Pokémon UNITE General Thread

I don't like to be doing matches with the current friends i have on my friend list including my squad leader for the battle pass mission and not to mention i don't get invites from them that often, but i may be seeking out for more friends that i can do the battle pass mission with. It can't be ranked unless the reward from the mission is worth it. I'm always opened for random standard and quick CPU matches. If ranked, then it has to be master rank only so we don't have to risk our ranks and getting demoted and outside of the eligible rank range.

I almost have everyone here on my unite's friend list. it's just that i haven't added those who haven't gotten me here yet. If you guys need to add me to your unite's friend list, I can give out my ID or use uniteapi's site for the info.

In exchange, I can help out those who need to do matches with a friend together for the missions, but if any those that are returning, i can accept that.

also If it helps even more, Well you guys can contact me through discord which is easier for me (although you just have to PM me for the discord ID) in terms of online activity. I may be on at random times or rather i'm online around 9AM and 5PM PS/DT, but sometimes I can get online if i need to turn in the missions including squad missions.

I'm working my way up the ranks towards Master, currently in Veteran 4 I think? My main priority at the moment has just been doing the missions to get the free Mewtwo-Y (and Mewtwo-X, but I have them now) rather than pushing to get into higher ranks, but it'd be cool to play with some other people from time-to-time? I make no promises for consistency or being any good as I work a lot now and don't always have the time/energy to pursue lengthy amounts of time on the game, but being part of a group or community would be nice. I have my Unite ID thing in my signature along with all the Pokemon I own and play! Slowbro and Eldegoss are my go-to picks for Ranked although I have been playing Mewtwo when I can, as well as the occasional bit of Goodra. Maybe if I had folks to play with I could bust out the Blissey and Clefable a bit more!

Anywho, have we all seen the gameplay footage on YouTube of our latest releases after Mewtwo? One of the new releases has had viewable gameplay since Mewtwo came out as it's on the PTR, but I believe they added the next newest character on there as well and all the YouTubers are making videos on it.

It takes a while to get Mewtwo Y, but taking path B (10/15) is a random chance in getting 15 tokens or event points.

I'm trying to get the hang of goodra. I did see some goodra users and players being the jungler, but downside part is that teammates can interfere by taking wild pokemon and they'll hold you back and keep you underleveled so these kinds and types of behavior shouldn't be acceptable in these matches.

The thing about Goodra is that you wanna use the grass to your advantage and keep yourself healed. You can use a potion to keep yourself alive even further if it helps you. You wanna tank much as possible even at the last min so that way, you can buy your teammates the time for them to escape and allowing yourself to distract your opponents.

I've been tanking like mad and my opponents couldn't kill me inside the grass so i just kept spamming power whip and dragon pulse.

Yeah I've been going for the 15 point paths, currently sat on 60 with 14 days to go? It takes about 2 days to clear a map and get the points so in theory I can do it in 8 days! I've already had one match against a Mewtwo-Y which was good for clearing the missions, but bad for my win-rate as I'm 99% sure I got crushed by it. Such is life!

Goodra is very solid, I've been playing it quite a lot it turns out (think it's my most-used Pokemon this season in Ranked) and I'm winning more than I'm losing. The Goomy phase is actually pretty good, and then you evolve and Dragon Pulse is a life-saver. Not a huge fan of it against more mobile opponents, and there are a lot of those! Muddy Water may be better in those circumstances but I think the healing overall from Dragon Pulse wins out. Been trying Acid Spray over Power Whip as well recently and it's also very good, nice to get a bit of offensive mobility going! I think I prefer Slowbro as a pure Defender but Goodra is great for if you need a bruiser-type character.

I'm starting to think that goodra can fill up energy more easily than the other roles. you get about around 5-20+ energy per match as goodra. More or less if you get the defender MVP and get a lot of assists, kos, heals, and damage taken plus winning a match.

Power whip seems better for me so it's easier to stop an opponent from escaping, but only at the end of the attack range.

Goodra does seem like it would be a good Pokemon to stack with, but I don't know how well it scales? Might have to test that at some point as Sp.Atk Specs + Aeos Cookie might be the hidden tech we've been missing! I think Power Whip is probably better than Acid Spray, the pull in is better than a regular old stun. I just like Acid Spray against speedier foes (which feels like half the roster honestly).

I feel like that the game and devs needs get these idle and disconnected people under control. I caught 2 people idling in my previous standard matches and haven't done anything to contribute to the team such as not participating the team fights when the team needs the most, but that all depends on the lane.

as of the reviews say that the player reports and penalties aren't enough to keep these idle and disconnected players out since they tend to accumulate fair play points back up to 5~10 per day to come back to these random standard and ranked matches.

Anyway i'm still getting the hang of goodra. i only completed the power whip beginner achievement although it's a little tough because your opponents has be at the end of the power whip's range in order for it to count and not to mention that the timing too.

what's funny is that if you go up against another goodra, it could end up being stalemate against each other, but that all depends on if dragon pulse is used more often and while both are in the grass although it's a good way to rack up a lot of dmg taken and some heals.

That's true, but ppl say and/or may think that the nerf is not enough for them. The cause of how mewtwo is ruining the fun and enjoyment for the game is their mega evo. It deserves much more than that, not a minor and emergency nerfs.

if you looked at uniteapi's site, you can see that mewtwo Y's win rate is much higher than the others.

Even though I'm close to 1400+, my teammates have Ultra-ranked players. What's more, no one seems to bother much with Full-Fury battle that even CPU matches are with all bots and me.

Not sure if this means there aren't that many players.

It's tough to do quick matches without live players as if the teammate AI behaviors are pretty much bad at this point especially catch'em mode since they suppose to use a legendary pokemon to swap and make the goal zones defenseless.

Any thoughts on blaziken lately?
