Magma-hicans”
Episode 9ACP19
Original Airdate: 4/6/12
Guest Voice: Hank Azaria as Ditto

After her latest boyfriend dumps her, May begins to grow paranoid about ever finding romance. When this paranoia begins to take its toll on her everyday life, Max suggests that May should see a therapist. She finds solace in the office of relationship therapist William Umemiya, who analyzes May’s previous relationships and deduces that May is looking for love for the wrong reason. She feels pressured by the relationship that Ash and Misty share, and somehow feels compelled to prove that she can be just as good as them. Umemiya reassures May that love is not a competition, and it doesn’t matter how long it takes for her to find someone - she’s in her late 20s, and she has plenty of time left. Reassured, May takes a new approach to dating. She casually strikes up conversations with men instead of coming across as too desperate. Before long, she meets a man named Brody, who keeps his distance from everybody else. May has the strangest feeling of deja vu upon meeting Brody, but she can’t figure out why and simply shrugs it off. Though Brody is somewhat conservative in his mannerisms, he finds that he can talk comfortably with May. The two agree to see each other again sometime. May also meets Brody’s signature Pokémon, a narrow-faced and wisecracking little Ditto. May’s sense of deja vu begins increasing again, but neither Max nor Umemiya can help her figure out why. When May invites Brody over to her apartment, the two end up making out on the couch, but after Brody leaves, May notices that something is missing - her ribbon case has mysteriously disappeared from the mantle. When Max hears of this, he suspects that Brody may have taken it. May thinks it’s a ridiculous accusation, but the idea begins nagging at her. She visits Brody’s apartment again to take a look, but he isn’t home. Finding the door open, May looks around the apartment for her ribbon case. But upon opening the closet, she makes a startling discovery of another kind - Brody has a Team Magma uniform tucked away in the back. This jogs her memory, and she remembers where she’s seen Brody before - he was the Magma agent who terrorized the Hoenn Weather Institute and disrupted the proceedings of the 2006 Grand Festival. No sooner does May have this revelation than she finds Ditto standing behind her, ready to attack. May swiftly sends out her Blaziken, but Ditto quickly Transforms and the two Pokémon fight, destroying much of Brody’s apartment. When Brody comes home, he discovers that May has found out his true identity and plans to kill her before she can alert the police, but one kick to the head from Blaziken renders him unconscious. May spots her ribbon case in Brody’s pocket and takes it back, then calls the police. Back on Umemiya’s couch, May correctly assumes that she’s going to need much more therapy before she can find a man.
