(OOC: Okay, time to get this thing moving again....)

Kyle clenched both his fists as he watched Swellow feebly try to get back up into a position to fly. After he rolled back over and fluttered his wings feebly for several seconds, Kyle saw that it was a hopeless proposition to make Swellow keep fighting. Quickly returning him to his Quick Ball to save him any further damage, Kyle turned his attention back to Cyndaquil and Voltorb. They were barely succeeding in holding off the Regirock (or whatever it really was), and could only slow down its movement a little. This was hopeless!

No, Kyle thought, there's gotta be a way.

"C'mon! You can do this!" Kyle yelled. Cyndaquil and Voltorb seemed to take to these words and kept to their best effort, but the strange Pokémon was still advancing. Kyle clenched his teeth. He didn't want to call in a retreat....

And he wouldn't have to. Suddenly, a flurry of leaves came from behind him and assaulted the creature. Though it wasn't doing much, it was helping, at least. Kyle turned his head around to see a red-headed teen girl and her Chikorita burst out from the bushes, ready to help in their assault. So there were trainers with spines in this tournament! Even as she came up to add her Razor Leaf to Cyndaquil and Voltorb's sustained attacks, another girl came up from behind on the other side of Jamie, adding her Pikachu to their ranks. In fact, now that there was a small group standing against the monstrous Pokémon, it seemed that trainers from all sides were looking to get involved in their assault on it. Kyle growled. This had something to do with psychology, he thought: people don't act in a mass crisis unless they're led, or something like that. He couldn't remember for sure.

Either way, there were nearly two dozen trainers adding their attacks in against the 'Regirock" now, which was much better than he and Jamie having to fight it off on their own. It managed to block quite a few of the attacks and counterattack some with flying rocks, but it seemed unable to keep up with the sheer number of trainers and their Pokémon that had come to challenge it. In fact, he could swear that the shadow Pokémon was now visibly troubled, and taking a few steps back. Kyle shouted in satisfaction, and he wasn't the only one. The entire crowd gathered started to yell encouragements to their Pokémon.

"That's it, Golduck!"

"Go! Shadow Ball!"

Kyle couldn't help but adding to their cheers, "Cyndaquil! Voltorb! Keep it up!" Kyle broke into his wide grin again. They were actually beating this crazy thing! This was more like it!

With a sigh, Alice could see the progression in the attacks. She figured that Cherubi just didn't have enough power to cause some serious damage, despite being one of rock's enemies, so she called out Thalia as well. Immediately, a sandstorm followed, buffeting everything in it's wake.

"Okay Thalia, use Water Pulse! Cherubi, keep it up with your Magical Leaf!" Alice encouraged as her Pokemon let loose a torrent of water and another flurry of leaves. She saw the Regirock take a step backwards as it was hit with attacks from all sorts of trainers that had flocked to the battle. She could faintly make out Rose with her Vaporeon and Azumarill on the other side of the field as well as Dr. Starr with her Gallade. There was Sophi, Jay and a few other trainers she only recognized from the few battles she had managed to catch as well as the boat ride over.

Alice suddenly realized how lucky they were to have the creature attack in such a popular area. If it had attacked any trainer out randomly in the wild, they would have been hooped. The Asian knew that she didn't have much of a hope against this creature alone, but together, the trainers were able to put some impact into the attacks.

"Cherubi, Energy Ball!" Alice called. She watched her Pokemon prepare the attack briefly before letting the element-soaked ball of energy fly towards the Pokemon, causing more damage than the leaves had. "Keep at it lads!" Alice cheered, not only for her Pokemon, but for the others too.

"Patter, patter, pat-pat, pat-pat, pat"

Run...

Run...

The sounds of battle were becoming louder and louder as the determined trainer ran towards the unknown.

"Patter, patter, pat-pat, pat-pat, pat"

Before his eyes, were several trainers attacking what looked like to be a Regirock. However, this didn't look like an ordinary Regirock. This one was very different.

"Hmm, curious." He was about to send Duskull out to help, but Duskull had had enough actions for awhile. Plus, this Regirock looked too strong for Duskull, and even Sneasel was not strong enough to fight this living rock. The choice was obvious.

"Empoleon, take your stand!" he shouted. Releasing the Pokeball, Empoleon jumped from its Pokeball.

"Pol...", it said. The aqua penguin's eyes were closed and his fins were folded. The two of them walked beside the small trainer with long black hair. He didn't even look to see anyone's face. He knew what he had to do.

"Alright, Empoleon, Hydro Pump on its flashing eyes!" As Empoleon opened its large beak, a sphere of water formed inside of it. Cocking its head and then lowering it, Empoleon released a thick beam of water at the rock Pokemon.

