Name: Michael Tokan
Age: 14
Sex: Male
Hometown/Area: Fovia
Chosen Pokémon: Shiny Yanmega

Appearance: Michael stands at around 5’2 and has blood red eyes, matching his Pokémon’s eyes. His hair is plain black and covers his ears, it sometimes covers his eyes as well but his vision is mostly unaffected. He wears blue a lot, somewhat because his Pokémon is blue, and because he just likes blue. He wears a thick, blue-dyed, shirt that has four rectangular holes in the back. He needs the holes in the back of his shirt because his wings would break if he attempted to summon them without the holes, they are expanded side ways so he can flap them freely. His pants are loose, short, and dark blue.

There is a belt-like leather strap attached to the top of his pants, a sword dulled from cutting and its sheath was attached to it. The sword’s hilt is black and smooth, but visibly dirty as well. The blade is pretty dull and dirty as well, but can still cut effectively. The sheath is dark blue and far cleaner then the sword it holds, although it still contains visible dirt and stains. His wings are clear, thin, have black markings, and for some reason they resemble normal dragonflies’ wings rather then Yanmega’s/Yanma’s red-marked wings. They break easily, although never from just flapping them. They do not bleed if broken (but pain is still there). But if broken the wings will stay out in the open, broken, until they recover.

Personality: Michael is a very calm, neutral, person. He rarely is sad, nervous, happy, or upset. His face is as neutral as his personality; he rarely frowns or pouts, although he smiled more times then he is excited or happy. He is also very intelligent, learning and thinking of things easily; such as studying (school), watching something, or practicing something. He is cold and blunt and rarely lies to others, unless it helps him or someone close, no matter how much it would hurt them. He is analytical, observing and judging people he sees; aloud or in his head. He points out any flaw he sees from them. At least if he knows who they are, he is also prudent and won’t just yell at or insult any random old person. He, knowingly, makes many enemies this way and has developed a way to ignore any insult. He knows what he is doing and avoids it when talking to or observing his friends, future friends, relatives, or family friends.

He dislikes Dragon and Rock types. He dislikes Dragons for, stereotypically, being full of them selves when they are not very special. He hates how they think they are better just because they have wings, which he and many other bugs and flying types have, breath fire, which fire pokemon can easily do, have tough skin, which bugs, rocks, grounds, and steels are all known to be able to do, and have claws, which many different pokemon partners can do. He dislikes Rock pokemon because of their abilities to levitate and move around rocks. But mostly he dislikes them for ripping his wings on multiple occasions.

History: Michael was born in Fovia to a Heracross-father and a Skarmory-mother. His family owned a small store that sold things such as furniture, wood carvings, clothing, armor, weaponry, and firewood. His father cut certain trees picked by Heracross, he was adept at woodcutting and carving shapes. He made the furniture, carvings, and firewood that were sold, along with the one the family used themselves. His mother was adept at creating and working with steel that she created. She made a small selection of weapons and armors. She was better at being a seamstress and used steel skin to protect her fingers and created needles from steel when she needed to. Their store was popular and they easily made a living.

Michael went to school and passed through it with flying colors, getting ahead quickly. Afterschool he learned how to sew, although he had mainly done it in case he hurt one of his wings and needed to repair it. After he “gave up” sewing he was supposed to help his father cut wood after school. He easily cut down the dead or ill trees with his Air Cutter ability. As he cut the trees with it he began to be able to put more energy into it, making it stronger and faster. He called it the Air Slash afterwards. He also quickly picked up how to carve shapes into spare wood with a knife from watching his father.

Michael trained with Yanma a lot, at least a lot of the times when Yanma visited from his home somewhere in the nearby forest area. Yanma and he trained with others in the field near their town (See RP Sample), changing training partners commonly. When they were around 10 they had been observing and training with someone and their ground type pokemon. Yanma, with his large compound eyes, watched them use the ability Ancient Power. He “told” the other pokemon to continue. As the other pokemon began to get tired Yanma was practicing his new move, Ancient Power. As the rocks rose to surround him, he glowed with bright energy and morphed. He landed briefly to look at himself before speeding away back to the forest, Michael watching him happily.

Skills: Cutting (see History) and sewing.

Abilities:

1. Increased speed, strength, and sight. (Yanmega’s two abilities and the fact that he’s a dragonfly…)

2. Flight: He can gain large wings (I'm not really sure how to describe a dragonflies' wings...) that are very similar to Yanmega's. They can flap very fast and, of course, allow the user to fly. Normally the wings are very fragile and take a few hours for them to recover if hit/torn.

3. Air Slash (Once Air Cutter): Moving the sword in a slashing motion with the wings out launches a crescent of wind. If the sword isn’t use hands can be used in place for a weaker hit (Air cutter, since they are both the same attack with a different attack level, even the same accuracy I think)

Other: Anything that doesn’t fit anywhere else.

RPG Sample: (sorry I suck at these even more then anything else in a sign-up)

Michael stood in the field, looking around at all of the others who had gone out here to train. The ground was constantly rumbling and shifting as ground type people practiced making cracks and holes in the ground. Flying, bug, and dragon types soared through the skies. Wind and Fire were seen colliding and "dancing" as they practiced their abilities. Rocks left around from Ground type activities were levitating around by Rock and Psychic types. Flowers randomly sprouted from the ground. Webs adorned trees. A thin outline was visible in a shadow; a hand came out of a tree. Many powers frenzied together. Smoke form poison and fire-and-water came in random towers around the large field.

He concentrated and his wings soon appeared, flapping already. He smiled as his wings began to flap wildly; he slowly lifted off the ground. After being around 10 feet form the ground he started to sip around quickly as he headed for a tree. He began to only float, as if he was standing on air, as he approached the top of the tree. He moved his right hand to his left hip, drawing his sword. He slashed at the tree from afar; a crescent of wind was launched at the tree. Swirling wind was visible within the small crescent as it comes into the contact with the tree. Leaves began to fly everywhere, pushed by the air. He flew over to the levitating rocks and punched one with his Yanmega strength. The rock cracked and the remaining pebbles fell to the ground. He smiled and landed, his wings retreating so they wouldn't get hurt by anything. He ran back to the town quickly.

He stopped at the information board (like where you would put a missing dog poster) to see if anything had changed in the past few days, as he hadn’t checked it in a while. One poster was larger then the others advertised “An Adventure”. It said the details would be told at the country of Relgran itself. Michael was definitely interested as he ran full speed at home, slowing down only when a large dragonfly pokemon appeared in front of him.
I'd personally prefer everything longer, but that's just my perfecionist side speaking. You seem to have done the required amount in every cataogry, so Accepted, for now.

Quick question, do family members typically share the same type of partners or is it all random?
Often, they share the same Type as one of their family somehwere down the line, but it often skips generations, so you may inherit the same abilities of your grandfather, or even someone as obscure as your second cousin twice removed. Or, if say, your parents moved to an icy part of the world before you were born, it is actually very possible that you then get an Ice Typed partner, as the cold is all you've ever known.

Blargh. My history is of course growing longer and longer. But I should have this done sometime soon.

well I'm still waiting on a 2nd review of my sign-up so I'm just twiddlin my thumbs and I'd hate to be posting too many times here. I was kind of hoping the blue and yellow text would have been an eye catcher saying, "This is something new, please re-read this sign-up and give your opinion if it is acceptable."

But thats just me whenever I modify my sign-ups and it also helps out the person who needs to look through it and see what changes were made. But while I'm waiting, I'll be working on Garageband on some midis, hopefully to make something out of it.

ViewtifulJoe

Hero of Movie Land
Name: Belz Abol
Age: 16
Sex: Male
Hometown/Area: Sabian Island
Chosen Pokemon:Duskull

Appearance: Belz has spiky black hair, going straight up. His skin is light, even pale tone. His face is soft, with a small nose and ears. His eyes are dark black, like his hair. He's slightly tall for his age, but on the lighter side, with a trim build, and not many muscles, making him look like a thin adult, older than he really is. He keeps a few small scars hidden on his back. His hands are small, but his fingers are instead long, and bony. His torso is lacking muscular tone, and his stomach is small. His legs are wiry, and make up a large amount of his height. His feet, unlike his hands, are medium size with normal toes.

As for clothes, he wears a black top hat. He also has a black suit, like a tuxedo and a white dress shirt under, giving him the appearance of a magician. Along with this tuxedo, he keeps a red rose on it. He also wears a black cape, though he often rolls it up. On his cape, there's a picture of a skull. Of his few belongings, some are kept hidden in his hat, which is so large, it is actually split into sections to hold some of his stuff. He keeps a number of tools and items in it used for magic tricks. He also some of his money in his hat, though not all of it. The rest of his money is kept in his belt, which he has concealed. For self protection, he also has a knife in his belt, though he hasn't needed to use it, and it wouldn't be much help anyway, being somewhat dull.

Personality: Belz is the kind of person who could eat a disgusting meal and say he loved it, not to compliment the cook, but to trick him. He could and would put on a facade for a long time without anyone knowing until he made off with his target. Basically, he is a liar, though not a whimsical one. He tricks others to take advantage of them and steal from them or decieve them to make off with whatever they have worth getting. He lies so easily, it's as though it comes naturally to him, though he actually puts a lot of thought processing into coming up with his lies. Eventually though, he weaves a web of lies so complex even he can't fathom how to decieve out of the situation, so he usually bails. While he lies so often, he can't help to feel guilty if he stole a large enough amount of money or if he told a particularly heinous lie that he drops off a fraction of cash he stole before he bails, along with his calling card as a thief. He also hs pride about his stealing habits and will not resort to means for robbery if they break that pride. He is usually calm and smiling, even laughing often, believing it is always easier to laugh then to cry. His smiles are sometimes fake, sometimes real. He only loses his temper when his pride is insulted.

Like any member of Sabian island, Belz hates authority. However, he takes this to a whole new level, because he even hates God. Belz believes man and Pokemon could reach new heights if the Gods hadn't interfered with their lives. Whether their actions were out of love or hate, he thinks the Gods should trust the beings of this world to handle things the right way. There are two aspects of the Gods he hates specifically: the work of the Gods and Fate. The work of the Gods is considered to be natural disasters and illness, which he hates because of his mother's illness. Fate is the ideal that life is predetermined and you can do nothing about it. As a gambler, he's seen many other gamblers trust in fate, disgusted by them. He prefers to cling to luck, the idea that nothing is certain, anything can happen, and sometimes, he can change the outcome. Because of this, he never just let things happen he doesn't agree without trying to change it.

History: Belz grew up in a small hut near a large prison facility, where his parents, both ghost type, worked as prison guards. His parents were loving and gentle to him, training him to lead what ever life he wanted, because he always wanted to escape the dreariness of Sabian island. While they weren't wealthy, they also taught him that money wasn't everything, and he could rely on others like his parents, the justice system, and the pokemon Gods. One day, however, disaster struck when a security guard helped a group of prisoners escape for a large amount of cash, and hid the deciding evidence on Belz's father's. While his father was being arrested and taken into the prison, he told a crying, twelve year old Belz, "I'm sorry son, but there's nothing you can do. Just don't lose your path. Don't forget who you are." And with that, he gave Belz his old knife and was made a prison inmate.

