The Hoenn League isn't nearly better than the Alola League, LOL

In the Hoenn League the only great Episodes are the last 4 (Ash vs Katie/Morrison/Tyson)
Oh wait, the Alola League has Ash vs Kukui, 4 great Episodes too. But now, this League has Ash VS Guzma (definitely better EPs than the overrated Ash vs Katie), Gladio VS Kiawe and Ash VS Gladio, and like 10 extra episodes because Hoenn was 7 EP and Alola 17 EP

Guzma did nothing in that battle that was special or out of the ordinary.Katie battled Ash using brains which was similar to how Paul and Conway battled Ash in DP.

Ash VS Katie is basically a downgrade of other Ash's Battles such as Ash VS Harrison, again, Katie was basically the same type of character like Ritchie, the only exception is that her battle was a Full Battle, that's all. Same with Conway, he isn't diferent to other Ash's Rivals like Tierno (who was defeated by Sawyer) or Kiawe (who was defeated by Gladio)

Ash VS Guzma was a better battle because the Guzma's backstory and satisfying resolution. This was an example about how an EP can focused on other character, even if Ash wins the battle. The battle itself was still good AND Ash's moved up to the finals twice in a row, that's more important and relevant for Ash than moving up to the quarterfinals twice in a row.

Alola league better than the Hoenn league?

How about no?

The Hoenn League has Just like...4 great Episodes, the Alola League has the same number Just in the Exhibition Match between Ash vs Kukui, and that battle is at least top2 of Battles in the anime, so yeah...the Alola League was better than the Hoenn League.
Also, the Hoenn League is still worse than the Battle Frontier Battles EP, that's much more comparable to the Alola League because it's longer (12 episodes) and most of those are better than the Hoenn League Episodes

The Alola league had a shitty free for all mess followed by meh-mediocre battles and a garbage one with Hau and the climax being the only 6vs6 battle of the tournament which is good but people also tend to overrate.

Sorry but I can't see it.

And it's the same with the Hoenn League, the first 4 episodes are mediocre or Bad, the "better" it's the Grovyle/Glalie vs Charizard/Quilava and isn't something spectacular

In the Alola League, we have important things for the main cast like Mallow mastered her Z move, Lillie showing her progress as a Trainer (especially because that was a siblings Battle with her mom seeing the Battle), Kiawe forming a New rivalry with Gladion, Guzman's redenction, Ash's winning his first in-game Pokémon League Conference and Ash's winning the Exhibition Match

That's much more that we have with the Hoenn League, this League has absolute nothing Special because Ash has no Main Rivals this series

EDIT: Considering that Ash VS Katie was during the Round of 32 of the Hoenn League and this is the main tournament, all the trainers should be strong at this point, so the Battle isn't Special.

I don't know what you're even looking for in a league. Yes some character develpopment can help but the thing that matters the most in a league is the quality of the battles and regarding that the Alola isn't good.

Quality of Battles? The Alola League has the same number of episodes with good Battles than the Hoenn League (4) Just with the Exhibition Match. And still, the semifinals and the final Battle are still good Battles with Character development. You can argue than the Round of 16 and Quaterfinals of the Alola League are not great, but it's like the Hoenn League before the 6vs6 Battles

Yes because the Alola league was just twice as long? The Kukui battle was two episodes out of like what? 14-15? It's just like all those bad and mediocre battles also took multiple episodes and that the majority of the battles were just not good.

Because it was twice as long, we got much more Character development and much more memorable Moments. And the battles were good since the semifinals. That's 3 EP in semifinals, 2 in finals and 4 in the Exhibition Match. That's a total of 9/17 Episodes.

The Hoenn League has 4/8 Episodes with good Battles (since Ash vs Katie)

No point in arguing any further with a delusional SM tard with low standards who refuses to look at all the evidence down below.

Ash vs Katie Part 1

Ash vs Katie Part 2
---------------------------------------------------------
Conway and Dawn vs Trainer's Koffing and Scyther

Conway and Dawn vs Paul and Ash

Conway vs Ash

I can do the same posting the battles than are better than both Ash VS Katie and Ash VS Conway, such as Ash VS Gary, Ash VS Harrison, Ash VS Guzma or Ash VS Gladion

Edit: Imagine calling someone retard with low standards just because that person have a different opinion than you.

I count like 6-7 decently good episodes out of the episodes involving Guzma, Gladion and Kukui. That's about half of the episodes and I don't think the former battle is even good. That's about half of the episodes.

In Hoenn I count 5/7 episodes with Katie, Morrison, Tyson + introduction.

Tyson's introduction Episode was pretty Bad, that was a mixed version of both Indigo League introduction (with the Moltres's Flame) and Johto League introduction (with the anime original Character rival), but the Tyson's Meowth backstory was until the episode 2 of the League.
