Pokemon: Generation of the Clones
My story is set nearly twelve years after Ash and Misty married and had an only child – a daughter – called Josephine. When Josephine turned ten, Ash left and went to assist in the Kanto-Johto war. Misty prays day after day that Ash will return, but Josephine has a feeling that her father will never come back. Two months before she turns twelve, Josephine obtains her starter Pokemon, Umbreon, from Professor Gary Oak, who has taken over his grandfather’s job – since Professor Oak has passed on – and because Pallet Town needed a new Pokemon researcher.
Josephine nicknamed her Pokemon “Umby”. Josephine knows Umby is special, as she doesn’t believe that there are any other Pokemon out there that have Umby’s uniqueness… but she later discovers that there ARE other Pokemon out there that share the same uniqueness as Umby.
Gary’s grandson, Paul, has one of those Pokemon… a Vulpix called Maggie. Paul and Maggie have a very strong bond of friendship, as Maggie found Paul when she was only one week old. Maggie is very different from others of her own kind, because she was “born” with reddish-purple (magenta) fur and her right eye is completely blind. Because of the colour of her fur, she has been labeled a “freak” by other Vulpix. Paul, however, doesn’t care about her fur colour or her disability… he cares for Maggie because, to him, she is the most beautiful Pokemon he has ever seen.
