Pokemon: Blissful World
History Repeats itself. This is not theory. This is not speculation. This is fact, and a fact that proves itself correct over and over again through countless generations, until finally something breaks the loop, but in doing so creates a new loop which begins the chain of repetition all over again. Humanity knows this, or at least, they should know this, but yet they seem to forget so often, to neglect their knowledge and continue with their actions over and over until they’ve driven themselves and all around them into their graves, and beyond in some cases. Never before has this been more true than in this world, Symphina. Symphina, one of the most peculiar realities of them all, in which from the beginning was destined to be a world of great things, but also a world doomed to fall, as you will very soon see.
You see, the origins of this world were completely different to those of most others. This world wasn’t manufactured by the gods, or any of their minions. This world wasn’t manufactured by the humans, or any of the other insignificant species in the alternate universes, no. This worlds origin is in fact unknown to the gods, the people, and the creatures alike. The world was there long before the gods arrived, and most likely will be there for many years longer. The people of the planet, however, are a completely different story. When the gods discovered the planet of which they had not fashioned, they were extremely angered, all believing another god to be lying, as if one of the gods didn’t create the planet, who did? Who had the power or the strength to create anything that perfect other than the gods themselves? Soon, as all arguments eventually lead, the gods started a war over the planets, lead by two gods in particular, Shaymin and Arceus. On Shaymins side, the Pokemon of universe, far more powerful than Arcues soldiers as well as more varied. On Arceus side, the Humans. Capable of much more advanced thought and tactics, as well as being far more disposable, the armies were equally matched, fighting with eachother on the planet for countless years.
The war lasted for countless millennia, with neither side budging and inch due to the often mentioned fact that both gods could create as many of their chosen soldiers as they want with the snap of their fingers, so in the eyes of the other gods the war was simply a pointless waste of lives, and time the gods could be spending on other planets in the universes. After a long period of time, one of the Gods finally decided to take action. Deoxys, the least social of all gods, took it upon herself to stop the fighting permanently, and in secret began many years of thought in order to find a way to stop the fighting for evermore. Emerging from her slumber finally, she put the well designed plan into action, using her massive psychic energy to aid her on the way. Her plan was a simple one, but also one that would require great sacrifice from herself in order to work to its full extent. She had planned it for many years now, and had fully accepted that it needed to be done, so she valiantly did what she needed to do.
She gave her life.
The effect of the gods death was unbelievable, but it also did exactly what it was supposed to do. Stop the fighting. Meeting finally after what was over nine thousand years, the two gods agreed finally to a cease-fire, as well as the promise to never fight over this world again. In order to seal the deal, the pair each took a drop of their own blood, and fused it together to make a stone tablet. This stone tablet was known from then on as the Keystone, and it formed a link between Human and Pokemon that would hold out for billions of years to come, the keystone being sealed inside the deepest corner of the largest cave of the lands, hidden from view of the humans and Pokemon forever. Even if the gods trusted each other, they didn’t trust their servants to be as honourable as themselves, in fact, they were counting on humans and Pokemon to betray their trust, so they added a little extra magic into the mix to seal the deal.
From that moment on, all Pokemon and Human were partners in a non-optional binding contract that would keep until the moment they die. The contract was simple. Every human would be connected in a unbreakable link to a Pokemon, and would therefore be forced to treat their fellow comrades on the planet in high regard, simply because if they killed the Pokemon or Humans, they would also kill off a soldier on their own side. The death of one side of the spectrum would instantly result in the death of the other side of the spectrum. Of course, this change of the way they lived wasn’t taken very well by some people. Protests of how the humans were going to survive without eating the Pokemon, or likewise how that if Pokemon or Humans killed each other in their same raced fighting, why should the opposite species have to suffer in death? The gods responded to the first accusation by creating a third species for the planet. These creatures weren’t capable of learning moves and powers like the Pokemon; all they had was whatever tough hide or claws they were provided with, these ‘animals’ being very similar to the species on our Earth today, but the animals are seen as only food in this universe, and nothing more.
