Pokémon Sword & Shield Team Discussion Thread

My team that I'm planning to run is currently looking like this(I'm not sure which version I'm going to get though):

Intelleon(Water)
Corviknight(Flying/Steel)
Colossal(Rock/Fire)
Toxcicity(Poison/Electric)
Frosmoth(Ice/Bug)
Grapploc(Fighting)
Dragapult(Dragon/Ghost)

It's possible that as I'm playing and more time passes that some other pokemon might grow on me more then I expect and I wound up using them but for now I think this team is good.

This took a lot of thought. I think this will be my team. I cannot see it being competitive with no Fire, Water, or Ground types. Too many overlapping types. I may just not play competitively.

Sword

Lucario
Aegislash
Hatterene
Runegrigis
Toxtricity
Galvantula

Seriously considering Chandelure, G-Rapidash, Duraladon, Gardevoir, Hawlucha.

May have to swap out Toxtricity, either Ghost. Lucario is a lock, and I'll only drop Hatterene if its just baaaaad. Too many Psychic Fairies in the running to waste my time with one that's not viable.

I've got three teams planned out already. One for each starter.

Rillaboom - Grass
Corviknight - Flying/Steel
Coalossal - Rock/Fire
Galarian Rapidash - Psychic/Fairy
Thievul - Dark
Toxtricity - Poison/Electric

Intelleon - Water
Orbeetle - Bug/Psychic
Runerigus - Ghost/Ground
Galarian Weezing - Poison/Fairy
Purrserker - Steel
Greedunt - Normal

Cinderace - Fire
Grimmsnarl - Dark/Fairy
Cramorant - Water/Flying
Cursola - Ghost
Stonjouner - Rock/?
Flapple/Appletun - Grass/Dragon - Going to depend on which version I decide to play this team in, though I kind of prefer Appletun.

There were a lot of designs I liked that came from the leaks so I'm definitely going to have to plan some other teams.

Now that leaks for the Dex are done, I can start to team build. Hopefully they reveal movesets too because I like my Pokemon to have varied movepools that don't repeat types.
My team is in my signature, what do you guys think? I know it's not balanced but who cares if they're adorable.
Very nice team! The lighter color scheme fits a lot.

Any version exclusives that may lean you towards a specific game?

Hmm, maybe it will come down to which mascot legendary I wind up liking better, and if
Frosmoth and Centiscorch
wind up being version exclusives.

Understandable.

As of rn, which of the two legends do you prefer?

D*N

Musical Star
Cramorant
Hatterene
Flapple/Appletun
Frosmoth
Copperjah/ Corviknight
Dubwool/polteageist

First four are a lock. Not sure yet on the flapple/appletun one because both are awesome and they might be version exclusive, so I might just go with the one that's in the version I get. Based on the first four I realised I needed a steel type for coverage (mainly because the fire, ground and fighting types don't appeal to me at all this gen), so either copperjah or corviknight. Last one is the wild card, might just use dubwool for the early game and replace it with the one that's last available in the game from this team.

Also yes I'm ditching the starter. Cramorant and the Appledragons are waaaaay better imo than the water and grass starter options, and the fire one is really ugly.

PrinceOfFacade

Ghost-Type Master
So I see now my team is going to become a lot more Ghost-themed (naturally), due to ??? being in the game.

I never use old pokémon in new generation games, but I am thinking about using the Solosis line. I had Black and White 2 and while Reuniclus is one of my favourite designs I didn't use it in Black becouse it was White exclusive and dont remember if I used it in White 2. Also it looks even better in 3D.

After the leak thread, I've decided that this is my Shield Team for my first play of it. Still with all 8th Gen 'mons like standard for me:
Cinderace
Corviknight
Eldegloss
Boltund
Drednaw
Frosmoth
Still got my usual types for my first ingame team (Fire/Water/Grass triangle, one electric, one flying) + one wildcard being the 6th slot.

Standby Pokemon:
Grimmsnarl
Appletun
Toxtricity
Copperajah
Dragapult
Hatterene
Galarian Rapidash
Depending on when these are caught ingame I'll likely use them to replace one in my slots. (I haven't seen any route spoilers on where one can find what yet) Most fall into the Wildcard slot.

My character for this game is Violet. Her family have always lived in the Galar region as farmers.

She is a grass specialist, with only crop Pokémon on her team.

1.) Budew
2.) Gossifleur
3.) Pumpkaboo
4.) Cherubi
5.)Applin
6.) Bounsweet