"SQUAAAAA!!" the fierce bird cried as it preformed its deadly attack. The Regirock was in much more pain than before. Hydro Pump was one of the most powerful water attacks, and Regirock was weak to water. So it was no doubt that this beast was about to lose all of its energy from the combined forces of all of the other trainer's pokemon. Ethan carried a fierce look in his eyes. It was intimidating. It was the kind of look that said, "You can't beat me, I'll never lose my focus no matter what." He was determined to make this Regirock fall.

Sophi so silleh~
Sophi couldn't help but smirk to herself after seeing just how many people were gathered together to fend off the legend before them. She looked out at her Chikorita who seemed to be firing off MagicalLeaf's in incredibly fast succession, though it was putting a strain on the small Pokémon. Mawile groaned as she struggled to keep herself back. Before Sophi could react, she had leapt forwards and swung around and let loose a stream of fire. Sophi was still strong with not wanting Mawile to fight, but the Pokémon was stood still now and the FlameThrower didn't seem to be effected it too badly.

A thought came to mind as she began to panic. She looked around trying to spot her Pachirisu. "Pachi!" She looked behind the giant rock golem to see a sparking white ball spinning fast between two trees, with each hit the spinning was getting much faster. As it seemed to have reached her fastest, the Pachirisu suddenly launched and hit the Regirock hard where it's shin would be, hoping to knock off its centre of balance.

She was beginning to wish the creature had attacked at least a little earlier or that she'd sent Corsola home a little later, though she was a high defensive Pokémon, Corsola was still strong. She shook off the thought and concentrated on keeping her Pokémon from harms way.

Ken Reyson - At the scene of the battle

Ken was amazed by the teamwork and resolve that the other trainers were showing. Most of them didn't even appear phased by the whole situation, and a few of them even looked excited. Of course, who could blame them, it wasn't everyday you got the chance to do something like this. However, it was obvious that some of the pokemon had been battling a bit longer than the others, but the Regirock (or whatever it was) wasn't looking to sharp at the moment either. Ken glanced over at Comet, who was obviously tired from their adventure earlier today, and wondered just how much they would be able to help. The Ledian only had one attack that would be effective. The Cacnea might do a better job, but the crazy little cactus was in no condition to fight and Ken wasn't entirely sure that sending him out would be such a good idea anyway.

"You ready?" Ken asked. Comet nodded. "Alright then, use Agility to boost your speed, then hit it with Mach Punch whenever you get an opening." Comet nodded again and opened his wings. "Be careful, it is a rock type." Ken warned him before the Ledian sped off to join in the fight.

After a few moments, (Ken really wasn't sure ho much time had passed) a few more trainers joined the brawl, one of them with an Empoleon. And it knew Hydro Pump. The Regirock began to lose some ground, but it still didn't look like it was ready to give in just yet. What the heck was this thing?

OOC: Is "blobby" a word?

Marth Kane- Where everyone else is..... SCHOOL!

One of the boys she was standing with ran off. The other stared into space, watching the giant, blobby Pokemon. *SHOT DOWN!* Marth stood back up and dusted herself. Right then. I know me and my Pokemon's limits. As she put her foot forward to charge the beast, a sickening crackle reached her ears. The transformed Regirock had pounded the ground and a crack had formed in the ground at her feet. She sidestepped quite a few steps and none too soon. A large piece of earth dissolved and fell into an unseen cavern. A light bulb popped up above Marth's head. Two girl trainers were near her and she called out.

"Hey! OVER HERE!" They both turned. A Pachirisu was just returning to one trainer and the other had her Cherubi attacking. Marth pointed to the hole and made a trail with her fingers in the air towards the Regirock imitate. Then she jumped in, whether or not they were joining.

It was just a tad pitch black when she hit bottom (which hurt because of it's depth). She grabbed her Vulpix's Pokeball and threw it into the darkness. There was a clunk and it flew right back at her face. She tore it off in pain and turned before throwing it again. This time Venus appeared. "Will-o-wisp, please."

Instantly there was light and Marth could see the drop was really far. Fifteen feet was her estimate. She dusted the now apparent debris from her outfit and saw the underground path going in the direction of the morphing ‘Pokemon’.

(OOC: Sorry about the delay. Lets see if this post can bring this back from the dead.)

