Pokemon Disappointments?

While I understand why they need it for some of the major words like F-bombs and obscenely derogatory words, cause I mean there ARE kids that are 10 and younger that play these games and parents would flip their **** and sue as fast as you could blink, they did mess up pretty damn bad with the censoring. Some of the words they picked just don't make a lick of sense. They were trying to cover their bases by they didn't cover them very well. Like I to had tried to name something spike and it wouldn't let me. Seriously how is the word spike derogatory? It's a pretty common name for a pet.

So far though that's the only one I had a problem with. Oh and on my nuzelock Y I had nicknamed my Nidoqueen Titties except instead of I's I put exclamation points. But that was just purely for fun.

^ AGREED. I know something else that bugged me was the fact that a lot of Legendaries I had caught from B/W 2 had to have their names reset when there wasn't anything vaguely inappropriate about them. In fact, none of them were even actual words, for that matter. :I

Razor Shiftry

Some things that really disappointed me:

My beloved Shiftry STILL can't learn Hurricane. Even though every pokedex entry talks about him creating gusts on the same strength as hurricanes. *Rages*

The lack of specially attacking rock types. Seriously, why is power gem so horrifically distributed? Diancie and Aurorus, both pokemon with decent (base 100 and base 99 respectively) special attack and covered. in. Arceus. damn. gems....yet they can only learn ancient power. Wut.

Carbink trades in its ability to learn Power Gem for Trick Room when it turns into Diancie. That wouldn't be that much of a loss if Diamond Storm was a Special move.

how none of the pokemon of the previous generations got an evolution... well expect the mega's but I wanted normal evolutions,
especially for shuckle, torkoal and farfetch'd

Since we haven't gotten any evolutions except one for two generations now, I don't think we're getting any more tbh. Eevee may continue to be a special case, but for everyone else I think it's Mega Evos all the way. I agree on those Pokemon though. Farfetch'd especially is ripe for a boost. Slap on a Fighting type and a cool ability while you're at it, and give it access to Sacred Sword. Then he would finally have his rightful place.

Also, why all the hating on HG/SS? I absolutely adored those games. They were absolutely beautiful, and I loved being able to have your Pokemon follow you, and how while they were they would use HMs in the overworld and such. Not keeping that was another big disappointment to me. I thought it was the beginning of lean towards the way Pokemon work in Ranger, and while I hate Ranger's battle mechanics, I did love the overworld mechanics. Pokemon Amie does almost make up for not being able to have them follow you around though. It's in a similar vain as personally interacting with your Pokemon goes, but, yknow... why not both?

I'm disappointined with the fact that they're trying to get older players by adding all these old pokemon and only adding 70 new ones. I enjoyed Black and White in that they were almost exclusively new Pokemon; I know i'm in the minority here but that's how I feel nevertheless.

Not quite why they're doing that but hey

I think there could have been more emphasis on the story of X and Y. IMO it sort of feels rushed. There should have been more of a backstory for the King, for example, and I was hoping to see the actual habitat of Xerneas. A beautiful mystic forest would have been great! On the other hand....lovely scenic habitats is one thing I like about the Mystery Dungeon series, so I can always play those to see more of a Pokemon's habitat.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this earlier.

A disappointment to me is how the entire Cyndaquil line's base stats are an exact copy paste of the Charmander line. This basically means Typhlosion is Charizard without the Flying type. Which is a real shame as I like Typlosion A LOT more than Charizard.

While it is true that Tornadus and Thundurus (Incarnate) along with Xerneas and Yveltal also have the exact same base stats, the Cyndaquil line disappointed me more.

I didn't find Kalos' champion that interesting. Professor Sycamore would've been better as a champion.

To be honest, I was expecting someone like Professor Oak to be the champion of Kalos (even though he didn't get an appearance in X/Y) or Blue, because of the G.R.A.M.P.S theory that some of you might be familiar with. I was also expecting Blue to be part of the villainous team for X/Y until it was realised to be Team Flare, and they were a right disappointment because their plot was so bland and there was nothing really in it, unlike B/W's plot.

I'm a little disappointed by the current generation, personally. I've been a fan since the first games and have enjoyed them all so far, but I'm let down by this one.

Obviously I appreciate the move to 3D was a massive step. I just feel that they short changed us because of the 3D thing. We didn't get as many new Pokemon, especially when you consider the region before was all new Pokemon, totally unconnected to any previous generations. I thought that was really good.

I also feel we were short changed on the story.

2 things, 1. a pokemon game with an actual full on league plus frontier battle team, and a champion that is in no way related to the league however wanders the game at random points with nothing but random sets of level 100 pokemon, and the last time you get to beat him is before the elite 4, also the champion has to have an uber impressive design and character (this has always been a disappointment, the champion should not be related to the elite 4, that's fine that he beat it, but he should be a trainer for most), and something more battle frontier orientated, where you can battle for levels but also battle against skill based simulators.

2. I am disappointed in the use of weak legendary such as the uxie trio, meloetta, shaymin, jirachi, etc, in the movies its seen that even though they are weak they also have ridiculous abilities that can do crazy stuff, my disappointment is why that has never been a fact in the TCG and VGC, yes they have seen use's as techs in both formats in the past, but techs are only so useful, I think these little guys deserve to actually do more of what they do movie wise TCG and VGC wise.

The Friendly Ghost
I wish there were more Mega Evolutions and the fact that the games use a default animation for flying and surfing.....still..... hahah. Also, I hate how crazy it got to be competitive.

Lastly, I hate how I don't see Ash/Red and other previous installments of the games in the current game.

Regarding Team Flare, my biggest disappointment of all in regards to the villainous team was that they did something they haven't done in previous generations. Much like how B/W flipped a lot of the conventions we've come to expect regarding Pokemon's storytelling, X/Y went and put a Team Flare member on the Elite 4. That should open up so many possibilities for some sort of league intrigue...

...Then they went and did nothing with it other than have Malva spout impotent threats at you.

I find it rather disappointing that Malva didn't get more involved in the story considering how much influence she has being an E4 Member/Holocaster news reporter.

So much missed opportunity.

Delphox looking terrible.

The Unova starters,the Pidove line.

The rest of the Hoenn starters not getting Mega evos[though, they might get them later if there will be any Ruby/Sapphire remakes].

The invention of Rotom-W[I hate it!].

The Fairy types looking waay too girly and Zoroark's type not being changed to Dark/Fairy.

Why is it people are so obsessed with Hoenn re-makes, oh wow.

Sounds like someone's angry about Rotom-W on an opponent's team, lol.

I wouldn't call Xerneas or Granbull 'girly'. Why the heck would you want Zoroark part Fair...as though it needs anymore weaknesses to its already frail defenses. It already does what it does just fine.
