Pokemon: Blissful World

History Repeats itself. This is not theory. This is not speculation. This is fact, and a fact that proves itself correct over and over again through countless generations, until finally something breaks the loop, but in doing so creates a new loop which begins the chain of repetition all over again. Humanity knows this, or at least, they should know this, but yet they seem to forget so often, to neglect their knowledge and continue with their actions over and over until they’ve driven themselves and all around them into their graves, and beyond in some cases. Never before has this been more true than in this world, Symphina. Symphina, one of the most peculiar realities of them all, in which from the beginning was destined to be a world of great things, but also a world doomed to fall, as you will very soon see.

You see, the origins of this world were completely different to those of most others. This world wasn’t manufactured by the gods, or any of their minions. This world wasn’t manufactured by the humans, or any of the other insignificant species in the alternate universes, no. This worlds origin is in fact unknown to the gods, the people, and the creatures alike. The world was there long before the gods arrived, and most likely will be there for many years longer. The people of the planet, however, are a completely different story. When the gods discovered the planet of which they had not fashioned, they were extremely angered, all believing another god to be lying, as if one of the gods didn’t create the planet, who did? Who had the power or the strength to create anything that perfect other than the gods themselves? Soon, as all arguments eventually lead, the gods started a war over the planets, lead by two gods in particular, Shaymin and Arceus. On Shaymins side, the Pokemon of universe, far more powerful than Arcues soldiers as well as more varied. On Arceus side, the Humans. Capable of much more advanced thought and tactics, as well as being far more disposable, the armies were equally matched, fighting with eachother on the planet for countless years.

The war lasted for countless millennia, with neither side budging and inch due to the often mentioned fact that both gods could create as many of their chosen soldiers as they want with the snap of their fingers, so in the eyes of the other gods the war was simply a pointless waste of lives, and time the gods could be spending on other planets in the universes. After a long period of time, one of the Gods finally decided to take action. Deoxys, the least social of all gods, took it upon herself to stop the fighting permanently, and in secret began many years of thought in order to find a way to stop the fighting for evermore. Emerging from her slumber finally, she put the well designed plan into action, using her massive psychic energy to aid her on the way. Her plan was a simple one, but also one that would require great sacrifice from herself in order to work to its full extent. She had planned it for many years now, and had fully accepted that it needed to be done, so she valiantly did what she needed to do.

She gave her life.

The effect of the gods death was unbelievable, but it also did exactly what it was supposed to do. Stop the fighting. Meeting finally after what was over nine thousand years, the two gods agreed finally to a cease-fire, as well as the promise to never fight over this world again. In order to seal the deal, the pair each took a drop of their own blood, and fused it together to make a stone tablet. This stone tablet was known from then on as the Keystone, and it formed a link between Human and Pokemon that would hold out for billions of years to come, the keystone being sealed inside the deepest corner of the largest cave of the lands, hidden from view of the humans and Pokemon forever. Even if the gods trusted each other, they didn’t trust their servants to be as honourable as themselves, in fact, they were counting on humans and Pokemon to betray their trust, so they added a little extra magic into the mix to seal the deal.

From that moment on, all Pokemon and Human were partners in a non-optional binding contract that would keep until the moment they die. The contract was simple. Every human would be connected in a unbreakable link to a Pokemon, and would therefore be forced to treat their fellow comrades on the planet in high regard, simply because if they killed the Pokemon or Humans, they would also kill off a soldier on their own side. The death of one side of the spectrum would instantly result in the death of the other side of the spectrum. Of course, this change of the way they lived wasn’t taken very well by some people. Protests of how the humans were going to survive without eating the Pokemon, or likewise how that if Pokemon or Humans killed each other in their same raced fighting, why should the opposite species have to suffer in death? The gods responded to the first accusation by creating a third species for the planet. These creatures weren’t capable of learning moves and powers like the Pokemon; all they had was whatever tough hide or claws they were provided with, these ‘animals’ being very similar to the species on our Earth today, but the animals are seen as only food in this universe, and nothing more.

I response to the second plea, however, the gods were less merciful. They gave the Humans and Pokemon very little help in the matter, simply stating that they needed to work out their own societies, and their own differences from that point on. But, the gods were still compassionate towards their creations, and granted both sides of the spectrum a chance to help themselves live a better life from that point on. Both groups, the Pokemon and Humans, were each offered one collective request, which the god would accept regardless of how stupid it was, but they also told the pair this would be the last request that they would grant them, and that they should make a decision which they are certain that will aid the generations below them for evermore. The Humans and Pokemon went away in their collective groups, and began to discuss the thing that they wanted the most for the years to come. The Human elders discussed for little under a week, and came up with something that they thought vital to their survival. The Humans asked for the ability to defend themselves. The Pokemon had energy attacks, tough armour and various other means of protection, so why shouldn’t the humans? The animals even had ways of surviving which the humans didn’t posses. The gods, being kind, went away to think how they would grant humanities wish.

The gods returned to the humans and granted the wish with the snap of their fingers, the humans giving puzzled remarks to the gods as they explained the wish had been granted. One of the humans, a man who had been previously linked to a Magmortar, accused the gods of lying, which the gods denied instantly. Extremely angry at being tricked, he lashed out his arm towards the gods, and found himself launching a huge burst of fire at the gods (which, of course, did nothing). He apologised immediately after for doubting the gods, and his life was graciously spared by the gods. Leaving the humans to test out their powers (after warning them to be careful, mind), the gods moved over to the Pokemon, giving them the same chance of making a wish. The Pokemon spent a lot more time on the thought than the Humans did, and didn’t respond to the gods for three whole years. When they did respond, however, they gave a wish that in the gods eyes was a lot more to be proud of than the humans wish. They wished for eternal freedom, being captured by no man for the rest of their days on the planet. The gods satisfied their wish, and then seeing both groups as happy, left the world, and departed into other parts of the universe to continue their job of creation once again.

Ten Thousand Years after the Requests

Both Man and Pokemon alike eventually grew to forget the work that the gods had done for their people, but nonetheless, they still retained the link between each-other, and now held each-other in the highest respects possible. The humans had advanced far more in the years, and had now split into many different factions of people, building large cities and towns with technologies thought impossible in the older days, having huge amounts of people living in what had now become several different country states. Likewise, the Pokemon population had soared through the roof with no natural predators, having exactly the same amount of people as the humans, simply because of the link that meant when a Pokemon was born, a human would be born too. It was the law, and nobody questioned the laws of nature, ever. Except one person.

His name was Aragi Soressen, a thirty year old professor from one of the smaller towns, who had devoted his entire life to finding the link between the Pokemon and the humans, mainly in an attempt to find a way to switch his partner Pokemon. You see, Soressen was born to two small town parents, in a small village in one of the quieter parts of the world. From a young age, he always thought bigger than his moral place in society would allow. It annoyed him deeply, and drove him to the point where he hated all of those who were higher in the ranks than him, secluding himself to laboratories in his home town, funded by the money he could win by gambling in the village. He was determined to get higher in the ranks of society, but to do so he needed to get rid of the thing tying him down the most. His partner Pokemon, a Rattata. He tried everything possible he could think off, including killing other humans in an attempt to gain their partners, but none of it worked. In the end, he surrendered his efforts and went via a more simple way. Praying. Even though the world of Symphina was a godless planet, he still thought it was worth a try, as surely someone was watching somewhere. Surely someone would care. And apparently, someone did care. A lot.

This gods name was Darkrai. Perhaps the most corrupt Pokemon in existence, Darkrai had been banished to the deepest pits of an empty universe for countless years, sitting, watching, and planning his revenge on the worlds. At this point he had still not thought of any worthy plans to fight back against Arceus, rather, he was interfering in many of his finest creations, changing history for the worse simply to annoy the stronger gods. He wasn’t even particularly looking for anything at this point, but when he heard the prayer, he saw an opportunity to mess in one of Arceus finest success stories, something he would not pass up willingly. Happy to help the man, Darkrai informed Soressen of the only possible way to remove yourself from your Pokemon partner. Murdering the partner yourself. At first, Soressen was reluctant. Even he somewhat believed the stories of the Pokemons holiness, and wasn’t sure if he should trust the god. But soon enough he gave in to temptation, and headed out to find the Pokemon.

