;355; Pokemon may have originally had their own call, before Trainers captured them and named them. They began mimicking their name. That is why, in Ruby/Sapphire, Pekachu the Rustboro Pikachu says "Peka! Peka!", although you also hear the distinctive "myao-rooong" of the Pikachu.;355;

I think the Pokemon's call is when it is just generally roaring or whatever at its opponent.
When it is saying bits of its name, that is when it is communicating with others. I think they were named after the noises they made when communicating.

Who can say?
In the anime etc. not all pokemon speak their names eg Kingler 'Kooky kooky'
Onix ummmm 'roar'.
One prob with pokemon mimicking the names given by humanswould be when faced with wild pokemon-esp those without human contact-how would they know what to say?

How could it change? Being captured does not affect the call of a pokemon.

Appart from Pekachu I can't think of another example...
...what would happen if someone called their Bulbasaur 'Bob' would he change his call?...
...If everyone renamed a particular pokemon would it change?...
I really do not think it is pokemon mimicking their names.
Peka is similar to Pick so on this case it is easy to argue that the p[okemon is capable of changing its speech...just a little...

i never considered this i think that they r born saying that

Back I guess??
Richie called it´s Pikachu as Sparky (Or was another of his Pokémon?) and it didn´t left the pokéball saying anything semelhant, so I think this theory is wrong.
