Pokemon Battle Island Finale!

“Come on Kiki, let’s get a move on!” cried Sy as he was leaving his hotel room, as his best friend, his navy blue Flaffy followed closely behind.

Sy made his way out of the hotel, riding the elevator down to the lobby and picking up a few Pokeballs from the mall. This morning he was planning on capturing the fourth member of his team. He figured it would be nice to have a little more help when the next round of the tournament started. He wasn’t sure what Pokemon he would find, but since the island was crawling with all sorts of different Pokemon, Sy figured it would be a piece of cake finding a cute one.

Sy made his way into the forest, on his way to the beach. He didn’t bother looking too hard in the forest, since a majority of Bug type Pokemon weren’t adorable in the least. He did want strong Pokemon, he just wanted ones that were cute looking too. He started hearing a buzzing noise that had started when he entered the forest, but it was getting louder.

“Kiki, be on your guard. We might have to battle something,” muttered Sy to his Pokemon as he looked around the forest, his eyes darting from tree to tree.

Suddenly, a white flash zipped by Sy and Kiki, knocking the unusually colored Pokemon to the ground.

“Kiki, Signal Beam!” cried Flaffy’s trainer as the white blur rushed in again for an attack.

Flaffy stood up, opened it’s mouth and fired a beam full of color straight from it’s mouth, stopping the thing in it’s tracks. The creature floated back up into the air, revealing it’s true form. It’s body was black, with a blue belly and face, a few yellow stripes, and some kind of red scarf looking thing around it’s neck. Sy recognized this Pokemon as Volbeat. Though it could have been an Illumise, as he always got the two mixed up.

Suddenly, the Bug type put it’s hands together, gathering energy into a small black and purple ball, getting ready to fire at Sy and Kiki.

“Kiki, I think it’s about to use Shadow Ball. Whenever it get’s close enough, hit it head on with Iron Tail!” called Sy.

“Volbeat!” squeaked the small bug.

Kiki braced herself, her tail now glowing strong with steel type energy, waiting for the attack to get close enough. Once it was about four feet away, Kiki jumped toward the attack, swinging her tail at it, causing a small explosion the blew Kiki back a bit.

Volbeat rushed in again, a white trail behind it, obviously using Quick Attack. He rammed into Kiki, sending her to the ground again.

“Kiki must still be tired, she won’t be able to do much more. Kiki, return!” yelled Sy as he pointed her Pokeball at the injured Pokemon.

Sy began reaching for his Pokeball, planning to send Vi out so he could paralyze the annoying bug, but just as he did, another Pokemon shot out of the Pokeball on his left side. Now, before Sy, stood his powerhouse, Jurin the Poliwhirl. The only problem with Jurin was that he didn’t always obey Sy.

Jurin shot an evil look at the Volbeat who was making faces and teasing the Poliwhirl. He had no idea what a huge mistake he just made. Poliwhirl charged, his fist glowing, and slammed down on the bug. Even though Volbeat resisted Fighting types, the Brick Break did a load of damage, and left the Volbeat struggling to get up.

“Jurin, I didn’t give you any commands yet!” cried Sy hopelessly as he watched Poliwhirl wail on Volbeat.

“This is hopeless, he won’t listen. Couldn’t hurt to try though, Ice Beam Jurin!” yelled the frustrated trainer.

Jurin crossed his arms as charged the attack, then once Volbeat charged in with Quick Attack, he let it all out.

Volbeat fell to the ground, a good majority of his chest frozen. He was considering trying to catch the little guy, but he wanted it to be more fair. H saw that it’s antennas were both red, instead of yellow like the normal Volbeat. Sy would remember this and find it again. He’d then capture it in a fair fight, using Kiki of Vi, instead of Jurin who could pummel the life out of it.

“Jurin return,” sighed the annoyed trainer.

“Looks like we’ll have to visit the Pokemon Center now,” he thought aloud as he walked through the forest.

Jack Mariner

The Sun hung lazily in the empty blue sky as Jack casually walked his way along the beach back to the hotel. It was just coming up to midday and forseeing the rest of the afternoon to be a hot one, he had already changed into his orange shorts and sandals previously, giving him a very laid back summery appearance.

He had been out most of the night Training his new Houndour, Hound, whom he recognised due to his young age as the weakest member of his current team. The Dark Pokémon was still out of his pokeball, still full of youthful energy as he playfully scampered this way and that, sniffing out random objects in the sand. Jack smiled approvingly at the progress the canine Pokémon had achieved in training in the dark. His boisterous nature meant that his physical prowess was good but his fire attacks were very much out of control, especially after nasty plotting. By training in the dark, where he was most comfortable himself being a dark Pokémon, Jack hoped to show Hound how erratic his fire attacks were – and it was successful. Within the early hours of the morning on the rocky coastline by the forested isle, Hound had successfully hit 5 targets in a row with his flamethrower, admittedly, unboosted by Nasty plot.

Jack yawned as the hotel came into view. I really shouldn’t stay up most of the night, he thought as he rounded the corner with Hound at his heels looking around inquisitively. As he walked into the courtyard, he couldn’t help but notice the signs that a battle, a very rough battle judging by the scorch marks from fire and lighting. Hound whimpered slightly as he sniffed some of the damage caused.

