.:: Brief History ::.​

KD was released at PokéCommunity in November 2005, and lasted to May 2006. There were 105 Comics, 99 of them with 6 panels, the rest with 9 panels in them. It was PC's answer to Beco's The Pokémon Journey and Anton's Pokémon Supreme.

Style changed over the months, ranging from character changes and such. With better spriting skills and boredom at hand, I decided to resurrect KD here, PokéCommunity and PE2K.


.::Back Story::.​

Jay Spencer-Black (Renamed Jay Black for the newer comics) lived in Pallet Town, Kanto Region and left from there for his journey, getting his starter after rescuing it from Rocket Syndicate.

Rocket Syndicate are about the 5th reincartion of the once famous Team Rocket, using Shadow Pokémon as their weapons. Jay's starter was a Shadow Pokémon, but was purified to be used by him.

Along the way, Jay made friends with Angel May, an amateur con artist and trainer, Cyrus Mackenzie, a skilled trainer with a slight moron steak, Elektra King, a "nice" rich girl, and Sammy Finnagan, a coordinator that lived in Viridian Forest.

RS was taken down when their benefactors, the Shade Syndicate, had enough of Rocket's plans, instead opting to become their own team... an eviler team.

Yay, first post.

Okay, let's start CC'ing this comic.

The main character, Jay Black, seems to be FR/LG's rival sprite with a few minor edits, I know that edits are the one of the steps to custom-made sprites. (My newest sprites are all custom made, no edits anymore... I noticed that the blond girl is more of a custom made sprite, and I like that one.

The story: I like it, it's original, and it' starts right away, no 20 episode long introduction. There's bound to be some action, and probably an explosion before the first 10 episodes are over, you get bonus points for that one :p Also, although the kid starts in Pallet Town, you don't see any of that, you kept out the boring "I choose Uberdude" part out, that's good to.

When I see this I see a comic with lots of potential, I'll keep following this one. Good luck.

Thanks for reading. With Jay's sprite, I wanted to keep as close to the original as possible, and may edit it fully in the future.

I'm glad you like the originality and the whole introduction thing, which I already did with the original comic...

Well the plot is original which is always good and always makes a good comic.
The speech bubbles are nicely done and the custom sprites are also nicely done because custom character OW sprites can turn into a mess if your not good at making them but you clearly are.
Also there probably is no need for me to say this but you did the intro comics well normally there's no need for them especially if they are just stuff like "This is Bob he is 13 and has a totodile" or "Hi I'm Jim I'm a pokemon trainer I have a Charizard." You made your intro comics very interesting with it being set with the news.

Hmm... let give this comic a brife rating

Plot: seams very original. I like the way you did the intro comic, and the fact its not about s start of a journey. 8.5/10
Speech: Good, clean, and orgenized speech buubles. 5/5
Charcter Spiriting: That jay guy, as Beco (*hails*) said, seams to be a minorly edited LG/FR rival. The rest of the main charcters look fine. the gym leader and the reporters look very good. 6.5/10
Battles: No rating. No battle yet. ??/10

Overall: It look like this comic is bound to be from the best ones of SPPF! I'm wating for some more of it! 8.5/10 (may raise(or lower) when i see some action)

@ Flembo: Thanks for reading. I tried to make my intro comics as exciting as I could, so it's good to know that someone thinks they are exciting and all.

@ MaplePhanphy: Plot starts off original and all, but the comic is still a journey comic at heart, and that's were it will go soon... Thanks for the 8.5/10, I can tell that's a pretty good score to have.

To all that have read it so far: Do not be afraid to post a reply, because the more I get, the more comics you will get to enjoy...

I like it its got cliffhagers that I like and that black ball is cool and a nucular explosion that would have been great but too serious I suppose.

@ Beco: Probably wont be another explosion for a while, but keep the explosion count at the ready, and Jay Black has two more (Revealed a little later - when we get into actually Pokemon battling)

Very Nice comic you made. I like that you skipped the boring beggining with "I pick Charmander, lets have a rival battle now" part. Very nice introduction with the news reporters it was odd but in an interesting way.

Beware...
So that's where shadow Pokémon come from, this should make it a bit easier to destroy them, since they're not the real thing, just copies.
Anyway, the vortex thing looks good, and the rest of the episode's good as well.
Can't wait for the next part.
