History

Many know it as the competition that sets the weak Flying-type trainers apart from the strong. Being the first city to ever have a Flying-type Gym Leader, this competition is a huge deal in Violet City. After the first PokéRinger competition was held it grew in popularity and spread through many other regions all over the world.

The competition shows off the skills of trainers and their flying Pokémon, testing their speed, skill, and most of all determination. Completely in the air, trainers must give commands to their Pokémon from hot air balloons as their flying Pokémon try to get the ring onto the goal. The ring is attached to a separate hot air balloon set about seven hundred feet into the air. With an unlimited amount of time, competitors and their Pokémon must work together to retreive the ring and place it onto the goal back on the ground before their opponents. What makes it interesting is the fact that attacking the otehr Pokémon to get the ring from them is allowed.

Contestants will all stay in the PokéRinger hotel, complete with rooms for everyone and three large practice fields as well as ten battlefields for normal battling. Any Pokémon able to fly is allowed to enter, so the battles are even more interesting to watch among spectators.

The competition is held in the city’s Gym and no seat is ever empty. Thousands from all over Johto gather to watch the wonderful event and the competition also gets about one million viewers from those in other regions who cannot attend.

No one knows what can happen, and anything is possible – even cheaters. After being humiliated last year, seventeen-year-old Gavin Walsh will do anything to prove he can win. With the help of his younger brother, the two plan to go to any lengths to win this year.

Originating in Violet City just one year ago, the city is ready to hold their second annual PokéRinger Contest. Of the thirty-six to enter, only one person can be victorious. The thirty-six contestants are each put into groups of three, and of those groups, only twelve people will move on to the second round. The second round is just a series of rounds between opponents matched up on brackets. Once there are two people left they go up against the city's Gym Leader, Falkner. The final round is only known as a true test of the finalists determination to win, and if they are able to defeat the master of Flying-types they are known as one of the greatest PokéRingers of all time.

Name: Julian Kenji
Age: 16
Gender: Male

Appearence: Julian is slightly short for someone his age. His clothes are usually a grey, slightly creased sleeveless shirt and blue jeans under a white coat, which has blue lines forming the image of a dragon on the back (namely, Yu-Gi-Oh's Stardust Dragon.) As for his hair, he has chestnut brown hair, with a set of bangs runnign across his forehead and gradually getting longer as you go from left to right (his right to left) until they eventually cover the corner of his right eye (left eye for him). He has blue streaks dyed into his hair. His eyes are a very dark blue, nearly black, and his skin is roughly caramel coloured. His precious I-Pod is stored in a pouch on his belt, along with his deck of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. As for his Poke Balls, the usual belt storage is what he uses.

Personality: Julian is very defiant of what people expect of him. He tries everything to stand out, from loudly playing his 'theme song' as he enters a battle, to playing Yu-Gi-Oh and keeping the deck with him (he likes the game. So what?) He is capable of forming strong bonds with people, and always acknowledges a strong opponent with respect. As for the people he beats, he tries to help them, giving them advice. If there is one thing he loathes, it is being called childish for playing Yu-Gi-Oh. He completely loses it if someone says this and will have to be restrained, for the unlucky speaker's safety. He greatly admires those in high positions who don't misuse their powers and geniuinely try to help others, rather than do it for good publicity.

Pokemon Party:

Altaria
Moves: Dragonbreath, Mist, Safeguard, Featherdance, Ominous Wind, Perish Song
Personality: Altaria is a very friendly Pokemon. He comes across as a bit gruff, but make no mistake, if you're in trouble he will be there to help out. He is often supportive of Julian's ideas.
Where Captured: As a Swablu by Meteor Falls. He later evolved during a battle against a Dragonair.

Heracross
Moves: Vacuum Wave, Aerial Ace, Megahorn, Night Slash, Focus Punch, Close Combat
Personality: Heracross is a strong, silent Pokemon. He prefers to take a back seat to the action normally, but woe betide anyone who ever tries to eat honey in front of him. He will go berserk in his attempts to steal it away for himself.
Where Caught: Heracross was caught in the Safari Zone when he was eating honey out of a Beedrill hive. The Beedrill retunrned and chased him right over to Julian, who caught the bug and repelled the Beedrill with his Altaria.

