Oliver had made it to the finals and according to the board, he'd be facing one of Zach's friends, Nick. They both made their way to the stage and sent out a Pokemon, with Monferno coming from Nick's side and Luxio coming from Oliver. "Luxio, let's try a Thunder Fang," Oliver started. His lion began running towards the flaming monkey and he gathered electricity on his fangs.

"Monferno, keep it back with Mach Punch," Nick called. His Monferno jumped into the air and began to spin, gaining momentum as it fell towards Luxio, his fist flashing duplicates as he accelerated towards his opponent. The two attacks collided and caused an explosion, costing both trainers a great deal of point. It didn't phase either too much, though. With a flick of his wrist, Nick ordered a Flame Wheel. The fire on Monferno's tail lit up and engulfed his body as he began to roll towards Luxio.

"Luxio, counter with Iron Tail!" His tail was covered in a coat of iron as he slammed it into the rolling wheel of fire, knocking him back into a wall. "Now hit it with a Discharge!" Slamming his paw into the ground, Luxio gathered a storming cackle of electricity on his fur and released the blue shock of energy that sent Monferno flying into another wall, effectively knocking him out and putting him through to the final! He was on a roll!

Walking over to Nick, the two shook hands and turned to the board and found out Talia was up next. Oliver wished her luck and headed backstage, still wondering where Bridget could be.

Zach & Caroline's Tag Battle for Food!

(It's been a while since I posted! I made an edit in my recent Discussion Thread Post about a particular restaurant.

While hugging Zach during the contest, a thought occured to Caroline.

"Zach! I just remembered that a seven star restaurant is at Valor Lakefront!" Caroline said as she stopped hugging her boyfriend.

Zach turned to look at her dumbfounded because they couldn't afford to eat there! "We obviously can't afford to eat there!" Zach yelled, before being told to quiet down.

Caroline shook her head no. "No. You see, we battle the hosts in a double battle and if we win, we can eat there!"

A smile lit up on Zach's face as he grabbed his girlfriend's hand and raced out of the contest hall. Zach & Caroline forgot to see if Nick managed to beat Oliver, although they both assumed Oliver would easily beat Nick!

"So, this is it?" Zach asked his girlfriend as Zach put his hands in his jeans pockets.

The two were in front of a big facility in the Valor Lakefront with seven golden stars embroidered on the top in a circular fashion. A fancy golden seven was put in the of the stars to make it look like a high-class restaurant, which it is.

Caroline nodded at Zach's question. "Yes. Oh, one thing. Not to sound rude, but this is a high-class restaurant, so it might be nice for you to take your hands out of your jeans pockets!"

Zach sighed as he took his hands out of his pockets and then the two were ready to enter.

Based on Caroline's description of the facility, neither of them were surprised to see a huge battle field in a huge room when they entered. Several doors were placed on the perimeter, leading to different rooms.

"Hello." A calm and serene voice started as a man in a white suit appeared. Next to him was a girl with a white dress and a white hat with a pink lining gong just above the brim of the hat.

"I am Roman. And this young lady-she's my fiancé, Kylie. Do you young people wish to challenge us?" Roman asked in a friendly gesture of kindness.

Caroline clasped her hands together. "That is SO cute that soon you two will be married. Yes, my boyfriend and I wish to challenge you two." Zach just nodded, slightly embarrassed with what Caroline said.

"Aw! Hopefully you two will get married! Roman and I will be husband and wife soon!" Kylie responded, staring at Zach.

"Very well." Roman said, cutting in. "Let the battle begin! Snorlax, go!" Roman yelled, throwing a Poké Ball into the air, revealing a gargantuan Pokémon which was very big and looked heavy.

Kylie, Zach & Caroline nodded as they brought in Munchlax, Piplup & Monferno respectively.

"Monferno, use Mach Punch on Munchlax!" Caroline started off the match, pointing at Munchlax.

"Snorlax, protect Munchlax with Protect!" Roman shouted, winking at his fiance as a green sphere shrouded Snorlax who was in front of Munchlax. Monferno skidded backwards.

"Piplup, Bubblebeam!" Zach said, ready to hit Snorlax.

"Snorlax, let's hit them with Hyper Beam!" Roman countered.

Piplup shot Bubblebeam from behind Monferno who ducked out of the way. Snorlax fires an orangeish beam at the Bubblebeam completing diminishing Piplup's attack and now Hyper Beam was going to hit Piplup! Caroline & Monferno gasped.

