Pokemon Emerald question!

You know that guy on Pokemon Emerald at the Pokemon center in Mauville City he always is different depending on which starter you used like say you used Treecko and you talk to him he a poem person and when you use Torchic he's a song writer I don't know what the one for Mudkip yet...

I think your talking about the Trader, Bard, and poem guy. They change every time you mix records with someone else.
The three people and their purpose:
Bard: Sings a weird song, then asks you to edit one word in it.
Trader: trades a secret base item with you, then when you mix records with someone else, that person could trade something for the item you traded with the Trader.(It means you can give a secret base item to someone else.)
Poem dude:I dont know yet.
When you mix records with someone else, they get the person you had, then you get the person that they had. Ex:Your freind has Bard.You have poem guy. You mix records with freind. your Freind gets poem guy, you get Bard.

there are actually more than just those three.

Giddy - says random, nonsensical things. useless. has yellow hair, IIRC.
Hipster - same a giddy but with a few grammar lessons. red hair
storyteller - keeps track of up to 4 records, such as # of battles, eggs hatched, saves, berries planted, pokemon evolved, etc. etc.
bard - sings a song. you can change one word each time you mix records.
trader - the only one with a genuine use. you can trade him a decoration, then mix records and trade for the decoration in another game. the only way to get a more than 1 Gold/Silver shield in a game.

which one you get depends on the last digit of your ID #.
