Well everyone refers to the male character in Pokemon Gold & Silver as "Gold", and "Red" is the main character in Red, Green/Blue and Yellow, is he not?

Yeah, but I've never heard anyone refer to the main characters in the subsequent games as Ruby or Diamond.

I actually expected them to call the 5th gen games this, I mean it is kinda an obvious colour choice when you think about it.

It's a shame some idiot will claim calling the game black is racist. *SIGH!*

I predict that this generation will introduce some form new type similar to "Light" or "Holy".

As for the legendaries, this is just an idea but I think the legendaries in this will be:

White version: A legendry representing birth and new life, probably a light type.
Black version: A legendry representing death and the end of life, probably either a ghost or a dark type.
third version/Hidden legendry: A legendry representing the process of life, the bit in between birth and death. Probably will be a normal type.

my first reaction when I read Pokemon White Version? Light-type.

as I read more of the tiny piece of info, crazy thoughts started popping out of my mind.

its setting. will it take place contemporaneously with the games? or will it be in the past?
its storyline. more legends to bust and myths about the world of pokemon to discover?
the pokemon. thinking the list shall go on through 600?

Maybe it's a hint (ex: pokemon black=Pokemon Obsidian), but I think these names are the real deal...legendaries will probably have something to do with Yin and Yang.

wow, I think I will be getting Black as most people will be. Going from:
colors -> metals -> gems -> gems -> shades & tints is odd. And I had R/B/Y but I always felt a strong connection with Blue, and I was semi disappointed that Red is the "main character"

In my school, I can't say "Dude, I like that guy's black shirt" or something without some black kid (or white kid who's racially confused) walk by and say "RAYcist" (ya, I know there's no "y" in there, but that's what they sound like when they say it). In most cases they're just kidding, but it's very annoying.

Some people are just extremely preoccupied with race...did you know that when Obama took office he was immediately bombared with questions like "Mr. Obama, are you Black enough?"...

America is full of idiots...but we've got quite a lot of smart people, too.

maybe it's just a prototype name. I think the legendaries will have a yin and yang-type concept based on them. Like the giratina-arceus bit with matter-antimatter. But all i can say, is that the more enigmatic a title is, the more eager i am to find out!

yeah i was expecting something like Pokemon Quartz or Pokemon Opal. its nice to see plain colors again, though. i cant wait till they reveal some more genV Pokemon. i wonder how many new ones there will be, my guess is about 100 new ones