A few months later, his mother got a serious illness, caused by a lack of nutrition because their income was cut in half without her husband, and her depression. His mother told him, "It's simply an act of the Gods. The only thing to do is to endure it, not change it." His mother always kept a rose, a symbol that there is hope anywhere, that even Sabian island could grow a rose. She gave the rose to her Belz, and with that, he decided he'd bring his family back, by any means necessary.

After discovering what illness his mother suffered from, he ran to the nearest apocathery and asked for the medicine. He lied to the owner, claiming he could afford the medicine, but the money belonged to his sick parents who needed the medicine. He said that he would pay the owner back when his parents were better. The lie worked and he got his mother the medicine. She started to feel better, but he knew he needed more. Belz and Duskull snuck in using an intangibility power, and stole a lot of medicine. His mother lasted much longer, but Belz knew he had to strike when the iron was hot and get a doctor to cure his mother once and for all. Belz resolved to make money, and loads of it, off in Lust city. Lust city looks like a beat down ghetto at first, but with the right connection, you could find yourself in a hidden casino with tons of escaped criminals. Using his intangiblity powers, he played a special game with the criminals. He hid a rock under one of three cups and moved them around. The criminals bet a certain amount of money they could find the rock, while he made it intangible and slipped it through the table. When they realized what he was doing, they attacked him. With this happening often, he's gotten many scars in the process, but he escaped with his night shade ability and made loads of money. With it, he first went to the apocathery and repaid the owner for everything he stole. Second, he hired a doctor to finally cure his mother. Last, he bought a tuxedo and a number of tools he'd need and prepared to either make enough money to bail his father out of jail, or become strong enough to sneak his father out.

Skills: Even without Duskull's powers, he is still a talented magician and great at card games. He has a number of tricks that nobody can figure out.

Abilities: 1. Levitate. Belz levitates for a certain period of time to escape enemy attacks.

2. Intangility. Belz can make himself, other people, or objects go through walls and such. However, he cannot do it for long, so timing is key before he runs out of energy. The larger the object/objects, the less time he can do it.

3. Night Shade. Belz creates a wall of shadow around one area causing darkness, confusion, chaos, a temporary lack of vision, and damage to anyone inside the wall. Cannot be held for long, and the more matter is packed up into the wall, the less time it can be held.

Other: Belz has a strange fear of flies, but no one knows why.

RPG Sample: "So, ladies and gentlemen, who can find the rock under the cup? No one has before, so the grand prize is huge!" Belz called throughout the casino. The term, "ladies and gentlemen" was used very lightly, as he was currently surrounded by a group of thugs.

A tough looking mobster pointed to the cup to the right, saying, "There. That grand prize is going to get me a nice boat trip all the way to anywhere I want." The mobster grinned with great self confidence, and as he did Belz grinned on the inside. I didn't even have to take the rock away, he thought to himself.

"So, the cup on the right, is it?" Belz asked. "Let's see!" He lifted the cup and smiled kindly, though it might as well have been a malicious grin, for the mobster lost all of his gambling winnings. "I'm sorry," Belz lied as he reached over for the cash, "but you were wrong. Well, folks, that's all I'm doing for today, but I might be back again another day!" As he said that he thought, Yeah right, this place is going to be tapped out for a while.

As he pulled the cups back, the least imbecilic mobster pointed out, "Hey, the rock isn't under any of the cups!" The thugs surrounded Belz, hoping to win back their illegally obtained money and more.

Belz laughed. "It appears my cover is blown." His cape unfolded as he called out, "It is I, the master thief of Sabian Island, the Masked Skull!" As he bragged, he also cast his night shade power. Suddenly, the thugs were in pain, and couldn't see him.

"Just wait, Masked Skull. I'm getting my money back, whether you like it or not!" The head thug called out. As he did that, he punched a thug, thinking he was Belz, which led to an all out rumble.

Belz mananged to walk by non-chalantly, replying, "Yeah, good luck with that." As a whole mob managed to pick a fight with themselves. He walked out, then levitated to a safe spot to count his money. "Hmm, not satisfying, but I'd say we did well," he said to his partner Duskull, who was still laughing about the mob fight. "So, where to next? There's a huge world out there. Lots of places to go, people to scam." And he thought to himself, And enough money to bail out my father.

Just asking, aren't Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak ghost type moves?

Okay. I hope this works, tell me if anything is off about it.

Name: Jacob Karma

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Hometown/Area: What part of the world are you from?

Chosen Pokemon: Latios

Appearance: Jacob’s appearance is interesting; there is no doubt about that fact. Many things come together in him, and it shows with every aspect of him, including his appearance. First off, his general appearance is a graceful yet powerful appearance. He’s by no means buff, but he has an air of power about him, strength that doesn’t come from mere muscles. He’s not lacking in that area, but he’s no body builder. He doesn’t need to be.

Still, its best to start at the beginning, from his head down. First things first, his hair is a silvery white, a very interesting color. It hands down to about his eyes, and covers his ears slightly, but is cut just short of getting in his eyes. He hates it when his hair is in his eyes, and keeps it at this length with constant trimming. As for his eyes, they are an electric blue, and very striking for any person to see. They stick out of a crowd, along with his hair, and its very hard to miss him when he wants your attention. As well, two tufts of hair seem to stick out of the back of his head, slanted upwards, which always seem to return there, despite any attempts to control them, though he rather likes it.

As for his torso, its normal for a human, no more muscular or skinny than an average human. He has no serious scars on his body as of yet, nothing permanently damaging, though a few faint traces are left from a sparring matches. An odd collection of bruises is on him from times when his guard was down, and its rare to find him without one minor bruise, nothing more serious than a purple spot. Beyond this minor bruising he normally collects, there’s little else of note on his torso, though if you pay attention you can see his muscles are well defined, if not bulky.

As for his legs and feet, the same thing come to mind, normal, but seemingly strong. Nothing out of the ordinary is on his legs or feet, just regular, though once more, scattered bruises have been known to crop up due to a faulty move on sparring. His feet are normal, and that’s the end of his physical body. Now, of course, comes the clothing he wears, just as important as he is in fact.

His clothing changes based on his mood. He has two outfits as it were, and both can definitely broadcast the mood or social situation he finds himself in. First off, is his social outfit, which is anytime he’s going to meet someone, or just doesn’t feel like working out, which in all honesty is a rare thing. It starts out with a necklace he wears, of a latios in flight. Held on a gold chain, it was a memento from his childhood, reminding him of what elegance he should aspire to.

As for his clothing its either casual formal, or formal, depending on his company. For casual, the vast majority of times, it’s a high quality polo shirt, and either matching quality slacks, or shorts, depending on what temperature he is in. The polo itself is either a lighter shade of blue, or white, and his pants are kakhi, shorts being either brown or white depending on his mood.

Now, his other outfit is whenever he’s going to be working out, and its far more durable.

Now a slight variant is whether its training or adventuring outside, as if its adventuring the first thing he has is a fedora. He just doesn’t feel right with out a fedora on, and it’s a brown color, standing out starkly against his silvery white hair, though it doesn’t look bad, per say. Just different, especially considering the air of elegance surrounding him.

Now, if he’s working out, there is no hat, though the rest of this remains similar. His shirt is now a strong durable t shirt, a plain and simple black or dark green, both neutral colors that don’t attract too much attention away from the focus. As well for pants, they are sturdy no matter what pair he’s using, as he has jeans for their strength and ability to wear, or shorts for ease of movement. He has a pair of jeans for their strength, or shorts for ease of movement, jeans being that classic blue, and shorts a brown color.

Personality: Jacob is nothing if not for two things, elegant and smart. Those two things are the first thing you will notice about him, and they are his most prominent feature. The first one, is elegance. Everything about how he carries himself bespeaks a cool, calm manner, and flowing graceful movement, and this is reflected in his actions. Upon first meeting him, he will display a cool yet alluring elegance, and is not likely to get tripped up over anything. This elegance shows in his manners, as he is very proper, but is not afraid to let his wit show, his next trait of note.

He’s a smart guy. From his witty comments at people’s expense, to his knowledge of how things work, you will not likely find something Jacob hasn’t studied somewhat. He can quite easily discuss the state of affairs of his region, and the theoretical workings of the world, with the same ease as he makes a witty turn of phrase. Stumping him is something your rare to do, and if you do indeed do it, he’ll often play it cool. Yes, when first meeting him, he’s one cool smart customer.

Of course, that’s only how he shows himself in public.

Jacob, in reality, is much more than a calm elegance, and a extraordinarily keen mind. He’s also thinks very highly of himself. This leads overall to a somewhat snobby attitude about him, that he is one of the best, and that while others are good, they just can’t keep up. While he will acknowledge if someone beats him, he still holds a superiority complex, minor as it may be.

Jacob however, isn’t just bluster, he’s good. A fiery passion to learn drives everything about him, and as well, he feels that he must live up to what others think of him. Its not uncommon to find him pouring into the most difficult books he can find, because he believes he must be smart, and he loves to learn. This passion carries over into physical fighting, where he tends to be driven, though that’s a big understatement. He just doesn’t quit. He will not stop training until he either can’t move any more, or he feels he’s learned enough. He’s started to learn his limits, but still tends to overwork himself.

This training, and need to learn, not only comes from the sheer joy of learning, but the fact that he is actually a rather nice guy, and often feels bad about looking down on others. A genuinely nice nature means that he has to constantly prove to himself that he is the best at whatever he does, to help ease his uneasy feelings of superiority. Still, he does tend to feel uneasy whenever he becomes aware of his judging of others. He likes to feel good, but his conscious kicks in whenever he does something overly cruel, and can lead to him staying up at night thinking over and over what he did.

This empathy is one of his redeeming qualities, and is the reason he’s not a complete jerk. Many times he’s looked down on a person or type, only to that night have dreams of living as that type, and the scornful comments he’s laid down on them returned to him. While it hasn’t as of yet worked enough to stop him completely, it has led to some good improvements, especially after some rather particularly nasty comments.

Now, this is all well and good, but how does he treat people he has befriended? Anybody he’s made friends with see the real side of him, which is far less formal than his first impression. He’s not overly concerned with his personal carriage, and that cool elegance is replaced with a smooth gracefulness. Its no longer so overpowering, but its still there, though he’s far more likely to grin and laugh and act human.

His friends are crucial to him, and he defends them with all the loyalty he possesses. If you manage to break though his cool elegance, stand his snobbish attitude, you’ve made a friend forever, and your not going to lose him for any reasons, unless you betray him time and time again. If you need him to help you, with anything at all, he’ll gladly help you as best he can, without a moments hesitation.

As well, very few things make him mad in life. Why do few things get him mad? Because to him, he believes in the saying, don’t get mad, get even. And if you hurt him, oh, yes he will get even. He’s rather bad about holding a grudge, and it takes quite a bit to make peace with him. Its not impossible, and with the right about of repentance, quite easy, but don’t expect him to demand anything less than full contriteness.

As for what makes him mad, its enough to be counted on one hand. One is hurting Pokémon, another is hurting a human. And lastly, hurting one of his friends, which is something you never want to do if you ever want his forgiveness. These things bring out rage in him, a cold fury, but the last one, well, just don’t mess with his friends. When he gets this mad, he has no emotion, just is calm. Nothing else matters to him, but you, and you being in as much pain as he can make you be in. Expect no mercy from him; he will hurt you eventually, no matter how long it takes.