History: Julian was born in Fortree City. His mother was a fanatic of PokeRinger competitions, so it was soon that Julian got into them. He also developed a great fascination with Yu-Gi-Oh, often playing the game and blowing his pocket money on card packs and over the internet for the cards he needed. Soon, he was ready for his journey and set out to become a PokeRinger master, while sneaking a couple of Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments along the way.

After catching Altaria and Heracross, Julian stayed in Fortree for two months, training in preparation for the greatest of all PokeRinger events, the one hosted in Violet City. Now he's ready to take on the best.

RP Sample: Sarayu struggled to her feet again. This time she took three shaky steps before falling to her knees, her legs buckling beneath her.

"****," she swore, angry at her own weakness. And yet, she felt curious. What had the old man meant, that he was with her, but she wasn't yet with him? Was that even a possiblity?

She looked around, trying to see if there was anyone there, perhaps standing in the shadows around. Her ears strained to catch a soft breath, a light footstep.

There was nothing. She was making a fool of herself over nothing. But that room, those people, it had been so real. She had felt the light searing her eyes, smelt the scent of illness and decay, heard the nurse speak.

The... nurse? What? Why was she with that man?

"When did this school beome a madhouse?" Sarayu muttered. She stood up again, managing to keep herself walking this time. The dorm party was ending, clearly she wasn't goign to score that night. She let out a soft sigh and turned towards home, noticing the cut on her hand had faded to a scab.

Odd as it was, she just took it in its stride. After all, she had enough on her plate.

Extra Notes: Julian tends to play his 'theme song' over his I-Pod as loudly as he can when entering a match. The image song is Hyper Drive, the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's English opening theme.

He also carries a deck of Yu-Gi-Oh cards with him. These will probably only appear for short points, like if he's shuffling them for lack of entertainment or looking at a card.

Name: Adam Silver

Age: Sixteen

Gender: Male

Appearance: Adam is average height for his age, just around 5' 8''. He has black hair that is just long enough it covers his ears. He usually wear black leather pants and a plain black or white T-shirt. His nails are always painted black and he somtimes he has a colored streak in his hair, but it's usually changed frequently.

Personality: Adam is very laid back and loves to be challenged. He wants people to believe that he doesn't care as much or that he can't do things, and absolutley loves to see people's reactions when he does better than what they expected. He never really cares if he loses, but he does try to win the next time. Adam will put his heart into whatever he does and tries to give his audience a good show.

Pokémon Party:
1.) Gastly (M)
-Hypnosis, Night Shade, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Thunderbolt, Icy Wind
-Gastly was Adam's first Pokémon that he caught back when he was nine years old. Adam had gotten lost in Tin Tower one night and Gastly was the only Pokémon to help him out. When Gastly tried to return to its friends after helping Adam get out, they forced him to leave, saying that his job is to scare people, not help them. Gastly managed to find Adam and Adam convinced his parents to allow him to capture Gastly. Because it was his first Pokémon, Adam has loved Gastly so much that neither of them care if Gastly doesn't evolve.
2.) Yanmega (M)
-Quick Attack, AncientPower, Slash, Ominous Wind, Signal Beam
-Yanmega was caught as a Yanma while Adam still lived in Johto. At first, Yanma was only captured because it had managed to sneak into the Bug Cathing Contest from a neighboring route - when Adam showed the judges what he caught they did not accept it, but allowed him to keep it. Yanma grew much stronger as Adam used him in Contests and eventually evolved.
3.) Arbok (F)
-Bite, Glare, Gunk Shot, Haze, Toxic, Dig
-After Adam traveled to Kanto to participate in more Contests he caught Arbok. His main idea in capturing Arbok was to combine power, beauty, and freight all in his appeals. Arbok shares a strong bond with its trainer and is one of Adam's strongest.
4.) Murkrow (F)
-Wing Attack, Night Shade, Faint Attack, Aerial Ace, Roost, Thunder Wave
-Murkrow was the newest addition to Adam's team before he traveled back to Johto to compete in the PokéRinger Contest. Because it was caught for the PokéRinger competition and not contests, Murkrow knows attacks that are more for battling instead of appeals. Even though Adam can use Yanmega, he still will use Murkrow, this way to make her stronger and to have a Pokémon to use in regular battles.

