Welcome to Pokemon Crossing!
I am Ace Moose! And this is our Guild.
In our Guild, Pokemon isn't our sole forte, we also enjoy a good cup of Animal Crossing, and a nice session of relaxation.
In Pokemon Crossing, you will meet many new people, battle new opponents (optional), visit each-other's town (optional), partake in quizzes and other games in our Guild (optional),
and overall have a fantastic time! (obligatory).

For those who don't own a copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, do not fear!
There will be plenty of activities for you to partake in and discuss!
Though our Guild enjoys Animal Crossing, it's nothing to say that we all don't love Pokemon just as much!

Point System (Bells), and Ranks

In Pokemon Crossing, we use Bells as a point system, meaning when you do certain things, you will be rewarded with points (Bells), as such, these Bells go towards a rank up and/or purchasing Guild goods, and you achieve this by reaching a certain amount of Bells over time. BUT, do not mix up our point system's Bells with in-game AC Bells, as Bells in-game will be used for other things such as in-game casino's and a bookie system, which you will adhere to the rules of accordingly. Please, for the love of god do not mix up in-game Bells for our point system's Bells. Now these are what you get Bells for, and how many for each activity.

  • Registration - 10 Bells
  • Winning a battle against another Guild member - 30 Bells
  • Winning a Guild Tournament (no Bells for round wins) - 250 Bells
  • Becoming a runner-up in a Guild Tournament (no Bells for round wins) - 150 Bells
  • Monthly loyalty reward - 20 Bells
  • Breeding a Pokemon for a Guild mate - 40 Bells
  • EV training a Pokemon for a Guild mate - 50 Bells
  • Being deemed a friendly/helpful member (voted for anonymously within the Guild, permanent status) - 250 Bells
  • Talking on our xat chat box once a day - 5 Bells
  • Donating art to our Guild - 30 Bells
  • Partaking in any Guild activity - 10 Bells
  • Donating to the Bookmaker - 5 Bells for every 1,000 in-game Bells donated
  • Betting in the Bookmaker - 5 to 20 Bells (see second post)

The ranks of Pokemon Crossing are as follows, there is a set amount of Bells you must obtain to enter the next two Ranks. Upon registration, you will be placed in the first Rank. It's then up to you to achieve said Bells to Rank Up into the next two Ranks.

pokecrosssig1.png

Beginner Rank - 0 Bells Required

pokecrosssig2.png

Intermediate Rank - 1000 Bells Required

pokecrosssig3.png

Expert Rank - 5000 Bells Required

Pokemon Crossing offers all members the chance to casually chat in regards to any topic within our chat box, located in my signature. We encourage casual chat to take place in the chat box so our Guild's thread does not get clogged up with spam.

Welcome to the Bookmaker, where you can bet away your Bells in the hopes to win big*. At least for now, this is open only to the members here who play New Leaf, until we can work out something for non-players.

So, what kind of things can you bet on here? Well, you can bet on tournament matches, obviously, but we’ll also occasionally do special bets that can be on nearly anything. Since both types of bets are completely different, I’ll cover them and their unique rules separately. But first, here’s the general process:

When you decide your bet, inform me (privately if you’re betting on a tournament match), and I’ll add you to the spreadsheet. Once that’s done, you will visit my village, where I’ll be playing a back-up file named Bookie. You will hand Bookie the Bells you bet, and she’ll add them to her bank account. If you win your bet, you will return, where Bookie will give you your prize money.

Now, a run-down of how odds work. Odds are numbered like 20/1, 30/1, 2/1, basically anything over 1 (though 3/2 odds might appear). These odds show how likely its associated person or item is to win. The higher the number, the less likely it is to win. However, your prize is your original bet multiplied by the first number and divided by the second (since it’s usually 1, you get the first number times your original bet). For example, you bet 5,000 Bells on a 10/1 chance, and win. You get 50,000 Bells. Basically, the higher the number, the less likely you are to win if you bet on that item, but the higher the payout on the off chance you do win.

Now, for the specifics:

Betting on a tournament is relatively straightforward. In each match, I will place odds on each contestant to win that match. You will be betting on each match, not trying to predict the champion from Round 1. During Round 1, all contestants will be given 2/1 odds. Depending on the score, and comparing the scores of each winner, the contestants will have their odds fluctuate for the continuing rounds. For example, let’s say we have four combatants, A through D. A and B face off, and A wins with scores of 3-0 and 2-0, with no third round. Now, C and D face off, and D wins 1-0 and 2-0, and loses round two 2-0. In the next round, since A scored better and won more cleanly, A will have 2/1 or 3/1 odds, while D, who had a much closer battle, will now have 5/1 or 7/1 odds. This method is not precise and does NOT reflect how good the players actually are, so do NOT assume that me giving a player a higher number means I feel that they are not a good player. There is no other unbiased way to calculate these odds.

Anyway, with the explanation out of the way, there are some rules to keep in mind:
  • You cannot bet on a match in which you are participating. If you are one of the combatants, you cannot bet. You may bet on the other matches in that round, but not your own.
  • You must make your bet privately. I don’t want to risk any hurt feelings on this. Place your bet through PM on Serebii or privately on the chat.
  • You are allowed to bet on all ongoing matches, bearing rule number one in mind.

Every now and then, we’ll do special bets. The topic of these bets is not limited to Pokémon and Animal Crossing, though they can fall into such topics (such as determining the type of a new Pokémon before it’s announced). The current special bet (or bets, depending on whether there are multiple bets ongoing) will be listed below this section, and will be posted in the thread once announced.

Rules:
  • Unless otherwise stated, you may make this bet publically, by VM or openly in the chat.
  • Obey the rules of the special bet, since each one will have its own unique conditions.

CURRENT SPECIAL BET(S):
None at this time.

Okay, this will be a bi-weekly Special Bet. On the 15th and last day of each month, I (or a willing helper) will check the sales numbers for both X and Y, worldwide. Whichever game has the most sales will win for that check. The book-numbers will change each time, to reflect changes in sales (for instance, if X gets further ahead, the odds for Y will go from, say, 10/1 to 20/1, since it would have to catch up and surpass X in two weeks). So, for now, both games will have 5/1 odds. AC players, start your betting!

Current odds:
X - 5/1
Y - 5/1
Tie - 100/1

PRIZES:
When you place a bet, you will get Bells (guild points, not in-game, sorry) depending on the type of bet and the results:
Tournament Bets offer 5 for betting, plus an additional 5 (10 total) if your bet wins
Special Bets offer 10 for betting, plus an additional 10 (20 total) if your bet wins
In addition, in the future, we may offer in-game prizes to frequent gamblers and winners.

Happy gambling, everyone!

*I am by no means encouraging gambling with actual money. Please gamble legally and responsibly if you do decide to do so.
