Name: Dara Radke
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Trainer/Coordinator/Teacher: Trainer
Appearance: Although being 17 years old, Dara is rather short for her age. Her height caps at just 5'0". Her physical body, too, is rather petite and child like, giving off a more cute appearance than it should. Being from Petalburg, her skin has a light complexion, but from time to time, she does sport a tan when she wanders off to the nearby beach. This causes her dirty blond hair to lighten even more, giving it more of a blond tint. Her hair reaches passed her back and stop abruptly, curling inwards. She figures this is because her hair is cut in slight layers. Her bangs touch her eyebrows, but she has no problem seeing through her hair. Two strands of her hair have pink ribbons tied in them, giving her a doll like appearance at times. For her attire, Dara managed to find a suitable school uniform that she liked. Since she was going to an academy, she figured it would be best to dress to the absolute finest. The first layer consist of a blue blazer, three golden buttons to fasten it with. Typically, she doesn't like to wear the blazer unless absolutely necessary, so she substitutes it with a gray sweater vest. Underneath is a white, collared shirt. Instead of a tie, she picked a red ribbon which fastens in the back of the collar. Below, Dara sports a blue mini skirt that reaches just to the middle of her thigh. While her mother complains it is too short, Dara finds it appropriate. Finishing off the private school look, she has a pair of white thigh highs and penny loafer shoes.
If she isn't in her self proclaimed uniform, Dara can usually be seen wearing a white top with ruffled sleeves. Continuing with skirts, she substitutes the blue skirt for a pink one. Instead of white thigh high tights, she wears pink striped ones and "flats" for shoes. Around her wrist is a charm bracelet her mother gave her as a child, which she cherishes dearly. To carry her pokeballs, she has a cute school bag, complete with keychains and all. Inside this bag is her pokegear and a few berries and small items which she keeps in order to travel with. There is also her ID and a few snacks in case she gets hungry. A book on Pokemon is also nestled in there, though she rarely reads it. Regardless of what she is wearing, she always carries around this bag.
Personality: Instead of being calmed and reserved, like her parents tried to entrust her to be, Dara is excitable and slightly obnoxious. Adoring anything cute, Dara is quite the girly girl when it comes to Pokemon and fashion. She has a tendency to point out everything she sees and makes slightly above obvious comments about situations or her observations. Often times, she feels proud she has made these observations, but typically they are of no use to anyone. Serious situations are difficult for her to understand and most of the time, she ruins important moments, often causing people to become annoyed with her. Often more than not, she is clumsy and has a habit of bumping into people and things, sometimes even breaking stuff. This causes her to become extremely embarrassed, often apologizing over and over again in order to sustain for her mishap. While she does enjoy meeting new people, it takes her time to come out of her shell and introduce herself. Easily intimidated, she can only confide to people whom she deems will not scare her.
In battle, Dara is slightly more mature and a better strategist. Putting aside her girly nature, she becomes a bit more intelligent. Since she is competitive by nature, Dara hates to lose. Instead, she uses her best knowledge in order to try to defeat an opponent. Losing is typically not an option for her, but when she does lose, she accepts the loss with dignity. Instead of crying about it, Dara tries to recall what she did wrong and makes slight mental notes on how to better herself and her skills. People who have observed her battling skills are shocked she can manage to change so suddenly from a cute klutz to a strategist. Dara tries to reassure them that she isn't "possessed" or anything crazy, but rather remembers her lessons she was taught by her father, who was a some what above average trainer in his youth. While he never was a champion or anything, he picked up lessons that he taught Dara. In turn, she uses these lessons to her advantage.
History: Dara was born in Kanto, but due to her father's new career as a department store manager, had to move to Hoenn. Her father had given up his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master, instead becoming engaged to Dara's mother and working his way to an executive position at the Celadon Department store. Instead of moving to where the department store of Hoenn was located, Lilycove, her mother insisted on living in somewhere quiet, and her father purchased a house in Petalburg. Her mother had disliked all the hustle of Celadon, from Team Rocket owning the game corner or just too many problems in general. Petalburg, in her opinion, seemed like the best place for young Dara to grow up. However, her father's career caused him to be away from the family from time to time, so Dara spent most of her childhood with her mother. This didn't bother her too much, as her mother was a Pokemon breeder, so Dara spent many years playing with her mother and father's Pokemon. Since her father had been a trainer in his youth, Dara had many Pokemon friends to play with and interact with. Still, she did become quite a social butterfly around Petalburg, befriending many of the children and having adventures with them.