As any other human, Soressen could summon his spirit partner to meet him at any time should he want to, at any place also, and the Pokemon would be forced to oblige. So, Soressen summoned the Pokemon to meet him in a dark, deserted part of some woods near his home village, and upon meeting Soressen picked up his partner and promptly smashed his head against a tree, killing the poor Pokemon. Instantly, Soressen lost the limited normal type powers he possessed, but yet, he was still alive. He found himself free at last from the spirit, and felt completely alone in the world. At least, until Darkrai seeped in. Finally finding a way to regain some form of power, Darkrai sent his entire soul into the mans body, Soressens little conscience soon vanished, as well as all the mind and willpower left in him. Darkrai was now in a human body, and without a spirit Pokemon connection to hold him down, he could truly wreak havoc of his own once again.

Searching through Soressens old plans, he came across the design for a ball, which had the perfect design for capturing Pokemon and shrinking them down to fit inside the ball until called for action. Apparently, the reason that the item had been scrapped was the fact no real energy source could provide it with the power to capture the Pokemon. Thankfully, Darkrai knew of an energy source he could use to power these Pokemon Balls, a energy source not often discussed by the world. Aura. The reason aura is so rarely discussed as a power source choice is what you have to get through to obtain it. Aura can only be gained through the murder of either a Pokemon or a man, and then absorbing the residue from the link that connected them to their partner. Using this energy, you can power almost anything, or even command it in battle if you’re powerful enough to do so. Darkrai was a clever god, mind, and had worked out fairly quickly that any one of these Pokemon Balls would only require one batch of aura energy to power permanently, but he also figured out it would only be able to control one Pokemon at a time, and more importantly, any mortal man would most likely be overwhelmed by simply holding more than one of these balls at any one time. Lucky for Darkrai, he was no mortal man.

Creating over 50 of these Pokemon Balls, Darkrai decided that even with his power the maximum he would be able to control was five or six, so he needed to gain a few followers, and by a few, forty seemed an adept amount. In order to prove to the people he would meet that his Pokemon Balls really worked, he grabbed one and headed towards the first place that popped into Soressens head; his parents house. Walking inside, Darkrai killed Soressens mother with a flick of his finger, absorbing the bond between her and her Glameow and using the aura power to create the first working Pokemon Ball. Darkrai was pleased with the success, and instantly began to plot what Pokemon he would capture with the device. Things like Rattatas and Pidgeys were far too small time…he needed something big. Deciding at last, he made his way to the deep caverns underneath the planets crust, and made his way out with the first captured Pokemon since the days of the original war. Glad of his power, he afterwards made his way to one of the more populated areas of the region, thinking fear would most likely be a perfect way of getting soldiers on side.

Walking straight into the town center, he released his Pokemon out into the square, a large armoured tank of a Metagross, who instantly overwhelmed the people of the town. Within hours over 200 had been massacred by the creature, before it was returned to its Pokemon Ball. Darkrai was pleasantly surprised to find that his plan had worked, and he had much more than the required forty he needed. In fact, he probably had double what he needed. A perfect amount. He told the eighty that only forty of them would be able to join him, and the other forty would die. Anyone that tried to run would be killed. He smiled as he watched the people fight each other to the death, and absorbed the auras from the dead and imprinted them into the remaining pokeballs, handing them to each of the survivors afterwards. He told them all to capture fairly powerful Pokemon and meet him in another of the largest cities, in fact, the capital itself.

Meeting as a group in the town center, they went unnoticed until Darkrai gave the order to a attack, at which point 41 angry Pokemon came ripping out of their balls, fighting and killing many of the people in the town. Darkrai smiled. He had captured the Pokemon of the planet, something thought impossible, and would soon have destroyed one of Arcues greatest successes. Or at least, he thought that was what was going to happen. He didn’t count on one thing though; The Pokemons request working. Suddenly, in the midst of the battle, all of the Pokemon Balls simply snapped in two, the Pokemon immediately stopping in their tracks, and turning around, extremely angry at being captured by the men. A bloodbath occurred soon after. Of the 7 men who survived, six where sent to prison, and the last one, well, he ran. He ran as far away as he could, across continents and oceans to get somewhere to hide, and eventually, he died of old age, Darkrai finally fleeing his body, and returning to the space he inhabited once more, and once again pulling pranks on Arcues feeble creations.

Now, 80 years after the Slaughter

A thirty year old professor had discovered the lab where Soressen did his research, and most importantly, his blueprints. He has taken the blueprints for the Pokemon Ball for himself, reading the various notes Darkrai had scribbled on, and decided he would do what the ‘great’ Pokemon trainer could not. Andrew Marshall is his name, and with a collective group of about twenty different volunteers, (who will willingly kill their partners when the time comes, but have not yet at this point), he is confident that this time round the Pokemon Balls will be able to capture any and all Pokemon that he will throw them at. After he deals away with a little bump in the road. You see, Marshall is a clever Professor, and has certainly done his research before this point, believing that he has discovered the location of the keystone which was created by Shaymin and Arceus all those years ago. He personally believes that the keystone, if broken, will allow for the capture of Pokemon, and therefore allow him to do what Soressen failed at in the past, and become a true master.

Marshall bragged a bit too much about what he has done, however, in fact, it is now common knowledge to the authorities of many of the nations what he is about to do. As such, the leaders of most of the separate nations have decided as one body that something needs to be done about this. So, each individual nation has put out a request for any people wanting a real adventure, an expedition to previously unknown territory. Depending on the nation, people of any age or type can join the campaign, but be informed that the governments will tell you very little of what’s going on until you’re so deep in that you can’t wade yourself back out again. This man needs to be stopped from doing what he’s attempting to do, as none of the separate bodies want to see what happened prior to now happen again. And they certainly don’t want anything to damage the peace that has been held in the nation for so long prior to the event. They need you, but are you willing?

The Seventeen Powers:

Due to the link that the Humans have been given with Pokemon, and the request they made countless years ago, Humans have been granted with numerous abilities all dependent on the Pokemon that they have been chosen to be spirit partners with. The Pokemon is chosen by fate upon birth, and no human or Pokemon has any say in the matter; you’re stuck with your partner until either one dies. As such, some despise their partners ‘for not being the right type’ or ‘not giving them good enough powers’, when in reality, all of the different ability types can be deadly with enough training and determination. Here are the seventeen different ability types, and generally the variety of what they can do. The attacks listed here are very standard and useable by all of the chosen type should they be put in the moveset.

Bug: Bugs are on of the more diverse of the Types, simply because of the large amount of different defences the bug type as a whole has provided for itself. The diverse nature of the type means that the humans are also similarly unique in the fact very little humans will share the same types of abilities, and as such, it relies very much so on whatever Pokemon the spirit is connected too. For example, those connected to a Spinarak will have the ability to produce silk webs out of their hands or body, as well as being able to launch webs out to trap opponents in their sticky restrictions. Vespiqueen spirit partners often have the ability to summon swarms of tiny insects to their command, the creatures attacking any human their master wishes them to do so on. Some humans will gain advanced features from the Pokemon, such as increased speed, or much higher jumping span; even some humans will gain the light producing properties of Volbeat and Illumise. The fact is, the type is so diverse, I have little more to say on the matter.

Examples of Bug moves:
  • String Shot: The user creates a thin string like substance from the tip of their fingers, and launches it rapidly out of their hands towards the enemy, the substance wrapping around them and preventing movement.
  • Drain Fang: The user sneaks up on the enemy, and leaps out and bites them on the arm, neck or shoulder, absorbing energy out of their body at a quick pace until they are either knocked away or the opponent is completely empty.

Dark: A Typing hidden in the darkest alleys of the main cities, Dark Types generally do not like to make their presence known to others, as regardless of how evil or powerful a Person is, they will be avoided at any possible point. It’s not shunning to the extent of the Ghost Type, no, the Dark Type can live perfectly fine in most societies, able to get jobs and live normal, not standing out lives. But that’s the problem. Dark Types have no chance of getting any form of good job, or any recognition in society, apart from being recognised as criminals should they break the law at any point. Dark Types are forced to not think big by their parents, and if their parents are lax about this, their children as a majority end up in prison. The Dark Type itself is actually quite fascinating, the ability to control shadows, as well as slip through them to other locations like teleporting, is very useful for any want-to-be thieves, as well as detectives or P.Is for that matter. Dark Type people, contrary to some belief, can work their abilities perfectly fine in sunlight, as if you think about it, shadows are stronger in the direct glaze of the sun.

Examples of Dark moves:
  • Shadow Claw: The user coats their hand in shadow energy, creating three sickles of darkness that stick out of the hand like a claw. The user then strikes the enemy with their claw, damaging them.
  • Shadow Sneak: The user absorbs themselves into their own shadow, and then stretches their shadow in various directions in order to move from A to B without being spotted, coming out of their shadow at the other end when its stretched.