I response to the second plea, however, the gods were less merciful. They gave the Humans and Pokemon very little help in the matter, simply stating that they needed to work out their own societies, and their own differences from that point on. But, the gods were still compassionate towards their creations, and granted both sides of the spectrum a chance to help themselves live a better life from that point on. Both groups, the Pokemon and Humans, were each offered one collective request, which the god would accept regardless of how stupid it was, but they also told the pair this would be the last request that they would grant them, and that they should make a decision which they are certain that will aid the generations below them for evermore. The Humans and Pokemon went away in their collective groups, and began to discuss the thing that they wanted the most for the years to come. The Human elders discussed for little under a week, and came up with something that they thought vital to their survival. The Humans asked for the ability to defend themselves. The Pokemon had energy attacks, tough armour and various other means of protection, so why shouldn’t the humans? The animals even had ways of surviving which the humans didn’t posses. The gods, being kind, went away to think how they would grant humanities wish.
The gods returned to the humans and granted the wish with the snap of their fingers, the humans giving puzzled remarks to the gods as they explained the wish had been granted. One of the humans, a man who had been previously linked to a Magmortar, accused the gods of lying, which the gods denied instantly. Extremely angry at being tricked, he lashed out his arm towards the gods, and found himself launching a huge burst of fire at the gods (which, of course, did nothing). He apologised immediately after for doubting the gods, and his life was graciously spared by the gods. Leaving the humans to test out their powers (after warning them to be careful, mind), the gods moved over to the Pokemon, giving them the same chance of making a wish. The Pokemon spent a lot more time on the thought than the Humans did, and didn’t respond to the gods for three whole years. When they did respond, however, they gave a wish that in the gods eyes was a lot more to be proud of than the humans wish. They wished for eternal freedom, being captured by no man for the rest of their days on the planet. The gods satisfied their wish, and then seeing both groups as happy, left the world, and departed into other parts of the universe to continue their job of creation once again.
Ten Thousand Years after the Requests
Both Man and Pokemon alike eventually grew to forget the work that the gods had done for their people, but nonetheless, they still retained the link between each-other, and now held each-other in the highest respects possible. The humans had advanced far more in the years, and had now split into many different factions of people, building large cities and towns with technologies thought impossible in the older days, having huge amounts of people living in what had now become several different country states. Likewise, the Pokemon population had soared through the roof with no natural predators, having exactly the same amount of people as the humans, simply because of the link that meant when a Pokemon was born, a human would be born too. It was the law, and nobody questioned the laws of nature, ever. Except one person.
His name was Aragi Soressen, a thirty year old professor from one of the smaller towns, who had devoted his entire life to finding the link between the Pokemon and the humans, mainly in an attempt to find a way to switch his partner Pokemon. You see, Soressen was born to two small town parents, in a small village in one of the quieter parts of the world. From a young age, he always thought bigger than his moral place in society would allow. It annoyed him deeply, and drove him to the point where he hated all of those who were higher in the ranks than him, secluding himself to laboratories in his home town, funded by the money he could win by gambling in the village. He was determined to get higher in the ranks of society, but to do so he needed to get rid of the thing tying him down the most. His partner Pokemon, a Rattata. He tried everything possible he could think off, including killing other humans in an attempt to gain their partners, but none of it worked. In the end, he surrendered his efforts and went via a more simple way. Praying. Even though the world of Symphina was a godless planet, he still thought it was worth a try, as surely someone was watching somewhere. Surely someone would care. And apparently, someone did care. A lot.
This gods name was Darkrai. Perhaps the most corrupt Pokemon in existence, Darkrai had been banished to the deepest pits of an empty universe for countless years, sitting, watching, and planning his revenge on the worlds. At this point he had still not thought of any worthy plans to fight back against Arceus, rather, he was interfering in many of his finest creations, changing history for the worse simply to annoy the stronger gods. He wasn’t even particularly looking for anything at this point, but when he heard the prayer, he saw an opportunity to mess in one of Arceus finest success stories, something he would not pass up willingly. Happy to help the man, Darkrai informed Soressen of the only possible way to remove yourself from your Pokemon partner. Murdering the partner yourself. At first, Soressen was reluctant. Even he somewhat believed the stories of the Pokemons holiness, and wasn’t sure if he should trust the god. But soon enough he gave in to temptation, and headed out to find the Pokemon.
As any other human, Soressen could summon his spirit partner to meet him at any time should he want to, at any place also, and the Pokemon would be forced to oblige. So, Soressen summoned the Pokemon to meet him in a dark, deserted part of some woods near his home village, and upon meeting Soressen picked up his partner and promptly smashed his head against a tree, killing the poor Pokemon. Instantly, Soressen lost the limited normal type powers he possessed, but yet, he was still alive. He found himself free at last from the spirit, and felt completely alone in the world. At least, until Darkrai seeped in. Finally finding a way to regain some form of power, Darkrai sent his entire soul into the mans body, Soressens little conscience soon vanished, as well as all the mind and willpower left in him. Darkrai was now in a human body, and without a spirit Pokemon connection to hold him down, he could truly wreak havoc of his own once again.