History: Jacob has had quite the history, but not at the beginning. His first few years in life were uneventful, as most tend to be, just living as a baby with his family. They were a well to do family, and it was a good life, if quiet one. He didn’t really start showing any interesting signs until he was about four years old. That was when he started to read, a lot. Sure, he had known how to read from a very young age, but not until now had he been so driven to read.

He read chapter books, picture books, pretty much every kind of book there was to read at his age, and read them quickly too. His parents were surprised at how voracious a reader he was, but happy, and kept him reading everything he could. This was also when they started to enroll him in classes to bring out his natural ability. At around the tender age of five he was being schooled in things, from Geography to physical training. He loved learning, and absorbed it all like a sponge, even things he wasn’t quite supposed to learn.

It was about six years old when he started to become snobbish and high minded of himself. He’d seen where other kids were at, and they weren’t nearly as good as him at things. As well, his parents kept talking highly of him, which made him feel better than the rest. Needless to say, his personality started to turn sour at this point, as he would lord himself over other kids, and even got in fights with them over his supremacy, when he wasn’t just ignoring their low brow means.

It took his parents about a year to figure out what was happening, with the fighting and the snobbery, but when they did, they didn’t really mind. He was better after all. It was only after he started to not study, that he got brought quickly down to earth. You see, he figured he was already good enough, why apply himself? It was not like he was going to ever have anyone beat him, he could just coast though life, and be far better than everyone else.

That brought out his parents ire. He was brought firmly to task on the fact he was not better, and would only be so if he tried and applied himself. This lesson was brought home mercilessly by his teachers, who were now instructed to taunt and make fun of him unless he was doing excellently. This firm realization was what brought out in him that he had to work to be the best, as he was constantly slammed for not being such.

However this did nothing to curb his snobbish ways, as it was tacitly approved of himself being above everybody else, since he was. He just had to make sure he worked hard, and the silly people below him wouldn’t dare touch him. Still, despite this rampant snobbery, he had managed to make a few friends, these people normally being those who he regarded as better than him, his rivals to be beaten.

One in particular, Joseph, was rather high on Jacobs list. Very intelligent, he was the one person who could beat Jacob in a debate, and they had a heated rivalry. Still, they were as close as Jacob got at this age, and stayed that way. By the age of nine they were pretty close, good friends from the constant effort to one up the other, when things came crumbling down between them. All over one girl.

Joseph was more of a snob than Jacob was, and considered most anyone below him. What was worse however, was that if you were below him, you got his scorn, and it was a brutal scathing affair. However, this was not the problem. The problem arose when he turned violent. He had started to go out, with a few buddies, and beat up poor peasant kids. Finding this great fun, Joseph invited Jacob to join in.

Jacob did indeed join in, and even beat pretty badly a few people, before one day, they picked the wrong target. A girl had apparently spat on Joseph, and their group would not tolerate that. Jacob was ready to beat her up too, but things went too far. It was when her left leg cracked that Jacob tried to get him to stop. Joseph, however, didn’t want to, beating up the poor bruised and broken girl, until Jacob couldn’t take it. Pushing him over, the duo got into a fight, and while Jacob would have one, it turned into a three on one when his two cronies decided to join in.

That was when Jacob stopped beating up on others. A merciless beating was not quite so fun when you were on the receiving end of things. However, they tired quickly, he wasn’t peasant prey, and left, leaving him bruised, eyes blurring with pain, but still able to walk. Jacob already had planned on taking the girl to help, since she seemed in extreme pain, but now, just from that short beating, he knew she needed help.

This was the start of a change in him, the painful trek back to his house. Because this girl proved to be one of his best friends, despite her low standing in life. Her name was Mary, and her partner Pokemon was an Absol. At first he planned on never seeing her again, but his parents wanted to teach him a lesson, that being that either he should stop beating up the poor, or shouldn’t get caught doing it.

He was ordered by his parents to visit her everyday until her leg was better, and help her in anyway she asked. This however, turned out not to be nearly as bad as he thought it was. Because despite being quite mad at him, for obvious reasons, she was smart enough, and they got along eventually, after a rocky first week. By the end of the first month, they were even starting to become friends, though neither would dare admit it.

By the second month in he’d turned ten years old and for his birthday, She’d bought him a charm, of a latios. He was surprised at the workmanship, as he didn’t think her wealthy enough to buy something of this quality, but it turned out it was a gift from her mother, who made this, a payment for taking care of her medical bills and the like. He promised her he would wear it always, and soon had a gold chain for it, hanging it around his neck at all times, save when he was afraid he would lose it.
Things didn’t always work out well for them though. By four months into her recovery, she was deemed well enough to take longer walks, and he volunteered to go with her. The first few times nothing happened, but then he met a friend of his. A few snarky comments about his company, and how he was rooting around in he dirt, he snorted, and said he was only doing this because of his parents, he didn’t actually like her. Unfortunately, she’d heard him, and was furious at him.

The rest of the walk home she was completely silent, simply glaring angrily at him as he tried to explain himself, but to no avail. He dropped her off, and swore as he left he heard her crying. He brushed it off, as commoner’s feelings, and expected she’d come around by tomorrow, or the next week. He had no reason to apologize for his own behavior, he was right after all.

That night was one of the worst he’d had. Staring up at the wall, he couldn’t help but go over again and again the hurtful comment he’d said, the calling her “a dirty dark type”, the sound of her crying, it ran over and over in his head, until he finally fell asleep, fitfully. His dreams were worse. In them, everyone was laughing at him, as he ran, until he reached his friends door, who simply spat in his face, and left him to the laughing masses, who started to kick and beat him, calling him a darkie lover, a disgrace to the dragon name, a commoner filth.

Needless to say he woke up in a cold sweat. He couldn’t fall back asleep after that, and simply paced in his room for the two hours it took to calm down. By then, it was morning, and he had to do his daily training. That day he got a rather vibrant collection of bruises. Classes were worse, he couldn’t concentrate, couldn’t even remember the work he’d done, and needless to say, his teachers didn’t let him forget it. By lunch, he was in a horrible mood, sore mentally and physically.

Then he got to leave to help her, but due to being in detention for poor work, he didn’t get time to clean up, leaving him a sweaty disheveled mess. Not to mention sore from his beating in class today. Still, he managed to arrive at the normal time, knocking on the door and waiting for her to open it. She did, planning on slamming it in his face, but stopped midway, taking a double take at his appearance. He gave a weak laugh at her shocked expression, and said “I…think I got mine for…yesterday. I’d…like to…ap ap apologize for…what..I said. It…was mean.”[/b] He stumbled out, growing red faced at it. He hated apologizing, but he knew he’d feel like crap still if he didn’t.

Mary graciously accepted it, taking him in. Thankfully she decided not to go on a walk today, due to his looks, and merely stayed and talked to him. Things mended between the two after that, though a few spats occurred, his snobbish pride still getting in his ways. Still, every time he contritely apologized, and she accepted it, though eventually demanding he own up to being her friend, which he did, grudgingly.

Eventually he took her, around six months into her leg healing, to meet his friends, since she was to have the cast off soon. Unfortunately, they weren’t quite as open minded about her dark typing as he was. Nothing overtly was said, but they tended to avoid her, only talking to him when she wasn’t around, or ignoring her. Needless to say, Jacob was hurt, but Mary was used to it. Still, he wasn’t about to let this go, and decided that he’d get his friends to get used to her, by sheer will if need be.

It worked, to an extent. She was pretty smart, and had a way of using one’s own words against a person, something they admired in a person. Dislike gave way to unease, and while they would stick around her, they weren’t exactly comfortable around her. Jacob didn’t mind though. It’d worked well enough in his mind. By around eight months, the cast had come off, and he no longer had to visit her daily, though that didn’t stop him from visiting her when he could.

As his one dark type friend, he learned a lot about the lower born people, and this triggered more empathy in him to others. This was the start of the slow death of his snobbery, at least his prejudiced classed based kind. It wasn’t immediate, and it definitely didn’t go out quietly, but eventually, within two years, by the age of twelve, you could tell he had definitely toned down. Not too much, as he still considered himself better than everyone else, It was now just based on merit. He was still better than most.

It was about this time he had been introduced to cooking for himself. The chef they had was sick, and since the replacement chef was only to cook dinner, he decided to sneak into the kitchen and have a snack. Unbeknownst to him the sick chef had decided to make something for himself, and seeing him in there, attempted to shoo him out. Jacob however, wanted to see what he was doing, and he relented.

This trend of watching him cook went on for about a month before the chef, jokingly, asked if he wanted to make something. Jacob seized the chance, and asked to be tutored in it. Not sure what to say, he accepted, but only if he promised to not get said chef in trouble. The agreement was struck, and Jacob was taught how to cook. He loved it, for its complexity, and challenge, as cooking things.

Years passed, and he grew older, aging to the age of fourteen before anything truly eventful happened in his life. By then he had tried his hand at making meals, and finding himself good at it, sometimes cooked for his family and friends, when the occasion rose. It was about halfway between his fourteenth and fifteenth birthday that his friend Mary started to crush on him.

Mary and him had remained best friends throughout his years of knowing her, but as they had grown older, she’d grown attracted to him. She never told him this however, just deciding to keep the relationship as it was, though it showed in how she looked at him, and asked to stay with him, leading some of his more observant friends to remark. Jacob blew it off, as did Mary, but that didn’t stop the rest from noticing.

This went on for about a month until, annoyed, he decided to disprove them once and for all by asking her outright. Much to his shock however, she said yes, and seemingly hoping he felt the same, asked his own feelings. A few awkward moments later, he told her he didn’t feel attracted to her, but he did like her as a friend, and he hoped they would stay as such. Mary was crushed, but understood.

The next few weeks were awkward, but by the end of the month, they had worked it out, and were back to normal, though Jacob couldn’t help but feel a little sad when a few months later, he realized she wasn’t attracted to him any more. Still, this was no big deal, as his fifteenth birthday rolled by, and things stayed the same, practicing hard to get better, while still working on his other hobbies, like cooking.

It was two months into his sixteenth year that something else eventful happened. He started to crush on her. He didn’t realize it himself until about a month in when he was talking about her with someone, who joking said he sounded like he has a crush on her. Nodding to himself, he laughed, and said no, though he knew better. The irony of this was not lost on him, however, as she had a boyfriend now.

As such, his crush remained a secret, though he couldn’t help but feel a fool for denying her all those years ago. Still, he knew it would pass, and it did, painfully and slowly, but passed, as he reached his seventeenth birthday. It was about then he stated to come onto his own, as the elegant and graceful guy he was. The lessons he’d been taking were slowing down, as he had more than enough comprehension in all basic subjects, and even in sparring he was gaining far less bruises far less often.

By his eighteenth birthday, he’d struck out on his own, deciding to look for adventure, and that’s what leads us to now, as he decided regular life was not for him right now. No, he wanted an adventure, and he figured this would be the best place to start.

Skills: Skilled in martial arts, general overall knowledge on most subjects, Skilled in cooking.

Abilities:
Flight: Using his mental power, he can push himself into the air, and fly on wind currents, though not too far, as it takes a lot of energy.

Dragon Pulse: He focuses energy at one point in his body and sends it out in a powerful shockwave, knocking anyone in its path backwards.

