Welcome one and all to the Pokémon Masterclass Tournament! This tournament ideally will pit the best of the best against each other to determine who rules the roost. Sixty-four people will be competing for the crown but there can only be one winner!
How will this go down?
After we receive sixty-four signups, the first round will commence. Each round will last a week but the first round will be divided into a four and three day period.
There will be 3 matches in the quarter-finals. If one person wins their Bo3 2-0 and the others don't, that person will receive a bye into the final. If this doesn't happen, the highest total score of the 2 wins combined will determine the bye. If this still is a tie, the one that lost by the least will determine the bye. If still a tie, a coin toss will be used.
If an opponent is inactive for the four days after Round One begins, they will be subbed out and the round will continue as normal for the remaining three days.
What rules will be in place?
*Matches will take place on Pokemon Showdown.
*This tournament will be played with the 6th generation XY OU tier. Should a ban take place mid-round, the round will finish with the rules it started with, and the following will use the updated ban list.
*All matches will be conducted in Singles format.
*Matches will be best of 3.
*There will be no Uber Pokemon used in this tournament.
*All Standard Rules are in effect.
*When filling out the application, you must list ONE registered PS name that you must use for the ENTIRE tournament.

That's right, the fun doesn't end with the battling! A unique feature of the Pokemon Masterclass Tournament is that we will reward you for making predictions on the outcome of the matches!
How it works
After expressing interest in spectating, once each Round's matchups are released, you PM Bestgamepearl with your predictions (score is optional). If you get 60% correct or higher, you move onto the next round and repeat the processes for Rounds Two, Three and so forth. If you post predictions after a battle has been completed, you will not get credit for the battle regardless of if your prediction was correct. Get them in quickly.
The last better standing will be the winner. If at some point everyone has below 60% correctness prior to the semi-final, then betting will end and there will be no winner. For the quarter-finals, contestants must get 2 of the 3 matches correct. For the semi-final, contestants will guess the winner of the matchup and, if correct, move on to the final. For the final, each remaining contestant must pick their winner and provide scores. If someone previously submitted the same predictions, you will be asked to change your score and/or winner. Ideally, the winner will guess both the correct winner and be as close to the correct score as possible. The winner will receive a celebratory userbar as well.

Q: My opponent is inactive? What do I do to avoid disqualification?
A: If you have PM'd your opponent and they do not respond, mark your activity by PMing/VMing me and/or posting on this thread so we can see you are the more active of the two. It is advised that you communicate through VM's so your activity can be measured unless you are unable to.
Q: May I participate in betting if I'm in the tournament?
A: Yes, you may participate in betting if you are in the tournament.
Q: I'm going to be away for the first few days of Round One. What can I do to avoid being subbed out?
A: Not sign up.