Searching through Soressens old plans, he came across the design for a ball, which had the perfect design for capturing Pokemon and shrinking them down to fit inside the ball until called for action. Apparently, the reason that the item had been scrapped was the fact no real energy source could provide it with the power to capture the Pokemon. Thankfully, Darkrai knew of an energy source he could use to power these Pokemon Balls, a energy source not often discussed by the world. Aura. The reason aura is so rarely discussed as a power source choice is what you have to get through to obtain it. Aura can only be gained through the murder of either a Pokemon or a man, and then absorbing the residue from the link that connected them to their partner. Using this energy, you can power almost anything, or even command it in battle if you’re powerful enough to do so. Darkrai was a clever god, mind, and had worked out fairly quickly that any one of these Pokemon Balls would only require one batch of aura energy to power permanently, but he also figured out it would only be able to control one Pokemon at a time, and more importantly, any mortal man would most likely be overwhelmed by simply holding more than one of these balls at any one time. Lucky for Darkrai, he was no mortal man.
Creating over 50 of these Pokemon Balls, Darkrai decided that even with his power the maximum he would be able to control was five or six, so he needed to gain a few followers, and by a few, forty seemed an adept amount. In order to prove to the people he would meet that his Pokemon Balls really worked, he grabbed one and headed towards the first place that popped into Soressens head; his parents house. Walking inside, Darkrai killed Soressens mother with a flick of his finger, absorbing the bond between her and her Glameow and using the aura power to create the first working Pokemon Ball. Darkrai was pleased with the success, and instantly began to plot what Pokemon he would capture with the device. Things like Rattatas and Pidgeys were far too small time…he needed something big. Deciding at last, he made his way to the deep caverns underneath the planets crust, and made his way out with the first captured Pokemon since the days of the original war. Glad of his power, he afterwards made his way to one of the more populated areas of the region, thinking fear would most likely be a perfect way of getting soldiers on side.
Walking straight into the town center, he released his Pokemon out into the square, a large armoured tank of a Metagross, who instantly overwhelmed the people of the town. Within hours over 200 had been massacred by the creature, before it was returned to its Pokemon Ball. Darkrai was pleasantly surprised to find that his plan had worked, and he had much more than the required forty he needed. In fact, he probably had double what he needed. A perfect amount. He told the eighty that only forty of them would be able to join him, and the other forty would die. Anyone that tried to run would be killed. He smiled as he watched the people fight each other to the death, and absorbed the auras from the dead and imprinted them into the remaining pokeballs, handing them to each of the survivors afterwards. He told them all to capture fairly powerful Pokemon and meet him in another of the largest cities, in fact, the capital itself.
Meeting as a group in the town center, they went unnoticed until Darkrai gave the order to a attack, at which point 41 angry Pokemon came ripping out of their balls, fighting and killing many of the people in the town. Darkrai smiled. He had captured the Pokemon of the planet, something thought impossible, and would soon have destroyed one of Arcues greatest successes. Or at least, he thought that was what was going to happen. He didn’t count on one thing though; The Pokemons request working. Suddenly, in the midst of the battle, all of the Pokemon Balls simply snapped in two, the Pokemon immediately stopping in their tracks, and turning around, extremely angry at being captured by the men. A bloodbath occurred soon after. Of the 7 men who survived, six where sent to prison, and the last one, well, he ran. He ran as far away as he could, across continents and oceans to get somewhere to hide, and eventually, he died of old age, Darkrai finally fleeing his body, and returning to the space he inhabited once more, and once again pulling pranks on Arcues feeble creations.
Now, 80 years after the Slaughter
A thirty year old professor had discovered the lab where Soressen did his research, and most importantly, his blueprints. He has taken the blueprints for the Pokemon Ball for himself, reading the various notes Darkrai had scribbled on, and decided he would do what the ‘great’ Pokemon trainer could not. Andrew Marshall is his name, and with a collective group of about twenty different volunteers, (who will willingly kill their partners when the time comes, but have not yet at this point), he is confident that this time round the Pokemon Balls will be able to capture any and all Pokemon that he will throw them at. After he deals away with a little bump in the road. You see, Marshall is a clever Professor, and has certainly done his research before this point, believing that he has discovered the location of the keystone which was created by Shaymin and Arceus all those years ago. He personally believes that the keystone, if broken, will allow for the capture of Pokemon, and therefore allow him to do what Soressen failed at in the past, and become a true master.