History: Adam was born and raised in Ecruteak City as a child, but once he turned thirteen he set off with his Gastly to enter Contests all around Johto. By the time he was fourteen he had already obtained five ribbons and participated in the Grand Festival, but lost in the preliminaries. He traveled to Kanto in hopes of doing better, but came back to Johto to compete in the PokéRinger Competition. His parents do not accept his choice of career since they paid for him to enter the highest ranking schools to teach him about battling. Adam resents his parents for this and never calls or visits them, but he does occasionally talk to his twelve-year-old sister, who is expeirencing the same fate of having to go to Pokémon Trainer Training School.

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Iveta has dark blonde hair which is long and wavey up to her shoulders, it is very silky as well. Iveta has amber eyes. She is quite tall of medium weight and a moderate sized bust and a cute little behind as well as thin eyebrows and an intermediate lgiht skin colour which has no blemishes and scars, it near perfect. She Wears a Blue Pintucked Button-Front Blouse with a black belt around her waist to make her bust seem bigger and a light wheat colour Tab Front Trace Pocket Pant. Her shoes are of a navy Leather Slip-on and a dark brown 1930's esq hat much like a fedora. Iveta wears very little make-up and has silky smooth legs, she wears a diamond necklace and Silver earings with Pearls.

Personality: Iveta is a very independant women, very educated and smart and can speak different languages. Very calm and elegent, Iveta likes to shop, enjoys wine, good food and romance. She is very determined to succeed and likes to be very technical with her work and style. She holds her emotions well but does let it out under pressure. She is very stylish and very down-to-earth but prissy as well which is depending on the situation and Iveta loves to act. Iveta is a hard worker and likes to makes herself look good but she is very strict with herself and her Pokemon. She is a technical poekringer with her attacks with some stylish flair. She works with herself and her limits.

1) Weezing (Male)
Haze, Smokescreen, Double Hit, Sludge Bomb

The smartest on her team, Ivana uses Weezing to slow down the tempo, It is slow though. It was her first pokemon given as a present on her 9th birthday as a Koffing

2) Yanmega
Bug Bite, Night Slash , U-Turn, Bug Buzz

Yanmega (M) is quite the experienced campaigner as he spend a lot of time with Sam. He is very Smart and likes to keep out of trouble. He was caught in a cave when Sam was travelling with her father when she was young

3) Swellow (Male)
Fly, Aerial Ace, Agility, Steel Wing

Swellow is the attacking, hard worker, He likes to always work and train but gets carried away a lot of times, He was caught as a Tailow during a normal battle with Iveta's Weezing during a trip around Hoenn

History: Ivena was born in a small higher class family with one younger brother. Her father is the business owner in Lavaridge Town and her mother took over from Nurse Joy in the Pokemon Center. Iveta wanted to become a trainer but due to the retrictions had to become an actor but due to those restrictions she had decided to go into PokeRinger as a part time but with her parents' support, She wanted to become a top flight actress and a decent PokeRinger and make her family proud. She has never been outside Hoenn which made Iveta reply, "I want to explore the world, see the beauty that I could never see and be the best I can be". Iveta uses her father's connections to get her clothes, shoes and other stock, She loves pokemon after being around them via her mother. Her younger brother wants to be just like her as a PokeRinger and Iveta will hopefully use the tournament to become a well known and as a gateway to acting

"Well I must start packing and getting a bus or maybe a train" she said as she got a bag out,

"Lets see, I need clothes, I need a lot of clothes, Shoes and many of shoes" she said as she as she looked at her wardrobe

"I could get mother to send me some, I guess I will take these" she said as she delicately placed many jeans, tops, dresses, blouses, cardigans and skirts as well as many shoes about 5 pairs, 3 of them stylish into a massive bag

"Music, Phone, Wallet, Jewellery, Hair straightener, make-up, hair/body products, perfume, important objects and hairclips, I can't believe I forgot my books, I need something to read and my camera and a hairdryer, map, towels, food, Hats, Sunglasses, My Tag Hauer and my Cello as well as the Bass and Money a lot of it" she said as she quickly stuffed everything into 3 suitcases

"Nice, Dominika, you are one prepared girl" she smiled as she threw in a DVD Player and a few films and locked the suitcases

"Now I am going via a motorbike which I can ride hopefully" she thought as she looked at the suitcases ready to go from Oldale to Lilycove as she went to her garage to get her motorbike which was still looking well along with the family car and other junk that they acquired a long time ago.