Dragon: The Dragon Type is thought by many to be the very epitome of beauty itself, the valiant swooping down from the sky of the Dragonite, Altaria and Salamence Humans. The elegance and passion of the Kingdra of the sea. The earthshaking terror of the Dragons of the ground, and the legendary grace of the Lati@s. The Dragon Humans are no different, taught by their elders to believe themselves to be the pure blooded royals of the Pokemon World, above every other species of the world simply because of the draconic gifts they have been given, which vary from person to person. Some people gain the fire breathing powers of the dragons, whereas others gain the elegant wings. Some gain sharp claws, or clawed feet, whereas others are gifted with large height and strong muscles. Dragon Typing is truly a diverse type, and as such, any characters made for this type will need a bit of imagination put into their skills and abilities.

Examples of Dragon moves:
  • Dragonbreath: The user breaths out a jet of draconic flames, the heat burning flesh and even occasionally paralysing the enemy.
  • Dragon Claw: The user runs at the enemy, their claw hand filled with dragon energy, and slash them across their body, infecting the wound with dragon energy and damaging the person deeply.

Electric: Electric Types are considered by many of the states the workers of the world, because of their natural ability to create electricity, a well needed power source for the parts of the world that willingly use electricity. Being paid extreme amounts of money (due to various strikes that involved world-wide blackouts), the Electric Types probably are one of the most well off types a general rule. Don’t be fooled that the Electric Type is weakened by its constant usage in energy business, as currently the Electric Type is at its peak of strength, with thunderous attacks coming down from the sky and shocking opponents, tendrils of electricity wrapping around the opponent and locking them in place, and even electrical discharges to remove the power from machines created by other electric types. Electricity, however, is a deadly thing to use in battle, as a majority of attacks involve shooting electricity through yourself at the enemy. Electric users have killed themselves often in battles by not being skilled enough, or focussed enough at the channelling of the energy, an ancient technique allowing them to survive. So any Electric users, beware of your own strength.

Examples of Electric moves:
  • Zap Cannon: An electric attack which won’t harm the user, the person channels electrical energy into a ball outside of their body, in-between two parted hands, which grows and grows until the user lets it out in a sudden bolt, the energy flying at the opponent at lightning speeds to zap them for massive damage.
  • Chainbolt: A powerful ability, the user willingly allows a bolt of lightning to come down from the sky, and channel through them, coming straight out of their hands and blasting at an enemy. Once it hits one enemy, it splits, and hits two nearby enemies, and then they split into two each, and the chain continues until every person in the nearby area has been electrified. Deadly, but very exhausting.

Fighting: Fighting Types, as expected, are generally the physical strongmen of the world. Not surprisingly having the lowest average IQ for all of the different types, Fighting is not surprisingly used as a type for hard labour, construction work and things of the sort. The Type, as such, is stereotyped as a bunch of dumb ape like people walking around and carrying heavy objects, something that is not true in the slightest. Fighting Types are perhaps the nicest and most friendly of all types. They are always willing to help out people, regardless of what they need help in, and will willingly slave away all the day in order to keep the rest of the population happy. Skilled in their strength, it’s not a surprise that the majority of their attacks are kicks, punches, and over physical attacks. Some have mastered abilities beyond the simple kicking and punching, but the majority stick to physical strength unless they’re double typed.

Examples of Fighting moves:
  • Mega Punch: The user charges their fist with heaps of fighting energy, before running at the enemy and slamming their weak point for massive damage.
  • Hi Jump Kick: Used by the more petit fighting types, the move involves leaping off the ground and flinging yourself towards the enemy, straight down across the sky to kick them hard. If a human misses with this attack, they will keep going forwards and crash into whatever they first hit, doing damage to themselves.

Fire: Possibly one of the most deadly abilities to use, Fire is the number one cause of crime in many of the different kingdoms of the time, simply because of the sheer destructive power that is possesses. Houses burnt to the ground in seconds, people trapped in a pillar of fire, melting walls down in order to get inside buildings and steal things, Fire is really the criminals type. It’s not just the criminals, however, that use fire, as the governments of the world soon figured out that only one type could prevent fire from spreading, and that’s fire. The Police Force, as such, is mainly made out of Fire Types, their manipulative abilities allowing them to stop other peoples flames in their tracks, and allow their co-workers to capture the powerless men, who without their powers, are unarmed. Fire is one of the types that takes a while to master properly, as one simply slip up could be the difference between life and death.

Examples of Fire moves:
  • Fireball: A simple fire move, a person simply focuses some fire energy into a ball and launches it at the enemy.
  • Dancing Flames: Advanced Fire Magic. The flames channelled out of the persons hand will literally come alive, and dance towards any and all living creatures in the area, including the man, and attempt to burn them to shreds without any proper control. It’s possible to stop the flames, but if the caster is killed before the flames cease, the flames will keep moving on eternally until stopped by another Human or Pokemon.

Flying: Flying is the most easy to tell apart from all the other types, simply because of the effect it has upon ones body during a battle. If somebody sees a Flying Type readying for battle, they are instantly distinguishable, simply because of the fact a majority of the Flying Type Users have wings. Flight if actually the most common of all powers, as with other types you’ll usually have other variants of abilities, none quite the same, whereas flight is always classified as flight whatever way you put it. Of course, don’t be under the misinterpretation that flying is all that Flying types can do, because in actual fact, against popular belief, it isn’t. Flying types have a variety wind based attacks at their disposal, including things such as mini tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and even making opponents fly up into the air, before dropping them again from a height. Flying is the second most common type in the world, but can never be used as a lone type due to the fact most Flying Pokemon are also considered ‘normal’, something that scientists could never get their brains around.

Examples of Flying moves:
  • Flight: The user grows wings for as long as they need them, and can use them to fly around the battlefield, or in day to day uses.
  • Air Gun: The user creates a ball of wind in his left hand, and then moves his fingers into the position of a gun, pulling an invisible trigger and launching the air across the area to hit the opponent for good damage.

Ghost: Ghost is perhaps the most curious of all type, simply because of the lack of people that have the typing, as well as the powers it provides to its users. Many of the Ghost Type people have lived far past their expiration date, simply because of the fact the ghostly energies seemingly last forever, and as such, so do the people. You’d think, then, that because of the long ages of the Ghost Types, you’d see them often in the world. Well you’d be wrong. Many of the states have banned any Ghost Type humans to enter their kingdom, as it’s considered an omen to the people living there. Its sad, as the Ghost Types have very lonely existences in the few areas they live in, but make great guards for prisons, and other jobs that involve protecting items. The ghosts have a variety of abilities, ranging from walking through walls, to levitating and also to create a shadowy energy not dissimilar to dark, except that the Ghostly energy can’t affect the Normal type due to the stark opposition the two types hold for each-other.

Examples of Ghost moves:
  • Levitation: The user floats in mid-air for a limited amount of time to dodge enemy attacks.
  • Shadow Ball: Similar to the in game version, Shadow Ball is a orb of energy which can be charged to any extent before being launched at the enemy. It’s able to pass through solid objects if wanted, but you must continue to focus on the attack at all times, or it will just explode mid-flight (or mid-charge)

Grass: Grass Typing is basically the ability to use nature to your advantage, by manipulating plants and the natural weapons they produce in order to fight their enemy. Depending on their spirit partner, Grass can be a very diverse type. Abilities range from using Powders to force your enemy asleep, summoning razor sharp leaves to fling at enemies telepathically, or summoning vines and roots from the ground bellow to tie up and trap the enemy, or squeeze all the life out of them. Considering what the abilities involve, the Grass Types find their powers best at use in forests, or farms, where along with Water Typers they make great farmers, growing the crop and spreading the seeds in seconds. Along with other typing, Grass Types can be deadly in combat, and they generally are good at working in teams, as long as the other team members know how to react to certain moves the Grass Type possesses.

Examples of Grass moves:
  • Vine Whip: The Grass Type forces a root or vine to come soaring out of the ground, and then whip the enemy rather harshly to cause much pain. Can also be used to trip opponents up mid battle.
  • Ultra Drain: A extremely powerful Grass Move, Ultra Drain literally absorbs the life out of an opponent, and sucks it into their own body, restoring health, energy supplies, and in some case getting younger by regaining life.