Marshall bragged a bit too much about what he has done, however, in fact, it is now common knowledge to the authorities of many of the nations what he is about to do. As such, the leaders of most of the separate nations have decided as one body that something needs to be done about this. So, each individual nation has put out a request for any people wanting a real adventure, an expedition to previously unknown territory. Depending on the nation, people of any age or type can join the campaign, but be informed that the governments will tell you very little of what’s going on until you’re so deep in that you can’t wade yourself back out again. This man needs to be stopped from doing what he’s attempting to do, as none of the separate bodies want to see what happened prior to now happen again. And they certainly don’t want anything to damage the peace that has been held in the nation for so long prior to the event. They need you, but are you willing?

The Seventeen Powers:
Due to the link that the Humans have been given with Pokemon, and the request they made countless years ago, Humans have been granted with numerous abilities all dependent on the Pokemon that they have been chosen to be spirit partners with. The Pokemon is chosen by fate upon birth, and no human or Pokemon has any say in the matter; you’re stuck with your partner until either one dies. As such, some despise their partners ‘for not being the right type’ or ‘not giving them good enough powers’, when in reality, all of the different ability types can be deadly with enough training and determination. Here are the seventeen different ability types, and generally the variety of what they can do. The attacks listed here are very standard and useable by all of the chosen type should they be put in the moveset.
Bug: Bugs are on of the more diverse of the Types, simply because of the large amount of different defences the bug type as a whole has provided for itself. The diverse nature of the type means that the humans are also similarly unique in the fact very little humans will share the same types of abilities, and as such, it relies very much so on whatever Pokemon the spirit is connected too. For example, those connected to a Spinarak will have the ability to produce silk webs out of their hands or body, as well as being able to launch webs out to trap opponents in their sticky restrictions. Vespiqueen spirit partners often have the ability to summon swarms of tiny insects to their command, the creatures attacking any human their master wishes them to do so on. Some humans will gain advanced features from the Pokemon, such as increased speed, or much higher jumping span; even some humans will gain the light producing properties of Volbeat and Illumise. The fact is, the type is so diverse, I have little more to say on the matter.
Examples of Bug moves:
- String Shot: The user creates a thin string like substance from the tip of their fingers, and launches it rapidly out of their hands towards the enemy, the substance wrapping around them and preventing movement.
- Drain Fang: The user sneaks up on the enemy, and leaps out and bites them on the arm, neck or shoulder, absorbing energy out of their body at a quick pace until they are either knocked away or the opponent is completely empty.
Dark: A Typing hidden in the darkest alleys of the main cities, Dark Types generally do not like to make their presence known to others, as regardless of how evil or powerful a Person is, they will be avoided at any possible point. It’s not shunning to the extent of the Ghost Type, no, the Dark Type can live perfectly fine in most societies, able to get jobs and live normal, not standing out lives. But that’s the problem. Dark Types have no chance of getting any form of good job, or any recognition in society, apart from being recognised as criminals should they break the law at any point. Dark Types are forced to not think big by their parents, and if their parents are lax about this, their children as a majority end up in prison. The Dark Type itself is actually quite fascinating, the ability to control shadows, as well as slip through them to other locations like teleporting, is very useful for any want-to-be thieves, as well as detectives or P.Is for that matter. Dark Type people, contrary to some belief, can work their abilities perfectly fine in sunlight, as if you think about it, shadows are stronger in the direct glaze of the sun.
Examples of Dark moves:
- Shadow Claw: The user coats their hand in shadow energy, creating three sickles of darkness that stick out of the hand like a claw. The user then strikes the enemy with their claw, damaging them.
- Shadow Sneak: The user absorbs themselves into their own shadow, and then stretches their shadow in various directions in order to move from A to B without being spotted, coming out of their shadow at the other end when its stretched.