Jack reached down to give the frightened Pokémon a comforting scratch behind his right ear. “Come on Hound, let’s get inside, I need a nap or some coffee or something...” As they walked up the steps into the lobby, Jack noticed a large crowd of people with all their bags, looking like they were setting out to leave the Island.

And the tournament wasn’t even finished yet! Thought Jack in surprise. Jack headed over to the receptionist and asked politely what all the fuss was about.

The receptionist, a youngish guy in his middle 20s looked at Jack like he was an oversized Muk for a moment before letting his mouth drop open slightly. “You don’t know? Where have you been sir?” he said incredulously. “Last night, the Hotel was attacked by a strange shadow like Pokémon which defeated many of the trainers here last night. Everyone’s a little scared, some, as you see sir more than others and are heading home rather than staying, especially the ones who are already out of the tournament.”

“What Pokémon did you say it was again?”

“No one knows sir. It seemed to be made of some dark gaseous substance so I’m told. Eventually the combined force of the trainers here managed the send it on its way but it kept changing shape from what I’ve heard...” The Receptionist paused with a slight worried frown. “Will you be leaving as well sir?” Jack looked slightly bemused and shook his head and the receptionist gave a look of relief. “Well, if you want sir, would you like your room to be upgraded for free? We have a lot more spaces now if you would like to...?”

Jack grinned. “Sure, that would be cool”

“Ok then sir, We shall move all your luggage for you, if you just come and ask me later on what your new room is, I’ll give you your new key.” Jack handed over his old key before setting off for the cafe.

“Since I currently don’t have a room at the moment Hound, I think a Coffee on the Beach is in order?” Hound barked playfully and followed after his trainer.

Jamie was walking cheerily towards the Pokémon centre and he noticed that there were 3 men all working on fixing the electric glass door’s which was the entrance to the Hotel and all of its facilities. It took him no more than one extra second to then notice one of his best friends on the island was running over to him, she was wearing her orange sun glasses which Jamie loved and he smiled to her as she came closer.

“Jamie, Jamie you'll never believe what I finally caught!" She was yelling as she tucked her Pikachu up in her arms, she seemed to be extremely happy and the glowing smile of excitement shun from her face. Jamie was glad that she had caught a Pokémon as she was the last competitor in the tournament who had not already caught at least two new Pokémon by the end of round one of the tournament. He held up the pokeball in his hand and winked at her.

“That’s awesome Alice! But hey check this out too, I caught a new Pokémon as well” He told her and deciding that he would show her his new Gyarados and she could then show him her new Pokémon he decided to let the Pokémon out of its pokeball. “Alice let me introduce you to my super awesome new water Pokémon, come out!” As he called the last two words he threw the ball into the air and a big flash of white light shot down, but it didn’t seem to be the size Jamie expected from a Gyarados, it seemed a lot smaller than he remembered. The beam of white light condensed itself into one small shape on the floor at Jamie’s feet, this surprised him since he remembered the Gyarados to be at least 5 times as tall as him.

“Luvdisc!” the Pokémon called out as the light finally faded to reveal the Pokémon in its original form, standing on the floor in front of Jamie was his new water Pokémon, a tiny Luvdisc. Jamie took a second to think of how this could happen, he had definitely battled a large blue and white Gyarados, then he remembered that before the battle started he did see a small pink patch under the water and that was about where his pokeball was when he opened his eyes, he had shut them when he threw the ball urging it forward so he hadn’t actually SEEN the Gyarados go into the ball but he had assumed.

“Luvdisc!” The little Pokémon happily cried as it smiled up at Jamie and Alice and it made a few little bounces.

Alice stood, slightly stunned at the appearance of the small pink Pokemon before chancing a glance at Jamie, who seemed to be avoiding her gaze a little.

"Er, Jamie," she said slowly, popping the sunglasses onto the top of her head. Was this a trick of the light? She had to make sure. But no, even with her own eyes the Pokemon in front of her was still a Luvdisc. "I don't know about you, but I think our opinions on 'super-awesome-water-Pokemon' are a little different, because this doesn't exactly fit my description, no offense or anything of course. I mean, it's adorable, but..." She trailed off, watching as the Luvdisc bounced around their feet.

Jamie definitely had an odd assortment of Pokemon at his disposal, nothing Alice had never seen before, but definitely not the typically strong Pokemon that were often brought to competitions such as this. She knew there was one kid on the island with a growing team of soon-to-be powerful Pokemon and could easily wipe her out (although perhaps with her new Pokemon things would get better).

"Oh, that reminds me, Jamie," Alice said, snapping her eyes back up to her friend and pulling a Poke Ball off of her charm bracelet. It had been a bought in the gift shop and the multi-coloured beads matched perfectly on Alice's dress. It was designed for holding the Poke Balls of those who did not wear belts or other means of carrying Poke Balls. The sales clerk had assured Alice that the Poke Balls could not simply fall off and if they did she would receive a full refund and then some (which was good because Alice's stash of money had definitely dropped some after the purchase of the bracelet).

With a smile, she tossed the Poke Ball high into the air, watching as it snapped open and let lose a torrent of bright white light. As the light took form it began to distinguish the figure of the Vulpix Alice caught; the split tail, the curled hair on its head, the dainty paws. As the light faded and returned to the auburn colour of its hair, Alice's new Vulpix yawned sleepily and looked around, taking in its surroundings carefully.

"And there you have it," Alice said proudly as her Pikachu clambered onto her shoulders. "The newest addition to my team."

