Huh, I never expected to finish this signup by today... Well anyway, now for a character I haven't RP'd in ages!

Name: Hiroshi "Gon" Tsukimaru
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Description: Gon is not extremely tall--5'3" to be exact. His jet-black hair, straight and rather coarse in texture, is slightly longer in the back than the front, just so that it can touch his ears and the bottom of his neck and show his little beady black eyes. But it proves to be a nice contrast to his skin tone, which is a light yellowish tan. His face is narrow and rectangular, with a medium-sized nose and an almost non-existent chin. He also has the beginnings of a moustache, though it looks more like two thick black whiskers on the sides of his face. Though he has markedly scrawny arms, he also has soft shoulders and somewhat of a belly, and not much build anywhere else.
Having fairly sensitive skin, Gon prefers more comfortable attire--for example, you'll never see him wearing jeans or boots or even most belts. The black T-shirt he wears is so soft in texture that it wouldn't even be called a T-shirt if it didn't look like one. The design on the front of this shirt consists of a Dragonair sitting in a circle around a Dragonite, who has a Dratini draped over its shoulders. Several people have remarked on how cute the Dratini's face looks... Anyway, Gon's so fussy about picking comfortable clothing that he wears pajama bottoms, with a red flannel pattern on them, and below that, black sandals with white socks underneath. This might give him an air of someone who is intent on staying in bed all day, but rather it just softens his overall appearance, not to mention that around him is a faint aroma of baby powder.
Gon also carries his laptop around, in a large black case with a Butterfree on it.
Personality: Gon likes to be the light when all else seems dark and lonely. With a highly optimistic attitude, he works his way through life's problems by looking for the easiest and most convenient way out. He likes to be spontaneous, to not plan things too far in advance. For he knows too well that even the most well-devised plans can change at the last minute. In fact, he likes it when this type of change occurs, and often ends up flaking on other people's plans. Unless he a really good incentive to do so, he will NOT stick to any sort of regular schedule. Truly he believes that life is a boisterous casino, in which everything is ruled by chance and nothing can be predicted.
Gon is a bit of a computer geek, not going anywhere without his laptop and being very computer-literate. He likes to be in touch with what is going on in the world. If he doesn't feel like he's part of a larger community or connected to someone else, he becomes uneasy and flustered. Also, he likes to talk to a lot of different people (he's the type who would have many friends on Facebook), but it's hard for him to become really close friends with them. In general, he finds it better to get along with a virtual pet (Pokemon included) or an electronic device than a person.
Gon speaks in a relatively casual manner, no matter who he's with. He doesn't focus too much on being polite, but nevertheless tries to soften his words by adding hesitations. He hates being blunt, especially when breaking bad news to someone. When upset, he's much more likely to groan or mutter unintelligible things than to swear. Also, he has an interesting habit of trying to use cool slang terms, but often ends up using them in the wrong context. He loves to compliment people, and when he criticises people, he does so in the form of a question. ("Don't you wonder if what you're doing would offend people?")
Although Gon is not too into romance, he is occasionally prone to falling under the spell of a really pretty girl. In fact, Gon is pretty prone to being led into all sorts of trouble, being quite gullible and trusting people too easily most of the time. To get over any problem he encounters, the first thing he does is think of something that's wonderful about it (especially the case if the problem is with a person), and hopefully use that to fix the problem. And when he loses a competition, like a Pokemon battle, he doesn't pout--instead he compliments the winner (especially the case if the winner makes fun of him) and points out that he's not very experienced. And... let's finish off with a few more random things. Despite his overall geekiness, Gon likes the outdoors and is mildly interested in sports, oddly enough. He's also interested in the Pokemon trading card game, and loves to eat. He loves Pokemon in general, especially Bug and Fire and maybe Dragon-types.
History: Gon has always been a city person. He and his family moved from Japan to California when he was around seven. Because both his parents had jobs, he spent much of his time with his little sister Ari. The two of them enjoyed exploring around town while their parents were away, especially when they were younger. As they got older, school separated them a bit, but also around that time they started spending lots of time on the computer (especially with their parents both working in technological fields), and texted each other a lot while at school. Both were Pokemon fans since its original inception, and enjoyed playing similar video games as well.
Then at one point, Ari, for whatever reason, locked herself in her room for quite a while, and wouldn't respond to the IM's Gon sent her. Figuring she was spending long hours playing the Poketropolis MMORPG again, he logged onto that and attempted to send a message to Ari's account. But while walking around the virtual world, he encountered a staff person who told him about the virtual-reality version of the game. Immediately Gon decided to try it out, thinking that perhaps the reason Ari wasn't responding was because the same thing happened to her...

Pokemon: Dratini (Benten)
Gender: Female
Attacks: Wrap, Thunder Wave, Twister
Personality: Benten is a very touchy-feely type of Dratini. To show her affection for someone, she will wrap her body around them and give a light squeeze. However, she freaks out if she unintentionally causes harm to someone. She can't stand being told that what she is doing is wrong--if that happens, she starts to cry. When she's anywhere near danger, she wants to get away from it as soon as possible, even if someone is hurt. So far the only emotion she's been able to willfully control is anger, due to her past experience with seriously hurting Pokemon in battle. Even to this day, she's really hesitant about using her attacks at full power.
There is a stereotype of dragons being fiercely powerful, but Benten doesn't fit it at all. She wants to become stronger, but wants to do that without being the savage attacker that the Pokemon of many elite trainers seem to be. Though she enjoys doing small things to help someone out, she hates making requests, preferring instead to seek things out herself. For example, when she's hungry, rather than pressing her trainer for food, she'll go look for some herself. However, she is quite paranoid about invading someone's space or taking things that are not hers. And despite all this, she hates being alone (this includes being inside a Pokeball). She likes to have someone with her to act as a guide or a mentor, and thus can easily trust anyone who seems to have those qualities yet doesn't seem too violent.