Dragon: The Dragon Type is thought by many to be the very epitome of beauty itself, the valiant swooping down from the sky of the Dragonite, Altaria and Salamence Humans. The elegance and passion of the Kingdra of the sea. The earthshaking terror of the Dragons of the ground, and the legendary grace of the Lati@s. The Dragon Humans are no different, taught by their elders to believe themselves to be the pure blooded royals of the Pokemon World, above every other species of the world simply because of the draconic gifts they have been given, which vary from person to person. Some people gain the fire breathing powers of the dragons, whereas others gain the elegant wings. Some gain sharp claws, or clawed feet, whereas others are gifted with large height and strong muscles. Dragon Typing is truly a diverse type, and as such, any characters made for this type will need a bit of imagination put into their skills and abilities.
Examples of Dragon moves:
- Dragonbreath: The user breaths out a jet of draconic flames, the heat burning flesh and even occasionally paralysing the enemy.
- Dragon Claw: The user runs at the enemy, their claw hand filled with dragon energy, and slash them across their body, infecting the wound with dragon energy and damaging the person deeply.
Electric: Electric Types are considered by many of the states the workers of the world, because of their natural ability to create electricity, a well needed power source for the parts of the world that willingly use electricity. Being paid extreme amounts of money (due to various strikes that involved world-wide blackouts), the Electric Types probably are one of the most well off types a general rule. Don’t be fooled that the Electric Type is weakened by its constant usage in energy business, as currently the Electric Type is at its peak of strength, with thunderous attacks coming down from the sky and shocking opponents, tendrils of electricity wrapping around the opponent and locking them in place, and even electrical discharges to remove the power from machines created by other electric types. Electricity, however, is a deadly thing to use in battle, as a majority of attacks involve shooting electricity through yourself at the enemy. Electric users have killed themselves often in battles by not being skilled enough, or focussed enough at the channelling of the energy, an ancient technique allowing them to survive. So any Electric users, beware of your own strength.
Examples of Electric moves:
- Zap Cannon: An electric attack which won’t harm the user, the person channels electrical energy into a ball outside of their body, in-between two parted hands, which grows and grows until the user lets it out in a sudden bolt, the energy flying at the opponent at lightning speeds to zap them for massive damage.
- Chainbolt: A powerful ability, the user willingly allows a bolt of lightning to come down from the sky, and channel through them, coming straight out of their hands and blasting at an enemy. Once it hits one enemy, it splits, and hits two nearby enemies, and then they split into two each, and the chain continues until every person in the nearby area has been electrified. Deadly, but very exhausting.
Fighting: Fighting Types, as expected, are generally the physical strongmen of the world. Not surprisingly having the lowest average IQ for all of the different types, Fighting is not surprisingly used as a type for hard labour, construction work and things of the sort. The Type, as such, is stereotyped as a bunch of dumb ape like people walking around and carrying heavy objects, something that is not true in the slightest. Fighting Types are perhaps the nicest and most friendly of all types. They are always willing to help out people, regardless of what they need help in, and will willingly slave away all the day in order to keep the rest of the population happy. Skilled in their strength, it’s not a surprise that the majority of their attacks are kicks, punches, and over physical attacks. Some have mastered abilities beyond the simple kicking and punching, but the majority stick to physical strength unless they’re double typed.
Examples of Fighting moves:
- Mega Punch: The user charges their fist with heaps of fighting energy, before running at the enemy and slamming their weak point for massive damage.
- Hi Jump Kick: Used by the more petit fighting types, the move involves leaping off the ground and flinging yourself towards the enemy, straight down across the sky to kick them hard. If a human misses with this attack, they will keep going forwards and crash into whatever they first hit, doing damage to themselves.
Fire: Possibly one of the most deadly abilities to use, Fire is the number one cause of crime in many of the different kingdoms of the time, simply because of the sheer destructive power that is possesses. Houses burnt to the ground in seconds, people trapped in a pillar of fire, melting walls down in order to get inside buildings and steal things, Fire is really the criminals type. It’s not just the criminals, however, that use fire, as the governments of the world soon figured out that only one type could prevent fire from spreading, and that’s fire. The Police Force, as such, is mainly made out of Fire Types, their manipulative abilities allowing them to stop other peoples flames in their tracks, and allow their co-workers to capture the powerless men, who without their powers, are unarmed. Fire is one of the types that takes a while to master properly, as one simply slip up could be the difference between life and death.
Examples of Fire moves:
- Fireball: A simple fire move, a person simply focuses some fire energy into a ball and launches it at the enemy.