Dragon Dance: A mystic dance focuses his energies and heightens his strength and speed.

Other: I molded his abilities after moves, if you haven’t guessed by now. Though I may edit dragon dance, want something more physical, and finishing movey.

RPG Sample: A slight smirk wormed its way across Jacobs face as he worked, busily preparing a meal for himself. He loved to cook, it was one of the truly challenging things left for him to do. Each meal was different, all your ingredients changing with each meal, and you had to focus on the right amounts of food, the right spices, the right level of cooking, all sorts of things could go wrong in every step, and your job was to stop them from happening.

Still, as he worked, he wondered what exactly today would bring himself. Nothing as of yet had happened as he minced his latest addition to his meal, but that didn’t mean nothing would. He still had about half a day left he could retire, and lord knows what might happen in between then and now. A slight sigh ran though him as he took his finished work and stowed it in the oven, walking over to a seat and sitting down.

He needed a job. That was the one thing he could tell for certain. He needed a job, and he needed one soon. Sure, his parents were paying for things, but he didn’t want to owe them any more money than he already did for having this apartment. He considered their help a loan, and while he definitely appreciated it, he wanted to get off it as soon as possible. Besides, he knew he could get a high paying job, he was a well educated dragon type, and if push came to shove, he could get work as a bodyguard.

Still, his creation smelling about ready, he didn’t want to do that. He wanted something exciting to do. He just wasn’t sure what he could do. Letting it cool on the table, he looked outside the window, sighing to himself as he stewed inwardly, not sure what exactly was the best option. Shaking his head slightly, and deciding he’d simply have to go down to the job office, he dug in, savoring the taste. It was quite good for the ingredients he had, at least in his opinion.

After the meal, he washed his plate, not wanting to leave a mess, and put on his formal clothing. He was making a public appearance, and going to the job office besides, he needed to look his best. Changing quickly, he then looked at the latios figure on his necklace and nodded to himself, that selfsame smirk once more creeping across his face. What was he worried about? He had this.

Walking out of his apartment, a high end one to boot, he smiled, looking for the job office. Everyone had to start out somewhere, even him, and he planned to make it on his own, before coming back and joining the family business. It would help give him some business savvy, and besides, he needed something exciting in his life. It was about this time that he found the government flyer. Looking at it, he saw the advertisement, and knew he was sold.

The smirk grew bigger as he looked at the location on the poster, of people to contact. Well, this would be interesting. He couldn’t help but grow slightly excited as he walked out, planning on packing before he left. This would be interesting, he could tell. If this would be interesting in a good or bad way would remain to be seen, but he was confident whatever happened, it would in no way shape or form be boring. Besides, with his talents, he knew he could pull though. He just hoped the others were as good as him.

I am highly amused that one of the stricter nations is called 'Laze'.

Name: Blair Cobb
Age: 32
Sex: female

Hometown/Area: Wesden, Laze - Wesden is best known for the university that bears its name, which specializes in many of the natural sciences (biology, geology, medical, psychology, sociology, and so on). It also houses many museums, art galleries, and sports areas, so it’s a cultural center of the nation. While not quite as dangerous as Linten, there are still a few areas (mostly around the power plant) where electrical energies are commonplace hazards.

Chosen Pokemon: Lunatone

Appearance: Blair is tall and fit for her age; she wouldn’t be one to run a marathon, but has no trouble on long hikes. Her skin is regularly a medium brown, a little rough from working with rocks and chemicals a lot. She has long fingers and other rather elegant features. Her face is oval-shaped, with a thin nose and almond-shaped dark brown eyes. Her hair is straight and black, kept longish at just below shoulder-length. Because she’s outdoors working a lot, she wears minimal makeup except on special occasions and generally looks a little dusty.

Being a practical person, her clothing is fairly simple, in neat styles. This means jeans or canvas pants in a boot leg cut, so they don’t get snagged on objects. Her shirts vary from white to brown to orange to yellow, preferably with a shirt pocket for a pencil and a small notebook. Generally, she wears short hiking boots of a brand that can take long-term abuse. She usually has a pair of sunglasses, either on or tied around her neck with a twine cord. Sometimes, she is seen with a brown baseball cap with the Wesden University logo on it (it’s a shield with four signs of natural sciences, with a pair of Magnemites holding onto the shield).

When traveling around, she keeps her supplies and samples in a brown canvas backpack, also with the Wesden University logo on it. She travels with some water-purifying tablets, a Swiss army knife, a compass, some rope, and other camping tools.

Personality: She’s a natural scientist, focused on her work, and practical. Thus, she is curious, orderly, logical, patient, and open-minded. But she prefers to work in the field rather than a lab, as the context of the area is highly important to her studies. Blair is generally prepared for her adventures though, sometimes in ways that people don’t expect. For instance, she knows that if she’s to be in the Thunder Plains for very long, it helps a lot to attract a Pokemon with Lightning Rod or Volt Absorb for safety.

Despite liking to be orderly, there is an influence on Blair’s life that she doesn’t entirely control: the moon. She hasn’t figured out if the moon affects her directly or if it’s the Lunatone giving her telepathic biofeedback. At any rate, there is a marked difference in her actions depending on the current moon phase.

At full moon, she is at her most energetic and most impulsive. She will be extremely friendly, cheerful, sometimes even seeming a touch crazy. At new moon, she drops into a temporary lethargy and is more cautious than at any other time. She will be more irritable or sensitive then. She is milder and even-tempered between these two extremes. Since she can predict these mood swings, she’s learned to tolerate them.

Most people see Blair as unpredictable; they can’t tell at first whether she’ll be in a mood to laugh at a suggestion or snap out defensively against it. She’s willing to explain the cause, provided someone asks. Outside of her extreme days, she works well in a group and makes for a good caring acquaintance.

As a friend, though, she’s a bit defensive at letting people come too close. Blair has been hurt several times by people betraying her heart, so she’s careful about who she places her trust in. Even though she isn’t in custody of her, she is proud and loves her daughter Cantessa.

History: One big thing about Blair’s childhood was that she collected rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. She learned to identify types of rocks and found them all interesting. Figuring it was due to her spirit Pokemon, her parents let her use the basement for her ever-growing collection. She also loved historical artifacts and would badger museum staff with many questions about displays.

She went to Wesden University (to study geology, what else?), spent many summers digging around archeology sites, and graduated with honors. During her college years, she was very close a guy that she thought she was going to get married to. However, the relationship dissolved, leaving her with a baby girl and not much support from the father.

There was a lucky stroke, sort of, in which the girl (whom she’d named Cantessa) was connected to a Pachirisu. A wealthy couple (who were both Electrics) offered to adopt Cantessa as they were unable to have their own child. The deal wasn’t exactly honest. For one thing, they were offering her a good sum of money to help her through schooling, and to keep quiet about the deal. There were also rumors that the couple did have children, but none were connected to an Electric and so couldn’t inherit the prestigious position of the parents. But Blair was in a tight spot financially, so agreed to the adoption provided she could keep in contact with Cantessa. The couple said it was fine so long as the girl wanted to.

Once graduated, Blair started work as a geologist for the university. She is much more of a field researcher than a lab technician. Her particular interest is where in the cosmos this planet came from, if not from any of the known gods. If she can find old enough rocks, she may be able to glean some hints about the origins. Since the method is mainly theory with lots of complex evidence to shift through, she has been gathering evidence from various sites to find adequate tests for identifying an influential type beyond the innate Rock. Little bitty mineral crystals hold the key.

Blair is interested in coming going on this adventure in order to gain access to restricted sites for rock research. It may not seem like much, but in her early twenties, she got into a mess of trouble when gathering some dirt samples from around the Linten area. Some of that was considered trespassing, which was not taken well by a certain landowner. In the announcement the Laze government put out, some mention of Morpia was made. Blair currently doesn’t have good samples of heavy Ice-influenced rocks, which would certainly be in plentiful supply around Morpia. And any other restricted site would certainly have its own interesting rocks too.

Let’s just say that Blair’s in it for the rocks.

Skills: A trained geologist, she can tell a lot about an area simply by the rocks and soil. This pertains to older history, climate, elemental power traces, and geological effects like volcanos, natural earthquakes, and mudslides. She has experience ‘reading’ ruins; that is, she could look at an arrangement of stones and tell you it was a house, what certain areas were for, and what kind of people would have lived there. She’s trained in some chemistry and first aid, also having experience in hiking and camping.

Abilities:
Flash (Psychic): Summons an orb of light which follows the user around. It provides around the same amount of light as a 60 watt lightbulb, although the initial activation is more like a floodlight, which can temporarily blind someone who’s not expecting it.

Levitate (Rock): Levitates user. Hovering in place does not require focus to maintain, but moving while levitating does. It’s slow (you could probably walk faster), but passes safely over stuff like ice, brambles, water, etc. It is not recommended that a human Levitate very high, for if s/he is knocked unconscious, s/he will fall.

Rock Toss (Rock): The name’s a bit misleading, as it’s a form of telekinesis that either brings a single object straight to the user, or straight away from the user. This is in a straight line. If anything gets in the way, the Toss is interrupted and the interfering object/person/Pokemon will likely get hurt. Experience with this skill is required to keep the user from being hurt when ‘tossing’ an object at self. Towards self is high accuracy, but away from self is moderate accuracy.

Other: Blair’s daughter Cantessa is currently nine years old; they keep in touch through email and postcards. Also, Blair takes along a lab kit including microscope, various chemicals, and notecards.

RPG Sample:
It was a piece of granite from a ruin in Thunder Plains, a bit of rubble to anyone else. To Blair, it had a lot to say. The smooth structure, the ratio of black to gray, the presence of white, that all told her that the origin of this granite was likely 50 miles away at an ancient quarry. The size of the granite blocks indicated that the builders had help from Pokemon; the blocks were simply too large and heavy for even humans trained in great Strength. Thus, this ruin had to come after the Great War between Arceus and Shaymin.

Most people would say she could have found out faster in records from the grand libraries of Wesden or Linten. But those records weren’t what they seemed. For instance, most rocks (like this piece of granite) held tiny crystals that could only be seen through microscopes. These crystals tended to be affected by a mysterious force known as aura and were left with imprints of powers used on the rock. This rubble showed evidence of Electric energy, but only along the crack. Elsewhere, there were imprints of Fight, Normal, and Ground, three types known for physical strength. So Electric types had nothing to do with the construction of the grand but now ruined building.

However, the records claimed this was a place created by the Electric nobles of the past. The Electric type had long ruled Laze, so they might have ordered it made. But it was other people and Pokemon who actually put this here. The Electric Empire was sensitive to any threat to its power, though. She would have to be careful when, or if, she released this data.

After setting down all her notes on a card, she put the granite piece, the notecard, and various items she had tested the rock with in a small plastic bag and zipped to seal it. She would have to send her samples in to computer storage soon. It would be more work for the graduates back at the University to run more concise tests on the samples. Just so long as she didn’t get roped into doing the lab work too.

A scream of frustration distracted her from her work. The two others who had come on this ruin exploration had been trying to open a door in their way. As a solid block of granite, it stood twelve feet high and had no handle, indent, knob, or visible way of opening it. “How is this supposed to open?”