Dominika placed her 3 suitcases on the motorbike which was given by a local after Dominika gained her motobike license and tied it so it would not fall

"Time to experience new moments in life" she thought as she started the engine and left without the rest of Oldale knowing that she left

Dominika reached Lilycove after a long, very long trip, She parked her bike in the hotel parking, "Nice Bike" she commented as she studied the livery of it, "Needs a feminine touch though" she said as she walked in the leather jacket to the lobby holding her suitcases and her helmet and stuggling with it

"A single room" she said as her long blonde hair flew out via the fan "For Dominika Fisichella" she said as the man typed her details in the computer and gave her a key, "Thank you" she respectfully answered

She walked into her room, "Nice, It has to be the best hotel for me" she said as she dumped her 3 suitcases on her bed

"Tired, I have about a long time left" she said looking at her watch, "One week I thing, I could do some shopping" she thought

Name: Alex Shore
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Male
Appearance: Alex is tall for his age, with a very thin build, he is often described as a stick, which annoys him quite a bit. He has a very pale white skin, mainly because he prefers to train at night, seeing as that’s when most of his Pokemon are at their best. His hair is a deep black color, a huge contrast to his skin, and the reaction is very strange when people gaze at him. His eyes are a deep auburn color, with a hint of grey in within the eye. The pupils are slightly smaller than normal, as his deep eye color overwhelms it.
Personality: Alex is a very underconfident child, scared of what people think of him, scared of failure, and more importantly, scared of being alone. He builds up very close relationships with his Pokemon, because he knows that they can’t leave him, since he is their master in a sense, although preferring to think of them as colleagues. He entered the tournament to prove to himself, as well as others, that he can be successful in battles as well as shows, although this is his first proper match, and he intends to battle the gym as soon as this tournament is over, but if he wins it, all the better.
Pokémon Party:
1) Skarmory (M)
- Night Slash, Air Cutter, Steel Wing, Agility, Brave Bird, Whirlwind
- The Skarmory is very old, and wise for a Pokemon of its type, although it is still very swift, it has become more elegant with its old age. It can sometimes make mistakes during battles, but it has grown fairly strong over the years, its armour becoming weaker with time.
- Bred from his fathers Noctowl and his mothers Skarmory, this was the first Pokemon Alex ever trained, and he has kept this as his loyal partner ever since he was five years old, the Skarmory now quite old but wise with years.

2) Macargo (M)
- Lava Plume, Rock Slide, Yawn, Smog, Recover, Ancientpower
- Macargo is frankly happy that he doesn’t need to participate within the tournament, as he is a very lazy Pokemon, preferring nothing more than to rest in the sun all day, trying to remember the warm, sandy area that it used to call home. It is loyal to its owner, just not particularly caring enough to bother.
- The first Pokemon that Alex caught in the wild, on his tenth birthday, in the route just east of his home, this Slugma didn’t seem to put up a fight when he threw the Pokeball. He has been a useful Pokemon in catching others ever since.

3) Spinda (M)
- Dizzy Punch, Sucker Punch, Teeter Dance, Uproar, Copycat, Psybeam
- Spinda is a…confusing Pokemon to say the least, this Pokemon doesn’t really understand what’s going on, and doesn’t even realise he’s been caught really, he just runs around slightly crazy and confuses the opponent, as well as himself on many occasions. He’s a big fan of Macargo, and tries to copy him in every way.
- He was caught two years after Macargo, when Alex finally began his journey, Alex didn’t even mean to catch it, he was throwing his pokeball at a sandshrew but the Spinda just walked along and fell infront of the ball, and was captured instead.