- Dancing Flames: Advanced Fire Magic. The flames channelled out of the persons hand will literally come alive, and dance towards any and all living creatures in the area, including the man, and attempt to burn them to shreds without any proper control. It’s possible to stop the flames, but if the caster is killed before the flames cease, the flames will keep moving on eternally until stopped by another Human or Pokemon.
Flying: Flying is the most easy to tell apart from all the other types, simply because of the effect it has upon ones body during a battle. If somebody sees a Flying Type readying for battle, they are instantly distinguishable, simply because of the fact a majority of the Flying Type Users have wings. Flight if actually the most common of all powers, as with other types you’ll usually have other variants of abilities, none quite the same, whereas flight is always classified as flight whatever way you put it. Of course, don’t be under the misinterpretation that flying is all that Flying types can do, because in actual fact, against popular belief, it isn’t. Flying types have a variety wind based attacks at their disposal, including things such as mini tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and even making opponents fly up into the air, before dropping them again from a height. Flying is the second most common type in the world, but can never be used as a lone type due to the fact most Flying Pokemon are also considered ‘normal’, something that scientists could never get their brains around.
Examples of Flying moves:
- Flight: The user grows wings for as long as they need them, and can use them to fly around the battlefield, or in day to day uses.
- Air Gun: The user creates a ball of wind in his left hand, and then moves his fingers into the position of a gun, pulling an invisible trigger and launching the air across the area to hit the opponent for good damage.
Ghost: Ghost is perhaps the most curious of all type, simply because of the lack of people that have the typing, as well as the powers it provides to its users. Many of the Ghost Type people have lived far past their expiration date, simply because of the fact the ghostly energies seemingly last forever, and as such, so do the people. You’d think, then, that because of the long ages of the Ghost Types, you’d see them often in the world. Well you’d be wrong. Many of the states have banned any Ghost Type humans to enter their kingdom, as it’s considered an omen to the people living there. Its sad, as the Ghost Types have very lonely existences in the few areas they live in, but make great guards for prisons, and other jobs that involve protecting items. The ghosts have a variety of abilities, ranging from walking through walls, to levitating and also to create a shadowy energy not dissimilar to dark, except that the Ghostly energy can’t affect the Normal type due to the stark opposition the two types hold for each-other.
Examples of Ghost moves:
- Levitation: The user floats in mid-air for a limited amount of time to dodge enemy attacks.
- Shadow Ball: Similar to the in game version, Shadow Ball is a orb of energy which can be charged to any extent before being launched at the enemy. It’s able to pass through solid objects if wanted, but you must continue to focus on the attack at all times, or it will just explode mid-flight (or mid-charge)
Grass: Grass Typing is basically the ability to use nature to your advantage, by manipulating plants and the natural weapons they produce in order to fight their enemy. Depending on their spirit partner, Grass can be a very diverse type. Abilities range from using Powders to force your enemy asleep, summoning razor sharp leaves to fling at enemies telepathically, or summoning vines and roots from the ground bellow to tie up and trap the enemy, or squeeze all the life out of them. Considering what the abilities involve, the Grass Types find their powers best at use in forests, or farms, where along with Water Typers they make great farmers, growing the crop and spreading the seeds in seconds. Along with other typing, Grass Types can be deadly in combat, and they generally are good at working in teams, as long as the other team members know how to react to certain moves the Grass Type possesses.
Examples of Grass moves:
- Vine Whip: The Grass Type forces a root or vine to come soaring out of the ground, and then whip the enemy rather harshly to cause much pain. Can also be used to trip opponents up mid battle.
- Ultra Drain: A extremely powerful Grass Move, Ultra Drain literally absorbs the life out of an opponent, and sucks it into their own body, restoring health, energy supplies, and in some case getting younger by regaining life.
Ground: Ground Typing is often thought of as Rock Magic, and likewise the other way round. This is not true, however, as there are several stark differences that separate the two Types. The main difference is the things that the two types manipulate. Ground manipulates the earth itself, whereas Rock can only manipulate things detached from the Earth. Ground is the most used magic in the desert states, where, using the desert surface, they can push themselves along the ground at rapid speeds to get to their destination, shifting the sands (that falls under grounds jurisdiction) to allow rapid movement through the area. Ground Typing can be deadly, with sandstorms, Earthquakes and landslides all part of their work, and as such, Ground Types are not allowed to use their powers anywhere near the main cities, only out in the desert or other areas around towns. They aren’t hated as much as types such as Dark and Ghost, but they are still considered dangerous to the people.