“Do you want my help yet?” Blair asked. The young men had assured her that they were experienced adventurers, able to handle anything. Apparently, that didn’t include trick doors.

“What, you know something about this place?” the other young man said.

“It’s called a pivot door because it pivots.” She got up and walked up to the door. Placing her hand on one edge of the giant stone, she pushed. The door turned on a center point without much fuss. “Pushing on the center as you were does nothing.”

“It was that easy?” he asked incredulously.

“We would’ve figured it out sooner or later.”

“I thought you would prefer sooner.” She continued on down the hall.

This roleplay is very very in-depth. It's no wonder why it got the seal of approval. I'm impressed! So, needles to say, I am going to submit a sign-up sheet sometime soon. You can expect to see it sometime this week... depends on how diligent I am. Is there a deadline?

Handy?

It's that one guy
Name: Kio Ikas (Ki-o E-kas just in case you wanna pronounce it :D )

Age: 17

Sex: ♂

Hometown/Area: Fovia

Chosen Pokemon: Dragonite

Appearance:

His face is narrow and his eyes are yellow. His hair is oddly white so he has it cut short and spiked. He is fairly trim, but his muscles are toned to fit him. He wears a green fancy robe with an intricate design featuring a dragonite doing an uppercut with his claw. He modified his robe to have 2 thin, precise cuts at the back so that his wings wouldn't tear holes in it. He wears leather sandals and leather gloves that are dyed green like his robe. His hands, when not covered in scales look like they were never used much in blacksmithing or in anything for that matter. There are no scars on his body due to his aura. Kio's skin color is a light tan as he doesn't stay in the sunlight long enough to tan. His voice is in the treble range and has a childish sound to it. His small height of 4' 10" makes him fairly unnoticable. His weight which is just over 100 pounds doesn't help when he's pushing through crowds.

He has a backpack that could hold enough supplies for a three day trip. He has an sword with a gold finish on the blade. The hilt that the blade sits on is covered in mix of dragon scales and leather, (also dyed green) to make the sword more unique. His wings when he uses them are of similarity to that of a dragonites wing. The wing length is roughly 1' 8" long. His hands that turn somewhat into a claw that he only has 3 sharp claw points and semi-flexible paw/hand. His feet also gains the same properties. His scales when visible are green.

Personality:

He is rather sarcastic and stubborn which is a nasty combination at times. He always has a smart mouth comment ready for any comment he recieves. He can be at times sincere and straightforward, but that side of him is only present if he suffered a deep loss or sometimes while he's experiencing pain. Despite his attitude, he is likable among people and pokemon alike. He seldom keeps himself alone, and when he does, he is usually sulking about something that recently happened.

He loves nothing better than witnessing things that should be kept secret and blabbers it out. A little naive, he may believe something that doesn't really make sense. He keeps most of his secrets to himself and when asked about himself, He'll try to change the subject or say that he has something to do. Given his extreme sides of personality, it is hard for even him to predict what he might say or do to another person. His actions are affected a bit by his mood swings. If he's happy, he'll be more sarcastic and friendly.

He talks mostly about going on adventures to almost anyone listening to him. He also likes to talk about the sky and the weather. Kio tends to irritate people however with his ramblings as he talks too much. When he is serious, he'll drop his sarcastic self and will give blunt answers and drop all pretense of being someone who daydreams a lot.

History:

Born and raised by blacksmiths in Fovia, he was talented in the blacksmithing industry. Even though he wasn't allowed to learn blacksmithing until age 10 he learned from his parents from watching. His mother had a partner who was a normal type while his father was of a rock type for his hardiness attitude. He went to school and made many friends as his parents were well known for their outstanding repair services. He was an ace in mathmatics and english grammer, but he hated learning about history and that of the past. He graduated from the school stuff at the age of 13 and went back home to learn his trade.

At the age of 15, he was a better blacksmith than either of his parents were, but he was modest about the ability to smith better. At the age of 16, both of his parents died when there was an furnace failure and it exploded. The people who analyzed what caused it confirmed that there wasn't any foul play amiss and gave their support to Kio. Devastated by his loss of both parents, he was too shocked to do anything about it but just gape at the news. As it sank into him, he started crying like a child. He shook uncontrollably from the amount of grief he had. Despite people around him giving him support, he shook them away and ran to his hous where he kept himself locked up in the house and refused to respond to the world.

He would have succeeded in killing himself of starvation if it wasn't for a stranger that walked into his room and laid a letter on his table. The stranger studied Kio for a few minutes as he sat staring out of the window. The stranger gave a small sigh and turned to leave as quietly as he came in, but his sigh was heard by Kio who noticed the stranger. Kio demanded weakly of who he was and how did he get in the house. The stranger simply smiled and just pointed at the letter with his very pale finger and disappeared. Angry, but curious about the letter, he weakly got up and opened the letter and looked over it. When he had finished reading it, he weakly smiled as it was from one of his parents old friends. He re-read the letter again and then burned it in the small fireplace his house had.

Finding a new will to live, he left his house at that night with his sword and bag and left town.
He disappeared for a year travelling to places and experimenting with his abilities. He came back to Fovia at the age of 17 where he found his house sold to another family. Not exactly disheartened, he simply worked part time at a few stores to earn some cash to stay in an apartment he was renting. While falling into a routine, he plans on doing more things soon and is simply just saving up some cash for what he'll need down the road.

Skills: First-aid, Blacksmithing, Can draw a little bit, mostly for outlines of weapons or armors.

Abilities:

Dragon Shifting - Kio is able to morph his hands and feet into claws and deal more lethal damage than with his blade alone. He also sprouts wings if he needs to do aerial combat.

Dragon Aura - While not visible unless he has his wings or claws out, his skin is tougher than normal and not as pierceful. While not affected much, his bonees are modified to withstand a little more pressure and stuff when he comes in for landings. His skins has a slight regenerative ability to heal with no scar left behind for small wounds. Larger wounds will leave a scar and won't be affect by the regenerative properties.

Roar of the Present - When he's decided enough is enough, he can unleash an almighty roar that can send all enemies and friends blasting away. While very powerful move, most times he will collapse or even faint after using the move. He very seldom uses it even if it is a dire situation.

Other: He isn't a pervert for those of you who probably got the wrong idea from reading this sign up.

You improved everything asked upon, so naturally you're Accepted.

Just asking, aren't Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak ghost type moves?

Hmm, you scrape the limit. Accepted. Also, Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak are indeed Ghost moves, but I felt them more fitting to the Dark Type. Not all moves will fall under the same catagory in this world, as well as the huge ammount of custom moves which means catagories are slightly harder to make.

Accepted.

LOngest sign up I have ever seen..

Haha, you obviously haven't seen his sign up for 'Pokemon: For Them', or the owner of that threads sign up either. Trust me, this isn't Greys longest work.

Approved, and can I just say what an awesome character is. Don't worry, I can assure you they'll be rocks on route. xD

And just a notice to anyone who makes a Sign Up from this point on. Whereas I've been leniant and accepted people before (who I won't unaccept), from now on can you make sure in your sign up you Don't know your Partner Pokemon. You've never had a chance to meet them, ever, unless they or you were in moral danger. Your character will most likely guess what his partner is by the abilities he has, but he will not have ever met the Pokemon thus far. Okay?

Foo Fighter

Nostalgia is my pal
Name: Edwin Alan Obadiah
Age: 41
Sex: Male
Hometown/Area: Relgran
Chosen Pokemon: Gliscor

Appearance:

A tall and shifty eyed man stands before you. His stance is leaning slightly to the left and his legs are bent ever so little, as if ready to spring into action. His hands are constantly fidgeting with themselves and the rings that adorn them. He peers around his shoulder every few seconds, nervous, but still seeming sure of himself. He looks you over, spending the most time on the areas you consider weak points. Under his chin a darkened and scraggly beard rests between full cheeks, his eyes seem hazy as if someone filled them with a midnight fog. His skin is paler than most, it seems as if he never sunbathes. His dark and mussled hair is rested just below his temples and the rest is hidden under a black hood. He gives you a deep and hardy smile and then a deeper and more confident chuckle before slapping you on the back and introducing himself.

This is Edwin Alan Obadiah, better known as “Eddie the Bat” or “Mr. O”

Edwin wears a long and flowing cape that culminates in the neck and comes over Edwin’s head as a hood. At the culmination point two strings lay lazily, able to be pulled out to tighten the hood and cover Edwin’s mouth and end just before his nostrils. Under this cape, a dark purple vest with black highlights running the sides. A black long-sleeved shirt is worn under his vest and there seems to be a bit of loose material hanging below these arms. The sleeves of thee shirt encompass his hand almost fully, ending at the midpoint where his knuckles lie. A large and gold belt buckle adorns a deep brown leather belt encompassing his waist. When wishing to make less of a notice, Edwin will bring the cape together at the waist and upwards a bit more to give the impression of a commoner. His pants are black as well, better to stay hidden in the night. His shoes are shiny and black, they seem to be leather, but no one seems to have the time to notice his shoes, especially with those looming eyes.

When Edwin travels he carries a small bag attached to his waist, usually hidden by his cape. This bag contains the bare essentials, toothbrushes, matches, e.t.c..

Personality:

Edwin is quite an over bearing person to get to know. He can change himself from light-hearted comedian to dark soothsayer. He wants no business in those of the weak minded and opens himself up only to those he can fully know as equals or better. Although it may be strange changing your ways of talking to Edwin, he is a truly special friend to have. Those he creates bond with will be under his eternal protecting eye. Anytime you find yourself in danger, Edwin will be there at your side ready to fight off the inherent danger. His inexplicable ability to create a sense of security is truly something worthwhile.

Edwin enjoys practical jokes, however, he does not enjoy being on the receiving end of these pranks. Only if you were a close friend of Edwin would you be able to get away with such a feat unscarred. Edwin has an unparalleled sense of humor that seems to span everywhere from physical pranks to witty knock-knock jokes. He can sometimes be seen laughing at the wrong time or even in inappropriate situations, taking delight where others would only receive horror and dismay. Due to this he can sometimes be cast out of social groups and has had to find other hobbies in his days other then reading the local obituaries.

Edwin also has a hardened and cold side to him as well. He has yet to release a grudge on somebody. He is stubborn to the point of arrogance and finds himself in situations that could have been avoided with the proper respect for a fellow man. How, though, can you respect someone who uses contractions for every two words? How can you forgive somebody not knowing what the latest Astrology theories are? Do you fail to recognize the importance of knowledge, or freedom to learn? Such things can only drive Edwin into a state of rage.

Edwin’s light hearted side and his easy-toanger side some together to form a strange person, and he knows it. He takes pride in his off brand sense of humor. He has the utmost respect for himself and those he considers to be friends. He has strong morals that elude to a good-hearted and caring individual. He can find it hard to show these emotions and tends to hide them away under layers of black garments, but deep down, he is just as normal as any other human being you’ll find nestled on this planet.

History:

There is no other place to start Edwin’s story than with his parents. They were both normal people living in a small house in the Relgran community. They led completely normal lives, in fact, they both had normal spirit pokemon. Edwin’s mother was a Sentret and his father was Zigzagoon. It still amazes most people that Edwin ended up as a Ground/Flying type. They had no clue about this, though, until one fateful day in school.