Ground: Ground Typing is often thought of as Rock Magic, and likewise the other way round. This is not true, however, as there are several stark differences that separate the two Types. The main difference is the things that the two types manipulate. Ground manipulates the earth itself, whereas Rock can only manipulate things detached from the Earth. Ground is the most used magic in the desert states, where, using the desert surface, they can push themselves along the ground at rapid speeds to get to their destination, shifting the sands (that falls under grounds jurisdiction) to allow rapid movement through the area. Ground Typing can be deadly, with sandstorms, Earthquakes and landslides all part of their work, and as such, Ground Types are not allowed to use their powers anywhere near the main cities, only out in the desert or other areas around towns. They aren’t hated as much as types such as Dark and Ghost, but they are still considered dangerous to the people.

Examples of Ground moves:
  • Sand Tomb: Summoning sand from around themselves, the Ground Type forms the sand around an enemy, forming a solid tomb and trapping them inside, slowly choking the opponent, or restraining them.
  • Earthquake: Stamping their feet down hard on the ground, the Ground Type will create the effects of a mini earthquake, shaking through the area around and knocking down people, buildings and vehicles in an instance.

Ice: Ice is strangely one of the easier Abilities to control, simply because of how simple their whole ability range is. All they can do, really, is make things colder, or freeze things. That’s it. What they then do with the cooled down things, or frozen things, however, is an entirely different matter. 1000 years ago, a group of heartless Ice abilitys were sick of their power being known as the easiest to master, so they practised their skills. They practised and practised and practised until they believed they were ready, and headed to the Kings quarters of a nation once grand. Using their icy powers, the legends tell us that they only really wanted to kill the King and then take over for themselves, but not even they could foresee how powerful they had gotten in the time they were training. Unleashing their most powerful attacks, the entire kingdom was instantly frozen by the power, and has stayed preserved for the thousand years, the whole kingdom stuck in time inside a large dome of ice. Since that time, the Ice users have accepted that they shouldn’t ever attempt to use their power for selfish needs, and have since become great healers, Ice energy apparently great at healing wounds of the fallen.

Examples of Ice moves:
  • Deep Freeze: A less advanced version of the move used on that kingdom, the user unleashes a large amount of freezing energy around themselves, freezing all enemies but also trapping themselves inside the ice until they are freed.
  • Ice Cure: A very common Ice move, the user sends a small amount of energy onto the allies wound, somehow causing it to become uninfected, and allowing the wound to heal over much quicker.

Normal: Normal, similar to the Bug type, has a very diverse range of abilities, but on thing remains the same in all Normal types. The fact their moves are so bland. You won’t see any of their moves involving flashing lights or pretty colours, only deadly but simple moves that the whole community neglects. You see, Normal Types are a lot more powerful than people give them credit for, with a huge variety of moves at their disposal, they are in fact one of the strongest types. Even the supposedly weak Rattata has a powerful move, its fangs able to tear apart flesh in minutes. People with the abilities of a Smeargle are the finest artists the world have ever seen, making beautiful masterpieces in seconds, and the sound based Pokemon such as Whismur, Loudred and Exploud able to completely rip apart the insides of a humans mind with the extremely large noises and shockwaves they create. The most underestimated type of all, don’t forget to hold it in high regard, or your foolishness may well be your downfall.

Examples of Normal moves:
  • Hyperfang: The most powerful move of several Normal Types, the users fang is charged with Normal Energy, before the user then bites down extremely hard on the opponent, causing excruciating pain, and most likely killing them should the right body part be bitten.
  • Helping Hand: A friendly Skill, Helping Hand is a chant cast by a human to send aiding energy into an ally, helping them to fight better in the coming battle.

Poison: The Poison Type is perhaps the most disgusting of all types, simply because of the horrid smells and liquid ooze that forms the majority of moves made by the Pokemon. Producing toxic gasses from their mouths, Poison Types are often used in criminal syndicates either during interrogation, and also should their boss want the opponent to suffer a slow, horrid death. They’re even used as threats in certain police forces, as it seems the thing that many criminals fear the most is death by poison, or even worse, being kept alive after being gassed or worst. The Poison type is dangerous for the long time effects it produces, people being without smell, hearing or other senses for the rest of their lives simply because of one bad confrontation. Poison Types can also be used in other business, including the waste business, which benefits majority from their workers ability to turn all the rubbish into slime, which is then washed away by rivers and streams into the ocean, which absorbs the slime and makes it anew.

Examples of Poison moves:
  • Sludge Bomb: The user melts an object of their choice into sludge, which is then thrown at the enemies face, temporarily blocking their senses from working.
  • Smokescreen: The user breathes out a pitch black smoke from their mouth, which blankets the area and makes sight difficult.

Psychic: Psychic is perhaps the Type which requires physical strength the least, simply because there are little to none physical Psychic attacks, as most of the focus of the Type is directed towards the mental side of the humans. The People of the Psychic Type are often born with a great thirst for knowledge, and many of the top professors of Symphina are Psychic Types, simply because of the huge capacity for knowledge that their enhanced brains posses. Common methods of fighting as Psychic types are telekinesis, telepathy and Hypnosis, all three of the abilities are amply used among the community, but a strange fact is that Hypnosis and Telepathy can no affect over Psychic types. Scientist believe it’s because all Psychic types share the same wavelength, but nobody can really be certain. The Psychic type also shares a much stronger bond with their Pokemon counterparts than any of the other Types, simply because both the Pokemon and Human can read each-others minds, as well as send messages directly to each-other from afar. This also means Psychic types will have very little chance of joining Marshalls campaign, simply because their Pokemon will see them coming to kill them, and flee.

Examples of Psychic moves:
  • Hypnosis: Used my many Psychics, this ability simply puts the enemy into a deep sleep, allowing them to be moved, captured, or have anything done to them the scientists please. It can’t, contrary to popular belief, be used to control peoples actions.
  • Psybeam: A beam of Psychic energy produced from the users mind, it then follows the opponent around the area, avoiding objects and such like intelligent life, and slams into them for hard damage.

Rock: Rock Typing is different to Ground Typing in the fact that rather than using the earth itself for its advantage, it uses things detached from the earth, mainly, rocks, sticks, and various other objects you’ll find lying around on the ground. Rock Types were originally believed to only manipulate rocks, as their name suggests, but over time it was discovered that they are in fact masters of telekinesis, and can use any natural weapon that isn’t attached to the ground for their advantage. Of course, Rocks are still the preferred type of weapon, considering the Rock Types ability to summon rocks from practically anywhere on the planet that isn’t covered in water, and even then summoning rocks is possible if needed, detaching themselves from the seabed. Rock Types and Ground Types are often used in combination with each-other because of their similarities.

Examples of Rock Moves:
  • Rock Blast: Summoning three to five rocks depending on the location, the human will then launch the rocks one after another at the enemy, the objects breaking when hitting a solid object.
  • Sticks and Stones: Several stones and twigs are levitated into the air, and all launched at the enemy at once, in an attempt to impale and damage them with the sharp and heavy objects.

Steel: Steel is the most defensive of all of the various Types, simply for the fact it provides the hardest armour that any man has yet managed to make. By loading their energy into their own body, they can produce a coat of steel armour which protects themselves from enemy attacks (excluding those of the fire and psychic types). They also have the ability to turn normal items to steel, and even their own fists into metal, allowing them to be almost as great physical workers as the Fighting Type. On their own, Steel Types are generally used as protective tanks, or guards of items of some sort, as they’re pretty hard to get past in the eyes of a theif. But combined with another type (Like Fighting or Rock) they are giants, almost unstoppable by physical means, and brilliant for sending in on the front lines of battles. When fire touches the armour of a steel Type, the Steel Type will soon find themselves on the brink of death due to horrible burns, so steel types should generally avoid fire types.

Examples of Steel Moves:
  • Iron Armour: An extremely common move, the user coats themselves with heavy metal armour. It does not prohibit their speed, as they can make it as light as they wish on their body.
  • Dagger Rain: Sends a blast of metal energy directly upwards into the clouds, causing the clouds to darken, and begin to rain. Soon, however, the opponent will find that it isn’t water coming down on them, but thousands of sharp daggers.

Water: A fairly common Ability due to the amount of fish Pokemon in the world, the Water Typing is very diverse in the different types of abilities they have. Including the likes of breathing underwater, hydrating or dehydrating somebody’s body, creating massive whirlpools of water, or even, when in combination of five or six water Types, creating a great Tidal Wave to wash over the beaches of the land. Quite a lot of Water users have over recent years disassociated themselves from the rest of society, building large underwater cities in which the people can live happily with the Pokemon away from the prying eyes of the rest of the world. Any attempts by non-water Types to find the cities end in death, simply because of how deep the city was built in attempt to avoid all contact with everyone else. Other water users are often hired on farms due to the rain bringing abilities some of them possess, managing to water all the crops on the farm within seconds.

