Pokémon Nickname Discussion Thread

My teams nicknames are as follows:

Poseidon the Samurott
Aphrodite the Whimsicott
Athena the Fraxure
Arachne the Galavantula
Ares the Exadrill
Hermes the Archeops
I named my team these names because I'm taking a mythology class in college and thought that would be cool. Not so cool that 4 of them start with A XD

I still need suggestions for my female Zebstrika's new nickname. For those of you who don't remember, it used to be Shina, but then I found out that's apparently racist (God damn it, Google). It should have something to do with thunder, lightning, or light in gemeral, but I really want it to be unique at the same time.

Ok, I totally spent a whole... 2 seconds looking this up... so you'd better be grateful! lol

Here are some names:

-Levina- It means lightning bolt
-Alaula- It means sunset glow
-Elaine or Elena- Shining light
-Meallan- Little lightning
-Raiden- Thunder and lightning

So? Does any of those suit your fancy? I hope I helped! : )

Aqua is just because it is a Water Type, very simple and soooooo cute
Blaze -> Chandelure
This name is also based on the type, fire, and also his flames
Dusty -> Braviary
This because I like the name AND a bird can whip up dust with it's wings
Shadow -> Hydreigon
Because of it's appearence, the darkness and the shadows
Bugsy -> Leavanny
Because it's a bug and there's a bug gym leader with that name
Psycho -> Reuniclus
Because of it's type, Psychic.
As you can see all the names are based on Types and how the pkmn look.

Samurott - Triton (Greek God)
Watchog - Suri (from Suricata, the name of the species Watchog is based off)
Zebstrika - Bronte (from Bronte and Sterope, the steeds that pulled Helios' chariot; both based off thunder and lightening)
Swanna - Odette (main character in Swan Lake)
Haxorus - Kratos (Greek God of War - strength and power)
Chandelure - Apate (Greek Goddess of Trickery, Deception, etc.)

As you can see, I like to nickname after Greek Gods.

I think I like Levina best. I was going to go with Meallan at first, but I looked it up, and apparently, it's a male name. I'm off to rename her! Thank you so much!

I don't have many nicknames for my Pokemon really. I only had one even planned out.

InteriorCA for my Krookodile (means Interior Crocodile Alligator)
Oh, and WTHHAX for my Haxorus.
And lastly, nicknamed my Victini "JapansHope" due to the recent happenings there. (Wishing for only the best for Japan.)

I named Blitzle Belle, because Belle danced with The Beast in Beauty and The Beast, in a Ballroom, there's a song named Ballroom Blitz, Blitz is the first syllable of Blitzle. I named Bweddle, Phoenix, 'cause Phoenix Wright's a hobo in Apollo Justice.

I've never ever nicknamed my pokemon, but this time around, I decided to get somewhat creative.

My Zebstrika I named Ixion (FFX Aeon)
- I thought it was a fitting name to a lightning horse (zebra)

My Victini I named Ifrit (Also FFX Aeon)
- I'm not sure why, but he just reminded me/looked like an Ifrit

My Rufflet had a few selected names, I ended up with Mumble
- I was actually reminded of Hawkmon from Digimon, and also some other Digimon with Braviary, but in the end Mumble (from Happyfeet) seemed suitable, I may change it when it evolves to Braviary

Now some pokemon that I dont use, but nicknamed anyways:

Bouffalant: Taunka
Cofagrigus / female: Nefertiti (original right?)
Golett: Olmec (His Pokedex description made me think of it)
