Pokémon resemblances

I notied in the sugimori art for buuburn, it looks like his arm is hollow, almost like an arm cannon...
I noticed similarities to samus in that arm cannon thing.

Did anyone else notice this?
I was wondering if any other 4th gen pokes look like something else from another franchise.