Examples of Water Moves:
  • Aqua Jet: The user submerses themselves in water, and uses the water in a jet like fashion to force themselves across the battlefield at the enemy.
  • Rain Dance: The user dances spiritually to the lesser gods of sunshine and rain, Groundon and Kyogre. Kyogre responds to the plea by using his watery powers to make it rain on the users wished location for a limited amount of time.

It's that one guy
Locations of Symphina

The Collective Union of Relgran: A large state, largest of all in fact, located in the northeast of the planet, and taking up over a sixth of all the planets Land. Bordered by the Relgrainian Ocean, this state is a huge place for trade, factories, and quite often thieves. The Police Force of this state is so heavily stretched, it’s impossible for the King, Alexander VI, to maintain control over much of his territory. This is one of the locations where Ghost Types are considered an Omen, and as such, any Ghost Types found will be killed upon arrest. The adventurers will be summoned here upon accepting their quest, and will meet with the grand council of Symphina (A combination of the four main kingdoms, Relgran, Fovia, Laze and) and will be sent on their way from there. Names given to young are generally those you would find around the 19th Century.
Notable Locations in Relgran
Nesirin Port: The worlds largest port, Nesirin (pronounced Nee-sir-in) is where all the supplies are sent into the kingdom, as well as the location for travellers from foreign lands to enter. The most heavily guarded part of the kingdom due to smuggling.
Deleras: The home of the King of Relgran, and the kingdoms largest city, with millions of people calling the industrial city their home. A large library is located in the city, with the largest book supply in the entire world. Water Typers are on guard at all times of the place.

Sabian Island: Sabian island, in almost all senses, is a prison island, where those who have not committed crimes evil enough for death (excluding water types of course) are sent here to live out their sentence in the shadowy regions of the towns. A place where Dark and Ghost Types move by choice, the small villages that build up the island are painted with dark colours, and the dreary lack of Pokemon life shows the misery of those living there. Those who are born there are raised to hate all authority, excluding that of their parents, who they’re taught its morally wrong to disobey.
Notable Locations in Sabian
Twilight Town: The largest town on the island, it houses roughly a thousand people.

Narsir Island: A desert island, the Ground and Rock cultures find themselves living happily here, the desert providing plenty of space for them to train their abilities, and the government is made up of Rock and Ground Types anyway, so no prosecution for using their abilities in public. Some Fire types also chose to make their home here, simply because of the fact it’s the most distant island from any land, as well as extremely hot most of the year. There are two surviving settlements in the harsh climate, Ezerah and Sherbia, the former holding the nations government.
Notable Locations in Narsir
Ezerahs ruins: A collection of ruins left behind by a nation thousands of years past, the ruins are said to contain wild treasure, but very little has been found at this point of any worth.

Rolin City: A city very much like the cities we have on Planet Earth, the Queen of Rolin (a Dragon Type) has completely banned the use of any abilities in the entire kingdom. None at all can be used. Using powerful psychic wizards, she has created a charm over her entire kingdom, that if any abilities are indeed used, the charm will trace the precise location of whoever used their abilities, and the person will be removed from the country. The people are taught not to believe the abilities exist, and if children ask about their abilities, people will simply reply that the children are hallucinating, or have had too much sunlight. Rolin refuses to make contact with any of the other states, except Relgran, and even then for trading of items in a hidden of city location.
Notable Locations in Rolin
The Sceptre of Power: What’s commonly believed as a large statues in the center of Rolin is actually a large beacon on which the charm is sustained, flowing through the whole city like an invisible charm. It is firmly stuck into the ground, so no foolish Ground Types can uproot it at all, and if attempted, the government will find out.

Fovia: The most relaxed of all nations, Fovia has no overlording government, or leader, simply several elders who stand for their own individual towns. As such, any representatives for the council in Deleras are not in reality from Fovia, but instead spokespeople that have to spend many nights going through all of the elders requests in order to find those that are most pressing, and therefore worth putting forwards. No Police Force is instated in Fovia, as all people are expected to protect their own belongings, and if they can’t do that, they shouldn’t own the items in the first place. Children are brought up in a relaxed environment, and told to use their powers freely if they want to. The place itself is actually covered in beautiful fields, forests and rivers, and is perhaps the most natural of all nations.
Notable Locations in Fovia
The Forest of Eternal Life: Said to be the most peaceful place on the planet, Celebii are rumoured to live here happily in their hundreds, flying through the sky and freely living with all the other natural Pokemon that live in the gigantic forest. This forest has remained relatively untouched by humans thus far, several men watching the border of the forest and insuring that people are friendly towards the woods.

Laze: The word ‘democracy’ means nothing in Laze, where only one type has a right to rule supreme over the others, Electric. The King of the area, Zaldin, has made sure that only Electric Types are allowed to have any high ranking positions in government or the community, using his overlord like tactics to strike fear into the hearts of those who appose him. His Kingdom itself is actually a fairly normal climate, similar to that of a place like England, with average summers and average winters, neither of the climates stretching to particular highs or lows, except in the Thunder Plains. With the mass amount of electric types that live in the towns and cities of Laze, so do mass amounts of Electric Pokemon, drawn by the powerful storms of the area.
Notable Locations in Laze
The Thunder Plains: A huge barren series of wastelands that covers large parts of Laze, (as well as a small part of Fovia) the Thunder Plains are hugely attractive to the electric type Pokemon, who come from near and far to live amongst the strong electrical discharges, as well as the deep caves that exist in the area, perfect for dark types.
Linten: Linten is the capital city of Laze, and is a huge industrial feat, with electric Typed men powering absolutely anything. You can’t walk through the cities, as a strong electric discharge is spread everywhere that’s outside a building. You can, however, call for a taxi like vehicle called a Yerton, which works very similarly to a taxi, taking you wherever you want to go, except you are driven by a man standing up and waving his arms in a strange fashion rather than a cab driver.

Morpia: Morpia is a area of the world covered completely in a thick bubble of frozen energy, unable to pop or break into. Inside is believed to be the ruins of a once great nation, frozen one day by a group of overly powerful Ice Types, who were also frozen inside the blast. The plains around are a attraction for Ice Type Pokemon, with snow and hail falling daily due to the effect the frozen energy has on the climate.
Notable Locations in Morpia
The Outer Layer: The only notable location in Morpia, as it’s the only one visible. What lies beyond the barrier is completely unknown.

Sandaeris: The underwater kingdom of Sandaeris was created by the Water Typers many years ago as a place where no land dwellers could go. The city is completely submerged underwater, and requires great swimming talent and ability to get too. Once there, however, one need no longer have any water abilities, as the area is covered by a large air bubble, allowing it to be perfectly normal like any other city. Because of the lack of methods of getting there, and the lack of Water People willing to talk, many will always have no clue how the city looks.
Notable Locations in Sandaeris
The Council Building: Although only the water types know where, the state has a council somewhere within the city. It acts as a place for their people to discuss their current situation, as well as propose new changes. It is also the house of law; any wrongdoers come here to be prosecuted. The most horrible punishment achievable is banishment from the kingdom, as it is permanent, and force them to live with the land dwellers with no say on the matter.