Examples of Ground moves:
- Sand Tomb: Summoning sand from around themselves, the Ground Type forms the sand around an enemy, forming a solid tomb and trapping them inside, slowly choking the opponent, or restraining them.
- Earthquake: Stamping their feet down hard on the ground, the Ground Type will create the effects of a mini earthquake, shaking through the area around and knocking down people, buildings and vehicles in an instance.
Ice: Ice is strangely one of the easier Abilities to control, simply because of how simple their whole ability range is. All they can do, really, is make things colder, or freeze things. That’s it. What they then do with the cooled down things, or frozen things, however, is an entirely different matter. 1000 years ago, a group of heartless Ice abilitys were sick of their power being known as the easiest to master, so they practised their skills. They practised and practised and practised until they believed they were ready, and headed to the Kings quarters of a nation once grand. Using their icy powers, the legends tell us that they only really wanted to kill the King and then take over for themselves, but not even they could foresee how powerful they had gotten in the time they were training. Unleashing their most powerful attacks, the entire kingdom was instantly frozen by the power, and has stayed preserved for the thousand years, the whole kingdom stuck in time inside a large dome of ice. Since that time, the Ice users have accepted that they shouldn’t ever attempt to use their power for selfish needs, and have since become great healers, Ice energy apparently great at healing wounds of the fallen.
Examples of Ice moves:
- Deep Freeze: A less advanced version of the move used on that kingdom, the user unleashes a large amount of freezing energy around themselves, freezing all enemies but also trapping themselves inside the ice until they are freed.
- Ice Cure: A very common Ice move, the user sends a small amount of energy onto the allies wound, somehow causing it to become uninfected, and allowing the wound to heal over much quicker.
Normal: Normal, similar to the Bug type, has a very diverse range of abilities, but on thing remains the same in all Normal types. The fact their moves are so bland. You won’t see any of their moves involving flashing lights or pretty colours, only deadly but simple moves that the whole community neglects. You see, Normal Types are a lot more powerful than people give them credit for, with a huge variety of moves at their disposal, they are in fact one of the strongest types. Even the supposedly weak Rattata has a powerful move, its fangs able to tear apart flesh in minutes. People with the abilities of a Smeargle are the finest artists the world have ever seen, making beautiful masterpieces in seconds, and the sound based Pokemon such as Whismur, Loudred and Exploud able to completely rip apart the insides of a humans mind with the extremely large noises and shockwaves they create. The most underestimated type of all, don’t forget to hold it in high regard, or your foolishness may well be your downfall.
Examples of Normal moves:
- Hyperfang: The most powerful move of several Normal Types, the users fang is charged with Normal Energy, before the user then bites down extremely hard on the opponent, causing excruciating pain, and most likely killing them should the right body part be bitten.
- Helping Hand: A friendly Skill, Helping Hand is a chant cast by a human to send aiding energy into an ally, helping them to fight better in the coming battle.
Poison: The Poison Type is perhaps the most disgusting of all types, simply because of the horrid smells and liquid ooze that forms the majority of moves made by the Pokemon. Producing toxic gasses from their mouths, Poison Types are often used in criminal syndicates either during interrogation, and also should their boss want the opponent to suffer a slow, horrid death. They’re even used as threats in certain police forces, as it seems the thing that many criminals fear the most is death by poison, or even worse, being kept alive after being gassed or worst. The Poison type is dangerous for the long time effects it produces, people being without smell, hearing or other senses for the rest of their lives simply because of one bad confrontation. Poison Types can also be used in other business, including the waste business, which benefits majority from their workers ability to turn all the rubbish into slime, which is then washed away by rivers and streams into the ocean, which absorbs the slime and makes it anew.
Examples of Poison moves:
- Sludge Bomb: The user melts an object of their choice into sludge, which is then thrown at the enemies face, temporarily blocking their senses from working.
- Smokescreen: The user breathes out a pitch black smoke from their mouth, which blankets the area and makes sight difficult.
