Pokémon Sword and Shield - How will they impact the anime?

I really hope Bea or Nessa become traveling companions. They’re good designs. Milo would be ok but I wouldn’t be upset if he wasn’t so picked

I would prefer Bea or Allistar be the traveling companions over Milo or Nessa because not only have we already had specialist for both of those types last generation(gen 7) but we also had specialist for those types on the main cast before being Misty for Water and Cilan for Grass sure those two weren't in the same generation as each other but the point is we've already had Grass and Water be the type of the type specialist on the main cast twice so it would be refreshing to see one of the other types be used instead.

That would be fine because at least their specializing in types that we haven't seen a type specialist on the main cast specialize in before.

Well if we do get a type specialist on the main cast for Sword and Shield at least Bea would be a Fighting type specialist which we haven't had yet, and it would be interesting to see a member of the Hitmon line be on the main cast for once. So far this is how it breaks down in terms of type specialist that have been on the main cast:

Kanto & Johto: Misty(Water)
Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, & Sinnoh: Brock(Rock(although given his goal and what pokemon he caught it didn't seem like he was really a type specialist))
Unova: Cilan(Grass), and Iris(Dragon)
Kalos: Clemont(Electric)
Alola: Kiawe(Fire), Lana(Water), Sophocles(Electric), Mallow(Grass)

So hopefully we don't get another Grass, Water, or Electric type specialist.

I refuse to call Cilan a Grass specialist. He only had one Grass Pokémon (Pansage) and it was never said he had a preference for them. His "goal" didn't had nothing to do with Grass either. Sure, Mallow's goal don't have nothing to do with Grass Pokémon, but she "has" 2 Grass types (She's only taking care of Shaymin) and has a preference for them. On a side note, a Flying or Bug specialist companion would be very cool imo. It could resemble the Bird Keeper/Bug Catcher Trainer Class.

I wouldn’t mind if Bea was the female traveling companion, but there are other gym leaders that have not been revealed yet so they can still reveal another gym leader that could be a companion like Clemont was introduced in Kalos as the 5th gym leader. Either way I think Bea would be a perfect traveling companion out of the gym leaders that were revealed.

Sonia could easily pass as Brock/Cilan's age, just take away the whole thing about being Leon's friend. Saves her from being forced into a romance with him

I think that if Sonia joins the cast, she'd likely have her age decreased and possibly have a slight redesign to make her look younger just so that she'd relate more with Satoshi. With characters like Takeshi and Dent, it didn't really matter that they looked older than Satoshi since they were the sidekick boys and weren't really focused on that much, but the female companions generally have more focus than the male companions, so I just think that the thought of having a much older female in the cast wouldn't really flow well.

I just got an idea for SWSH anime. In the anime all the gym battles will be like max raid battles but with 3 trainers vs a gym leader's dynamaxed pokémon. And if the challengers win. Each of them gets the badge. And for this idea. I'm suggesting Hop & Gloria for travel companions. Definitely not going to happen but sounds cool IMO.

Edit Now that I think of it. It'd make more sense for it to be 4 vs 1. The last companion could be Either Allister or (preferably IMO) Bea. With the other one being the only gym leader in anime like Iris & Drayden in BW

I’m still trying to decide if I see Ash with any of the revealed Pokemon... the only ones I see fitting so far are the starters, Corviknight, Drednaw, and possibly Yamper if it gets a cool evo.

Corviknight would for sure be cool Pokémon for Ash to have. In regards to Drednaw, I wouldn’t mind if Ash gets it along with Sobble, but if he can’t have both then I rather he gets Sobble because he doesn’t have many water types that are starters and also I think Sobble could potentially evolve into a part ghost type so I would like to see him get another chance at getting a ghost type Pokémon this time around

Well to be fair Ash's Rockruff did evolve in episode 37, so if they did actually go the route of having him catch a Yamper with it gaining a 2nd type when it evolves it could potentially evolve before the mid-point, I know that your going to try to argue that oh but Yamper is so cute and popular so they won't want to evolve him, so was Ash's Goomy but yet that didn't stop it from fully evolving into a Goodra within 15 episodes after it was caught and similarly it didn't prevent Ash's Rockruff from evolving in episode 37.

They could easily just have it be a case where the female companion gets a Wooloo or Alcremie and that would hold people over not to mention that the starters tend to take a while to evolve. I'm not saying that it's guaranteed that Ash would be the one to catch it or that it wouldn't take a while to evolve, however that being said if you look at all of Ash's regional teams if you had asked some people if they thought that the pokemon that Ash would have caught said pokemon or that said pokemon would evolve you would have had some people at the time saying no that it wouldn't happened and yet they wound up happening any way.

Asked yourself this regardless of their fate did you really expect that Ash would catch a Ultra Beast and Mythical pokemon back when Sun and Moon first started.

Grookey for Ash and Scorbunny for the female companion is pretty much set.

Depending of the decision to give Ash a second starter, Sobble could also go to Ash. In that case they could easily give it a backstory similiar to Goomy, where Sobble is scared of fighting other Pokemon at first, but develops out of his fear to a point where it slowly becomes one of Ash powerhouses for Galar, maybe even his ace for said region. There's a ton of potential there, so I prefer Sobble to be Ash's Pokemon for the only reason that Ash is the one who battles the most and that may sound sadistic but I want Sobble to encounter as many strong Pokemon in battles he can endure in his "fear phase".

Grookey is also a likely candidat to become Ash's ace. Would be the first Grass starter ace since AG and while Sceptile is already a speedy Pokemon, Grookey could be more of a slow gorilla Pokemon with a similiar battle style as Paul's Electrivire.

Corviknight could also become one of Ash's Pokemon. I can't see why people think it's "too edgy looking". Ash caught similiar edgy Pokemon like Glalie and it worked out. Is it the dark look? The red eyes? Whatever...

Scorbunny for the female protagonist should be obvious. May it be Bea or Gloria. I can see it being a Pokemon for both of them. For Bea because it seems it could end up being a Fire/Fighting and for Gloria because it's the most obvious starter for a girl, is probably the most marketable one of the base stage's, doesn't need to evolve because of that and that could help to write a good human/pokemon bond for a beginner trainer. People call Oshawott, Chespin and Rowlet successor's of Piplup, ergo calling them Piplup 2.0 and onward and while I can agree on that I think Scorbunny could be the true Piplup 2.0. I at least can see the most potential to become exactly that.

Wooloo is one Pokemon they could give Gloria, but if the unrevealed Squirrel Pokemon is a Normal type, then I can see her catching that instead. If not then maybe even both. Her getting Drednaw was weird for me at first, but then I slowly realized that it could end up being similiar to Mamoswine.

I wouldn't say it's pretty much set considering we don't really know who Ash's companions will be nor do we know what the starter evolutions will be or how they will be divided up among the main cast, sure if Ash gets only one of the starters there is chance that it could be Grookey, but there is also a chance it could be Sobble or Scorbunny instead, although I would prefer Sobble.

Really at this point we don't really have enough information to say for sure which starter will go to Ash and which starter would go to the female companion.​

I can't see anything with the TRio as of right now, Indipimp really suits the villainous team more. I mean... they're obviously going to own it.

If impidimp doesnt have an evolution, then it could very well go to tr. If it does, i wouldnt mind it going to tr but only on the condition that it will evolve.

I figure that it would probably be caught by the female traveling companion or the male sidekick perhaps, but I wouldn't want Satoshi to capture one since it's a Normal-type and probably wouldn't really contribute much to the dynamics of Satoshi's team unless it has an evolved form that's dual typed.