Sign Up Sheet:

Name: The Name of your character, should be fairly obvious. Remember, depending on what part of the world you live in, your name will be different styles.
Age: Obvious. Lifespan is the same here as for normal humans, and no, Bug Types will not live 6 week lives.
Sex: Male or Female. Pretty straightforward.
Hometown/Area: What part of the world are you from?
Chosen Pokemon: I am actually going to be pretty lenient on what you can chose as a partner Pokemon. For this RP, the spirit partner will greatly affect how you roleplay, so make sure you chose one you’re confident with. I am allowing legendary Pokemon to be used, as they are considered common in this case, for example, the Celebii living in the Forest of Eternal Life. Some Pokemon are banned, though for reasons that shall be explained. The banned Pokemon consist of Arceus, Shaymin, Deoxys and Darkrai (as they are all gods), Groudon, Kyogre, Palkia, Diagla and Girantina (sub-gods), Regirock, Regice and Registeel (Supposedly man made, yet man doesn’t have this ability in this RP), Porygon, Porygon 2 and Porygon Z (again, man hasn’t got this technology.) Metwo and Mew (For Mewtwo, same reason as before. For Mew, it’s also going to be considered a God). Anyone thinks I should add more Pokemon to this banned list, let me know. Once your Pokemon is chosen, I’ll give you its location for reasons that will be important later on in the story, but not necessarily needed now.
Appearance: Two Paragraphs of description about your character (5 lines per paragraph, I’d hope) but I’d prefer longer if you can manage.
Personality: Again, minimum two paragraphs, hopefully more.
History: Possibly one of the most important categories, as it really allows you to be creative. 3 Paragraphs plus, and this is the section I want you to impress me in, so more is better. Notice how I’ve left so much blank in the locations section? This is because I want Rpers to help invent the place too, and to leave surprises for the rest of the RP.
Skills: Does your character have any other skills apart from the abilities? Maybe they’re a fast runner, or a talented artist. Nothing is too insignificant to be posted here.
Abilities: The option where you have free reign, Abilities. Basically, the current gist of it is this. You’ll create three different abilities based on your character, and what Pokemon their spirit partner in. Using the Types list above, you should be able to invent three moves for your character (I can help if needed) for them to use in roleplay. Personality should affect what moves are chosen also. Once your character is accepted, after reading through all other sections, I’ll check through this and give you two more abilities designed by myself. They will be very ‘fits all of that type’ish, and will be put there to fill in what you don’t have. (For example, if you didn’t give yourself a defensive move). These will be learnt by your character early on in the Roleplay.
Other: Anything that doesn’t fit anywhere else.
RPG Sample: This is to test if you’re up to Rping in this topic. I really want to get far in this RP, and preferably, finish it. I have a vague timeline of how the events will go, so I am intending to see this through to the end, even if its me posting by myself all the time. It can be from a previous RP if wanted, but I’d prefer it made for this as it’s a more current representation of how good you are.

Ending: In case anyone was curious, the first post apparently had too many characters, so I had to split it. I wanted to put just the Sign up in the second post, but even then it was over. So...yeah. Uh, right then. I just thought I’d mention, I’m determined to see this RP through to the end, regardless of how long it takes, and hope at least three or four people like it enough to join. I’m hoping for around ten people to join, but obviously I’ll be happy with five, and I’ll be much more happy with fifteen, but I doubt that will happen. Any questions about the RP, don’t feel intimidated, ask me. I’m happy to help. And, well, my sign up will come soon.

o_O wow. This is a dedicated rp. It took me almost half an hour to read all this, and I have to say, its very good! I probably will be throwing my hat in the ring at some point. Still, I do have a question or you. Say your spirit pokemon evolves, would that change things? like say from charmeleon to charizard, since he gains a type, would that change the person's power?

It would indeed change the persons power upon evolution, but at first the changes would be only minimal most likely. You'd have to train your evolution type a lot harder than your original type in order to gain moves from it, but yes, you'd gain a second type. You'd know when the Pokemon would have evolved, because you would feel it through the spirit bond. Just the same as when you call feel if your partners in mortal danger (forgot to mention this).

I'm not accepting reservations, as I'm not particullary expecting the sign ups to reach my limit of around 20, so yeah, just get your sign up in when you can.

Great as Expected.

I'm definately gonig to try for here. Although I doubt I'll make it.

First off, thanks for the compliment. xD

Second of all, I personally think Yanmega would be quite a fun type to play. Increased speed and strength from its abilities alone make it quite a formidible Pokemon, and type combination is quite good in my eyes.

Similarily for Latios, I love the combination of Dragon and Psychic, and can see whoever would have the typing would most likely be one of those purists. I mean, the most clever type, and the most 'royal' type. Who wouldn't be boasting a bit after that?

Just thought I'd mention to everyone, my sign up will be a Bronzong character, and your guide through the RP.

just curious, If i wanted my character to have a somewhat shapeshift into their partner type let's say dragonite partner, could I make it where they could succeed, but since they are human, be a human morph? and of course, the attacks and abilities would be weaker than that of a true dragonite :p

Hmm, that was actually my idea for a character. Some really vain guy, who gets knocked off his high horse time after time. Writing him out right now in fact.

I must say, handy, you have a penchant for RPGs that take my interest. Let's hope this one gets off the ground, ay?

I'll probably sign-up as a meek, sort of emo-ish character.

Name: Kio Ikas (Ki-o E-kas just in case you wanna pronounce it :D )

Age: 17

Sex: ♂

Hometown/Area: Fovia

Chosen Pokemon: Dragonite

Appearance:

His face is narrow and his eyes are yellow. His hair is oddly white so he has it cut short and spiked. He is fairly trim, but his muscles are toned to fit him. He wears a green fancy robe with an intricate design featuring a dragonite doing an uppercut with his claw. He modified his robe to have 2 thin, precise cuts at the back so that his wings wouldn't tear holes in it. He wears leather sandals and leather gloves that are dyed green like his robe. His hands, when not covered in scales look like they were never used much in blacksmithing or in anything for that matter. There are no scars on his body due to his aura. Kio's skin color is a light tan as he doesn't stay in the sunlight long enough to tan. His voice is in the treble range and has a childish sound to it. His small height of 4' 10" makes him fairly unnoticable. His weight which is just over 100 pounds doesn't help when he's pushing through crowds.

He has a backpack that could hold enough supplies for a three day trip. He has an sword with a gold finish on the blade. The hilt that the blade sits on is covered in mix of dragon scales and leather, (also dyed green) to make the sword more unique. His wings when he uses them are of similarity to that of a dragonites wing. The wing length is roughly 1' 8" long. His hands that turn somewhat into a claw that he only has 3 sharp claw points and semi-flexible paw/hand. His feet also gains the same properties. His scales when visible are green.

Personality:

He is rather sarcastic and stubborn which is a nasty combination at times. He always has a smart mouth comment ready for any comment he recieves. He can be at times sincere and straightforward, but that side of him is only present if he suffered a deep loss or sometimes while he's experiencing pain. Despite his attitude, he is likable among people and pokemon alike. He seldom keeps himself alone, and when he does, he is usually sulking about something that recently happened.

He loves nothing better than witnessing things that should be kept secret and blabbers it out. A little naive, he may believe something that doesn't really make sense. He keeps most of his secrets to himself and when asked about himself, He'll try to change the subject or say that he has something to do. Given his extreme sides of personality, it is hard for even him to predict what he might say or do to another person. His actions are affected a bit by his mood swings. If he's happy, he'll be more sarcastic and friendly.

He talks mostly about going on adventures to almost anyone listening to him. He also likes to talk about the sky and the weather. Kio tends to irritate people however with his ramblings as he talks too much. When he is serious, he'll drop his sarcastic self and will give blunt answers and drop all pretense of being someone who daydreams a lot.

History:

Born and raised by blacksmiths in Fovia, he was talented in the blacksmithing industry. Even though he wasn't allowed to learn blacksmithing until age 10 he learned from his parents from watching. His mother had a partner who was a normal type while his father was of a rock type for his hardiness attitude. He went to school and made many friends as his parents were well known for their outstanding repair services. He was an ace in mathmatics and english grammer, but he hated learning about history and that of the past. He graduated from the school stuff at the age of 13 and went back home to learn his trade.

At the age of 15, he was a better blacksmith than either of his parents were, but he was modest about the ability to smith better. At the age of 16, both of his parents died when there was an furnace failure and it exploded. The people who analyzed what caused it confirmed that there wasn't any foul play amiss and gave their support to Kio. Devastated by his loss of both parents, he was too shocked to do anything about it but just gape at the news. As it sank into him, he started crying like a child. He shook uncontrollably from the amount of grief he had. Despite people around him giving him support, he shook them away and ran to his hous where he kept himself locked up in the house and refused to respond to the world.

He would have succeeded in killing himself of starvation if it wasn't for a stranger that walked into his room and laid a letter on his table. The stranger studied Kio for a few minutes as he sat staring out of the window. The stranger gave a small sigh and turned to leave as quietly as he came in, but his sigh was heard by Kio who noticed the stranger. Kio demanded weakly of who he was and how did he get in the house. The stranger simply smiled and just pointed at the letter with his very pale finger and disappeared. Angry, but curious about the letter, he weakly got up and opened the letter and looked over it. When he had finished reading it, he weakly smiled as it was from one of his parents old friends. He re-read the letter again and then burned it in the small fireplace his house had.