The shadow, now on the defensive, surveyed the situation, trying to pick out the weakest of the group and take them out. Unfortunately there were simply too many and the constant stream of attacks where made singling out impossible. It had no other opinions, it had to retreat and began to shift putting the trainers on edge. It soon settled into the shape of a sabre-toothed beast with clouds billowing from its back, the legendry Raikou, before letting out a roar and darting into the forest. A cheer arose from the trainers who had successfully fended off the beast. (OOC: What you guys do next is up to you)

Only one other thing emerged from the woods that night, alone trainer and his pokemon who made a beeline straight for the hospital.

“Nurse!” The lad cried as he entered the building attracting the attention of the Joy on duty who rushed over. In his Machoke’s hands was the frozen figure of a man in a brown jacket and black jeans, The Joy nodded understanding.

“I’ll get some Ice heal…” The boy held up his hand stopping her in her tracks.

“I think it’s more serious this time” He said uneasily before indicating to the figures hands, Joy leaned over and let out a gasp. In the mans hands was a dark shredded piece of cloth, a reaper cloth….

(OOC: Very short but it’ll get the plot moving. Luke may or may not be dead but I think for the time being if this is to survive I should take a back seat to character playing and focus on keeping the plot following and setting up events.)

Alice cheered loudly as the mysterious creature disappeared into the forest. "Great job everyone," she said to her Pokemon, returning Thalia and Cherubi to their Poke Balls. Then she got an idea.

"Hey everyone!" she called out to the trainers. "How about a party in the lobby of the hotel? It would be a great opportunity to meet other people and to congratulate each other on a job well done. I'm sure we could convince the caters to send food to the lobby, because I don't know about you, but I'm starving." She winked and took in a breath. As eggstravagant and eccentric as she was, she was nervous about initiating the party. She wasn't sure how many people would come or what could potentially happen. She didn't need more damage to add to her growing pile of tabs.

"I'll be there setting it up," she said. "Anyone is welcome to help but if you don't want to try and be there in half an hour or so. We should be ready by then. Come on Pikachu, we've got a lot of work a head of us." She scooped up her Pokemon and dashed back towards the hotel. She had to make a lot of ends meet for the party and she wasn't even sure if Mr. Rosenfield would approve, but given the circumstances she was sure that he would. Who didn't love a good celebratory party?

Kyle yelled encouragements at Cyndaquil and Voltorb, clenching his fists and grinning wildly. The shape-shifting Pokémon was obviously in a corner now, there was no way around that. It was having a hard time shifting focus between the dozens of trainers that had arrived to face it, let alone keeping up with the constant barrage from all sides. Re-evaluating the situation, it changed back into its shadowy state before reforming as a yellow, four-legged creature that Kyle recognized vaguely as the legendary Pokémon Raikou. Giving a roar, it turned tail and ran off toward the forest - and it was fast. Qith no way of catching it, the battle was as good as over. And the trainers....they had won! Kyle thrust his fist into the air and gave a deep, triumphant shout. Practically everyone else was doing the same thing, even the Pokémon. As the flames on Cyndaquil's back died down and Voltorb quit sparking, Kyle reached down and gave them both pats on the head.

"That was good, guys, real good," he said. Voltorb made a happy, distorted noise and Cyndaquil jumped into his arms, giving him a hug. They deserved to celebrate, even Swellow and Cloyster...

Who were still down.

Looking around, Kyle saw that a lot of Pokémon had been hurt in the battle. The Pokémon Center would be flooded. Looking over to the building, Kyle saw a great hole in the wall. That's right; the Pokémon Center had been hit bad, too. After a quick moment of thought, Kyle called Cyndaquil and Voltorb back, then ran over and climbed through the hole in the Center wall. There he saw the lobby covered in debris, and Nurse Joy panicking behind the counter. Entering, Kyle skipped any formalities and walked straight to Nurse Joy.

"What can I do?" he asked. Even though they had won outside, inside it would be like the battle was still raging. Her job wouldn't be easy. She needed help, and he was the best one to give it.

Nurse Joy shook her head, then put it in her hands. "The wall's gone, some of the healing machines are malfunctioning, we're going to be swamped in about five minutes... pick something, anything." Then slumbing back down into her chair, Jooy grumbled something along the lines of "I need a drink..."

Kyle burst through the employee door. Nurse Joy was having a bad day, to be sure. Someone more suited to physical work could fix the wall. But he was best working back here. Kyle threw off his overshirt and pulled a toolbox out of the utility closet, then walked over to the various machines for physical and energy therapy on the Pokémon. Some of them looked like they just needed to be properly reset, but others... some of them had been physically damaged, and would need new parts installed. It didn't help that the blast that hit this place had been electrical in nature. Kyle sighed and bent down to view the master control panel of one less-damaged machine.

He would have his work cut out for him.
