Pokeball w. Mew question

((I searched everywhere and couldn't find this question. I'm hoping someone could give me maybe a little insight. Thank you for your time!))

We know that if we pre-order the pokeball for Let's Go, there will be a Mew inside. I'm under the impression that the pokeball will be able to connect to our Pokemon Go account and act like a Pokemon Go Plus. We were also told that we can't trade the Mew to Pokemon Go.

My question is, if we don't have a Switch, pre-order the pokeball with Mew inside, will it be all set to go and interact with, or do you have to claim it through the Switch?

Assuming you can only obtain Mew in Pokémon LGP/E, yes. The only way is to get a copy of the game and a Switch to be able to obtain Mew. Other than that, no confirmation about how the connectivity between the periperhal and GO will be achieved.

The advertising makes it seem as if the Poké Ball Plus comes with the Mew already "inside" but it's difficult to know for certain until the peripheral starts selling at retail.