Finding a new will to live, he left his house at that night with his sword and bag and left town.
He disappeared for a year travelling to places and experimenting with his abilities. He came back to Fovia at the age of 17 where he found his house sold to another family. Not exactly disheartened, he simply worked part time at a few stores to earn some cash to stay in an apartment he was renting. While falling into a routine, he plans on doing more things soon and is simply just saving up some cash for what he'll need down the road.

Skills: First-aid, Blacksmithing, Can draw a little bit, mostly for outlines of weapons or armors.

Abilities:

Dragon Shifting - Kio is able to morph his hands and feet into claws and deal more lethal damage than with his blade alone. He also sprouts wings if he needs to do aerial combat.

Dragon Aura - While not visible unless he has his wings or claws out, his skin is tougher than normal and not as pierceful. While not affected much, his bonees are modified to withstand a little more pressure and stuff when he comes in for landings. His skins has a slight regenerative ability to heal with no scar left behind for small wounds. Larger wounds will leave a scar and won't be affect by the regenerative properties.

Roar of the Present - When he's decided enough is enough, he can unleash an almighty roar that can send all enemies and friends blasting away. While very powerful move, most times he will collapse or even faint after using the move. He very seldom uses it even if it is a dire situation.

Other: He isn't a pervert for those of you who probably got the wrong idea from reading this sign up.

RPG Sample:

"Kio Ikas, how many times do I have to tell you to not sleep in class."

"Only once Ms. Arol."

"Thats not what these grades show young man. You will be doing make-up work while the rest of the class get their free time. Class dismissed."

Kio groaned to himself as he was handed a math test with eight pages front and back. He grumbled to himself as he worked math problem after math problem. He really despised Ms. Arol's strict behavior, but she did teach better than other teachers. He idly twirled his pencil as he tried to plan a way to escape the room. However, the ticking of the clock, the chirping of birds just outside the window, and the faint sounds of child play coming from even further distracted him as he daydreamed. He didn't realize how long he was twiddling his pencil until Ms. Arol was standing infront of him blocking his view out the window.

"I wouldn't plan on escaping from my class. I will grade this and will keep it, so I wouldn't want to skip it and take a zero as my grade young man."

Kio just groaned some more and worked on it some more. He was on the third page when the class came back in and settled themselves. Ms. Arol came to Kio and took his test and told him that he would have to sit in tomorrow and work on it tomorrow or come after school today to finish it up. He just groaned and the class broke out laughing to which Ms. Arol got their attention real quick when she started inhaling. The class immediately quieted down and she exhaled the air slowly.

"Alright class, now I want you to turn to page 48 in your text book and work on problems 2-40, 52-80, all even numbers. I will take this up at the end of the class." She walked back to her desk and took a red ink pen and started going over what Kio had just started working on. Kio mentally groaned and worked on his assignment.

One of Kio's buddies whispered and asked, "Did ya enjoy the detention?" Kio just shook his head and went back to his task. The bell rang and the class left while handing in their papers to Ms. Arol. Kio hung back to talk to the teacher.

"Ms. Arol, why am I always caught, but no one else gets caught when they're doing worse things than me."

Ms. Arol sighed and answered, "That is because you are my top student in this class. You set an example for the class to follow. If you goof up and do nothing but get into trouble, the class will follow you. If you actually kept to the rules and stayed awake like you are supposed to, the class will follow it. Does this answer your question?" Kio nodded and left for his next class.

Blue is for what I'm hoping will be a little more helpful, and the yellow is there that if you don't like it, i'll remove it completely. Also I hope the RP sample is a little better though I think it is probably the same length...

Wow, this RPG looks flat out uh-ma-zing. I am writing my sign up as soon a i post this.

just curious, If i wanted my character to have a somewhat shapeshift into their partner type let's say dragonite partner, could I make it where they could succeed, but since they are human, be a human morph? and of course, the attacks and abilities would be weaker than that of a true dragonite :p

Well, honestly, I'm a bit iffy about full body shapshifting. The skill that it would require to tranform into something as large and as powerful as Dragonite, or transform your whole body at all, would mean that the character would probably have to be in their 60s or older, and have done nothing but practice this one particular art all life. I allow small form shapeshifting, like growing wings, changing your hand into a claw, or growing a tail. But no full body for this RP, I'm afraid.

I must say, handy, you have a penchant for RPGs that take my interest. Let's hope this one gets off the ground, ay?

I'll probably sign-up as a meek, sort of emo-ish character.

This better get off the ground. If it doesn't, I'll be shooting myself in the foot every day since it died. I'm glad your joining though. I bet I can guess your character name...

Why thankyou, I hope your sign up will be uh-maz-ing enough to fit the bill.

Well, cool. Seal of Approval. I'm going to go lock myself in my room and hit myself hard with a stick until it sinks in, and then work on my sign up.

By all means, hazard a guess. I may surprise you yet.

One last question, would latios ability to fly be because of his wings, or psychic power?

Psychic Powers, I'd assume based on anime/the fact it's not a flying type.

Name: Kio Ikas (Ki-o E-kas just in case you wanna pronounce it :D )

Age: 17

Sex: ♂

Hometown/Area: Fovia

Chosen Pokemon: Dragonite

Appearance: His face is narrow and his eyes are yellow.
His hands that turn somewhat into a claw that he only has 3 sharp claw points and semi-flexible paw/hand. His feet also gains the same properties. His scales when visible are green.

Personality: He is rather sarcastic and stubborn which is a nasty combination at times.

History: Born and raised by blacksmiths in Fovia, he was talented in the blacksmithing industry. Even though he wasn't allowed to learn blacksmithing until age 10 he learned from his parents from watching.
Then he simply just lost the will to live and refused to do anything. He kept himself locked up in the house and refused to answer anything. He nearly managed to kill himself of starvation and dehydration if it wasn't for a stranger that walked into his room and left a letter on the table.
Kio noticed the stranger before he left and demanded weakly of who he was and how did he get in the house. The stranger simply smiled and just pointed at the letter with his very pale finger and disappeared. Curious about the letter, he weakly got up and opened the letter and looked over it. When he had finished reading it, he took the letter down to the living room and lit up the fireplace. He burned the letter and went and fixed himself a light meal.
He never revealed what the letter had in it, but he now had the will to move on in life. He left his house at that night with his sword and bag and left town.

Abilities:
Dragon Strike - He uses either his claw or blade and strikes hard with the power of the dragon behind it. It has been known to make wounds take twice the amount to heal due to burned areas around the spot.
Dragon Aura - While not visible unless he has his wings or claws out, his skin is tougher than normal and not as pierceful. While not affected much, his bonees are modified to withstand a little more pressure and stuff when he comes in for landings.
Roar of the Present - When he's decided enough is enough, he can unleash an almighty roar that can send all enemies and friends blasting away. While very powerful move, most times he will collapse or even faint after using the move. He very seldom uses it even if it is a dire situation.

Other: He isn't a pervert.

RPG Sample: While it probably doesn't need a title I'll give one to let ya know what it is.

Mis-adventures.

Kio walked down an old trail in the Forest of Eternal Life admiring the scenery. He didn't know what the trail would lead to as the sign that was at the start of the trail was old and too worn to read. His backpack was getting light and he knew he would have to head back soon or face starving out here in the woods. Despite his mind telling him to turn back, he kept moving forward, curious of what this trail led to. His question was answered all too soon as he found a wooden chest.

He tried to lift up the chest and found out that it was locked. He didn't know what was inside, but he tried lifting up the chest and turned to walk back. What he failed to recognized was that when he lifted up the chest, he lifted it up off of a booby trap. As he took a few steps forward, a huge pitfall opened up and he fell into it. Cursing his luck, he quickly dropped the chest and sprouted his wings out and desperately flapped his wings. He slowed down enough and he attempted to go back up. He didn't know how far he fell, but it seemed like forever as he didn't hear the chest make a single noise as it fell.

When he made it back to the top he collapsed on the ground and panted while his wing disappeared back into his body. He never felt so worn out before and he took a few breathers while he rested his depleted body. When he had the strength to move on, he flew part of the way back as he fled back the way he came from. He decided that this was more than enough to deter him from coming back for a while. At least he thought, until he had some people going with him.
First of all, rather than using Tab or whatever you do, can you please seperate things into paragraphs, as it's much easier for me to read.

I'm going to be generous and say Pending for now, as I don't honestly think it's bad enough to be denied. I suppose it sorta scrapes the bare minimum, but really, when I meant five lines, I meant five line of either a word processor (at a reasonable size, 11 or 12) or serebii itself, which none of your catagories technically fall under excluding history. The history is slightly cliche with the death of parents, and I'm not particullary sure that I like the figure sneaking into his house, and your characters reaction to the whole thing. Regardless of what the note would be, surely you'd be slightly annoyed they didn't knock at the door rather than burst into your room without you seeing?