Damn girls. I'll show that I don't need Pokémon to make a good capture!

Kyle raced through the forest, vaulting over fallen logs and branches, keeping a close eye out for Pokémon as he did. The sisters' actions had angered him, sure, but that had just made his blood boil. It presented him with a challenge, and there was no way that he could turn that down! Now he just needed to find some spectacular Pokémon to catch that would not only blow those two out of the water, but also give him a leg up on the competition. To do that, he needed to go deep into the forest, where the strongest Pokémon in the area lived.

It didn't take him long; just as he was slowing down to a jog, Kyle saw a rustle in a nearby tree, cuing him to dive behind a bush to observe. Staying as concealed as possible with his bright red-orange hair sticking out, Kyle watched as the tree continued to shake, dropping a handful of purple berries with each vibration. It rustled twice more, then a greenish-blue, round body fell from the branches above, bouncing off the ground once before coming to a thudding landing on the ground. The Pokémon then picked itself up, showing stubby arms and legs and a very round head, and gathered up the berries on the ground in its arms before moving away slothfully.

A Munchlax! Kyle thought to himself, praising his luck. That would do great! Munchlax were pretty rare in the wild, after all, and when it evolved, a Snorlax would be a solid addition to his team. This was a perfect opportunity! Smirking to himself, Kyle crawled around the foliage on the ground and walked carefully after the Munchlax, making sure not to snap anything under himself and keeping the young Pokémon in his sights at all times. Soon enough, the Munchlax quit moving, sitting down at a spot right near the edge of a ditch and laying out the pile of fruits and nuts it had gathered. Thinking this to be as good of an opportunity as he was going to get, Kyle leapt out from behind the bushes, lobbing a Pokéball at the creature as he did. The Munchlax had just enough time to turn around and face him before being sucked into the ball as red light. The ball dropped to the ground and began twitching erratically. Kyle clenched his fists as he watched it wobble once...

It was no good; the ball burst back open, now unusable and releasing a very noisy Pokémon, who proceeded to dash down the slope and out of view. Kyle muttered a few choice words and chased the Munchlax, but stopped short as he reached the edge of the ditch. He stood, mouth agape as he saw why exactly the Munchlax had chosen to retreat there; it was already whining very loudly and tugging at the arm of a fully-grown Snorlax.

Its mother?

Nope. Father. Given the depth of the growling it was giving off, it was definitely a male Snorlax. And now it was sitting up on its own, slowly turning to look down at the Munchlax. It was odd; Snorlax really didn't wake up that often; only when the got hungry, or if they or their cubs were under threat. Either of the last two would make a Snorlax dangerously grumpy.

Oh. Hi there, Grumpy.

Kyle stood frozen to the spot, his mind blanking out in a moment of shock as over 450 kilos of angry Pokémon approached him, swinging its paws blindly. As it got nearer to him, something clicked in Kyle's mind.

That's right. I should probably run.

With that instinct shouting in his mind, Kyle scrambled backwards, barely dodging a swipe from the raging beast and breaking into a sprint directly away from the danger. He could still hear the massive Snorlax roaring and stomping after him, snapping branches and cracking logs with ease. He kept running as hard as he could, but as he hurdled a fallen tree, he heard the rumbling suddenly grow much louder. Daring a glance over his shoulder, Kyle saw a massive ball of blue and tan rolling at him at a high speed. He leaped to the side, barely avoiding the attack. Still on his guard, Kyle stood himself up and watched carefully where the Snorlax had disappeared. If he knew this move right, it was Rollout, which meant that it would be coming back...

Surely enough, the Snorlax returned, this time with greater speed, but Kyle was prepared and jumped out of the way again, causing it to miss and collide with a tree. In turn, in the middle of his dodge, his foot caught on a limb and sent him crashing to the ground, causing the wounds on his lower back to erupt in pain. Kyle rolled over to get a better view above, only to see that the Snorlax was literally pushing trees aside, bending them out of shape just to reach him. He scurried away from the tree that had caught his leg, but couldn't stand before the Snorlax bought a paw down, leaving deep gashes on the log next to him and missing his face by less than a foot. Kyle tried as hard as he could to squirm away, but he could see the blows coming. Snorlax reared up to take another swipe at the trainer, then...

The massive Pokémon stopped, apparently having heard something. Kyle looked around frantically, his eyes finally catching on a small bell that had fallen out of his backpack in the struggle. A Soothe Bell, if he remembered correctly. Yes, that could be just what he needed! Without hesitation, Kyle snatched up the bell and threw it as hard as he could away from himself, making sure not to hit the Snorlax. It fell to the ground a good twenty feet away, making a chiming sound again. The wild Pokémon's ears twitched, and it immediately stopped its assault, instead now investigating the source of the calming noise with a great curiosity. Kyle sighed with relief, finally able to stand again. Then he realized something.

This was his opportunity.

Kyle quickly stuck a hand in his bag, feeling around for the right item. He didn't have to rummage long before pulling out a Pokéball with a dark gray top rather than red, and lined just above the opening with dull blue hemispheres. The Heavy Ball was the perfect tool to capture something as enormous and heavy as a Snorlax. Taking careful aim while the massive Pokémon was still distracted, Kyle threw the ball, hoping that this capture would work - if it didn't, the Snorlax was probably going to come charging back at him. He watched intently as the ball shook violently, then slowly came to a shaking halt, offering a satisfying "click" to confirm his capture.

