Pokemon Black and White Confirmed Info Discussion [READ FIRST POST]

Love the titles names. Don't care what anyone says.

This could very well be the undertaking by Game Freak to introduce flipflop elements present in each game that aren't strictly bound by story or catchable Pokemon.

you expect wrong. heartgold, soulsilver, platinum, diamond, pearl, firered, leafgreen, ruby, sapphire, emerald, crystal, gold, and silver have the same names as their japanese counterparts, the only difference is the language they're spoken in.

Kinda nice to see them return to colors (Yes I know they're shades, whatever) Iwas getting tired of people suggesting more and more gemstones. Pokemon Opal/Topaz/Ameyst/More name of gems most people have never heard of sounded really awkward.

Judging by these version names, I think it's pretty certain that the 3rd version will be Gray/Grey. (By the way- is it Gray or Grey? I know both spelling are correct, like color and colour, but which one do you think they'll go with?)

Also I vote that the Third game will be called something like Purple or Pink. I doubt Nintendo is dumb enough to go for Brown.

Gray is the American spelling, so they'll most likely pick that.

I doubt that that with the whole Jynx situation Nintendo wants to risk it plus Pokemon is what's helping nintendo thrive you don't see new Mario or Link games getting released every 3-6 months what do you think Nintendo's living on Love? They could always call them Pokemon "Koku"(Koku=Black) and Pokemon "Shiro"(Shiro=White) but Shiro probably sounds to close to シロミ(Shiromi=Egg White) Pokketo Munsuta Bulakku and Wihito ポッケトームンスターブァックーウィヒト I'm guessing would be the official Katakana name?

Pokemon main series games have only had Katakana names since the second gen. And "shiromi" comes from "shiro" so that why they sound alike ... sort of like egg white sounding like white ...

The official Katakana of the names are

ポケットモンスター　ブラック　(Pocket Monster Black)
ポケットモンスター　ホワイト (Pocket Monster White)

I'm just excited for CoroCoro! We know we're getting the names for sure, so we're definitely getting at least some new silhouettes, if not the Box Legends.

Will the Box Legends be Normal and Dark, I wonder? I don't even want to consider the possibility of a... *shudder* Light type...

Yeah, because Ebony and Ivory Versions sound less racist than black and white. Black and white are common colors we see everyday, ebony and ivory is the name of a song about interracial love.

@forever flame: I always considered psychic to be the "light" typer in contrast to dark
so I think it will be a psychic and a dark legendary for the boxes

I can already see people drawing parallels between Zorua/Zoroark and Pokemon Black since both Pokemon are Dark types.

I'm not familiar with Katakana but they're not going to change it to Koku or Shiro since they have a pattern of using English names for titles. Besides the logos look official.

I am pleasantly surprised by the names (I, too, believed that those names would never be used). I missed the colors, so I am happy that they are going back to them (yes I now they are shades ).

The logos look really cool, too. I am super hyped now for this new generation!!!!

Pokémon Unubium and Pokémon Cadmium.

It's hilarious how everyone sees "Black & White" and goes OH MY GOD THIS WILL BE SO RACIST OH MY GOD WHAT WILL THE REAL DEAL ENGLISH NAMES BE????

Though I'm sure this will make any and all speculation unbelievably annoying beyond all comprehension.

It's the next stage in the pre-release droning. We weren't going to be able to prattle on and on about Zoroark forever.

Ebony and Ivory would be more symbolic, but it would probably make things worse since Ebony is a type of porn.

They might as well keep things simple, if they want to go for that type of thing.