Also, the sword, what's the point of it really? If you do have the dragon claws (which I'll come onto later), why would you need a sword to carry around with you, weighing you down? The Abilities are okay, I guess, but one thing you have missed out of your abilities is your claw and wings. I should of mentioned this probably, but shapeshifting/growing the wings will need to be counted as one of your three abilties; it isn't natural to just have a claw normally while walking around all day.

Also, Sample is too short. It should really be your best work, not something that is frankly bellow what I'd expect an average post to be. Sorry, but you'll need to do some improving on your sign up if you wish to be accepted.

well I did all of it in notepad cause windows wants to hate word for the time being. I'll go fix it up, sides I needed to take a few hrs off the computer and do something else, perhaps when i fix it up, it'll be more acceptable. That and I'm a little sick so thinking process is a little so, (so give me a break!!! j/k)

About the figure in the house, I'll fix up the details so it isn't a character that you'll have to worry about. I just put it in there to put a little something interesting. D: Bleh let me get myself back to editing the sign-up again. I'll probably end up messing something else up again. It's just my luck.

The weapon is so he doesn't strain himself with constantly using the morph. It's like making Ditto transform and hold the form over a period of time, it just wears you out.

Side note - I hate to burst your bubble, but I'm really bad at RPG samples as I am not gifted well with imagination. Perhaps I can go look for what I think may be my best sample, but I'll say that you may be disappointed.

on a brighter note, I found wordpad after it mysteriously disappeared from my program list

But I must stop editing this post. Really I should.

Quick question, do family members typically share the same type of partners or is it all random?

I think it'd actually be harder to get into here then BG's..

And I'm not really sure about names...

I kind of improvised with randomness so here is the longest sign-up i have ever done and probebly ever will for the next year or two..

Name: Michael Tokan
Age: 14
Sex: Male
Hometown/Area: Fovia
Chosen Pokémon: Shiny Yanmega

Appearance: Michael stands at around 5’2 and has blood red eyes, matching his Pokémon’s eyes. His hair is plain black and covers his ears, it sometimes covers his eyes as well but his vision is mostly unaffected. He wears blue a lot, somewhat because his Pokémon is blue, and because he just likes blue. He wears a thick, blue-dyed, shirt that has four rectangular holes in the back. He needs the holes in the back of his shirt because his wings would break if he attempted to summon them without the holes, they are expanded side ways so he can flap them freely. His pants are loose, short, and dark blue.

There is a belt-like leather strap attached to the top of his pants, a sword dulled from cutting and its sheath was attached to it. The sword’s hilt is black and smooth, but visibly dirty as well. The blade is pretty dull and dirty as well, but can still cut effectively. The sheath is dark blue and far cleaner then the sword it holds, although it still contains visible dirt and stains. His wings are clear, thin, have black markings, and for some reason they resemble normal dragonflies’ wings rather then Yanmega’s/Yanma’s red-marked wings. They break easily, although never from just flapping them. They do not bleed if broken (but pain is still there). But if broken the wings will stay out in the open, broken, until they recover.

Personality: Michael is a very calm, neutral, person. He rarely is sad, nervous, happy, or upset. His face is as neutral as his personality; he rarely frowns or pouts, although he smiled more times then he is excited or happy. He is also very intelligent, learning and thinking of things easily; such as studying (school), watching something, or practicing something. He is cold and blunt and rarely lies to others, unless it helps him or someone close, no matter how much it would hurt them. He is analytical, observing and judging people he sees; aloud or in his head. He points out any flaw he sees from them. At least if he knows who they are, he is also prudent and won’t just yell at or insult any random old person. He, knowingly, makes many enemies this way and has developed a way to ignore any insult. He knows what he is doing and avoids it when talking to or observing his friends, future friends, relatives, or family friends.

He dislikes Dragon and Rock types. He dislikes Dragons for, stereotypically, being full of them selves when they are not very special. He hates how they think they are better just because they have wings, which he and many other bugs and flying types have, breath fire, which fire pokemon can easily do, have tough skin, which bugs, rocks, grounds, and steels are all known to be able to do, and have claws, which many different pokemon partners can do. He dislikes Rock pokemon because of their abilities to levitate and move around rocks. But mostly he dislikes them for ripping his wings on multiple occasions.

History: Michael was born in Fovia to a Heracross-father and a Skarmory-mother. His family owned a small store that sold things such as furniture, wood carvings, clothing, armor, weaponry, and firewood. His father cut certain trees picked by Heracross, he was adept at woodcutting and carving shapes. He made the furniture, carvings, and firewood that were sold, along with the one the family used themselves. His mother was adept at creating and working with steel that she created. She made a small selection of weapons and armors. She was better at being a seamstress and used steel skin to protect her fingers and created needles from steel when she needed to. Their store was popular and they easily made a living.

Michael went to school and passed through it with flying colors, getting ahead quickly. Afterschool he learned how to sew, although he had mainly done it in case he hurt one of his wings and needed to repair it. After he “gave up” sewing he was supposed to help his father cut wood after school. He easily cut down the dead or ill trees with his Air Cutter ability. As he cut the trees with it he began to be able to put more energy into it, making it stronger and faster. He called it the Air Slash afterwards. He also quickly picked up how to carve shapes into spare wood with a knife from watching his father.

Michael trained with Yanma a lot, at least a lot of the times when Yanma visited from his home somewhere in the nearby forest area. Yanma and he trained with others in the field near their town (See RP Sample), changing training partners commonly. When they were around 10 they had been observing and training with someone and their ground type pokemon. Yanma, with his large compound eyes, watched them use the ability Ancient Power. He “told” the other pokemon to continue. As the other pokemon began to get tired Yanma was practicing his new move, Ancient Power. As the rocks rose to surround him, he glowed with bright energy and morphed. He landed briefly to look at himself before speeding away back to the forest, Michael watching him happily.

Skills: Cutting (see History) and sewing.

Abilities:

1. Increased speed, strength, and sight. (Yanmega’s two abilities and the fact that he’s a dragonfly…)

2. Flight: He can gain large wings (I'm not really sure how to describe a dragonflies' wings...) that are very similar to Yanmega's. They can flap very fast and, of course, allow the user to fly. Normally the wings are very fragile and take a few hours for them to recover if hit/torn.

3. Air Slash (Once Air Cutter): Moving the sword in a slashing motion with the wings out launches a crescent of wind. If the sword isn’t use hands can be used in place for a weaker hit (Air cutter, since they are both the same attack with a different attack level, even the same accuracy I think)

Other: Anything that doesn’t fit anywhere else.

RPG Sample: (sorry I suck at these even more then anything else in a sign-up)

Michael stood in the field, looking around at all of the others who had gone out here to train. The ground was constantly rumbling and shifting as ground type people practiced making cracks and holes in the ground. Flying, bug, and dragon types soared through the skies. Wind and Fire were seen colliding and "dancing" as they practiced their abilities. Rocks left around from Ground type activities were levitating around by Rock and Psychic types. Flowers randomly sprouted from the ground. Webs adorned trees. A thin outline was visible in a shadow; a hand came out of a tree. Many powers frenzied together. Smoke form poison and fire-and-water came in random towers around the large field.

He concentrated and his wings soon appeared, flapping already. He smiled as his wings began to flap wildly; he slowly lifted off the ground. After being around 10 feet form the ground he started to sip around quickly as he headed for a tree. He began to only float, as if he was standing on air, as he approached the top of the tree. He moved his right hand to his left hip, drawing his sword. He slashed at the tree from afar; a crescent of wind was launched at the tree. Swirling wind was visible within the small crescent as it comes into the contact with the tree. Leaves began to fly everywhere, pushed by the air. He flew over to the levitating rocks and punched one with his Yanmega strength. The rock cracked and the remaining pebbles fell to the ground. He smiled and landed, his wings retreating so they wouldn't get hurt by anything. He ran back to the town quickly.

He stopped at the information board (like where you would put a missing dog poster) to see if anything had changed in the past few days, as he hadn’t checked it in a while. One poster was larger then the others advertised “An Adventure”. It said the details would be told at the country of Relgran itself. Michael was definitely interested as he ran full speed at home, slowing down only when a large dragonfly pokemon appeared in front of him.

well I don't think I'll be accepted due to probably missing the whole point of RP sample I'm probably missing it right now.