Relieved, Kyle approached the ball and picked it up, waiting for the thought to sink in. He had just narrowly avoided another trip to the hospital, managed to subdue a raging Snorlax and even caught the darned thing. Worst of all, it was all because of the off chance that he had been carrying something as trivial as a Soothe Bell with him. Whoever said those things were only useful for happiness-based evolution? Chuckling to himself, Kyle attached the Pokéball to his belt and began strolling back toward the forest entrance at a leisurely pace.

That'll show 'em.

Stella in her green bikini continued to watch her Pokemon train as she looked and focused on each of them which included her Roselia, Starly, Pineco and Skitty. However as they continued, Stella wondered about the figure of a person near her, she noticed it but it seemed like it never moved. Stella wondered if it was best to train somewhere else because that figure was quite annoying, freaky and worrisome to her and her Pokemon in her opinion. "I wonder where I can go" she thought as she looked at the map she downloaded on her Pokemon Communicator.

The looked and studied the map. "Well the floral fields sound nice" she said to herself while examining what it seemed like, she looked at her Pokemon straight after "Alright guys, return because we are going travelling" Stella said as she returned all four of her Pokemon. She packed up her umbrella and decided it would be easy for her to drop it off and leave but then she realised that she was in a bikini. "What do I do" she thought as just like that, her eyes lit up, she had an idea. Stella got the beach towel and wrapped around the bottom half of her body as she smiled knowing that her idea actually worked.

She in a white/blue beach towel around her waist and down to her legs along with her green bikini and her long straight dark red hair decided to exit the beach with her umbrella. She entered the Pokemon Center with a few cat calls which made her smile and blush due to the awkwardness of the situation. She quickly left and finally after a decent amount of walking reached the floral fields. "Alright here we are guys" she said releasing her four Pokemon which looked around and enjoyed the scenery. "Time to train, just have fun and play with each other to cool down or something like that" she said as she sat down in the flower area and started to hum very sweetly.

After a few minutes of humming, a noise was made. Stella stopped humming straight away and looked around. She didn't see anything "Must have been my imagination...huh?" she thought but that was interrupted by the sight of an Eevee. "Awww it is so cute" she said as she decided she wanted it now "Who should I use" Stella thought as she looked at the Eevee and all her other Pokemon "Alright Starly, lets go" she said as her Starly flew up to her to face the Eevee. "Starly use Quick Attack" she ordered as the Black and white bird flew very quickly and hit the Eevee. The Eevee attacked back using tackle "Dominate this, use Double team and follow it up with Wing Attack" Stella quickly ordered as Starly right on cue dodged the attack and attacked back using its wings. The Eevee managed to dodge at least some part of the attack and only took some percentage of damage of the full attack. It also decided to use tackle on the Starly which it did hit but Starly managed to endure some part of it.

"Alright I think one more Wing Attack would do it" Stella ordered as Starly nodded, it in rapid speed hit Eevee with its glowing wings. Eevee fainted as Stella kissed a new Pokeball and threw it at the Eevee. It went in but the wait just started, the ball wobbled from side to side for a while as Stella nervously looked "Please, please, come on" she pleaded with herself and finally it stopped, she had caught the Eevee but knowing that it was very tired after battling Starly, Stella knew that she could not have used it as the same applied to her Starly. "Great Job, Starly" she said returning it as the other Pokemon relaxed in the field near Stella she placed the two Pokeballs in her purse and she started to hum again.

"Ki-chan! Get back here!" Azusa called out.

The little Buneary was nowhere to be seen. Apparently it had had some sort of idea, and that idea had had something to do with the forest. As a result of its sometimes-adorable, sometimes-frustrating scatter brain, it had apparently thought that that served as a perfectly good excuse for giving a small cry, a hand signal, and a quick double hop before darting off into the trees. As a result, Azusa now found herself wandering the woods looking for the bunny.

She sighed, Kiiro could be really cute sometimes, but was it really worth all the worry? Azusa was sure that there needed to be some kind of equivalent exchange going on here. She turned to Kuroi, who was still floating beside her.

"Any sight of her?" she asked.

Kuroi pantomimed looking, with one hand over the eye-holes of his mask, before shaking his head and giving the universal "I donno..." gesture by raising what passed as his shoulders.

Azusa sighed again. Desperate times called for desperate measures after all. She pulled a pokeball out of her bright green side bag and tossed it into the air. The ball popped open with a flash of light, revealing a little blue sea slug. The East Sea Shellos sat still, facing away from Azusa.

"Alright Mizu, we need to..." Azusa started before trailing off. Something was off. "Mizu?"

A small snore came from Mizu, and the Shellos promptly fell over. As soon as his head hit the forest floor, he bolted upright, suddenly awake. He looked around franticly before spotting Azusa and finally managed to at least look determined and alert.

Azusa sighed again. How many times had she sighed today? Seven? Eight? She was wondering just how long this day was going to turn out to be. Then again, Mizu had looked pretty funny. She couldn't decide if she wanted to scold him or laugh, so she just decided to ignore it for now.

"Alright Mizu, Ki-chan ran off into the woods here, and I need to find her quick, while we still have time to train. So..." here it comes. Azusa knew exactly how to get him to work hard. "I was thinking that if you could find her quickly, I'll find you a nice snack later. Maybe something with Kelpsy Berries..."

