They more than likely have other pokemon that weren't shown on screen but the ones that were shown on screen defeated May's/Drew's with little to no effort.Paul likes facing strong opponents so I would find it more interesting seeing him use his Torterra or Electivire against their aces.

A battle against Zoey would be interesting I guess if it's a mini battle and the fact that Zoey has shown to be more of a tactician than the coordinators from AG a lot of that has to do with the direction the anime was going towards which was closer to how battles operate in the games.So a battle with Zoey would offer strategy while a battle with Solidad/Robert would offer power,that's how I see it.

I agree. It's rather nebulous to ascribe that Robert would have had a better Contest-showcasing Battle with Paul than Zoey would have had, considering how much of a non-entity Robert technically is, overall and especially compared to Zoey. Additionally, Zoey would have far more of a then-concurrently relevant motive to Battle Paul Contest-style and show him what's up than anyone else.

I know this thread is one of hypotheticals and what-ifs, so posters are free to post the dream boughts they'd have liked to see. Still, certain hypotheticals would fit more succinctly than others, including the idea of Zoey VS Paul, given the context we already have to go on. (Robert winning a Grand Festival doesn't work as enough of one, especially since Zoey did likewise not long after and had more in-canon aspects that would make the idea of her wanting to Battle Paul a believeable one, even if that wasn't the direction the writers chose to take. Heck, that was precisely the idea it looked like they were headed towards in the beginning 0f that episode.)

I'm talking about just a straight out battle like Drew had with Ash in Hoenn,not an actual contest battle,that's a little different.

I don't think that Robert was that great of a battler in spite of his Grand Festival win, although I can't say that I'm against the thought of him battling Shinji. I think that Robert versus Saori or Nozomi would've been more interesting, simply because they were all Grand Festival winners, so we can assume that they were at the same skill level.

Takuto versus Shirona would've been fun to see. Since Shirona's a Champion it's assumed that she probably would've beaten Takuto's Darkrai and Latios with less effort than Satoshi had to use, but it still would've been cool to see Gablias battle them.

She was pretty much relegated to being a gag character after her debut, so I suppose that she and Satoshi having a full battle would've at least broken that streak of gag scenes that she became known for.

They both send out Nidoking and Electivire and become best friends lol

They both had a role in Gligar's evolution so it'd would've been interesting if it they battled after learning about the other's impact on it.