"Bubblebeam on the ground and then use Bubblebeam on Munchlax!" Zach smirked as Piplup shot a barrage of bubbles at the ground, shooting Piplup into the air. Another barrage of bubbles shot at Munchlax.

"Snorlax, use-! No! Snorlax can't move because of Hyper Beam!" Roman screamed.

"YES! Monferno, Mach Punch on Snorlax!" Caroline screamed, ready for her meal.

"Help Monferno out with Peck to react the Golden Spinning Mach Peck!!" Zach screamed, punching the air.

Monferno carried Piplup in her right hand as she spun and used Mach Punch in her left hand. Piplup used Peck to make it all look golden as the attack pelted against Snorlax who knocked into the weakened Munchlax, knocking them both out!

"YEAH!" Zach & Caroline screamed as they kissed each other on the lips.

"Very well. Our restaurant also has a bedroom service which you guys earned. Go the room on the left and good luck with your relationship." Kylie explained, winking at Zach.

The two nodded and now their relationship is even tighter as everyone recalled their Pokémon and Zach & Caroline prepared for their second dinner date!!

As Oliver wished her good luck for her battle round, Talia stepped out onto the stage, her opponent being a girl named Elly. The lights bounced off the sparkling rhinestones in Elly's dress as the MC began to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the next battle of the semi-final battle round. Back on the stage are Talia and Elly. These two girls will be battling for a spot in our coveted finals in a five minute battle. Whoever has the least amount of points or no points at all when the buzzer rings will be the winner. Let the battle begin!"

"Peter, centre stage!" Talia chanted as she released her Spinda. As customary, he wobbled on the stage, teetering and spinning as they waited for Elly to release her Pokemon.

"Buneary, you're up!" Elly replied. Her Pokemon was one that Talia was quite familiar with, it being native to the Sinnoh region. The small brown and cream coloured rabbit hopped and shifted on its feet as the clock began counting down.

"Peter, start things off with Psybeam!" Talia ordered.

"Counter that with Charge Beam," Elly replied. Both beams of psychic and electric energy met in the middle of the field, setting off quite a plume of smoke. Talia was momentarily panicked but then realized it could greatly be used to her advantage.

"Peter, use Faint Attack and then Tackle," she ordered. The smoke was thick, making the outlines of the Pokemon hard to see. As Peter faded away Talia smiled. This could be easier than anticipated.

"Buneary, use Swift and try and clear away some of the smoke." A flurry of stars volleyed through the smoke, slashing through the clouds and splaying out randomly. The attack cost Elly a minimal five percent points added to the ten percent that had been taken from both girls due to their explosive opening attacks.

Suddenly, there came a cry from within the smoke as Peter reappeared and smashed into Buneary from behind, sending them skidding across the stage. Peter was quick to get back on his feet as he tackled the scrambling rabbit-like Pokemon, the two struggling on the floor.

"Buneary, Ice Punch!" Elly cried. Both she and Talia had noticed how it had dropped Elly's points down by another forty percent leaving her with less than half of her points so early on in the match. There was still a full three minutes left.

The sound of ice connecting solidly with a body was heard from inside the smoke as Talia's points dropped from a successful hit on Peter. Still, she was feeling confident about the match. "Peter, use Psybeam! Let's try and finish this quickly." The rainbow beam of psychic energy could be seen briefly as the smoke finally began to clear due to the ceiling fans and Elly's Buneary was caught off guard. It was starting to look tired, and with only thirty-five percent of her points left Talia could see it was a matter of whether it fainted, its points ran out or the clock ran down. Unless Elly could pull together a strategy at the last minute, the round was going to go to Talia.

"Buneary, use Swift and then Jump Kick!" Elly called out. The stars that had previously been used in an attempt to clear the smoke battered Peter as he tried to escape their wrath, only to be knocked to the ground from a kick to the head by Elly's Buneary. However, Talia knew from experience that a close range Psybeam could most definitely close the deal on a battle round.

"Psybeam, Peter!" the skater called. As expected, the psychic attack from so close sent Elly's Buneary soaring into the air before landing in a heap at its trainer's feet, totally exhausted. With a minute and thirty seconds left on the clock, Talia had clearly won the round.

"Buneary is unable to battle. The person continuing on to the finals will be Talia!" The MC exclaimed. Applause from the stands erupted throughout the contest hall as both girls returned their Pokemon to their Poke Balls and met at the middle of the stage to shake hands.