At the age of seven, Dara was playing by the beach near her home when she noticed a strange sight on the beach. Curious, she trotted up shore and noticed it was a Pokemon. A Goldeen had been seriously injured, probably an accident of an angler or fisherman. Not wanting to see the poor Pokemon suffer, Dara rushed the Goldeen to her mother. Her mother also took pity on the poor creature, and the two nursed it back to health. As there was a small lake near her home, it was easy to care for it. Within a few weeks, the Goldeen had completely recovered and Dara released it back into the wild. Her mother was proud of her dedication, phoning her husband to brag about the news. Dara's father was moved by the experience he heard discussed, and decided it was time for Dara to receive her first Pokemon. As her mother was a breeder and her father having caught many Pokemon, Dara was given her first Pokemon, Eevee, to raise as her own.
10 years later, Dara felt she was old enough and more mature to set out on her own adventure. While she was beginning to leave home, she noticed a flier pinned to a telephone pole. It advertised a sort of Pokemon Battle Academy, owned by the Pokemon Champion himself, Lance! Not wanting to waste a second longer, Dara asked her mother and father for permission to head to Slateport in order to attend this academy. Her parents both agreed that this would be a perfect idea, so they set her out on boat so that she would soon realize her potential.
Pokemon:
Species: Eevee (Female)
Nickname: Kyuu
Known attacks:
Tail Whip
Tackle
Sand Attack
Helping Hand
Dig (TM)
Detect (Egg Move)
Personality: Kyuu is a rather feisty Eevee, having been with Dara since she was a baby. Always ready for a battle, Kyuu will always volunteer herself to fight whenever the time comes for it. The bond Kyuu shares with Dara is rather strong, and she is extremely protective over her trainer. Kyuu gets jealous of Dara's other Pokemon easily and will often push the other Pokemon away to get Dara's attention. Eevee doesn't like to be in her Pokeball. Around Kyuu's neck is a pink ribbon with a bell attached to it, given to her by Dara when Kyuu was only a hatch-ling.
Catch History: Eevee was given to Dara as an egg by her parents when she was 7 years old. Dara didn't know what was in the egg, but she thrilled to be able to take care of another Pokemon like she did with Goldeen. The egg hatched and out popped Eevee. As this was her first Pokemon, Dara treated Kyuu with the upmost care and precaution. Kyuu loved to go on adventures, but young Dara was always careful to make sure Kyuu was never harmed in any way.
Pokemon:
Species: Squirtle (Male)
Nickname: Waruta
Known attacks:
Tackle
Tail Whip
Water Gun
Rain Dance (TM)
Hail (TM)
Aqua Jet (Egg Move)
Personality: Waruta seems to have a rivalry with Kyuu as Dara's current strongest Pokemon. Waruta loves to battle and enjoys participating in them. Constantly a show off, Waruta vies for Dara's attention, even more so than Kyuu does. Waruta dreams of becoming a Blastoise one day, and often times tries to mimic them. He hates to lose, and will constantly try to get back up even if the battle is over. Waruta has a strange obsession with riding on Dara's head, evidently to try to get Eevee off her shoulders or out of her arms.
Catch History: When Dara was 15, her father brought her home a birthday present. He told her it was a rare Pokemon from the Kanto region, her place of origin. Instantly excited to see what was inside, Dara opened the box, threw the Pokeball, and there was a Squirtle. Her father explained that he had been good friends with Professor Oak, and that he had allowed him to take home this Squirtle. Thrilled beyond belief, Dara tried to introduce Waruta to her Eevee, but the two didn't seem to get along at all.
Pokemon:
Species: Buneary (Female)
Nickname: Mimi
Known attacks:
Pound
Defense Curl
Endure
Sweet Kiss (Egg Move)
Toxic (TM)
Ice Beam (TM)
Personality: Mimi is Dara's newest Pokemon, and is also the most shy. She typically hides behind Dara's legs and does not prefer to battle. Mimi is easily discouraged, and when she loses, doesn't like to be bothered. It takes Dara coaching and reassuring her to get Mimi back to her normal self. Mimi is also a bit prissy, preferring not to get dirty. If her ears get dirty, especially, Mimi has been known to cry and retreat back to Dara.
Catch History: Dara caught Mimi near her house, taking a short walk right before her depart to Slateport. Mimi was eating some of the berries in Dara's back yard, causing Kyuu to become angry. Instead of attacking it, Dara cooed the Buneary over to her and offered her more berries. Mimi instantly took a liking to Dara and joined her party. Kyuu, on the other hand, didn't take this too lightly and is still rather stand offish to Mimi.