4) Drowzee (F)
- Future Sight, Zen Headbut, Meditate, Poison Gas, Headbut, Disable
- This Drowzee likes to use its head to solve problems, which reveals really why two of its moves have the word head in, and another she actually meditates on his head. She loves his trainer a lot, and would do anything for him, except face Noctowl, as she hates the eyes of Noctowl more than anything, the way they pierce into the Drowzees soul.
- She was caught as Alex was travelling along Route 34, south of Goldenrod, on his way slowly to the first gym location. She jumped out of the bushes and attacked Alex, but was quickly defeated by the confusing Spinda, and then captured by Alex.

5) Noctowl (M)
- Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Air Slash, Take Down, Sky Attack, Mirror Move
- Although a Noctowl, this Pokemon is rather young, and is very active in battles. When out of battles, however, its very calm, and almost creepy in the way it stares at a Pokemon or trainer for a long amount of time, without blinking of course. This Pokemon is going to be used in the tournament, so was trained long and hard so it could be eligible to fight in these battles.
- Alex found this Pokemon alone in a nest as a Hoothoot, seemingly abandoned by its owner. Alex saw the opportunity, and quickly caught it, training it long and hard hours on his journey, and finally evolving it to Noctowl in time for the tournament.

6) Hoppip (F)
- Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Bullet Seed, U-Turn
- Currently the weakest and the youngest of Alexs effect team, this young Hoppip is used in battle to stun, poison and put the enemy to sleep, before U-turning out of there allowing the next Pokemon to join the battle. Out of battle it prefers to play as much as possible, and Alex allows it to do so, deciding on evolving it maybe another time.
- Caught just outside of Violet city on route 32, this Pokemon was simply caught as a filler in the last place of the team. Since then it has become very attached to Alex, and will be used in the tournament, regardless of its strength.

History: Alex was born in the Hoenn region in the town of Fallabour, living their for the first Twelve years of his life, he grew up helping his father in his business, fishing. However, it made the boy begin to think of water Pokemon as food, rather than as normal Pokemon, so that drew him slightly towards the idea of catching bird Pokemon. He had already got his Skarmory before his journey was allowed to begin, and when he was finally ten, he didn’t really see the point of starting a journey, so he stayed around his home for the next two years. Finally, he decided, he would make his way to Johto, to watch a PokeRinger tournament, yet on arrival of the boat that would take him there, he found it had crashed off the rocks. So, he had to wait for five months before he was allowed to journey across, and then slowly made his way by train to Goldenrod city. He hung around for a while at Goldenrod, having a look at what the city had to offer, before making his way to Violet city, to start gym battles and to watch the PokeRinger. Halfway from Goldernrod, he had a sudden change of heart, and decided he wanted to participate in the festivities, so he began training.
RP Sample:

Chaz slowly walked down the stairs, it was early in the morning, his dad was asleep, and he wanted to get some early training in. He slowly creeped through the front door. It made a slight squeaking noise, so Chaz quickly turned around to make sure no one was watching, and he walked out. He slowly jogged along the road, looking at his surroundings. He noticed that a group off people had gathered in the center of town, and this was slightly suprising. Chaz, not wanting to be seen as he would be in serious trouble if caught, hopped up a tree. He watched as his uncle, the Professor, started to give a speech. Chaz could vaguely make out the words, picking up only “Suit” and “memories.” He leant forward, attempting to see more clearly, when he felt an unexpected gust of wind. He slipped, loosing his footing and fell face down onto the floor. The professor noticed, as well as the rest of the crowd. Chaz quickly stood up and stared forwards embarrassingly.

“Uh…the thing is…I…” Chaz stared downwards at the floor for a few seconds. He was expecting to be shouted at, and braced himself. After about ten minutes had passed, he stared up again, and noticed the group, of six, in fact, staring at him, not shouting. He was actually fairly shocked, and a puzzled expression came across his face. “Wait…aren’t I in trouble?” The Professor smiled, a creepy smile that only occurs once in a while. Chaz knew that smile far too well. “No…Just no, I don’t care what your scheme is, I can not, and will not take part in it!”