Edwin’s school was hosting a triathalon of events, one of which consisted of carrying a lone exxeggcute over to the rest of its pile, blind-folded. Edwin, desperately wishing to win, tapped into one of Gliscor’s natural abilities, Echolocation. He managed to gain a grip on his ability and won the contest without dropping the egg one nor fumbling it. From then on Edwin dedicated himself to discovering his other powers. One, was his limited ability of flight. By focusing his energy tightly, Edwin could grow a black veil that extended from his wrists to his hips and then could be used to glide on the winds or used as a stopper for extreme speeds. It was obvious now that Edwin’s spirit was that of a Gligar and more and more interest began to appear around him.

Edwin was relishing his fame. Everyone ws talking about “Eddie the Bat”. He trained himself rigorously, limbering himself up and excercising muscles. His parents vastly disapproved of this and wished for Edwin to put more time into his studies. It came to be, though, that Edwin was not destined for a life of plain student work.

He was destined to be a performer!

He built a small stage to practice on and practiced in the studies of Acrobats. He was master of his art by the age of 21, when he finally set off on his own. He gathered up a rag-tag group of performers who all shone in certain aspects, together they set up a traveling circus that would encompass many “Freak Shows” like sword swallowers and super strong men.

The show would start off with brightly lit stages and colorful characters, all of which seemed light-hearted and comical. As the night would progress, though, an eerie presence would take the stage. The lights would dim and the music stopped. Everything was pitch-black. Suddenly the lights would flash and center stage would be Edwin Alan Obadiah himself. He would slowly grow his wings out, emphasizing the process for dramatic effect. He whipped up wind using an ability he had developed early on in performing and took off into the air, flying around the audience with a serene grace. The lights would flash off and special night vision glasses were given out to the crowd so they could see Edwin using his echolocation to navigate the stage and fly around with flips and tricks. These were the best times of Edwin’s life. The show sadly came to an end when Edwin was 33 years old, though.

Edwin travels alone now, taking no real home other than the darkness. He’s made many friends through out the lands of this world. Eddie wishes to be put back in the spotlight now and is joining in this Adventure.

Eddie the Bat saves the day!

Skills:
Edwin is a renowned acrobat and is very limber, muscular and precise. He is an experienced hand to hand combat fighter and prefers to not use weapons of any kind.

Abilities:
Echolocation(Flying): An ability that allows Edwin to see in the dark using sounds to reflect objects and people.

Limited Flight(Flying): Edwin grows a black veil that extends from his wrists to his hips. This can be used to glide cooly down from large heights and, with wind, can be almost as effective as regularly flying with bird wings.
Sand Veil(Ground): The user creates a small sandstorm that encompasses just themselves, this can be redirected at an opponent or used for temporary cover.

Other:
RPG Sample:

Edwin was perched atop a tree. He scanned the surrounding area, looking for would-be predators and bogeymen. He closes his eyes and lets sound do the seeing for him now. He calls out silently in the night he can see it now. A large animal is directly underneath him. This is no pokemon, though. This is what was given to Humans to eat. Times have changed though, as people became sedentary and learned to domesticate animals the need for savagery died out. Or had it?

Edwin smiled.

A Noctowl cocked its head sideways and cooed loudly at him, disturbed by Edwin’s rather abrasive presence. Edwin turned his head slowly around and shushed the Noctowl, everything was quiet.

Down below the tree this animal, an averagely sized bear-looking creature, slept peacefully. Edwin hung down slowly from the tree and descended quickly and silently. He approached the creature with a deathly presence and reached down slowly towards its neck. The animal fidgeted a bit before.

*SNAP*

And it lie dead. Edwin took a couple seconds to observe his situation again, he did not want to catch himself in the midst of a larger animal. He set up a small pile of firewood and created a make shift smoker for the animal meat. Edwin had a tough life, but it certainly was not boring.

As he sat chewing his food he contemplated all of the struggles he’d gone through to make his dream come true, all the nights spent training up his landings and precision flips.

Was it worth it?

The fame, the applause, the reverence, Edwin smiled lightly to himself. It was worth everything to the world to him. And now another thought burst into Edwin’s head, as it often did when something important was formulating. A flyer he’d seen about adventuring to an unknown area. Perhaps he could be famous for discovering a whole new continent!

The fire crackled and popped off embers.

The decision was still not made. He had to see about it tomorrow for tonight sleep was needed. He had been hired for a show in Relgran and he had to please his customers. Such was the life of a Bat.

The first seal of approval I ever saw was given in December on a Roleplay called Vindex, and two more seals were given out that month. It all went quiet until about a month ago, TBG created an RP called Total Eclipse, which got sealed. After that, about half a month after TE died, Kamotz created a Golden Sun RP, which got the fifth Seal I've personally seen. And then this got Sealed. Prior to last December (well, June, since that's how long I was roleplaying here) I have no idea.

Do i have to change my history? Or Can i make it so that my partner had lived in a tree that was supposed to be cut

You can change your history if you want, but since you've already been accepted, I can't force you too.

fishyfool

And a nice chianti
Well, here's hoping.

Name: Alastayre Blume.

Age: 21 years, birthday 24th April.

Sex: Male.

Hometown/Area: Shaara Town, Narsir Island

Chosen Pokémon: Heatran.

Appearance: Alastayre is unusually short for one residing in arid regions, being one where the norm is to be big and bulky, standing at a meagre five foot eight full-stretch, and weighing in at one hundred and thirteen pounds approximately. Physically, his skin colour is of a sunburnt red, consistent with his skill with fire, and this red tint to his body is the direct result of his having little time indoors, scarring his once-white flesh to the rosy colour he is now. His hair is rather short, coming in at around an inch in length, and is black like the ashes of an intense fire, his head covered by a chrome grey skullcap which he is never seen without. His eyes are of a lucid hazel tone, however, contrasting his rosy face with their terrific calm, and his overall appearance in the facial attribute is that of a rather exhausted man, with his mouth seeming to droop consistently and small scars from burns adorning his cheeks.

As far as his body is concerned, though he is rather small in height, he is rather muscular, much like the residents of Narsir, though this isn’t thanks to his affinity with fire or steel. Rather, it is the result of several years’ wandering the region, his body building in strength after his escape from a rather extremist group. His upper body clothing consists of a white tunic underneath a silvery vestment, the open-ended shirt seemingly draped over his shoulders rather than visibly worn. Though his forearms are sleeved by the tunic, underneath them are a pair of armlets, a memento of his lost love, and on his hands are a set of fingerless black gloves, the colour of them akin to scorched earth. His legs are covered with a pair of jeans, the deep green, almost black fabric frayed and torn in places, his belt holding them up bearing a small insignia of the Blume family arms, a pair of nesting Moltres back to back. His boots are steel-capped, dusty from the desert and dyed by the sun and sand into a robust golden brown, the thickened soles of the boots making him appear closer to five foot ten. Alastayre is very rarely seen without one of his trademark cigars hanging from his mouth, each one lit with his pyrokinetic powers and consumed slowly so as to attain the full flavour.

Personality: At first glace, Alastayre seems to be the sort of person who would rush headlong into a battle after a few moments contemplation, and this isn’t far from his general mood. Disliking the thought of making hasty moves, he always seems calm and collected for a short time before making any decisions, his thoughts of making sudden decisions and reluctance to do so often rendering him being called slow by others. However, when he’s decided, he acts much like fire itself, with intense passion and flair, as well as incredible care for the environment. Before his tragic accident, Alastayre was often slated as a selfless person who would help others, but his recent past has rendered him a pseudo-cold person, shunning the discrimination people have for others, yet having a sociable ability that makes him much like a silver-tongued charmer, always good with the ladies. His own past, however, prevents him from making friends easily, and any alliances forged are temporary, with him falling out quite often.

On the outside, Alastayre appears as a calm and self-centred man, who would be classed much like a playboy or shoulder to cry on, but inside he is a human fighting the urge to simply incinerate himself to end the grief he suffers. He very rarely opens up to people, and in the very rare cases that he does, he simply fails to complete his sentences before diving into impossible depression, his history burning a hole in his broken heart, and his eyes watering with stinging tears, at which he turns away from society to mope. In times of relative calm, Blume tends to improve his ability, and will often head out for hours at a time harnessing his fiery skills in the desert where nobody can be hurt, until such time passes that he exhausts himself, returning to his current friends and talking about any news events or whatever. While some would say that he is emotionally challenged, this is far from the truth, and in fact Alastayre is capable of showing a variety of emotions from joy to anger. The limiting factor is that he simply cannot be bothered to be happy for he feels inside that there is nothng to be truly joyous for.

History: Offspring of a Rock partnered father and a Steel partnered mother, Alastayre’s early years were ones of little major events, as many would state. His father toiled in one of Narsir’s many coal mines, while his mother worked at raising him in the ways of a proper Narsir citizen. At six years of age, his parents left him be in the middle of the night as he slept in his bed for a night out, as the child’s true powers awoke, his random sneeze in the night unleashing a terrific torrent of fire that instantly set his bed alight. While his home burned down, he stayed relatively oblivious, waking only when his mother entered the burning building to rescue him, at the cost of her own life, the fiery effects burning her steely exposition and swiftly killing her. Heartbroken, his father could only leave Shaara, abandoning the sobbing child who was taken in by another fellow, an orphanage owner by the name of Faroh Kaczmarek. Though friendly, Faroh knew that Alastayre was dangerous with his pyrokinetic powers, and kept him somewhat isolated until he could control them, teaching him the art of stabilising his fiery powers.

At nine years of age, Alastayre had mastered the art of his pyroclastic conjurance and was studying in a small educational establishment, whereby in Narsir laws all boys had to partake in basic mining skills. On the trip to a quarry, he opted to use his powers of fire to aid in blasting rock from the wall, and in the process struck a small gas leak. The resulting explosion knocked him back several metres, scorching his body fully and eliciting emergency aid to his writhing form. The accident itself had damaged his pituitary gland, thereby stunting his growth, and his remaining years in education were spent as the class dwarf, something he simply took to heart. At twelve, his graduation from education into work according to Narsir law, Alastayre was taken aside after the ceremony and was forced to hand his graduate certification back to the authorities, on account that a person with powers such as his will only serve to hinder and injure colleagues in the mines.

Upset, he could only comply. For the next two years, Alastayre lived a relatively dull life in Shaara, working as a part-time fire maintenance officer, until he met a visiting group from Relgran, a place he hadn’t heard of, and among them Lucia, a girl studying the culture of the island. Deep inside, Alastayre felt unusual in her presence and as she spoke to him, his fire in his heart swelled to proportions he had never felt before, as he fell in love with her at first sight, the first positive event with major influence in his life. A couple of years later, the two of them dated and upon recollecting his tale to her of his past, she kissed him lightly on the lips, confessing her own love for him. At seventeen, in his apartment, natural teen urges came over both of them in a single night, the two madly in love, and Alastayre wished only to be with her forever. This, however, was not to be, for halfway through his seventeenth birthday, disaster struck.