Instantly, Mizu sprang form a false attention to a very real one. The little Shellos nodded and took off into the woods as fast as his lack of legs could take him, was was actually pretty fast all things considered.

"Quick, after him. We don't want to lose him too!" Azusa said as she and Kuroi took off after Mizu. With any luck, they'd be able to get some kind of training in today. It was probably too late to go down to the beach, but perhaps she would be able to do a practice battle with one of the other trainers on the island or something. If nothing else, they could just try to take down a few wild ones.

Sophi so silleh~
Sophi yawned as she walked around the island with her Pokémon. Walking besides of her was her Doduo, the two planning to train together up in the mountainous area. They had spelt the good half of a morning just lazing around outside of the Pokémon centre, that they really needed to get back to training. The girl grunted as she stopped to lean against a tree. "Shay, let's rest a moment,"

"Do," The male head said as it prodded his beak against Sophi's flat stomach.

"I am not!" Sophi disagreed. She completely understood what the male head of her Doduo was saying.

"Du, Do," The female head said, gently pecking against the male head. It was clearly disciplining the other head. The male head obviously understood and drooped it's head until Sophi gently carresssed the side of it's head as it nuzzled back.

"It's alright Shay, come on let's continue up the...ouch!" Sophi exclaimed as she jumped back from the tree. Stepping towards her Doduo had meant that she had stepped on something. Looking down she saw that she had stepped on something's tail, and judging by the feel she felt of electricity, she could tell right away it was a Pokémon she stepped on.

Whatever it was hustled back into the bushes quickly. But she saw that whatever Pokémon it was, was moving shakily. Sophi beleived the Pokémon was injured and felt it was partly her fault.

"Shay, let's get you back in," She said recalling her Doduo, instead sending out her Rattata. "You better listen to me this time, help me find whatever Pokémon that was. The Rattata grunted but nodded, leading Sophi off through the bushes.

Sy continued walking through the forest. He had now called out Vi, so he would have a traveling partner. Kiki was too exhausted from the battle, and Jurin wasn’t much company. He’d probably drag the trip to the Pokemon Center out anyway, attacking every Pokemon he saw. Vi was walking as he usually did, each foot in front of the other as he trotted down the trail, his arms spread to his sides. He was just a baby, and easily distractible, glancing every which way he heard even a slight noise.

“Having fun Vi?” asked Sy with a chuckle.

“Mi, mime!” cried the baby Mime. Jr ecstatically.

Once they arrived at the beach, they felt the heat of the sun more so then in the forest, due to the lack of trees on the beach. It felt amazing out, and Sy was determined to get some training in, if not a battle with someone after his trip to the Pokemon Center. Sy hadn’t really talked to many of the trainers, yet alone made friends with anyone on the island besides Jurin and Vi. He figured he could find a friendly trainer to battle with and perhaps become acquainted with another Human on the island.

Once he walked though the sliding doors of the Pokemon Center, he felt the air conditioning hit him face first, feeling great on his body. He walked up to the counter, Kiki’s Pokeball in his hand, and handed it to the pink haired lady behind it.

“How long should it be Nurse Joy? She seemed exhausted in a battle with a Volbeat in the forest, and she got a good night’s rest and everything. I’m not sure what was wrong,” said Sy, a slight worry to his voice.

“Well, I’m sure she’s fine, but we’ll check her out to make sure. I’d say maybe two hours, three at the most,” said Nurse Joy with a smile.

“Sounds great, I’ll be back then,” called the blue Flaffy’s trainer as he exited the Pokemon Center, waving to the Nurse as he did so.

“Alright Vi, How about we find someone to battle?” said Sy, searching over the beach for a worthy opponent.

Kim Staar: Battle Island Forest

“Ugh, we’re getting nowhere,” Kim moaned. Standing beside a tree, she called her Pokémon back for a break. So far, their search had been completely useless. Sure they had found some wild Pokémon and got a bit of training in, yet they could not find any clues about the mystery creature. Kim sighed and pulled out a water bottle, thinking, maybe there’s some sorta connection between when the monster appeared and something else. Like, the staff was repairing the place where it came from or… whatever.

“Ok guys, let’s keep looking.” Sear set her nose to work, trying to sniff out anything suspicious. Beaches sat on Kim’s head, looking in the opposite direction should something come up from behind. Ace climbed his way into the trees and stealthily scouted from there. This was how they had been walking through the forest since they left the beach and so far, they only thing they found was wild Pokémon.

“Grr-ruff!” Sear woofed from the ground. Her head lifted, she began sniffing the air and walking like a Spinda.

“Didja find something girl?” Sear glared at her trainer’s baby talk, but nodded as she continued to smell. Ace came down from the trees to join them and stood at alert. Kim felt Beaches stiffen on her head. Suddenly, Sear began to growl. There was something to the right of that path that only she could detect. But, soon they all heard whatever it was crashing through the bushes towards them.

“Get ready guys. Sear gets it if it’s a wild Pokémon,” Kim quietly commanded her teammates. They all watched the tree line, but suddenly, the noise came from farther up the path. Sear barked sharply and dashed into the bushes after it. There were muffled noises from Sear and some from an unknown creature before one was suddenly thrust onto the pathway.

