POKEMON ADVANCED BATTLE new intro

I realize they still consider BF to be "Advanced" in Japan, but they changed the opening at the exact right time to show a separation between Hoenn Leage and BF Leage. Now in the US we've seen the shadows of ALL BF Leaders even though Ash will only encounter ONE before the season ends (therefore ruining the un-shadowing concept that the Japan intro will most likely follow). Also, Manene will not appear at all this season in the US. So I guess the poor timing is just my biggest complaint. <shrugs>

Spoilers GALORE!! I did not like this intro very much. I thought Advance Challenge's intro was SOO much better!! -__-;; They spoiled stuff thats not even gonna be in that season too!!

<Nods>. Even MEDLEY didn't spoil that MAY was getting Munchlax (just that somebody probably would...most people assumed Brock).

I hope some people who DON'T follow the Jap episodes/spoilers comment on this thread, this intro has to confuse the HELL outta them!

example:

"Why the hell are a Squirtle and Munchlax running with May's Combusken? Where are Skitty, Beautifly and Bulbasaur?"

"Who's the guy with purple hair next to Drew?"

"Where the hell did Phanpy come from?"

"How did Misty get an Azurill?"

"What's that pink thing dancing next to Jessie?"

"What's that thing in the tree by Mew?"

Why are people so upset about minor spoilers in this intro?

The Advance Challenge intro spoiled A LOT more.

What did we learn from this intro? That Ash has Phanpy back on his team, we see a Munchlax, Misty has an Azurill, and we see little critters running by Jessie and James?

The Frontier stuff basically just spoiled that Ash will be challenging them, but the people watching the show now have no idea that Ash will return to Kanto.

And I didn't put a spoiler box here, because the intro did that nicely.

Minor??! Do you realize HOW LONG it would ACTUALLY be until the U.S will actually see this stuff happening?? Next year is my bet! They showed off the BF stuff and Ash hasn't even gotten his 7th badge yet nor competed in the League- hell, I bet he doesn't know of the BF yet himself. There was nothing "minor' about the spoliers in that intro at all.

That's sorta true...the two are about on the same level in terms of revelations, though, i think.

CHALLENGE =

Brock's Lotad would evolve
Ash's Taillow would evolve
Ash's Treeko would evolve
Ash (or somebody) would get a Torkoal
May (or somebody) would get a Bulbasaur
May (or somebody) would get a Skitty
May's Torchic would evolve

BATTLE =

Ash will compete against the BF Leaders
May will get a Squirtle
May will get a Munchlax
Misty will get an Azurill
Ash will go back to using Phanpy
NEW POKEMON = Manene
NEW POKEMON = Manyula
NEW POKEMON = Rukario
*people also can question why Squirtle/Munchlax appear with May but NOT Skitty/Beautifly/Bulbasaur, therefore spoiling that they are leaving her team (why not just show the MEDLEY clip with them jumping through Combusken's Fire Spin???)



It's just kind of stupid that the BATTLE intro spoils things that don't happen until the very end (like Squirtle, Azurill, the BF leaders) but DOESN'T spoil upcoming changes like Brock's Ludicolo and Ash's Snorunt...at least CHALLENGE just took care of everything right off the bat :p

...As are those who are actually questioning whether the cloaked shadowy figure was Mewtwo or not. Seriously, I really do not understand how anyone could think otherwise.


I haven't seen the intro considering I live halfway across the globe from good ol' KidsWV, so I have no critism on the new intro, evidently :p

I do however think its pretty strange to have all these new additions featured in the opening, when all of them are set to be shown a very long time from now. Munchlax is understandable because that could just be passed off as a random promotional insert, but having all these new pokémon jumping around, as well as Phanpy is going to leave people who aren't aware of upcoming changes hanging on for quite a while.
I guess their ingenious strategy is 'show the kids all this new stuff to keep 'em interested for much longer'.
Not that I really care or anything =o

I COMPLETELY agree with you. I mean, wow... even from Advance Challenge I felt a little something from it.. I mean..everything asbout it was 'in your face' so to say and it was a great feeling.. from the intro just released.. I felt nothing. At all. =___=;;... Watered-down clips from Medley, and BF to live up to its title as "Advance Battle".. =__= Terrible name btw too.. isn't 'Challenge' the same a 'Battle' so to say.. the challenges were the battles x___x;;... I'm upset now..

Hey I was just thinking about how there might be another Mewtwo movie because in the end of Mewtwo returns hes in a city, and since ash is going back to the old regions he might meet Mewtwo again(but thats just wishful thinking).

I do not belive Mewtwo:
1) Wears clothes, the shadow looks alot like a dress
2) especially a dress!

Mewtwo has a tail, three 'fingers' and two lil horn like things on his head, when it shown the shadow on his head there was only two lumps which could be mistaken for horns but it was obviously wearing clothes

This should take us all the way up to where the Japanese version is currently at [spoil](the contest)[/spoil] and by then there will likely be a new opening in Japan. So that, combined with leftovers from here, can work.