Half an hour later Chaz stood in front of the crowd, his new suit on, it was a fairly basic design. He then stared at the professor. “So… Your seriously telling me this suit changes because of memories?” The professor nodded. “Try it out.” He said simply. Chaz was annoyed, the only thing he could remember now was the warmth of his normal clothes. Suddenly he felt the energy in him change, and he stared down at his suit. It had become his normal clothes, completely the same. He looked up at the professor. “Wait, what? How? Why? When?” The professor laughed. “You’re testing this suit simply because my assistant left town. I need you to do the same. Many people left the town to head for the island where the king lives. Only three of the thirteen that went arrived. I need you to go and find them, so we can return them to safety.”

Chaz simply said… “But my father…?” The professor stopped him, as his father walked out of the crowd, he nodded. So, Chaz thought, now was the time to get all the martial arts training he got himself into to the test. And he prepared for his journey.

treespyro, I like that your character wants to use the competition to get well-known so she can become and actress. Accepted. And just one suggestion, could you please try to work on your grammar? I'm not sure if it's okay to ask, but it was just a bit confusing to read. A lot of the times there were just commas where periods should be and things of the like. Sorry, I'm just a grammar dork.

For those of us who haven't seen the PokéRinger episode, it would incredibly helpful if you explained how the "battles" or whatever work. Where do they get the rings from - are they given them from the start, are they hidden in trees or something? Where are the goals? Is it time-based (person with shortest time wins) or are Pokémon battling one another in the air, protecting their goals (like basketball?) and/or attacking each other to steal opponents' rings?

Also, is there really any point to tariners having more than one Pokémon? Can they all be used in the matches, even if they don't fly? How? Pokémon should also have their own smaller sign-ups, or at least the main one used for the competition, including at the very least Species, Gender, Personality, Appearance if you so wish, and...whatever happened to Name? Is any sane reason you can provide for forbidding people from making their Pokémon individuals and giving them names, or Pokémon having names given to them by parents? Because that did rather confuse (and, to some extent, annoy) me, I have to say. (Pokémon have nicknames even in the show, after all.)



Anyhow, once all that's added to the first post, I am quite sure I'm going to sign up - I've been itching for a simple Pokémon RP for awhile.

Name: Travis Reese

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Appearance: Travis has light black hair, that goes down to his ears, and he has beautiful light blue eyes. He is thin, has broad shoulders, and is barely over five feet tall. He is also very strong. His normal outfit is a dark blue and white striped rugby shirt, navy blue jeans, and a yellow “Livestrong” bracelet on his right wrist. He also wears a necklace that has a Sharpedo tooth attached to it and a band on his left wrist that is made out of feathers from various flying type Pokemon, like Pidgeot or Noctowl. He is very handsome, and he is usually found with many fan girls around him.

Personality: Travis can be quite arrogant and stubborn at times, and will usually do things his own way, thinking that he is always right. He has a lot of pride and will never ask for help from other people. He detaches himself from a lot of people because he is afraid that he will one day lose them, like what happened to his parents. But he is very close and caring with his Pokemon, he loves them. Once you get past his arrogance and pride, you’ll see that he can be a very friendly and outgoing person.

Pokémon Party:

Female Mawile
Travis received mawile as a birthday present when he turned ten years old from his parents. Travis and Mawile have a very strong bond, and are great partners in battle. They completely trust each other.
Moves: Iron Head, Crunch, Sucker Punch, Iron Defense, Sweet Scent, Thunder Punch

Male Pidgey
Travis caught Pidgey while traveling to Eckruteak City. Pidgey was being chased by an angry flock of Spearow, so Travis and Mawile saved him from them. Pidgey was very grateful and decided to join Travis’s team. Pidgey has been a great battler and is very close to evolving.
Moves: Brave Bird, Gust, Quick Attack, Roost, Uproar, Mirror Move

Male Skarmory
Travis caught Skarmory while in Goldenrod City, where it was terrorizing civilians at the local market. Travis’s Mawile calmed Skarmory down, and the two created a great friendship. Travis then caught Skarmory, who has proved to be an outstanding battler, and has tamed him since.
Moves: Air Slash, Steel Wing, Aerial Ace, Metal Sound, Twister, Drill Peck

History: Travis was born and raised in Olivine City as a child, until his parents died in a fatal boat accident, when he was only ten years old. His uncle then took care of him, until he turned thirteen and he set off with his Mawile to battle GYMs all around Johto. So far, he has won three GYM badges and they are the following: the Fog Badge, the Plain Badge, and the Hive Badge. When he arrived in Violet City, he saw an advertisement for the PokeRinger competition and was intrigued. He is now entering the PokeRinger Competition with high hopes of winning.