"Congrats," Elly said briefly.

"Thanks. That was a good battle," Talia replied, though both girls knew it was a little uneven from the get go. As both girls exited the stage, Talia contemplated her strategy for the finals. She would be battling Oliver and the only Pokemon she had left that wasn't exhausted from a battle of sorts was her Kirlia.

Oliver watched Talia's match attentively, observing her strategy and how she battled. As far as he could remember, he had never battled her. After a long battle, Talia won by knock-out early in the round. She seemed tough, and even posed a threat. Oliver sighed, hoping he hadn't made it this far to lose. When they announced the intermission before the final round, he stepped outside and took in some fresh air. He called out all four of his Pokemon, trying to decide which to use. Luxio had battle in the past two rounds so he'd sit out. The Spinda of hers could pose a challenge for Monferno, so he'd sit out as well. It all come down to Gligar and Buizel, now.

They announced that the finals were beginning so he re-called everyone and left the three he had decided would sit out backstage and ran into the arena, whistling as everyone cheered. He tossed a Pokeball into the air and it opened, releasing a stream of confetti that exploded into bursts of sparkling dust. When it cleared, his Buizel stood tall and proud, hovering in the air with his tails spinning violently. He was pumped for battle, and so was his trainer.

Bridget cheered to herself, smiling at the man in front of her as Porygon floated around her with a large grin. "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pay in battles," she exclaimed. She was at a restaurant, and a very expensive one at that. She had just beaten a waiter in a double battle after spending quite a while there. She felt bad about not telling Oliver where she had gone but she wanted the dinner to be a surprise. She sent him a message from her Poketch to his and saw Zach and Caroline entering the restaurant as well. She smiled as they were offered a battle as well and she began to watch from her reserved table.

Zach & Caroline entered a huge dining area and made their way to their reserved table. Caroline thought she saw a glimpse of Bridget earlier and figured that the contest was going to be over soon.

Caroline took her order as a nice salad, whereas Zach ordered a steak, like last time, except not as big as the one in Hearthome City.

"So, Fantina's next, huh?" Caroline asked Zach as they waited for their food to arrive which will be soon.

"Yeah." Zach said after he took a sip from his water. A few water droplets dripped onto Zach's jeans, but he didn't care since it was barely anything. "It will probably be four on four, so I'll use Staravia, Magmar, Electabuzz & Roselia.

Caroline nodded and smiled. She really wanted her to win the Sinnoh Grand Festival and Zach to win the Sinnoh League! After that, the food arrived and the two indulged themselves in seven star restaurant style food.

After their dinner, which Roman & Kylie stated is for free, Zach & Caroline made their way to a different part of the restaurant where there were plenty of bedrooms. Zach & Caroline entered one of the bedrooms and were starstruck at what they saw!

The room was huge with three bedrooms, so Zach & Caroline have their own bed and one for their Pokémon!!

Zach & Caroline brought out their Pokémon, 10 in total, whom quickly went to sleep. Staravia perched herself on a chair, Magmar slept on the chair, Electabuzz slept on the floor and everyone else made room on the bed.

"Are you sure you want to sleep on the floor, Electabuzz?" Zach asked his Pokémon and if Magmar was OK too. The two symbolic Pokémon nodded and then went back to sleep.

Zach took his shirt off & shoes and went to sleep. He was going to be too hot with his shirt and jeans on, so he just slept in jeans.

"Zach!" Caroline yelled, waking her boyfriend up. "Isn't sleeping in jeans too uncomfortable?" Zach shook his head in disagreement since he loves to wear jeans that their are the only comfortable pants for him. Caroline sighed and changed into pink pajamas in the bathroom.

Caroline kissed her boyfriend on the lips good night. She quickly fell asleep and hoped her next dream would be about her wedding with Zach in seven years!

After a quick two minute break to regroup, Talia stepped out onto the stage, opposite to Oliver. She smiled encouragingly at him as the MC began to speak.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the final round of the Great Marsh Super Contest!" she chirped. The crowd cheered and applauded as the MC plowed on. "On the stage before you are ten-year-old Talia David and eleven-year-old Oliver Richmond battling it out for this coveted ribbon." A ribbon flashed across the screen that was normally used for points and time and the crowd cheered even louder. "Like the other battle rounds, this will be a five minute battle. The person with the most points left over or who knocks the opponents Pokemon out by the end of the time limit will be declared the winner. Battle begin!"