“Buuun…” the Bunnery moaned. Oh thank God it’s not that shadowy beast. As soon as Sear jumped out of sight, Kim had that awful thought of her Growlithe being ripped to shreds. But, Sear hopped out of the brush looking unharmed. She growled at the bunny Pokémon and circled around to stand beside her trainer.

“Well, go ahead. I said the next wild Pokémon was yours.” Kim had a habit of allowing her Pokémon to train as they wished to see how they preferred to use their attacks and maybe find some amazing tactics to use in battle. But, Sear refused to battle.

“Growl, growlithe.” Ace and Beaches had understood, but not being a Pokémon, Kim didn’t. Her Minun fished around in Kim’s bag, pulling out a Pokéball. Then he pointed at the Bunnery and back at the Pokéball.

“Umm… You want me to catch it?”

“Mi mi! Mi minun.”

“…OH! I get it! This Pokémon already has a trainer, right?” Beaches smiled successfully and approached the Bunnery curiously, offering a paw. The Bunnery smiled back and jumped up playfully. It grabbed Beaches’ paws and began jumping in a circle with him. Wow. It looks pretty happy for being lost. Wait a second...

“Hey Sear, how’d you know this Bunnery has a trainer?” Her Growlithe snuffed, as if sneezing, on Kim’s pant leg. “You don’t have to be rude about it.” So she could smell the other trainer. Well, I guess we’d better return it…

“Do ya think you can sniff out where it’s trainer is?” Sear looked at her as if saying ‘who do you take me for?’ “Okay then. Ace, Beaches, return. Would you like it if we helped you find your trainer?” Kim kindly asked the Bunnery. It looked at her with cute eyes.

“Bun bunn!!” It hopped up and danced around Kim and Sear. Taking that as a yes, Sear got a good whiff of what Bunnery’s trainer smelled like and turned around, nose to the ground.

“Ugh, we’re getting nowhere!” Kim stood in the middle of the path as Sear sniffed the surroundings. This was not the first time she was unsure of where the trail went. Well I shouldn’t have assumed it would be easy. Maybe we ought to just go back to the hotel and leave it with the staff…

“Okay, let’s start heading back. Maybe we’ll run into your trainer on the way out…” The Bunnery made a sad noise, but soon skipped happily ahead of them. Well, at least one of us is thinking positively.

Jamie blinked a lot of times and he wasn’t sure how long he stood there with a blank look on his face, he finally shook his head in time to see Alice throw a poke ball into the air. The poke ball span and popped open and the usual and commonplace flash of white light appeared and after a few short seconds the light took form into that of the pokemon that it contained.

"And there you have it," She said rather proudly, the yellow electric pokemon that was in her arms now climbed up to her shoulder and smiled. "The newest addition to my team." Jamie got the impression she was very proud of herself and looking down at the ground to see what pokemon she had caught he saw another pink pokemon sitting less than a foot away from his own pink pokemon Luvdisc. Alice’s new Vulpix was in the middle of a yawn when he looked down at it and he couldn’t help but think it was cute, his sister back home had a Vulpix and he was rather fond of the pokemon.

“That’s a really cool and beautiful pokemon Alice, congratulations!” He said after shaking his head a little to try and recover from the disappointing capture of Luvdisc and not the Gyarados he expected. “And well, I know my Luvdisc doesn’t look like much but Im sure it has a lot of err…” he wasn’t sure what to say but he wanted to reassure himself just as much as he wanted to convince Alice it was a good pokemon. “potential” he finished and the Luvdisc looked up at him and blinked blankly then smiled gently, Jamie had to admit that Luvdisc was incredibly adorable.

He smiled back and leant down and offered Luvdisc his arm to jump into and stroked gently the chin of Alices new pokemon Vulpix. As he rose to his feet he turned to the bridge leading to wild island. “I think I might go into wild island for some training and check out the waterfall, It would be good to try and teach my Luvdisc here a few new tricks” He smiled at the pink heart shaped pokemon and then looked into Alice’s eye’s. “Do you wanna come with?” he asked kindly.

Alice contemplated the offer before shaking her head. "You know, I don't think I will," she replied. "I think Pikachu probably wants to relax by the ocean and I can take the time to try and figure out this new Vulpix and contemplate what else I want to catch on the island. I saw a flock of Swablu the other day and thought that one might make a good edition to the slowly growing team." She flashed Jamie her trademark ten-thousand watt smile before making her way along the path towards the turn-off that would take her to the beach.

Between the sand and the surf and the smell of the salty sea air, Alice had never felt more at home. She had grown up in Sunnyshore City and although she never once regretted coming to the island, she did feel a pang of longing for it. Still, she was here to win, and that was that.

Up ahead, Alice could make out a figure standing alone the shoreline. He looked older than Alice (like everyone she had met on the island) but from this far away she couldn't tell much about him. Casually, she strode down the beach, her flip flops kicking up sand into the back of her sundress.

Closer up, Alice could tell that like herself, the boy had dark black hair that seemed to glitter a dark blue colour in the sunlight that made Alice think of Archie comics and Veronica. He was pale too, and it gave the Asian a great conversation starter.

"Would you like some sunscreen?" she asked as she strode up, her hand flying to her bag and pulling out a tube of the sun protector. "You look like you could use it. You don't want to burn." Her Pikachu slid down her arm with the grace of someone who slid down the banisters at home often and landed gracefully on the sand, dipping his paws jubilantly in the water.