Walking through an area of Shaara, the couple heard of a small club designed for people with the powers of fire, and with Lucia possessing the ability to create calming heat from her hands, useful in therapy, the pair headed to the rendezvous in the desert. Upon reaching the area, amongst several other people, the reality set in as plans were drawn up: The group were planning a raid on the Narsir financial depot in a move to drive the country to bankruptcy, and Alastayre was to be the opening shot. In spite of his arguments, he had no choice but to cooperate, as the leader drew a crossbow and pointed it at his head, the bolt tainted with vile poison. As the attack began, the doors blasting at his flames, amongst the rabble Lucia pulled him from the chaos and promised him to never use his power for evil again, which the young man agreed on as the two fled from the scene. However, the leader, noticing this mutiny, was far from amused and told his men to continue while he dealt with the runaways. In the darkened desert chill, Alastayre and Lucia found themselves at a small rivulet and were preparing to cross by using a log nearby when the bolt flew by their faces, the furious ringmaster loading another bolt. Aiming it at Lucia, he fired, and as the missile flew, Alastayre blocked it with a strange metallic sheen, much like a mirror, the bolt drilling into the ground as the extremist was sent sprawling by a burst of heated air by Lucia.

However, unbeknownst to the pair, the bolt was charged with a small explosive and while Alastayre was knocked into the sand, Lucia was blown into the stream, her screams of anguish and sudden silence as her fiery life was extinguished by the waters as Alastayre frantically pulled her out of the water, her pulse fading from the shards of metal in her chest as she perished in his arms. Crushed, Alastayre could only bury her in the desert sand before heading into the deeper sections of Narsir to mourn her. The time spent wandering in sorrow was taken to mind as he practised his shielding technique, his mind broken from Lucia’s passing as he returned to Shaara two years later, his body caked with the sands and his only clothing a set of rags from wandering, as well as a pair of armlets, presents from Lucia for his seventeenth birthday.

At twenty, Alastayre had little reason to live other than to find the monster responsible for murdering her and bringing him to justice, though he knew not where the man had escaped to. On the outside, he was much of a playboy, flirting with the ladies while puffing a cigar he had rolled himself from dried grasses, ones he gathered everyday and smoked as sustenance as he wandered the sands of Narsir, though inside the only person he cared for and lost has left him empty inside, this sorrow sometimes rising as his nostalgia perked the tear ducts. The sands and sun itself had also sculpted his skin into a heavily built style, almost akin to the hides of reptiles, and his time as a worker in maintaining heat sources ceasing as he moved onto a different occupation, that of a boiler engineer. Currently his life involves keeping his fiery skills attuned daily, working for a living, and living a flamboyant life outside while mourning inside.

Skills: Alastayre’s time in the desert has resulted in his body becoming much more tolerable of extreme fluctuations in temperature and he can easily move around in sub-zero temperatures for a couple of hours. His body has always been highly resistant to fire, and so he can work and move in flames with only little discomfort. He is also surprisingly skilled in engineering, and can work manual technology such as engines and machinery with ease.

Abilities: Tungsten Barrier: Focusing on his less-developed steel techniques, Alastayre draws a large circle with his fingers in front of him which creates a large shield of a heat-resistant metal roughly a metre in diameter, which he then uses in blocking physically based assaults. This generation of the barrier is a strain to forge and the shield lasts only a few minutes before disintegrating. Though the shield may be resistant to fire, it is not completely invincible and prolonged exposure will melt a hole in the shield. The shield itself can be handed to others if needed, though Alastayre isn’t as trustworthy to consistently rely on defensive abilities as such.

Pyroclastic Torrent: Inhaling deeply and focusing fire energy into his hands, Alastayre can launch a plume of fire with surprising force at a target, much like a flamethrower. This staple is used commonly by Alastayre for blast-fusing pieces of metal for boilers together, and the temperature is high enough to inflict substantial burns at close range. The actual flame can reach up to ten feet in length, and can be kept going for up to twenty seconds after which Alastayre’s hands start to become numb from the continuous focus.

Nuclear Memoriam: An exhaustive attack, mostly used as a last-ditch effort, Alastayre’s mind focuses on the time he spent with Lucia and his anger within at her death shows as he literally glows with fire before unleashing the built up energy in a devastating shock wave of fire that incinerates all within three feet of him, the burst of energy stretching for twenty five feet in a frontal arc of roughly two radians, or 120 degrees. The shock wave stretches several metres into the air, leaving very little chance of escape and the burst itself travels the distance in a mere half second, leaving escape from it all but impossible. The sheer emotional and physical stress it creates leaves Alastayre winded and trembling afterwards, requiring a minute to compose himself to perform any other actions.

Other: Alastayre’s skullcap was created from his first botch-up whereby he blew a steel panel out a boiler, which he wears as a reminder to be more careful of what he does.

RPG Sample: The sand a mile from Shaara was fine, the sun warming it considerably to the point where stepping on it with a bare foot would leave blisters on the sole, rendering travel difficult without wincing. For Alastayre, the sand was cool on his rose flesh, the man stripped only to his underpants as he lay in the small pit, eyes closed in concentration. The heat was nothing to him, after all: He was used to it. His whole life was based around this element of fire, one commonly associated with criminals, which he was rarely cited as. He paid no heed to the fools, however, as his work with their heating systems in the cold nights kept any speculations under wraps.

Alastayre...” the voice called once more, the sound of a sleeping angel filling his ears. His eyes slowly sliding open, he found his love lying by his side, her soft touch on his chest above his heart filling him with a soothing warmth, and her crystalline azure eyes like two sapphires in the sceptre of beauty. Staring at her face, her supple blonde hair unlike the grainy sand beneath him, and her comfortable body a pillow to rest on, he closed his eyes as her lips drew nearer his, pursed for a passionate kiss...

...before opening into a colossal waterfall, the aquatic blast of liquid like acid burning his skin, the intense force punching his head into the sand as it suffocated him, his warmth vanishing in a smoky puff to be replaced with the feeling of his body being shred by the waters, the single angelic voice now a demonic cackle as his chest collapsed as the water swamped him, plummeting him into darkness before ceasing all possible senses, save hearing, as the trickling water forged a voice of menace.

She is dead, you shall be next, traitor...

NO!” Alastayre roared with a start as he rocked up from his prone position, the silicon crystals around him a blanket from the world as he rubbed the stinging tears welling from his eyes, gulping air as he shook with fear before glancing around him, his usual clothing in a messy pile, his body slightly raw from the abrasive sand, a better cleaning method than any soap, and his heart still as empty as it had been that very fateful night as he clambered from the desert, the sun’s impossible glare beaming onto his flesh, giving him heavenly warmth most would find unbearable. Staggering to his garb, his hands gripping the silver bracers, his only memento of Lucia, his life, he gave a sigh of melancholy before slipping his arm through one, then the other, before clothing himself. Above him, a watching bird circled the skies before flapping away, no doubt unhappy about any free meal, before giving a sudden squawk and falling to the ground, scorched as Alastayre flicked his hand after a burst of fire downed the avian. Marching to the fallen bird, he plucked whatever feathers it still had from it before discarding the meaty body, placing a few of the feathers into a small tub as he pulled a classic cigar from it, putting the rod to his mouth and touching the tip before removing it, the soft crimson glow of the cigar and gentle smoky stream his only colleague as he headed back towards town, another uneventful day of avoiding acceptance that his love was lost commencing.

Name: Harper Abernethy

Age:
19

Sex: Female

Hometown/Area: Copspark, Laze. Copspark is a small industrial town with a port in its southern half. The large warehouse there is teeming with busy workers (mostly fighting type) moving cargo all day long. Harper is one of them.

Chosen Pokemon: Riolu

Appearance: Harper often goes unnoticed by anyone. She has a very small and thin build, and because she is so short and quiet that she's often missed or simply forgotten. She is so meek and meager-looking that no one would guess she has the fighting-type ability. Such a small girl could not possibly have that much strength... but she does. Although she is at age 19, she looks more around the age of 14.

Harper's hair is dark steely blue color, due to the fact that she's paired with a Rilou. She has it cut short and above her ears so that it doesn't get in her way; she's sometimes mistaken for boy when seen from behind but her small breasts give away her gender when seen from the front. Her eyes are a reddish-brown color and are very large and intense. They are probably the one thing people are most drawn to when they look at her. She almost doesn't need to say anything when having a conversation because they tell all. This makes it very difficult for her to lie. When deep in thought, Harper closes her eyes so that no one can tell what she's thinking.

Harper dresses for work most days. She wears what's comfortable and what she can maneuver in. This usually includes her work T-shirt with the warehouse name inscribed on the back, and a pair of shorts. All of her clothing looks as though it's simply been draped over her petite form, sometimes slipping down her shoulders or barely brushing against her thighs. Yet even though she is slim and small, she can still do nearly twice as much work as the average worker. It's surprising to first-timers but most of the people Harper works with are no longer shocked by it. It's just Harper.

When she has free time and is seen out around town, Harper always wears more conservative outfits. Nothing with cleavage or too much skin showing. Most of her clothing looks too big on her. One of her favorite red knit sweaters has sleeves that are so long she likes to leave her hands tucked inside. Usually a simple pairs of jeans will suffice for her legs. She never overdresses.

Personality: Harper is quiet, as stated previously. She doesn't like to stand around idly and gossip. She's okay with small-talk here and there but hates to be a chatty-mouth. Words are useless unless they've had some thought to them before they go past your lips.

In a way, Harper lives her life very simply. She avoids complications and drama and generally gets along well with everyone. Her mind is still somewhat innocent and carefree. Occasionally Harper laments the fact that she is so simple-minded. Sometimes she feels cheated by her lot in life. She realizes how unnoticed she is and feels lonely when her thoughts dwell on that fact. However, she is always quick to realize she is only depressing herself and refocuses her mind right away.

One of Harper's greatest fears in life is revealing her true emotions. In this way, she is conflicted. She wants to be noticed, but she is afraid to show herself. In the end it becomes a complicated battle and she continues to shyly lead the same pattern of meekness. Harper is not outgoing at all. Sometimes an opportunity will come by and she will just watch it go without a word.

Harper truly is a gentle soul and she generally cares more about others than herself. She's always puts her full effort in her work and strives to be a good example for others. She's optimistic and quite even-tempered. Harper is very slow to anger. She lets things slide and forgets any offenses against her. She doesn't take things the wrong way or plan revenge against anyone. Just like gossip, she finds it frivolous to plot against her fellows.

She has no love-life as of yet. Nearly all of her co-workers are men but she has zero interest in them. She sees them as friends rather than potential boyfriends. She's more in love with her work itself than she is with any of them.

Harper isn't the most intelligent girl. She is sort of uniformed about the world beyond her own home and workspace. She dropped out of high school, not because of bad grades but because of good work opportunity; one the few chances she took in life. Being fighting type, she knew she had no real talent for knowledge and never aspired to it. As a worker in a warehouse moving boxes all day, Harper is content with the wages she makes and feels needed. It's not much, but she has been able to afford a small apartment just a block or two from work. Sadly, she can't afford a T.V. so she has to rely on her co-workers for news. Only the important bits truly interest her anyway, and her distaste for idle chit-chat often leave her with nothing new.

History:
Harper and her family moved to the city of Copspark when she was at the age of seven. She immediately began schooling around that time and soon fell into routine. She didn't make many friends but she had parents who cared for her so it didn't bother her so much. She might not have been popular in school but she wasn't the laughing-stock either.

