Pokémon TCG Pocket Discussion Thread

So, I noticed there was no thread for this mobile game, so I decided to make one.

After all these years, I never thought I'd be doing anything with the TCG, but I'm actually digging this app! It's much more streamlined and easier to play than the physical card game, although the priority of pokemon over trainer cards makes it hard to assemble a good deck.

Nonetheless, I'm enjoy the app so far. Feel free to discuss your time with it!

I have a great time with TCG Pocket. I managed to get a Mew card from the mythical island boosters (which I think is my favorite set.) I still play TCG Live but I appreciate that I can just load up pocket when I'm not at home and play a few quick matches. I liked the Rayquaza themed promos they just released.

I've been struggling to get good Trainer cards, especially the capes.

This morning I actually got enough points to buy a Trainer card, and I bought the wrong one. lol

That's so cool! I love the ultra beasts in general (my favorite is poipole.)

This Solgaleo event is sort of a bummer. It's not exactly easy to collect certain cards through the Wonder Pick thingy, and the event only lasts for five days.

I'm terrible at Wonder Pick too but I'm gonna try my best. Worst comes to worse I've got lots of hourglasses and can open regular packs to get the metal cards for the quest. Still enjoying the game very much!

Love this app! Considering its impossible to get actual physical packs for the average person, its a nice alternative. I was very happy that they released the Lugia and Ho-oh pack since I'm mainly a gen1-4 player (played a bit of 5). The new Lugia art that they had to redo looks atrocious. I don't think it was even part of the plagiarism fiasco so I don't know why it had to be nuked.

Game is simple enough to play as well! Don't think I'll play much anymore, almost level 50. I also know as more cards come out the game will get more competitive.

The good thing about TCG Pocket, in terms of competitive, is that the meta is very easy to predict. Most players tend to flock towards the easiest methods of victory, so all we need to do is counter that method.

It's a great app. I particularly like the solo battles such as the blissey ex event they have going on now. And the cards are so pretty I just got the shiny pachirisu ex from the sky and sea expansion.

We are going to be moving soon and the nicest part is I can play even when not at home, in quicker matches than tcg live.

I didn't even know TCG Online closed back in 2023, but I do wonder how TCG Pocket compares to it (I can't create threads so I'm responding here).

I've never played TCG Online, myself, but I will say that TCG Pocket is pretty much a streamlined version of the trading card game.