OOC@Skillfullness: No, its alright. I was hoping to run into someone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Mizu ran off into the forest with determination, eager to find Kiiro if for no other reason than to claim his tasty reward. You know, not that he was actually worried about the Buneary's safety or anything what with that shape shifting thing out here somewhere.

Finally, Mizu stopped and pointed off into a patch of bushes. Confused, Azusa stopped and waited for a moment. When nothing seemed to happen, she turned towards Mizu expectantly. Still nothing happened.

"Are you sure you didn't get lost or something?" she asked.

Mizu nodded quickly, and kept indicating the bushes ahead. Azusa stared ahead for a moment and was about to ask Mizu again when she became aware of a rustling in the bushes.

She reflexively took a step back, Mizu doing the same. Instead of a shadowy monster though, what appeared from the undergrowth was a Growlithe. Confused, the trainer simply stared at the fire-type for a moment before a girl came out of the bushes too, followed by her Buneary, Kiiro.

"Ki-chan!" Azusa called as Ki-chan did the same. The little Buneary rushed over towards Azusa and returned the hug before hopping around excitedly. Mizu simply stood proudly, as though expecting praise and a treat for his hard work. Instead, Azusa turned towards the new girl.

"Thank you so much for looking after Ki-chan for me." Azusa said. "Is there anything I can do to repay you?"

Mizu nudged Azusa's leg expectantly.

"You did good too Mizu, and I'll have a good poffin waiting when we get back."

Satisfied, Mizu returned to being his usual spacey self.

Kim Staar: Battle Island Forest

Kim sighed again as Sear thought she caught a scent of Bunnery’s trainer. Sear sniffed vigorously and zigzagged across the path. Kim was just about ready to stop her Growlithe and go back to the main path, but she suddenly crashed into the bushes.

“Hey! Sear! Uhg. Come on Bunnery, let’s go.” Kim pushed her way through the shrubbery, making sure Bunnery made its way through too. Sear’s creamy white tail bobbed ahead of her, but while pulling back a branch, the tail was gone. Oh great, I’ve lost a Pokémon and I’ve got a lost Pokémon. Kim stopped in the middle of the forest for a split second, then she pushed on in the direction she thought Sear had been going.

The ground under feet was completely smooth and not covered with small plants, so she knew she was back on a path. Looking up, she saw a girl about her age along with a Duskull and blue Shellos. I could never tell the difference between north and south, or east and west or whatever. Sear was sitting just at the edge of the path, waiting for Kim. When Bunnery came out of the forest behind her…

“Ki-chan!” The girl happily cried. Her Bunnery bounced over and gave its trainer a big hug. Kim sighed, but smiled successfully. She stood next to her Growlithe as trainer and Pokémon united.

“Thank you so much for looking after Ki-chan for me. Is there anything I can do to repay you?” the girl asked kindly.

“Oh, uhh. I couldn’t, really. It was kinda fun to have your Pokémon with us anyway. But…” Kim just had a great idea, “If you really wanted to, thank us, somehow, would you like to have a battle? Oh wait! I should introduce myself first! I’m Kim Staar and this is Sear, my partner before Battle Island. I also have two other Pokémon, Ace and Beaches, a Scyther and Minun, respectively. So yeah. You up for a battle?”

Sy looked over at the girl that was now standing next to him. She was shorter than him, had a tad more color to her skin, and seemed to be Asian. Her Pokemon, a Pikachu, slid down her arms, trotted across the sand of the beach, and splashed in the water playfully.

“I guess it couldn’t hurt to use some,” he said, taking the bottle from her hand, squeezing a small amount out and rubiing it onto his face.

“So I take it you’re a trainer?” asked Sy. He was hoping for a yes, since he wanted an actual battle against a real trainer, “How are you liking the island?”

As he kept looking at her, waiting for an answer, Vi waltzed over to the tide of the ocean, and began splashing water at the Pikachu, who seemed to be having fun with it’s new playmate. A smirk appeared across his face as he continued watching his Pokemon make friends with the girls Pokemon.

Alice waited patiently as the boy took her sunscreen, applying a little to his face. She took the tube back with a smile and dropped it into her bag.

“So I take it you’re a trainer?” he asked. “How are you liking the island?”

Alice nodded in reply to the first question. "The island's great," she gushed. "There's plenty to do when you're not battling, loads of Pokemon to train against and capture and if you want to relax, the beach is great. It's just so peaceful, even with everyone running around. This is definitely the best place I've ever been." She contemplated asking his opinion but decided on a different approach.

"I'm Alice, by the way," she said, extending a hand. "Alice Jerkins. Why don't you tell me a little bit more about yourself over a Pokemon Battle, just for fun of course. I just caught a new Pokemon and I need to see how she fares in battle before I throw her out into the battle dome." She laughed a moment, studying the boy. She knew that trainers were not technically supposed to decline a challenge (something about a code), but many still did. However, if this boy lived up to the 'code' then he didn't really have much of a choice.

As powerful as Alice's Pikachu may be (quite, in fact), a full team of Pokemon would be needed to take the tournament by storm. Alice was highly aware of the fact that she had surprised a lot of her opponents with the fact that her Pikachu had blown them all away, but she didn't mind being a threat. It just meant she would be able to catch people off guard when she surprised them.