Psychic: Psychic is perhaps the Type which requires physical strength the least, simply because there are little to none physical Psychic attacks, as most of the focus of the Type is directed towards the mental side of the humans. The People of the Psychic Type are often born with a great thirst for knowledge, and many of the top professors of Symphina are Psychic Types, simply because of the huge capacity for knowledge that their enhanced brains posses. Common methods of fighting as Psychic types are telekinesis, telepathy and Hypnosis, all three of the abilities are amply used among the community, but a strange fact is that Hypnosis and Telepathy can no affect over Psychic types. Scientist believe it’s because all Psychic types share the same wavelength, but nobody can really be certain. The Psychic type also shares a much stronger bond with their Pokemon counterparts than any of the other Types, simply because both the Pokemon and Human can read each-others minds, as well as send messages directly to each-other from afar. This also means Psychic types will have very little chance of joining Marshalls campaign, simply because their Pokemon will see them coming to kill them, and flee.
Examples of Psychic moves:
- Hypnosis: Used my many Psychics, this ability simply puts the enemy into a deep sleep, allowing them to be moved, captured, or have anything done to them the scientists please. It can’t, contrary to popular belief, be used to control peoples actions.
- Psybeam: A beam of Psychic energy produced from the users mind, it then follows the opponent around the area, avoiding objects and such like intelligent life, and slams into them for hard damage.
Rock: Rock Typing is different to Ground Typing in the fact that rather than using the earth itself for its advantage, it uses things detached from the earth, mainly, rocks, sticks, and various other objects you’ll find lying around on the ground. Rock Types were originally believed to only manipulate rocks, as their name suggests, but over time it was discovered that they are in fact masters of telekinesis, and can use any natural weapon that isn’t attached to the ground for their advantage. Of course, Rocks are still the preferred type of weapon, considering the Rock Types ability to summon rocks from practically anywhere on the planet that isn’t covered in water, and even then summoning rocks is possible if needed, detaching themselves from the seabed. Rock Types and Ground Types are often used in combination with each-other because of their similarities.
Examples of Rock Moves:
- Rock Blast: Summoning three to five rocks depending on the location, the human will then launch the rocks one after another at the enemy, the objects breaking when hitting a solid object.
- Sticks and Stones: Several stones and twigs are levitated into the air, and all launched at the enemy at once, in an attempt to impale and damage them with the sharp and heavy objects.
Steel: Steel is the most defensive of all of the various Types, simply for the fact it provides the hardest armour that any man has yet managed to make. By loading their energy into their own body, they can produce a coat of steel armour which protects themselves from enemy attacks (excluding those of the fire and psychic types). They also have the ability to turn normal items to steel, and even their own fists into metal, allowing them to be almost as great physical workers as the Fighting Type. On their own, Steel Types are generally used as protective tanks, or guards of items of some sort, as they’re pretty hard to get past in the eyes of a theif. But combined with another type (Like Fighting or Rock) they are giants, almost unstoppable by physical means, and brilliant for sending in on the front lines of battles. When fire touches the armour of a steel Type, the Steel Type will soon find themselves on the brink of death due to horrible burns, so steel types should generally avoid fire types.
Examples of Steel Moves:
- Iron Armour: An extremely common move, the user coats themselves with heavy metal armour. It does not prohibit their speed, as they can make it as light as they wish on their body.
- Dagger Rain: Sends a blast of metal energy directly upwards into the clouds, causing the clouds to darken, and begin to rain. Soon, however, the opponent will find that it isn’t water coming down on them, but thousands of sharp daggers.
Water: A fairly common Ability due to the amount of fish Pokemon in the world, the Water Typing is very diverse in the different types of abilities they have. Including the likes of breathing underwater, hydrating or dehydrating somebody’s body, creating massive whirlpools of water, or even, when in combination of five or six water Types, creating a great Tidal Wave to wash over the beaches of the land. Quite a lot of Water users have over recent years disassociated themselves from the rest of society, building large underwater cities in which the people can live happily with the Pokemon away from the prying eyes of the rest of the world. Any attempts by non-water Types to find the cities end in death, simply because of how deep the city was built in attempt to avoid all contact with everyone else. Other water users are often hired on farms due to the rain bringing abilities some of them possess, managing to water all the crops on the farm within seconds.
Examples of Water Moves:
- Aqua Jet: The user submerses themselves in water, and uses the water in a jet like fashion to force themselves across the battlefield at the enemy.
- Rain Dance: The user dances spiritually to the lesser gods of sunshine and rain, Groundon and Kyogre. Kyogre responds to the plea by using his watery powers to make it rain on the users wished location for a limited amount of time.