RP Sample:

In the present day Sinnoh, a teenage boy watches a live television program where the new President, Mandarin Rightessa, is making a speech to the public of Hearthome City. The boy has large scars all over his face, and is wearing a sweatshirt with a hood, and jeans. He is watching the television program in an old apartment on a broken down couch with his Absol sitting next to him. The boy laughed as Mandarin Rightessa talked about how civilians shouldn't panic.

"Shouldn't panic, eh?" he said. A large evil grin grew upon his face. "We'll see about that." He picked up two other Pokeballs and put them into his pocket. He gave another creepy laugh as he walked out of the door of his apartment, with his Absol following him. As he came out onto the streets of Hearthome City, it seemed to grow even quieter and suddenly there was no one but him. The mood of the city turned even more ominous and creepy as Tommy put a black mask over his face, concealing his scars. He kept on laughing as he made his way to the Hearthome Convention Center, where Mandarin Rightessa is making his speech.

Suddenly, two police cars stopped in front of him. From the two cars came out four Policemen who held guns.

"Stop in the name of the law!" One of the plumper Policemen shouted. They seemed to be trembling as Tommy just stood there looking down at the ground. "I repeat. Stop in the n-name of th-he law!" he sputtered. The tension increased as Tommy stood there, enjoying there fear. He then suddenly looked up and the policemen backed off a foot or two. They seemed to be frightened even more by his mask.

"Shadow. If you please?" Tommy calmly asked. Shadow, Tommy's Absol, walked in front of him. He started to gather a strong gust, and then he threw the attack at the four Policemen, knocking them over. The attack was Razor Wind, and it was Shadow's favorite attack. Shadow smiled at his handiwork as he and Tommy walked past the four unconscious policemen and continued to the convention center.

Psychic, I honestly hadn't though about if people never saw the PokéRinger episode. I'll definately edit that as soon as I can - it just might take about half an hour because I need to work on a project for school :\

And about the Pokémon, I didn't understand the part about them having their own sign up. Did you mean like having them being able to enter without a trainer or just having the user signing up need to include all of those things? I already have in the SU form that the user can add how they act and stuff, and I'll add that they can include gender and such. As for nicknames, I personally would like to be able to know what Pokémon someone is talking about. On another RPG I'm in I have no idea what Pokémon people have and only do know if I go back and check their SU form, which is a pain to do with random lag and such. Because really, just think about how many nicknames that would be if everyone gave the Pokémon nicknames - I just think it's unnecessary. If you really want me to then fine, but right now I'm going to keep that.

Ah, all right, that makes more sense now. I figured there were multiple rings and contestants had to try to stick as many on the goal as possible in the shortest amount of time or something like that.

What I meant about the sign-ups was more just creating a slightly clearer format so that it would just be somewhat neater. So instead it might look more like

though what you have going is...acceptable. I see what you mean about the nickname problem, though. That's more stupidity on your RPers' parts; they should know that nobody is going to remember their Pokémons' names and species, so instead of always saying the nicknames (like "Blaze used Flamethrower" or "Hydro grunted" or whatever) they should be encouraged to refer to them as their species' name at least once per post (such as "the Roserade smirked" or ""Collosus, use Rock Slide!" he commanded, the Onix obeying immediately"). That or just allow people to use nicknames but encourage them not to use them during the RP itself (which admittedly is rather redundant). It's your call as a GM, but it's something to consider, at least for your other RP.


Also, a little random, but I was curious about Carnivine, so I looked it up using the 'Dex, and, erm...they don't seem to fly. Though you may want to consider Togetic/Togekiss, Drifloon/Drifblim and other ghost types and floating Pokémon (such as Magnemite or Chimecho). I'm also still wondering about having more than one Pokémon; can more than one be used in a match, and how? Do they remain in the ballon with the trainer and fight from afar, can they ride on their teammates' backs? If a trainer has multiple flying types, doesn't that put everyone else at a disadvantage? Might it be more fair for only one main flying type to fly about the field, while all others are forced to stay by the ballon and attack from afar?