~ Azusa Yamagishi - Forest ~

“Oh, uhh. I couldn’t, really. It was kinda fun to have your Pokémon with us anyway. But…” the girl paused, as though she had an idea, “If you really wanted to, thank us, somehow, would you like to have a battle? Oh wait! I should introduce myself first! I’m Kim Staar and with is Sear, my partner before Battle Island. I also have two other Pokémon, Ace and Beaches, a Scyther and Minun, respectively. So yeah. You up for a battle?”

At the mention of a battle, Azusa couldn't help but grin. She had been worried that her team wasn't going to get any training in today, but now that was going to change. "Alright, I'm up for it. Sounds like a good way to get some training in."

Azusa nodded to Kuroi, who nodded back. Azusa held out her hand to the new girl. "My names Yama..." she shook her head. That's right, it was given name first here. "Sorry, My name's Azusa Yamagishi."

She pointed to her two pokemon. "This is Kuroi, and the Shellos down there is Mizu." Kuroi gave a bow, like a butler or something, while Mizu completely ignored everyone around him. "I've also got a Tangela named Midori, and of course you've already met Ki-chan."

The Buneary gave a happy little hop at the mention of her name.

"So, what are the rules? How many pokemon should we use?" Azusa asked.

Kyle sighed as he wandered through the forest, ambling toward the nearest clearing he could find. He had grown used to the forest over spending more than a week on the island, but his encounter with the Snorlax had disoriented him and driven him off the usual paths into an area of the woods that he wasn't familiar with. Not only that, but the trees overhead were thick enough throughout the forest that he couldn't use the nearby mountain as a landmark. His best bet now was to just head in one direction until he reached the forest's edge.

It didn't take long; after less than ten minutes, Kyle climbed one final hill and came to a point where the trees thinned out and gave way to the massive field of tall grass and vivid flowers overtaking the east side of the island. Looking around quickly, he caught sight of the nearby volcano on the north island, then used it to determine the way he needed to be going. After about five steps toward his next destination, however, he had the sudden idea to check the time and pulled the Pokégear out of his pocket.

Eighteen minutes until the meeting time. Plenty enough for a battle.

Speaking of which...

As Kyle came over a small hill, he saw a readheaded young woman in a swimsuit and beach towel, lazing about with what looked like a a Roselia, a Pineco and a Skitty. Impulsively, Kyle took this opportunity and threw himself down the hill, barely keeping himself from tripping forward and he skidded to a stop at the bottom.

"Hey, you! You up for a battle?" Kyle shouted, smirking and overly eager to give the Snorlax a "field test".

Vintage much?
Stella was lazing around with her Pokemon while wearing a green bikini and a purple beach towel around her waist down in the floral plains that were beautiful she thought and had a great spot to chill, relax and lie down with her Pokemon. "Life is good" she thought as she closed her eyes and smiled while her Pokemon were playing around nearby in the close vicinity. She loved resting in nature because it let her relax and just be more calm and fun loving but she wouldn't have seen what was to happen next.

"Hey, you! You up for a battle?" said a voice and Stella jumped wide awake and only responded with a simple "huh?" while straight after letting out a yawn. "Oh battle, ummm that's a nice way of asking" she exclaimed as the redhead looked at the male who did scare her stiff while smirking "I guess I could battle, I don't see why not ummm" she said trying to think of more things to say as she got up.

"Before we battle, I'm Stella" said the redhead flicking her hair and smiling "Who are you?" she asked as she placed her finger on her bottom lip as she was also thinking if she ever does for which Pokemon she was going to use "Umm I guess I will use Pineco" she slowly said as her Roselia jumped ready for battle "Or maybe I guess Roselia" Stella remarked smiling without any malice or thoughts with it. Her Roselia was in a battle pose and Stella did look a bit amused and confused "I guess she is ready, funny but so awesome" the redhead mentioned as she waited for the response of the male who scared her earlier.

Sophi so silleh~
Sophi quickly glanced around and saw nobody around but the Pokémon she was chasing wasn't too far away. She felt a little more confident that nobody would yet see her Rattata's special attacks. "Alright then, Ra-Tear BubbleBeam!" Her small purple rodent jumped up into the air and got a better aim at the escaping Pokémon, firing off a fast moving stream of bubbles. The attack collided with some force and knocked the Pokémon off balance. Sophi at first thought she had seriously injured the Pokémon with how it seemed to wobble. It looked about to turn...but fell over into a nearby bush. Sophi felt an odd wave fly out from the bush as the Pokémon hovered back out, finally revealing itself as a Pachirisu. Sophi gasped as she saw the condition of one of it's feet looking horribly damaged.

But the Pokémon was angry, it rolled into a ball and threw itself down in a rapidly spinning ball and crashed into Rattata, knocking it back closer to Sophi's feet. "Ra-Tear...I feel bad for fighting."

"Rat!" Her Pokémon screamed angrily at his trainer and began running, covering itself in a firey aura and jumping up, colliding into the Pachirisu's stomach. The Pachirisu cringed but Rattata was showing no signs of stopping, Sophi did what she thought best and threw a Pokéball. The ball absorbed the Pachirisu in just before her Rattata would have hit it with another FlameWheel. Sophi simply felt happy she stopped her Rattata hurting it any further. She recalled her Rattata and glanced around, she had expected the Pachirisu to have popped back out, but there was no sign of it. She looked down and saw the Pokéball, deciding she had better hurry back to the Pokémon Centre with it.