It wasn't until age 10 that Harper even discovered her abilities. This seems strange as most of the other kids at school already knew their powers and somewhat of their partners. Having gone unnoticed by her peers until then, it hadn't really mattered to her. It was when one of the more well-known students, Thomas Barksdale, noticed her that things went awry. It was as though she were being discovered for the first time, and Harper didn't like it. Thomas was fascinated by her and was constantly pestering her to find out what she could do. It would have been okay if he was nice about it and genuinely interested, but instead he treated her more like an oddity, which made her very uncomfortable. Pretty soon the other kids took notice too. Harper's friend Anetta tried to defend her from the teasing, but it was useless. Eventually Thomas starting showing off with his little sparks and thunderclouds on the school playground. Harper struggled to maintain a cool attitude the way her parents taught her, but her anger got the best of her and she went straight up to Thomas and threw him clean over the jungle gym. You can imagine the other kids' surprise and Harper's own surprise at this. Nobody had any idea she had it in her to do it. Thomas went home with a bloody broken nose and Harper with a detention (the only one in her entire school record I might add). This only made things worse for her, as she was then classified as an ape by her peers: Prone to anger and very stupid, which of course is not true.

Harper learned a lesson from that experience. Not only did she learns he had fighting abilities, but also that people will always try to put her down if she stands up for herself. In the end, she decided it wasn't worth getting angry about and decided to always be kind no matter what. In this way, she figured she was proving them wrong. After a while the attention for her died down and most of her school-mates forgot. She went back to being quiet Harper Abernethy and they went back to being their usual popular snobby selves.

In the area of school-work, Harper struggled a bit. She was not the smartest of the bunch, but maintained a solid decent grade throughout her entire school career. She often had to ask for help with homework or stay after school hours to get help from a teacher, but she was always persistent. She handed all her work in on time and never received an 'F.' Around her Sophomore year in high school she realized she didn't care about academics or continuing it. She decided to apply for jobs wherever she could. Manual labor turned out to be one of the only options for her, but she gladly took the offer with a joyful spirit. Somewhere inside of her, there was a small tinge of regret for dropping out, but Harper decided it was for the best. She saw it as fate and took it that way. She still sometimes hopes to go back and finish her education, but at this point it doesn't matter.

Harper worked diligently in the warehouse for three years before finally moving out of her parents' house. They saw her off, slightly disappointed with the way she let her life turn out, but happy all the same. She had a place in society and that was probably better than begging in the streets. Harper's apartment is located about two blocks away from the warehouse where she works so she likes to walk there every morning. Her apartment is small, being just big enough for herself. There's a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, a closet, and a small living area. Harper is just fine with this. She has a routine and she feels secure and safe living alone.

A few days ago she overheard her co-workers discussing the request for adventurers. At first she scoffed at it inside her mind--more useless gossip--but the topic continued to show up in every conversation she was around. Eventually Harper joined in, much to her co-worker's surprise. She asked occasional questions and then went home to reflect on it. An adventure... to save the peace. It was a new thought. Perhaps this was her chance to reveal herself. The idea that she could help the world with her abilities was different from what she was used to thinking, but it didn't take long for her to warm up to it. In the end she decided this was a good opportunity!

Skills: None in particular. She once tried to learn how to play the flute, but gave up when she realized she wasn't interested. When she was little she was part of a rec soccer club but she never really cared for sports after that.

Abilities:

Hi-jump kick- the standard fighting move. She moves at high speed and kicks high, but hurts herself if she misses.

Mach punch- an amazing sharp speed attack. Harper is quiet adept at this one. She has learned to throw about ten punches each second.

Vital throw- a retaliating move. This was the move that Harper used when she first discovered her abilities.

Other: Harper's parents both have electric partners. She has a younger sister named Penelope who has a water-type partner. ((I decided it wasn't relevant to mention this anywhere else as it didn't really relate much to Harper))

RPG Sample:

The streets of Copspark were quiet that morning on the way to work. Harper walked with her yellow hardhat tucked under her left arm. There was a light breeze through the air, carrying the lovely scent of car fumes and slight smog. In the distance Harper could hear cars honking and beeping, but she was far enough away from them that they weren't significant. The sun was just peeping out from behind the tallest building in Copspark as Harper rounded the first corner. A bit of old newspaper fluttered in front of her and was tossed into a nearby alley. The streets were always filled with things like that. It was to be expected of cities like this one. At least it wasn't like Linten, Laze's Capital. It wasn't possible to walk the streets so freely due to electric currents. Being optimistic as usual, Harper decided she could appreciate her morning walks... even if she did just step in a piece of gum.

As Harper neared the warehouse near the harbor she could hear the cries of Wingull and the smell of salt-water. The light breeze picked up a bit and ruffled her bluish hair as she descended down towards her work. The sidewalk gradually got bumpier and more cracked as she neared her destination. This area of town was always poorly maintained because only workers and truckers came through here. Harper was one of the few who actually lived close enough to walk to work.

Letting her feet guide her to the same place as every morning, she headed around the back and through a plain-looking gray door. Once inside she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out her card so she could punch in. She arrived at 6:30 AM sharp as always. Harper was notorious for being punctual. Occasionally her co-workers would poke fun at her for this, but she was ashamed of being on time. Her boss appreciated it at least. After all, he had recently fired a newly hired young man for being late three days in a row. His excuses were poorly sewn together and although Harper felt sorry for him, in the end he knew he deserved it.

"Morning Harper," said an older man as Harper entered the workspace. She put on her yellow hardhat and tipped it shyly at him. His name was Robert Sampson, and he was one of the few decent men in the area. He was already hard at work when Harper arrived and didn't have time to say much else than his polite greeting. Harper watched as he picked up a huge crate and carried it away towards a storage truck. In just a moment, Harper would be doing the same. The place was surrounded with crates and boxes of all sizes, and she could handle any of them. She might be skinny and thin-built, but she could take on even the burliest man in the warehouse... not that she ever would.

Heading over to the far left wall of the warehouse, Harper looked at her assignments for the day. There were several papers with names and areas to which they are assigned. Harper scanned the paper with a finger to see where she would be working... the left wing, moving crates from the pile 'A' to the blue truck marked 'Hadly's'. Got it. She turned to go but was suddenly stopped by a man more than twice her size. His biceps seemed to be bursting out of his sweaty white tank top.

"Hey, Harper. Where're you off to this morning?" the man asked in a gruff and taunting voice. His name was Bill Ackman.

"Er... the left wing," she replied, trying to get around him. He kept moving in her way to stop her.

"Did you hear about the request yet?" the man asked, ignoring Harper's obvious anxiety.

"What request? Did Ronny post another announcement?" Harper asked, suddenly interested. Ronny was the main manager of the warehouse and Harper's boss. She always tried to stay on top of things when she came into work.

Bill laughed in her face, spit flying. "No! I mean on the news! The government is requesting strong adventurers who are willing to enlist in some worthy endeavor to save world peace. What a load!" He laughed again, clutching his tight abs. Harper looked uncomfortably up at him.

"I... didn't hear about that," she said and tried once again to maneuver around him. Bill let her go this time.

"That's right. I forgot you didn't have a T.V. or read the newspaper!" he called after her as she walked briskly away. She could still hear him shouting at her when she was nearly a twenty feet away.

Adventurers? What a strange request...

Handy?

It's that one guy

Accepted, it was a good read by the way.

Accepted also.

I'll work on the two extra skills for each character in a bit, and I'll start the discussion thread fairly soon. We probably need only one or two more people to start other than myself, and considering we seem to already have people wanting to join, we may start quite soon indeed. Of course, the ammounts of slots are unlimited, and I'll keep accepting after the thread starts, as there's always a possibility of someone joining the expedition late, or joining when the expedition passes through his home town etc. My sign up will be done by this afternoon.

Handy?

It's that one guy
I've had a surprising lack of time to finish my bio today, but I did manage to complete the extra skills. If anyone has any complaints about their moves I will willingly change them, but you have to tell me what the reason is. I won't just change everyones moves for the sake of seeing what you might get.

Silpomatic:
  • Dragon Claw: The user runs at the enemy, their claw hand filled with dragon energy, and slash them across their body, infecting the wound with dragon energy and damaging the person deeply.
  • Whiplash: The user flaps their wings rapidly at the enemy, summoning a large gust of wind to blow
attacks or the enemy in the opposite direction to the user.

Rotrum:
  • Bug Buzz: The user lets out a high pitched buzzing noise which pierces the enemies eardrums, rendering them deaf for a large period of time.
  • Agility: This move is usable in two varieties. The first, Short Term, gives the user a sudden extreme speed boost used to dodge a single attack. Long Term can be used on the user or an ally, and gives them increased speed (150% of their original speed) for ten minutes.

ViewtifulJoe:
  • Glare: The user stares straight into the opponents eyes, causing them to be instantly frozen in place, lasting for a good minute or so. If they are attacked, they are freed from the state. Needs eye contact to work.
  • Shifting Orb: The user creates an orb of typeless energy, which is then sent flying at the enemy, dealing damage, and stealing the type of the person that it hits. The next Shifting Orb you use will be their primary type. It will continue to change every time you hit an opponent, until you don’t use it for 24 hours, at which point it will be reset.

greywolf123:
  • Hypnosis: The user sends a focussed beam of Psychic energy into the enemy, and slowly the enemy will start to fall into a deep sleep. This sleep will last 24 hours if the user isn’t woken up by feeling physical pain or extremely loud noises.
  • Safeguard: Loaded with dragon energy, a see through forcefield appears around the user. It will take five weak attacks, three medium attacks and two large attacks before breaking (Although those of utmost strength can break it in one), and requires a fairly big amount of energy.

Ysavvryl:
  • Rock Tomb: The user summons rocks, plants and other objects of nature, bringing them either around themselves (as a shield) or around the enemy (to trap them inside).
  • Reflect: The user creates a barrier of Psychic energy in front of them, reflecting any beam or projectile straight back at the enemy. Physical attacks will smash through, but the enemy will still be damaged from the pains of the glass like substance cutting into their skin.

Foo Fighter:
  • Earthquake: The user slams any part of their body into the ground, and causes a large tremor to occur in the nearby radios, rubble and shrapnel slamming into enemy and ally alike for damage.
  • Aerial Ace: The user glides at rapid spins at the enemy, and at the crucial moment when they should hit the enemy, they disappear, reappearing at the other side of the enemy, causing them heavy damage. It can also be used for a speedy getaway.

Fishyfool:
  • Burning Passion: The user infuses themselves with flaming energy, literally setting their own body alight as a shield from physical attacks, as well as enhancing their own physical attacks with fire.
  • Bullet Punch: The user runs at the enemy, fists coated in iron, and slams their fists into the enemy at rapid speeds, dealing massive damage. Also, if at a range, the user can punch the air, sending orbs of metal soaring at the enemy. Although, it’s not as accurate that way.

Morgie04086:
  • Detect: The user wait for an attack to come within an inch of themselves, and using rapid reflexes, dodges the attack completely, at the last possible moment. Very useful for surprising enemies who fought they’d won.
Focus Energy: The user stands still and calm for a second, thinking as hard as possible on attempting to become stronger, more powerful, good enough to win…The users physical strength then doubles for the duration of their next four attacks.

Ice Cold
Very useful skills...

But could I use short term for a small sprint or mix with my already enhanced streantgh and speed to increase momentum and thus make physical strikes stronger?
