Would you guys tolerate a 3D animation style if they want back to the old formula and ditched the comedy?

I find it hard to imagine the main anime being animated entirely in CGI, so even if the old style of writing returned, I'd be really apprehensive and I might only tune in to watch a few of the episodes at the beginning of the Galar saga before ceasing to keep up.

The Anime/Special's canon know it all.
Why you guy just ask some one you know actually can translate a Japanese first !?

For me wanting Alistor to become a companion is like wanting Valarie. Their appearances are just too odd... I’m not saying it won’t happen but nah. I’m hoping Nessa is the Pokegirl despite her attire since let’s be real between May’s og appearance (y’all know exactly what I’m talking about) and Serena’s Fennekin outfit; the writers have done worse. I hope they just re design her like Misty or Olivia.

Popped in because a little birdy on Discord asked me to.

I really wished people who do not understand Japanese don't try to parse nonsense from Google Translate and then jump to conclusions. お願いだから、止めてくれよ。

Shinohara Takashi was replying to a fan message sent to him via Marshmallow Q@A. The fan enjoys his work on the show and enjoys the art he shares on Twitter. The fan really enjoyed Sun and Moon and is going to miss the series, so much that they weren't sure if they can accept getting into the next series - they don't think they can live without the Sun and Moon series. Shinohara-san basically tells the fan that it's ultimately their decision whether or not they go into the new series right away, and if they don't like it now, they might like it later. Everyone has their own pace, they don't need to get into a new show immediately if they're still sad about the previous one ending. He also provided suggestions to ease the fan's worries and provide them with SM-related activities to enjoy, like watching the series again from the first episode after finishing the finale, to compare the interesting changes in production and story development to how it all ended. And he assures the fan that even after the finale, he/she can draw pictures about what they think the Alola companions are doing, or write about them, etc. with other fans on Twitter and have fun.

They are not talking about the art style. None of that is brought up. Why would it? Next time, ask someone who can understand Japanese to interpret for you. Stop using machine translations.

EDIT: Also, please do not scream in gaijinese at Japanese animators on social media like this donut. It's super rude, makes foreigners look bad, and is overall not needed. Thank you.

I agree, although I was actually fond of Mache when I first saw her, although not to the extent of wanting her to join the cast since Serena had already been revealed to be Satoshi's main female companion by that point. But I view Yarrow and Rurina as being generic enough in terms of looks to be potential candidates for Satoshi's group, whereas to me Onion just looks too perplexing for that role.

Agreed. I think Valarie could of worked since I think a Fairy type specialist would of been due to show off the new typing. I could see though how that would anger people after just coming from Iris (although it’s not like we got much better in terms of goals).

Also, his rivals don't need to have Galar only Pokemon... they're not like Ash.
They'll still have new pokemon on their team, and as you said, Ash uses almost exclusively new pokemon. Process of elimination, plus less mons in general means the likelihood of overlap is guaranteed.

Valerie's appearance wasn't that odd. You could have a lot of fun with her, given her job as a fashion designer. Different outfit every few episodes(Cause face it, they don't have it in them to do every episode :p ) and perhaps even try designing something for Ash, only for him to refuse as his mother stole made his outfit

If Alistar does end up a companion though, they better get him in a red robe at some point. Otherwise that's just a missed opportunity

It's already outgrossed every Pokémon movie in the past five years. Not sure how it stacks up to anything earlier than that as I got this info off of the front page on Dogasu's site and he only listed back to Hoopa.

Ultra Cringe.

I do not understand what it is with casual audiences and the obsession over live action and 3D.

The trend of remaking 2D movies as CGI and having those movies outgross the originals is revolting. Even if M22 never reaches M01's heights, beating M20 and M21 is still reinforcing a trend.

You are the hero this thread needed, but not the one it deserved.

In terms of male companions, I would prefer Allister anyways because I think that he would be a more unique character. Milo would be too much like Brock and Cilan.

That would be interesting. It could bring some funny interaction moments with Ash, other characters and Pokémon. Not only that, it would also be the first time we see a main travelling character that specializes in Ghost types.

Too lazy to pick a pic
Well, Allister at least would remove the ban for ghost types at the hero gang (maybe finally lifting whatever stops Ash to have a ghost type), but he sures doesn't look like a character that screams "traveling companion".

I'm not quite sure what is so unique about someone who wears a mask to hide their face. I've been thinking about how the writers would portray his character if he were in the cast, and the more I think of it the more awkward it feels since animating a character who doesn't show his face would result in problems for the animators since it would be hard for them to show Onion expressing himself.

I think that Allister is unique because he's shy, hides his face, and specializes in Ghost-types. I think that he would be completely different from any other past companion. Also, purple eyes can occasionally be seen in the mask's eye holes, so there is a way to make Allister express himself.

The first news for SM anime in september 12th and the first news for XY anime were around 9th, so we might have less than a month till we have some news regarding SwSH anime right?

I think it all depends on when CoroCoro leaks, as usually the first announcement of the new anime comes from there. Early next month is a likely time for it to leak, so we should be getting an announcement in less than a month, like you said.

I do hope the success of the Mewtwo remake gives them enough reason to continue with the AU started with M20 for the Gen 8 films.

I'm hoping it doesn't just encourage them to continue with the remake trend. I'm all for the AU thing, just no remakes please. And I feel one movie per generation at least should star the current cast. The Alola gang might have been too big for that to be feasible.