The roar of the crowd was deafening as Oliver released his Buizel, who hovered in the air due to the strength of its rapidly spinning tails.

"Kirlia, centre stage!" Talia shouted, releasing a Pokemon she most commonly used in the appeal rounds. "Start things off with Double Team!" Immediately, the Emotion Pokemon split itself, copies fanning out over the stage.

"Buizel, Water Pulse!" Oliver barked back. Though slightly unnerved by the sudden number of opponents on the stage, Buizel screwed up his face in determination, forming a ball of water between his palms. As he threw it, he put an expert spin on it, sending it hurtling down the line of Kirlia's. Talia only just managed to get her Pokemon out of the line of fire so that her point drop was only a small five percent.

"Kirlia, use Psychic!" the skater roared back. She knew that as Oliver was a trainer he certainly had more experience than her in the line of battling, which infuriated her, really. She had not come this far just to be beat out by a trainer.

Luckily, her Pokemon was quite in tune with her feelings. The rage that seemed to course through Talia's veins was relayed through the power in Kirlia's attack. It blasted Oliver's Buizel out of the air and skidding across the stage, dropping his points by twenty percent.

"Follow up with Confusion," Talia added.

"Aqua Jet, and hurry!" Oliver replied. He knew battling psychic Pokemon were sketchy, they were incredibly powerful but he knew that the majority of their attacks were long range. If he could go for the attacks that struck hard and fast, he might still have a chance to win the contest.

Psychic energy blasted into a wall of water as Oliver's Buizel crashed into Talia's Kirlia, the two disappearing in a wall of water. The only thing Talia could think of shouting was for her Pokemon to move, and as soon as the words left her mouth she knew it was a stupid command. Of course it would be common sense to move.

Still, she seemed to have a way with twisting words, for on the other side of the stage, close to Oliver, her Kirlia appeared, blinking into existence from a teleportation. True, her points had dropped twenty percent, but Talia could just feel in the pit of her stomach that this match was hers.

"Psychic," she called out. "And then use Double Team!" It was an odd combination of the moves as many people would have used it the other way around, but Talia had the art of battling on the fly down to a wire.

"Blast through with Water Pulse and then Brick Break," Oliver replied. His Pokemon fired another sphere of water that lessened the damage he took from Kirlia's Psychic attack but even without looking Oliver knew he had dropped ten percent more. He was too focused on the fact that a Kirlia had just blinked out of existence leaving five remaining.

His Buizel, though equally confused, took it all in stride. Following up on his trainer's commands, he charged forward with a Brick Break attack ready to go, swinging his arm down on the closest Kirlia. It disappeared on contact, proving to be another duplicate and as he spun to his right Talia called, "Confusion!" The water weasel was knocked over backwards as Talia's Kirlia hit it with a second Confusion attack for food measure just as the buzzer rang. Both Talia and Oliver had been so consumed in the battle that they hadn't really paid attention to the timer. Now that they looked at the screen they found that Talia had won the battle simply by having more points at the end of the round.

I won, Talia thought faintly as the crowd cheered around them. She and Oliver met at centre stage to shake hands.

"Congratulations," the boy said to Talia and she smiled.

"Thanks," she replied. "It was a tough battle. My sister's in for a run for her money when she battles against you in the Sinnoh League." Oliver laughed as he exited the stage, leaving Talia to hear some words from the judges.

"What a remarkable battle!" Mr. Sukizo chimed into his microphone.

"Congratulations, Talia," Nurse Joy added. "I'm glad to see that you can really mix it up with your Pokemon; using Grotle for your appeal round was a risky move that proved to have paid off in the end."

"An excellent contest," Mr. Contesta said. "I'm glad to see that even when you appear our of your element, Talia, you can still pull through for a wonderful show. Congratulations."

Smiling jubilantly, Talia released her other Pokemon, each of them helping her to this moment in their own special way. The MC stepped forward and presented Talia with a ribbon; it sparkled in the spotlight and the green, pink and blue would look great next to the green and silver ribbon she won in Solaceon Town. After another minute of waving to the crowd, Talia left the stage to find her sister.

Dahlia munched happily on her gourmet pizza as she watched the next couple coming in from outside. Beside her, her whole team (including Anthony's Pokemon) were eating gourmet Pokemon food. It was certainly clear that everyone was savoring each bite while it lasted. She didn't really care how they won the battle against the duo at the entrance, she was just too hungry to care.