I've really never seen the episode, so I don't know how any of this works, and I figure you may want to try to keep it as fair as possible, so *shrugs*.

Psychic, I've read your post, but it's 10:16 P.M. here and I'm extremely tired, so I'll reply more tomorrow, but for now, I'll answer a few things, mainly the stuff at the end.

Trainers can have more than one Pokémon for the competition (i.e. a Yanmega and a Murkrow, like my character), however only one can be entered in a match. Like I could have Yanmega in my first match, then if I moved on I could have Murkrow in the next and vice versa. And with Carnivine, they have the ability Levitate, but I'm going to scratch allowing them to enter, because it makes more sense to keep them out And with Drifblim/Drifloon, I kept out Ghost- and Psychic-types to avoid them trying to use Psychic and Confusion as their main attacks and not even having to really move if they used those two attacks the entire time. Yes, some that are allowed to enter can learn those attacks, but I will have someone in the beginnign of the competition (most likely Falkner) say that those kinds of attacks are not allowed.

*will comment on the rest in about eighteen hours, once I sleep and go/get back from school xD*

Appearance: Emily is average height for her age. She has reddish-brown her which falls to about her shoulders. She usually wears a checked blue shirt that’s a bit baggy on her. She wears a short purple skirt; she also wears a pair of low-top converses. Over her shoulder is usually a yellow leather shoulder bag. She also always has a bow in her hair.

Personality: Emily can sometime be quite a shy sort of person when around new people, but when she has met and got to know the person she is completely comfortable talking with them. She always says she doesn’t mind losing but you can always tell she actually does by the way she acts after losing. Emily is not a very determined person and can easily be told to do differently, especially if it was her older sister telling her to do so.

History: Pidgey was found by Emily when she was only 5 years old, he was an abandoned baby so Emily took it in and kept him, they became best friends since and don’t go anywhere without each other.

History: Emily was given Combee by her grandmother, Combee was a great friend to Emily’s grandmother but before she passed away she told Combee to go with Emily’s older sister she was un happy with her so she decided to stay with Emily

Attacks: Bite, Flame Wheel, Take Down, Fire Fang
History: Emily caught Growlithe on her journey in Kanto and they became friends but not at first, Growlithe was not following any of Emily’s commands at first, but they soon found true friendship when they worked together to help save a group of lost Chamanders


History: Emily was born and grew up in Floaroma town in Sinnoh with her mum, dad and older sister Sonya. When she was about 12 years old she went to Kanto to explore, she wasn’t really interested in gyms much but was involved in a few battles along the was. She grew fond to battling and decided to try out some new things; she didn’t want to travel around Kanto again. So she went over to Johto the first thing she saw was an advertisement for the PokéRinger competition, she went to it straight away, not even knowing what it was.

She left a few friends and family in Sinnoh but she still keeps contact with them, her mother is especially up set since Grandma died few months back. She also made a few friends in Kanto but they didn’t want to go to Johto with her.

RPG Sample: (I haven’t done an RPG so I’ll do a bit about Emily’s past)

Emily sat up from her lying down position on the dentist’s chair, she hated dentists, the taste of rubber globes was still in her mouth and was dieing to run home and wash her mouth out.

“All done, your teeth look great” said the tall dentist with a cheesy smile on his face.

“Thanks Doctor!” She got up and left the surgery without another word, her mum was in the waiting room, she got up when Emily went out and went into the room to get her teeth checked, Emily didn’t wait for her mum so she stepped outside and waited in the car. The closest Dentist was in Jubilife city and she wanted to get back to Floaroma town. She hated the smell of the city. Pidgeot was sat outside of the car scratching his wing with his beak. He would fly home after them, as usual, it took about 20 minutes for her mum to get out of the surgery, which was odd because it didn’t usually take that long. Emily’s mum came out; her blue eyes welled up with tears. Emily got out of the car and walked over to her mother.

“Mum, what’s the matter, what’s happened?” Emily asked.

“It’s Grandma, she’s very sick and had to be taken to hospital” was the answer.

Emily loved her grandma; she gave her mum a big and squeezed her tightly. She could now feel her eyes welling up with tears.
