Pokemon Cobalt 1: Rise of Missingno.
The story sets off in the distant future, with Red(RBY), Yoshi(GSC), and Brendan(RSE) long finished with their journeys. The story takes place in Sootopolis City in Hoenn, with the new hero, Jake, about to start his Pokemon journey. He had been told many times of the legendary Pokemon, and the great evil that attempted to destroy them-Missingno and Pokemon M.
Most everybody thought them gone forever, for Brendan, Ash and Yoshi had destroyed them long ago, when they hacked into the Battle Frontier mainframe and nearly destroyed Hoenn with the Frontier's nuclear missles. But even forever doesn't last forever....Anyway, Jake was 13, old enough to start his journey. His hair was jet black with gold streaks, and his eyes were an electric blue. His features were smooth and strong, and he wore the customary Pokemon trainer fingerless gloves. His mother was reluctant to let him go, but his father, Hiro, fully supported him. Hiro told Jake he would not be able to start his journey without first selecting a Pokemon from Professor Tsubasa's lab. So Jake raced off to the lab on his waveboard, for Sootopolis was a volcano with water in the bottom. He was nearly there when a massive explosion erupted from Tsubasa's lab, nearly throwing him from his waveboard. He saw the familiar Hyper Beam attack come from the rubble. He knew only one person in Sootopolis who had that attack. "Takeda," he said, approaching the ruined lab. Through the smoke he made out his best friend Takeda, who had started his own journey just a few hours ago. Even though he was 12, Takeda showed excellent progress with the small Tyranitar he had found floating in the water by his house, so his parents let him keep the Tyranitar and set him off a year early. Takeda was standing on a table, apparantly trying to attain the high ground, for he was about as short as a yardstick and a half. "No Missingno! You cannot win! My grandfather Yoshi beat you once, and I'll beat you now!" said Takeda. Jake thought he said Missingno, but that was crazy. Missingno was destroyed years ago! But in the midst of the smoke, Jake could barely make out the gnarled form of a Pokemon, who gave off a sound that seemed to come from deep underground.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" he laughed, with the most deep and terrible voice that you ever heard. "GIGA CRUSH!!" screamed Missingno, following a giant increase in gravity, breaking a few of Jake and Takeda's ribs. It was then that Jake noticed three pokeballs on the ground, each bearing the name "LANCE" on it. He took one, and released a Dragonite. He was amazed to actually see a Dragonite in person. He was so excited, he released the other two by accident. Out came a Salamence and Tyranitar. Jake knew then he had to stop being a fool and attack. So, like Missingno had done, he executed one of the ultimate attacks, that can only be done when certain conditions are met. "Dragon Blast!!!" he cried out. Upon his command, Salamence, Dragonite, and Tyranitar each shot a blast of energy from their mouth, combining halfway into one giant energy ball. The blast hit Missingno head on, at point-blank range, sending him skyward, in the direction of Mount Chimney. A stunned Takeda muttered "How did you..." before he could continue, Prof. Tsubasa emerged from a pile of rubble and yawned. " Which one fo you youngsters woke me from my nap?!" he said. "Missingno...he's back." said Takeda. "Missingno!?!?!?!?" cried Tsubasa. "That's not possible! He was destroyed by the three young masters long ago!" It was then that Tsubasa glanced at his computer, the only thing in his lab left undamaged. "I see now...this was my fault, I should have seen this coming." "What do you mean, Professor?" said Takeda and Jake together. "I was trying to bring back a Pokemon with my grandfather Bill's old outdated time machine, and Pokemon M must have seen the gate in time, and sent Missingno to destroy the future." said Tsubasa. " Jake, where did you find those Pokemon? Those were your great-grandfather Lance's, you know." Jake said "They were here on the floor, in their pokeballs." "I originally meant for you to take all three of them today, but seeing as how young Takeda here helped out so much, I'd like him to have the Tyranitar, Jake." said Tsubasa. Jake retracted Tyranitar and handed it to Takeda. " Oh, thank you, Professor! Now we each have two Pokemon!" said Takeda. "Now, I must ask you, do you wish to pursue and destroy Missingno and the cruel Pokemon M for good?" said Tsubasa. Both boys nodded and Tsubasa handed them each a Pokedex, and 5 pokeballs each. He also gave them a Pokenav. "Take these, and travel to each of the cities, earning badges along the way. Once you have all 8 badges, take the S.S. Tsunami to Johto, and earn all 8 badges there, then, head east to Kanto, where it all started, and earn those 8 badges. Once you have all 24 badges, head to each of the spots in your Pokenavs marked red. These are the dwellings of the legendary pokemon. Try to get each one on your side. But be wary of Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Manafi. These are the hardest ones to find. Oh...and one more thing(his voice started to get very solemn now). Be extremely careful around Mewtwo and Deoxys. These are the most violent of all Pokemon and they WILL kill you, if given the chance. The final order of business will be to head to the peak of Cinnabar Island's volcano. This is where it all started---on the eastern edge, long ago, a warp in time and space caused M and Missingno to break free from their dark hold in the void. They will grow stronger as time passes, for they are absorbing all negative energy that took place from when they were destroyed up until now. If not stopped in time, they will take form. If that happens, the world is lost. The last time they took form, they were nearly unstoppable. There will never be another trainer like Ash, Yoshi, or Brendan in this land again. So it is up to you to stop them. When you face Missingno, and hopefully defeat him, return to Hoenn. Once you set foot in its borders, Pokemon M, or Mewthree, will appear. Mewthree is the most powerful of all Pokemon, and it will take the alliance of all the legendary Pokemon to defeat him. He is living proof that there is, in fact, real evil in this world. Once he is defeated, the warp in time and space will be sealed, and the three masters' souls can rest in peace. Do you understand?" Both of the boys nodded, and left the ruined laboratory,