Anthony took a bite of his delicious steak and looked at each of his Pokemon. They seemed to be enjoying everything, but Rampardos seemed to not show any kind of happiness. Rampardos saw him staring at it and it glared. Anthony made a mental note: try to make Rampardos happy. Then he changed the topic he was thinking about - this time it was about Fantina and the fifth badge. He was curious to see what the master Coordinator would do in battle.

Minutes later, Dahlia stood up and said, "Ah! Wasn't that a relaxing meal?"

Anthony said, "And for free, too." He grinned and adjusted his glasses.

"I wonder where we're staying tonight," Dahlia commented. Anthony chuckled and pointed to the huge corridor which seemed to have thousands of bedrooms. The two of them rushed quickly to the reception counter to get a room (but not before battling the pair again.) The two of them let their Pokemon relax in a seperate room while they went to their bedrooms to go to sleep.

The Introduction of the Bertha Tournament!

Zach & Caroline awoke pretty quickly. There was a sign at the Valor Lakefront for a Bertha Tournament at Mr. Backlot's Mansion just west from their present location. Bertha is one of the members of the Sinnoh Elite 4, so she is very strong and very wise.

Zach & Caroline recalled their Pokemon and exited their beautiful room. The two raced out of the awesome restaurant and managed to get to teh route in which Mr. Backlot's Mansion is.

"So, we'll get to meet Bertha of the Elite 4. I can't wait! Hopefully I can make a good impression!" Zach said to Caroline as the two stood a few feet away from Mr. Backlot's Mansion.

Caroline rubbed Zach's arm. "You'll do great. I'll enter the tournament and I'm sure our friends will."

"Well," Zach started. "The first people who register get to pick the other entrants!" Zach then raced to the mansion and opened the doors of the mansion.

In the mansion, it was huge. It was huger than the Seven Stars Restaurant! There were two staircases when you enter. One on the left and one on the right. In the middle of the whole room, an old lady with a scarf and white coat, along with an old man with glasses and a black suit were standing, waiting for challengers for the Bertha Tournament!

Zach & Caroline gave Bertha & Mr. Backlot all the details, so now they waited for Jasmine, Talia, Oliver, Bridget, Anthony & Dahlia to arrive!!

The morning after the contest, Talia was still acting like she was high on sugar. She bounced around the room, making Jasmine's head spin as she watched her sister wave her newest ribbon around.

"And then after Oliver's Buizel Water Pulse..."

It was a constant replay of the final battle round and as Jazzy stuffed clothes into her backpack and clipped Poke Balls to the straps she rolled her eyes. It was sometimes hard to believe she was related to someone so different than her.

"Talia, just please, shut up," Jasmine said as she slung her backpack over her shoulder. Her sister's clothes and belongings were scattered across her half of the room they'd rented in the Pokemon Centre in Pastoria City. "You're not even packed yet. I thought you said you wanted to actually make it into the Bertha Tournament."

Last night, while at a local diner, the two sisters had seen an advertisement for a tournament the following day. It was to be hosted by Bertha, the ground type Elite Four member and held at Mr. Backlot's Trophy Garden on Route 212. Anyone was eligible to enter, and it was perhaps for this reason that Talia had wanted to enter. After her success at the Great Marsh Contest she was obviously running high on confidence.

"Just give me a second," the blonde whined, throwing her dresses into her bag before shrugging on her black blazer. Jasmine had to admit, it looked quite good with the purple sun dress her sister was wearing; dressing it up a bit more (although her brightly patterned messenger bag was a little off-setting). Compared to Jazzy's hoodie and jeans and slipper-like shoes, Talia was definitely the prettier one.

"Hurry up then," the brunette said, pushing her fashion woes to the side. They had a tournament to make.

Mr. Backlot's mansion was definitely not hard to miss. The two sisters were greeted by beautifully plumed bird Pokemon and the sound of fountains as they strode up the front walk along with many other people who were surely here to enter the contest. Jazzy nervously tugged at the zipper on her hoodie, pushing a strand of hair back from her face.

Just inside the doors were Zach and Caroline and Talia bounced over to them in greeting as Jazzy went and signed them up for the tournament. She was surprised at how well organized the event was and it was only a few short minutes later that she joined her sister with their companions.
